Another day, another chapter! Anyway, there's not much I can really say here, so enjoy!

The morning sun shone brightly over Cerulean City, Jack woke up in his bed. He looked over to see Diego still fast asleep, he had finished an intense training session last night.

"Come on Diego, wake up!" Jack said.

"Come on mom, five more minutes!" Diego answered groggily. Jack looked at him strangely, Diego said really random things sometimes but he never called Jack "mom".

"Oh well, I guess you don't want your third badge!" Jack stated, this made Diego spring awake.

"I'm up, I'm up!" He shouted, he quickly got dressed and dashed to the gym, but Renée stopped him before he could even leave the Pokemon Center.

"Dude, I know you want your badge, but you could at least stop to have breakfast first!" She said. Diego calmed down to eat breakfast with the others.

"So Diego are you ready?" Julia asked.

"Of course I'm ready! I spent all night training my pokemon to the max!" Diego answered.

"That Psyduck did some pretty bad damage yesterday." Noted Renée.

"Don't worry about it!" Diego assured. "I've got it all figured out!"

About a half hour later, the group returned to the Cerulean Gym, Misty was there waiting for them, her sisters had left to do a show in Johto. Julia and Renée were upset to know they left, but the sisters gave the twins their autographs so they weren't too upset.

"Welcome back guys!" Misty greeted "Let's not waste any time Diego, we both know why you're here . So let's get right to it! I made sure Psyduck doesn't interrupt this time too. Let's make this battle an easy 2 on 2!"

"Alright, let's do this!" Diego said confidently, they sent out their pokemon. Misty sent out a Gyarados while Diego sent out his Pikachu.

"Make your move!" Misty said.

"Ok, Pikachu use Thunder Wave!" Diego ordered, Pikachu sent out a ring of lightning towards Gyarados.

"Gyarados, use Dive!" Misty commanded, Gyarados quickly dove into the water, avoiding Pikachu's attack. Diego looked a bit surprised, but then he noticed that this was his chance.

"Pikachu, use Double Team!" Pikachu then split into 5 different Pikachu, it looked impossible to tell the difference. Gyarados leaped out of the water and attacked one of the Pikachu's. The one it hit dissipated into a cloud of smoke. Gyarados did not hit the right one.

"Pikachu use Thunder Bolt!" Pikachu leaped into the air, it's red cheeks sparked with electricity. It then sent out a bolt of lightning at Gyarados, which was too fast for it to dodge, causing some major damage with Gyarados' 4x weakness to Electric type attacks. Misty looked impressed.

"Gyarados, use Aqua Tail!" Gyarados lashed it's large tail towards Pikachu, a storm of water raged behind it. The attack took out all of the clones and did major damage to Pikachu. Though Pikachu managed to stay standing.

"Pikachu quick! End it with another Thunder Bolt!" Pikachu leaped onto Gyarados' head and shocked him once more, this was enough to bring the pseudo-dragon down.

"Not bad Diego, but Gyarados is actually one of my weakest pokemon!" Misty announced. Diego didn't seem to surprised at this, Gyarados is normally a strong pokemon but this one went down surprisingly easily. "Alright Starmie, let's go!"

Misty sent out her ace pokemon, Starmie. Diego decided to keep Pikachu in the battle.

"Starmie, use Water Pulse!"

"Pikachu, use Thunder Bolt!"

The two attacks collided, causing an explosion, neither pokemon were hurt. Pikachu was starting to get worn down, Starmie still looked ready to fight.

"Pikachu, Double Team!"

Misty smirked confidently after Pikachu made it's move.

"Starmie, use Surf!" Starmie created a huge wave that crashed down onto Pikachu, knocking it out. Diego didn't really seem to frustrated with this, he seemed to know that Pikachu couldn't take Starmie down, at least not after the damage it had taken from Gyarados.

Diego sent out his Zubat, his Charmeleon would not match up well here...

"Starmie, use Ice Beam!"

Starmie let out a snow white blast of energy at Zubat, Zubat barely managed to avoid the attack.

"Zubat, Confuse Ray!" Zubat let out a colored sphere of energy towards Starmie, it seemed to disorient the pokemon, though it was hard to tell since Starmie lacks any eyes. Misty looked a bit surprised, but she collected herself and made her next move.

"Starmie, use Thunder!"

This shocked everyone, how on earth could Starmie learn Thunder?! The attack hit Zubat dead on, it was knocked to the ground, it seemed as though it already down for the count until it flew back into the air and began glowing a golden color!

"Wait... is Zubat..." Jack questioned.

"It is!" Renée added.

"Zubat's evolving!" Jack revealed.

Zubat had evolved into Golbat, it's color remained the same (Green with Pink wings), Diego scanned it with his pokedex.

'Golbat, the Bat Pokemon: Once it starts sacking blood, it does not stop until it is full. It flies at night in search of prey.'

"Eerie..."Jack added.

"This is awesome! Golbat, use Acrobatics!" Golbat charged at Starmie and hit it with fleet footed strikes, causing some decent damage.

"Starmie, Ice Beam!" Starmie tried attacking Golbat, but Golbat's speed advantage allowed it to avoid it.

"Golbat, Poison Fang!"

Golbat bared it's fangs at Starmie, the fangs themselves were dripping with what seemed like an extremely potent toxin. Golbat bit into Starmie, causing more damage and badly poisoning it. Misty looked surprised at this but she tried to keep her cool.

"Starmie, use Thunder one more time!" Misty ordered. Starmie tried to attack again, but the attack missed again.

"Golbat, finish this with Bite!"

Golbat sunk it's teeth into Golbat again, this last strike managed to take Starmie down, giving Diego the victory. Misty sighed in defeat.

"Well I guess this should be been expected." Misty said. "That was a good match though, I had more fun in that battle than I had in a long time! Here's your badge Diego, and you guys might want to take these with you." She handed Diego his badge and 4 TM's they contained the move Scald.

"Alright! That's three down and 5 more to go!" Diego cheered.

"You might want to head to Lavender Town next." Misty said.

"Why, what's there?" Julia asked.

"The Kanto League recently opened an official Gym there, but to get there you'll have to go through Rock Tunnel." Misty explained, an alarm began to go off on Misty's pocket she reached into it and pulled out her PokeNav X, which is an upgraded model of the PokeNav Plus. It notified her that she needed to be somewhere.

"Sorry to go so soon guys, but I have a date! I'll see you around!" Misty said as she left her gym.

The group left the Gym and began to head East, they were planning for the journey ahead.

"So how bug is Rock Tunnel?" Renée asked.

"It's pretty big actually, it has multiple floors and a few branching paths. It's pretty much Mount Moon except longer and a bit more tedious. Plus, it's supposed to be pretty dark in there." Jack explained.

"Isn't there a village in the next Route?" Julia questioned.

"Yeah, I think so. I just can't remember the name of it though." Jack replied. The group exited Cerulean City, from above, the zeppelin that had followed the group when they were near Pewter City had returned.

From inside, several Alpha Squad members of TDS members were heading for the village Julia mentioned.

"Empress, we're approaching Maroon Village." A grunt told the woman sitting in the throne, she was still obscured by the shadows, the only thing you could see about her were the glowing red eye holes of her mask.

"Good, prepare for the attack!" She answered...

And the Cerulean Gym is done! In the next few chapters, the plot is really going to pick up. So stay tuned!
