Sorry for the delay guys, but here's the first part of the Lavender Town Gym battles!

The sun was high in the sky, which was clear except for a few clouds. The Gym was now open and the group went inside. The gym's interior was dark, but it was lit with torches that burned with a soft blue flame. Solomon was meditating in his side of the arena, he wasn't wearing his sandals, which he usually wore. He opened one of his eyes and saw the trio.

"So you're ready then?" Solomon asked.

"Yeah, and I'll be battling first!" Diego answered confidently.

"Sorry, but I'm afraid you can't do that. This gym is different than the ones you're use to." Solomon said.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Renée asked.

"My gym is unique because I only battle in Double Battles." Solomon explained, surprising the group.

"Wait, so you're saying I need someone to battle alongside me?" Diego asked.

"That's right! So you'll have to battle with one of your friends." Solomon explained.

"That might be a problem, there's three of us, so one of us will have to battle twice." Julia noted, suddenly, the door to the gym opened. Jack walked inside, but due to his disguise, nobody recognized him but he recognized them.

'Crap, I didn't expect to see them all here! I have to come back later.' Jack thought to himself.

"Hey guy! Why don't you be my partner for this battle?" Diego said.

'Damn! Well... as risky as it would be, battling alongside Diego might be fun. What do you guys think?' Jack asked his pokemon.

'Go for it! You get to battle with your best friend, even if he won't know who you are but it'll be just like old times!' Ivysaur answered.

'Plus ya' need the badge don't ya'?' Fearow replied, a hint of excitement in his voice.

Jack nodded at Diego, who looked excited.

"Great let's do this!" Diego exclaimed, he turned to Solomon with an eager look on his face. "Solomon, your ghost types are going down!"

'So it is a Ghost-Type gym then, sorry Gallade.' Jack thought.

'No problem Jack, I want to battle but it would be foolish for me to battle a ghost pokemon.'

'Hey Chief, if they're ghosts then let me have a go at them. Ghosts can't touch me!' Fearow noted.

'Well you're right Fearow, Mightyena would be good to use too since Dark-types beat Ghost-Types.' Jack noted.

'Sweet!' Mightyena said in excitement.

'What about me? I'm good against ghosts too!' Shuppet noted.

'You are right Shuppet, but you're also weak against ghosts. As much as I want to start using you, it's best if you sit this one out.' Jack answered.

'Aww, shoot!' Shuppet whined.

"I guess that means that we'll be battling together sis!" Julia said, to which Renée nodded.

The boys took their places at the arena, Jack was glad to be battling alongside his best friend. Diego looked excited to just be able to battle.

"Alright you two, the battle will be four against four. You two should be use to double battles by mow, so let's get stuck into it!" Solomon announced.

"That's fine with me! Charmeleon, let's heat things up!" Diego said, sending out his Charmeleon, Jack sent out his Fearow without saying a word.

'Are you ready Fearow?' Jack asked.

'Hell yeah!' Fearow answered.

"Good to see you two are eager. Let's see how you guys do against these two!" Solomon proclaimed, sending out two pokemon which were revealed to be a Haunted and Mismagius. Julia looked absolutely mortified about the ghosts.

"Gotta be brave... gotta be brave!" Julia said to herself, she was still afraid of ghost pokemon.

"Two strong special attackers. This might be tough for them..." Renée noted.

"You guys can make the first move." Solomon said.

"Alright Charmeleon, use Flame Burst!" Diego announced.

'Fearow, use Aerial Ace!' Jack ordered, he used Gallade's psychic powers to make his commands telepathically, allowing him to stay silent.

The two pokemon made their moves, Charmeleon aimed the initial attack at Mismagius but Mismagius avoided the attack. Fearow's attack could not be avoided though, causing considerable damage.

"Mismagius, Haunter, use Confuse Ray!" Solomon ordered, the two ghosts sent out two purple orbs at the Fearow and Charmeleon. Fearow flew to avoid the attack but Charmeleon wasn't so lucky.

"Uh-oh! Charmeleon please, snap out of it and use Flame Burst!"

'Fearow, hit Mismagius with another Aerial Ace!' Jack commanded.

Fearow charged after Mismagius again, Charneleon looked dazed but it snapped out of confusion to male it's attack, which managed to hit Haunter. The explosion caused by the attack caused damage to Mismagius, who was then hit by Fearow's attack, the coined force of these attacks managed to take out both Haunter and Mismagius.

"Wow, I have to admit, you two work pretty well together!" Solomon praised.

'We kind of do, this guy battles just like Jack does, he even has a Fearow! But it has to be a coincidence. Still, I wonder what Jack is up to.' Diego thought to himself.

"Nice going guys!" Renée cheered, Julia was watching Jack, she didn't recognize him either, due to his disguise, Renée noticed this. "What's wrong sis?"

"There's something about that guy battling with Diego, there's something familiar about him." Julia said.

"Hehe, that was just the easy part, next comes my ace!" Solomon said, he sent sent out his next two pokemon, one of them was a Drifblim while the second was... a Chansey, which confused everyone.

"A Chansey? Why would you use that? It's a normal type pokemon." Diego asked.

"It's all a part of my strategy. Now Chansey, use Sandstorm!" Solomon announced, Chansey began to glow light brown, sand began to flow through the area. "Drifblim, follow up with a Weather Ball!"

Drifblim sent out a white ball of energy at Fearow, the ball began to absorb some of the sand, causing it to turn into a sandy brown. The ball hit Fearow, taking it down in one hit.

