Seven days remain until the Indigo League Tournament begins.
Styles was training in the remains of the ruins of Cinnabar Mansion, the building now resembled its state nearly thirty years ago, when Mewtwo was created. That was where most of the trainers were after the eruption.
Several Pokemon Rangers came alongside an Officer Jenny and other officers, getting every trainer's attention.
"Attention everyone!" Jenny called out. "The Aether Foundation will be arriving shortly to help repair the damage of the recent eruption. Because of this we ask that you vacate the premises, and assist in the repair of the town."
Most of the trainers complied and decided to help repair the island. Sylvain was among these trainers, Officer Jenny proceeded to tell everyone that they could resume training until the Foundation arrived.
In Vermillion City, the white and gold boat arrived at the harbor. The young woman exited the boat, several other people followed her, all of them wearing plain white uniforms. One of them was pushing a wheelchair with a woman on it. The woman looked young, having long blonde hair with an emerald green hair clip, she wore a white dress that reached her thighs and black leggings. Her high heels were similar to her emerald hair clip.
What was most concerning though was that this second woman seemed to be unconscious, at best. Her head hung onto her right shoulder, if one didn't know any better, they would think she was simply fast asleep.
"I'll be heading to Cinnabar now, let me know when things are settled so I can pick you up." The young man, who stayed on the boat, called out to his sister. He sounded a bit worried about letting them go without him.
"Don't worry about us, we'll be fine! You trained me, remember?"
The boat began to head Southeast, the girl waved to her brother, who sighed and waved back, a smirk on his face.
"Here they come now!" Officer Jenny announced. Styles had already begun helping with the repairs, his five Pokemon proving to be a huge help. When Styles saw the young man standing at the now if the boat, he knew he recognized him, but he just couldn't put his finger on where from.
"Is that the Champion of Alola?!" Someone asked in shock.
"I think it is! It's Gladion!"
The Aether Foundation boat docked onto the island, Clarion and a plethora of Foundation personnel exited and immediately began to aid in the restoration of the town.
It took all of about five seconds before Gladion was bombarded with questions, autograph/picture/battle requests, and many more things.
"Good grief..." Gladion groaned. "Please hold off on any requests or questions until after our work is done."
The crowd was eventually split up and got back to work. Styles worked his way closer to the Alola Champ, finally getting close enough.
"So, what's the Champion if the Alola region doing here?" Styles asked.
"Just because I'm a Champion doesn't mean I don't have obligations as the President of the Aether Foundation. Besides, most of the trainers that can challenge the league haven't completed their Island Challenge yet."
"What about the Champions Festival a few weeks ago?"
"I don't do big shindigs like those. Not my style."
"If you dont mind me asking; your mom, Mrs. Lusamine, where is she? I figured your sister, Lillie, would be here too."
"They have some important business they need to attend to." Gladion answered, now wondering how the rest of his family were doing.
Lillie and Lusamine were quickly approaching a cottage on the cape of Route 25. Lillie knocked on the door to the cottage. It took a moment but a man opened the door, he wore a purple shirt and khaki pants with brown loafer shoes.
"Ah, Ms. Lillie, I've been expecting you. Come on in!"
The man invited the menbers of the Foundation within his cottage, which was cluttered and rather messy. A supercomputer lined one if the walls while some sort of teleportation machine lined another.
"Back for another trip through the Transporter, I see."
"Mr. Bill, do you know how many more times my mother must do this?" Lillie asked.
"Actually, I'm glad you asked. I've added a few modifications to the Transporter precisely for Mrs. Lusamine. She should no longer go through these catatonic episodes, however the link between her and Nihilego will still remain."
"But she will wake up once the procedure is completed?" Lillke asked, Bill nodded positively, giving the young lady a thumbs up.
One of the Foundation members placed Lusamine into the Transporter on the right side of the wall. A large tube made of green glass connected the first Transporter to the second one on the left.
Bill activated the machine, causing the Transporter to begin making a mechanical whirring sound as the lights on the inside of it began to glow. A white sphere exited the Transporter, coming out of the green tube and then entering the second one. The lights and sounds then died down.
The door to the second Transporter opened, Lusamine stepped out of the machine on hwr own two feet, though she felt a bit groggy.
"Ugh... Where am I? ... It happened again, I assume?" She asked.
"Mother! You're alright!" Lillie beamed with joy as she went to embrace her mother.
"How long will it be before it happens again?" Lusamine asked Bill.
"I made some modifications before you arrived. There should no longer be any issues with you losing consciousness, though you are unfortunately still physically linked with the Ultra Beast." Bill repeated.
"I see." Lusamine looked around the room for a bit. "Where is Gladion?"
"He's waiting for us on Cinnabar Island, helping them repair after the eruption." Lillie answered.
"Right, he's done a phenomenal job taking over. Bill, I can't thank you enough for your help." Lusamine said, bowing slightly to Bill for helping them, one of the foundation members handed Bill a check, paying him for his work.
Styles and Gladion had continued their conversation, the latter telling the trainer about his journey through the Alola region, becoming an Enforcer for Team Skull before it had been disbanded, the danger that was Ultra Necrozma, and how he ended up becoming the Champion.
Gladion suddenly received a call that interrupted his conversation.
"Forgive me, I have to take this... Hello? ... Oh, Mother, good to hear you've recovered. The Island is almost finished being repaired... Alright, I'll see you in a bit."
"I think that should be it for repairs." Styles noted, every building that had been destroyed had been rebuilt, having the help of the people and pokemon made the work go by much faster.
