Well, here we are. Chapter number 50. Thanks for reading this far. Don't worry this story won't be extremely long to the point where the story will be over 100 chapters, but I hope you'll stick by and enjoy the story.

It was late into the next morning, the trio had just entered Route 12.

"Wow! Look at the view!" Julia chimed, looking at the glimmering sunlight on the water. Various water pokemon jumped out of the water, they looked like they were dancing in the sunlight.

"It's a nice view but I'm honestly in the mood to battle." Diego said.

"Well there are a bunch of fishermen around here that would be more than happy to battle you." Renée replied.

"That's kind of the problem though, I'm not really in the mood to battle just water types." Diego argued.

"Well then maybe I could help." A voice replied. The three of them turned around and saw Alan smirking.

"What are you doing here?" Renée asked, a disgusted look on her face.

"I'm heading to Fuchsia and I couldn't help but overhear your friend here saying he wanted to battle." Alan explained.

"Well come on, bring it!" Diego replied, readying his pokeball.

"Hold on, why don't we make this more interesting by making this a double battle?" Alan asked.

"Ok, so which of the girls do you want to battle?" Diego asked.

"I choose... you." Alan said, pointing at Julia.

"W-what? Me?!" Julia replied in shock. Alan nodded, still smirking.

"We'll make it four on four. So you two will each use two pokemon." Alan explained.

Farther south on the Route, Jack had just finished packing up his stuff and was passing through a solitary building that was facing the sea. A fisherman was standing outside the building, he seemed to be selling fishing rods.

"You there!" The fisherman said, calling to Jack, who looked confused though it was hard to tell since he was still wearing his mask. "You look like you have the potential to he a great fisherman!"

"Are you talking to me?" Jack asked.

"Well yes, and the boy over there." The fisherman replied. Jack turned to see who the boy that the fisherman referring to was Ray.

'Oh crap...' Jack thought to himself.

"Hey there Dock, selling your Super Rods again I see." A voice called out, the three of them turned to see Anthony, a member of the Kanto Elite Four.

"Hehe, good to see you again Tony!" The fisherman, Dock, greeted. "And I guess I am."

"Wait." Ray cut in. "You know Anthony, the Water type master of the Elite Four and team captain of the F.C. Blazikens?"

"Of course!" Dock answered. "We go way back, I taught this boy here how to fish!"

"We'll how about this, why don't you give them the rods and put it on my tab." Anthony said, laughing a little bit.

"Aww come on Tony, you know your word's always good here. You two can take these rods for free." Dock replied. "And tell you what, Anthony here'll teach you two how to fish, won't you Tony?"

"Well why not. Come on you two, I know an awesome fishing spot that isn't too far from here." Anthony answered.

Diego and Julia's battle was well underway. Alan had sent out his Haunter and a Rufflet. Diego was using his Charizard while Julia had her Kirlia.

"Charuzard, Flamethrower on the Rufflet now!" Diego ordered.

"Kirlia, use Calm Mind!" Julia commanded.

"Rufflet, Protect. And Haunter, heh, Thunderbolt." Alan ordered.

Charizard blew out an intense stream of fire at Rufflet, who was protected by a green shield of energy. While Charizard's attack failed, Haunter generated electricity through its fingertips and fired them at Charizard, the attack was enough to put Charizard down. Kirlia concentrated it's energy, raising it's Special Attack and Special Defense stats.

"It's a common rule for talented pokemon trainers to expect the unexpected." Alan said.

"Are you implying something?" Diego asked to which Alan just shrugged. "You know what, I guess I'll just have to embarrass you then."

Diego sent out his Psyduck, to which Alan just laughed.

"Seriously? You'd rather try to embarrass me with a Psyduck than win the battle?" Alan asked.

"Don't underestimate Psyduck, he's smarter than he looks." Diego replied.

"You're just full of humor today aren't you." Alan said. "Rufflet, use Aerial Ace on Kirlia and Haunter, you use Shadow Punch on Psyduck."

"Kirlia, hit that Rufflet with a Shock Wave!" Julia ordered.

"Psyduck, prove this jerk wrong with a Confusion!" Diego commanded.

Haunter's hand turned into a shadow and sped along the ground, uppercutting Psyduck at the same time Psyduck's Confusion attack connected. Kirlia sent blue electric bolts at Rufflet that had connect at the exact moment that Rufflet connected it's attack, resulting in an electrical explosion.

Kirlia and Psyduck were considerably weakened from the attacks, they struggled to even stand. As soon as they were able to get back up on their feet, they began to evolve into a Gardevoir and Golduck respectively.

"Hmph, where's that smart talk now!" Diego taunted.

Meanwhile, Anthony had brought Jack and Ray to a different part of the route. The three of them had their fishing rods and we're just beginning to cast them out.

"Ok guys, the key to fishing is patience. But I'm pretty sure you already knew that. The second you feel a bite, just reel it in. Now since you have Super Rods, you'll have a pretty easy time reeling your fish in and they'll have a higher chance of being stronger or more rare." Anthony explained.

"What kind of rare pokemon?" Ray asked.

"Well on this route the rarer pokemon tend to be Horsea, Relicanth, and Dragalge." Anthony answered. "Dock also taught me about a technique called Chain Fishing."

"Chain Fishing?" Ray asked.

"Yup, Chain Fishing is where the patience of a fisherman is really tested. It involves remaining in the same spot, fishing pokemon consecutively until you find a shiny pokemon. It's honestly really hard to do and I myself haven't successfully done it."

"How long does it take to find a shiny pokemon?"

"It's depends, it could take an hour or it could take days. That's why fishermen are typically extremely focused on their fishing and why they're pretty sour when someone interferes with their fishing. But instead of explaining it, why don't we start fishing, experiencing things can give more information than just explaining things." Anthony said, the three of them began their fishing.