'Argh, I never expected this! Return Fearow, you deserve a break. Mightyena, it's your turn!' Jack said to his team, sending out Mightyena.

"So that's why you use Chansey, it changes the weather for your Drifblim!" Diego stated.

"You catch on quickly! Now let's see if you can beat this duo!" Solomon proclaimed.

"Well do it easily! Charmeleon, use Dragon Rage on Drifblim!" Diego announced, Charmeleon spit out the blue flame at Drifblim, the latter didn't try to avoid the attack, which didn't seem to do any damage to it.

'We may need to power up and hit them with stronger attacks.' Jack told Mightyena, ' Mightyena, use Howl!'

Mightyena howled loudly, lifting it's spirits and raising it's attack stat.

"How does he order his pokemon to attack? Is he psychic or something?" Julia asked.

"Maybe he has such a strong bond with his pokemon that he doesn't need to verbally order his pokemon to attack. It isn't unheard of." Renée replied.

"Chansey, use Rain Dance and Drifblim, use Weather Ball again!" Solomon said, Chansey began to glow blue, it formed a small blue ball in his hands and raised it into the ceiling, creating a large cloud. It soon began to rain inside the gym, Drifblim sent out another ball of energy, it absorbed the rain, turning the ball into liquid which hit Charmeleon, knocking it out.

"Aww man! It's down to this then, Raichu, give us a hand!" Diego said, sending out his Raichu.

'Things are getting close, Mightyena it's time to go on the offensive. Use Bite on Chansey!' Jack ordered.

"Ok Raichu, let's hit em' hard, use Thunder Bolt on Driflblim!" Diego ordered. Mightyena charged after Chansey, who began running as if her life depended on it. Drifblim tried to avoid Raichu's attack, but it was barely hit, causing it immense pain.

"Hang in there you two! Chansey, use Sunny Day and Drifblim, use Weather Ball on Mightyena!" Solomon said.

Chansey started to emit an orange aura and formed an orange, flaming orb in its hands. It was about to throw it into the air but Mightyena managed to bite it, due to Chansey's low defense and Mightyena's increased attack, the bite was more than enough to take out.

Since Chansey wasn't able to use Sunny Day, Drifblim's Weather Ball was still a Water Type move, it was a strong hit, but not enough to take down Mightyena.

"Alright, time to show the fruits of our training! Raichu, use Electro Beam!" Diego ordered, Raichu placed his tail on his forehead and began charging up electricity into it. When it had charged enough, it used its tail to fire a bolt of purple lightning at Drifblim with enough force that the bolt could be seen passing through Drifblim. The force of the attack was enough to take Drifblim down.

"Hahaha! Well I know how to take a loss! You two worked very well together! Despite just meeting each other, you battled as if you had known each other for years! That's the kind of teamwork that can take you to the Pokemon League. I'm proud to give you guys this, the Amity Badge! You might also want to take these also." Solomon said, he handed the boys their badges which were dark purple circles that formed the shape of an 'X', he also gave them the TM for Shadow Ball.

As soon as Jack put his badge and TM away, he headed for the door, however Diego stopped him.

"Hey, wait dude! Why don't you stay and watch the girls battle?" He proposed but Jack shook his head, waving goodbye to the group and leaving.

"That stinks, he seemed like a really cool guy." Diego said.

"I wonder what his deal is, he never said a word the entire time he was here." Renée pondered.

'There's something about that guy, we've met him before, I just know it!' Julia thought to herself.

"Hey, if it's alright, I'd like to take a break. My pokemon are tuckered out after that battle." Solomon said, snapping Julia out of her daze.

"Hm? Oh, of course!" Julia answered, smiling at Solomon.

Jack began heading for Route 8, which had been nearly destroyed by rock slides and avalanches from nearby mountains, causing the route to turn into a desert!

As he left the town, Jack thought of his friends.

'I'll join you guys again... someday...' He thought, he took out the Dawn Stone he saved. He looked at its sparkling radiance and smiled, a slight blush creeping up on his face. His moment was interrupted by Ivysaur.

'Uh... Chief, are we going to keep moving?' Ivysaur asked.

'Huh, oh right. Yeah...' Jack answered, a bit embarrassed.

'Hehe, don't mind him Ivysaur, Jack's just busy thinking about Julia. You know how he feels about her.' Mightyena joked.

'Huh? Who's Julia, and how does Mr. Chief feel about her?' Shuppet asked.

'Did you notice the girl in the white cardigan and grey skirt, that's Julia and the Chief has a major crush on her!' Mightyena said, causing Jack to blush as red as Pokeball.

'Hey! Shush up Mightyena!' Jack yelled, trying not to verbally speak. 'And Shuppet, you don't need to call me "Mr. Chief" just Chief is fine, or you can call me Jack, whichever you prefer.'

'Hehe, ok Chief! But you don't need to be embarrassed about liking a girl. Maybe you should go back and talk to her, maybe show her what you look like too!' Shuppet proposed.

'I... can't do that Shuppet. It's a long story...' Jack answered. While they continued onward, the twins were getting ready for their battle back at the gym...

That's part 1 of the Lavender Town Gym battles. Can the twins win as easily as the boys? Will Jack reunite with the group? We'll see!

New move:

Electro Beam

80 Power

90 Accuracy

The user channels electricity to a part of its body which is then released in the form of an electric beam. May paralysis paralysis the foe. (The difference between this move and charge beam, and Charge Beam is that Charge Beam will raise Special Attack and become stronger, while Electro Beam already has power but can paralyze.)