"Well if that's the case then my work here is done. But since you're the only trainer around here that hasn't been hounding me for an autograph or whatever. I figured I might reward you with something. So I'll tell you what, lets have a short, one-on-one battle." Gladion proposed.
"You're serious?" Styles asked.
"Very. Now come one, no holding back!" Gladion replied, he struck some sort of pose that looked rather... Edgy. The two sent out their strongest Pokemon, Glaceon and Silvally respectivally, Styles scanned the Silvally with his pokedex.
'Silvally, the Synthetic Pokemon; Although its name was Type: Null at first, the boy who evolved it into this form gave it the name by which it is now known.'
A crowd quickly began to gather around the two though the two figured this would happen.
"You can make the first move." Gladion said.
"Glaceon, Ice Beam!" Styles commanded.
The Fresh Snow Pokemon let out an icy cold beam of blue energy at the Chimera pokemon.
"Flamethrower."
Silvally, blew out a blazing stream of fire that evaporated Glaceon's Ice Beam, creating a light haze that filled the area
"Now follow up with Multi-Attack."
Silvally charged at Glaceon with its claws glowing orange. Silvally moved too fast for Glaceon to avoid, allowing the Synthetic Pokemon to get a heavy hit on Glaceon.
Despite the hard hit, Glaceon was able to barely get back up on its feet.
"Frost Breath!" Styles ordered.
"Use Flamethrower again." Gladion proclaimed.
Silvally's attack managed to completely bypass the Frost Breath, as the latter had a much weaker base power than Flamethrower, though the attack seemed to completely miss Glaceon.
"Now Glaceon! Ice Beam!"
Glaceon had used Frost Breath as a distraction to leap above Silvally, now using Ice Beam to strike at its foe, the altitude allowing for an easy target on Silvally.
"Using the air to your advantage, impressive. But that won't be enough to win." Gladion said, impressed with the surprise attack. "Silvally, Iron Head."
Silvally leaped upwards at Glaceon, who was still in the air. Silvally's head took on a metallic sheen as it sped towards the Ice pokemon, smashing it with its head and sending it back towards the ground, fainted from the attack.
The two recalled their Pokemon and were met with aoolause by the crowd, which quickly ipened up a bit to allow Lillie and Lusamine to talk with the two boys.
"Bravo! You two did very well!" Lusamine praised.
"It's been a while since I watched you battle, brother!" Lille added, a big smile on her face.
"It's good to see you back on your feet, Mother." Gladion said, he soubded relieved to see his mother in the condition she was in.
Lusamine looked at Styles for a moment, as though she was judging him.
"Trainer, what is your name?" She asked.
"My name is Styles Kaizu, it's an honor to officially meet you Mrs. Lusamine." Styles greeted, bowing politely.
"Likewise, now Styles I assume you came here to train for the upcoming Pokemon League at the Indigo Plateau?"
"That's right! But if I lost against Gladion then that means I have to train more."
"Perhaps, though for a moment you did hold your own against the Champion of the Alola region. You've shown that you're a talented trainer. Now this may seem a bit odd, but I would like for you to come and join us in the laboratories here." Lusamine stated.
"Alright." Styles agreed, the four of then then left to go to the repaired labs, the crowd still trying to ask them all questions.
Away from the crowd however was a male trainer with a Weavile and a Malamar. He stood in the shadows, obscured...
"Strong enough to surprise the Champion of Alola, huh? Well then I suppose I will see you at the Indigo Plateau... Styles Kaizu..."
When they four of then arrived at the labs, Lusamine instructed Lillie to go meet with the scientists in the building to see what machines needes repairing or replacements. Lusamine and Gladion stayed with Styles.
"Now, Styles, we could have done this back there but with how those people are, its better to do this privately. You've got talent and during our battle I could tell you treat your Pokemon with care. Honestly you remind me of an old friend of mine." Gladion explained. "So my mom and I have been talking, and we'd like for you to take care of this Type: Null. We've been testing them back in Alola, they aren't very good at adapting in natural habitats, but it can now breed and produce eggs so we have a lot more."
"You're really giving me a Type: Null?" Styles asked, rather surprised with the gift.
"Don't worry about it, I'm sure it'll be happy to finally see the world and grow stronger. I'm sure you have more training to do and we kind of have business to take care of so unfortunately this is where we part ways. Maybe we'll stick around and watch the tournament and maybe one day we'll have an official match." Gladion said.
"T-thanks." Was all that Styles could say about the gift. "One day though, one day we'll have our rematch!"
Gladion flashed Styles a thumbs up before he left with his mother, who gave Styles a friendly wave goodbye. Styles left the lab, looking at the pokeball containing his new Pokemon.
At the Indigo Plateau; Julia, Reneé and Jack were all pushing Diego to go back to Pallet Town.
"Come on man, your mom's going to want to see you." Jack said.
"Yeah, you can tell her about how you'll be on TV and maybe she can train you!" Julia added.
"Ehh, I don't think my mom is much of a trainer..." Diego argued. Reneé then pulled his ear and made him send out his Charizard.
"Look, this is important, we're going to your place." Reneé said sternly.
"But its already getting dark!" Diego responded.
"Don't worry about it!" The others said simultaneously as they flew to Pallet Town on the Pokemon they had that could fly. Reneé flew with Diego on Charizard to make sure he didn't bail and go back to the League.
The four arrived in Pallet Town, and entered Diego's home.
End of chapter!
There won't be too many more chapters before the League Tournament officially starts and they won't be too long except for one.
Now for those of you who sent in a character at the beginning of the story, I need a team of six or more Pokemon you want your character to use for the tournament. You can let me know of the team by either review or PM. If I get no response or information I will assign a team for the character.