About ten minutes had passed and none of the boys had gotten a bite yet. Ray then began to question Jack, not knowing who he was.

"You haven't said anything yet, why are you so quiet?" Ray asked, to which he got no response. "What's your name dude?"

'I need to think of something!' Jack thought to himself.

"I can't remember my name, I woke up inside of a burned building in Saffron City a few months ago. My face was badly burned, which is why I wear this mask." Jack explained, masking his voice as best as he could.

"Woah, that's pretty heavy." Anthony responded.

"So you're travelling to find out about yourself and how you got in that situation that started your journey in the first place?"

Jack nodded, answering Ray's question. Before any more questions could be asked, all three of the rods got a bite. The three boys started to reel in their fish and we're admittedly surprised. Ray reeled in a Cloyster, Anthony reeled in a Gyarados, and Jack reeled in a Horsea that looked different than normal Horsea. This one was a deeper shade of blue and its abdominal patch was a bit more red than it naturally is.

"Looks like we got a bite, I hope you two are ready for a battle. If you're gonna catch these pokemon, use these." Anthony said, handing the two boys some Lure Balls.

The battle between Alan and our protagonists continued, Diego's Golduck knocked knocked out Alan's Haunter while Julia's Gardevoir took out Alan's Haunter, in response Alan sent out his Tentacruel and Skorupi. Alan's Tentacruel had knocked out Julia's Gardevoir, prompting her to send out her Sealeo next.

"Still think you can win?" Diego asked. "All you have is Poison type pokemon and my Golduck is a Water and Psychic type. Face it Alan, we've won."

"You just don't get it, do you. Tentacruel, use Poison Jab on the Sealeo. Skorupi, use Acupressure." Alan responded. One of Tentacruel's tentacles began glowing purple, it then swiftly charged at Sealeo, slashing the Ice type with its venomous appendage, damaging it and causing it to become poisoned. Skorupi placed it's tail on its forehead, focusing it's energy.

"Not good. Sealeo, use Body Slam on Tentacruel!" Julia ordered. Sealeo bounced up into the air on crashed into Tentacruel, the attack seemed to hurt the Jellyfish pokemon, but it didn't seem to do as much as the Poison Jab did to Sealeo.

"Golduck, use Confusion on the Skorupi!" Diego ordered. Golduck's gem began to glow purple and the same purple glow began emitting from Skorupi, causing the small insect tremendous pain. Surprisingly, Alan was smirking.

"What do you have to smile about?" Diego asked him.

"This battle is over, and I've won. Tentacruel, finish of Sealeo with another Poison Jab. Skorupi, take out Golduck with Pin Missile." Alan commanded. Tentacruel smacked Sealeo again with another Poison Jab, the damage from the attack coupled with the lingering lingering poison damage was enough to put Sealeo down. Skorupi leaped up into the air at an abnormal speed, spitting out a barrage of sharp needles at Golduck, Golduck went down faster than a Zigzagoon that just ate a Rare Candy. Diego was in awe...

"What?! How did you know Skorupi's attack would knock Golduck out? And how did Skorupi suddenly move so fast?"

"Hmph, Pin Missile is a Bug type attack which is super effective against Psychic types like Golduck, as for its speed, Acupressure is a move that causes whatever pokemon that uses it to stimulate it's body, sharply raising one of its stats. In this case it was it's speed stat that was raised. Our battle just now proved that neither of you are strong enough to battle me and from the looks of it, Jack isn't with you. Next time we meet I won't go easy on you again. Be ready." Alan explained, leaving the trio.

"Argh, I really don't like that guy. Next time I see him, I'll beat him, just you wait!" Diego announced, clenching his fist.

Back at the fishing spot, Anthony and Ray had just defeated the pokemon they encountered while fishing while Jack had just thrown one of the Lure Balls at the shiny Horsea. The three watched on as the pokeball shook, their anticipation increased with every movement until the pokeball stopped moving and the Horsea was captured.

"Nice catch, man!" Anthony congratulated, giving Jack a hard pat on the back.

"Yeah, so I guess we go back to fishing?" Ray asked. Before Anthony could respond, his PokeNav received a message, which he promptly read.

"Sorry guys but I'm gonna have to cut this little adventure short, the League wants me to go back there and help them set up for the Kanto League Championship. If you manage to get all eight badges, I'll be seeing you there. Fuschia City is over that way. Until then, see ya!" Anthony said ,pointing in the direction of the city, he sent out a Swanna and flew off.

"Since we're both headed to Fuschia, do you want to go together?" Ray asked.

"Sorry, I think I'll stick here and fish for a little bit longer, maybe I'll see you again." Jack answered.

"Alright, maybe we'll see each other again. Good luck on your journey." Ray said as he left Jack alone with his thoughts.

'That was too close.' Jack thought to himself.

'How much longer do you think it'll take us to get to Fuschia City?' Jack's Venusaur asked via Gallade's telepathy.

'We should be there by tomorrow night.' Jack replied.

'Well I guess we could fill in the new guy about what's going on.' Mightyena added.

'I'm a girl...' Horsea noted.

'Oh, well this might be a bit awkward, since you're the only girl traveling with five other male pokemon.' Shuppet stated.

'Actually I'm a girl too...' Fearow said.

'What?! How come you never said anything?' Mightyena snapped.

'Nobody really asked, you all just assumed I was a boy.' Fearow answered.

"Alright, enough. This is getting out if hand. Let's just take it easy for a little while and we'll start moving a little later." Jack proclaimed, as the seven of them sat in silence. Jack cast out his fishing rod again, hoping that fining another pokemon to battle would get his team's mind off of everything that just happened and so Horsea could be acquainted to the rest of the team.
