A Worthy Reward
Hermione pretended there was nothing to be afraid of. The truth was that there was much to be afraid of and she was extremely frightened.
She wandered along a dark and lonely overgrown path, her wand straight out in front of her.
Suddenly, a shadow emerged from the trees and caused Hermione to scream and jump two feet into the air.
"Miss Granger?"
"Oh… you scared me Professor…" Hermione tried to calm her rapid breathing.
"What are you doing out here?"
"We were worried about you."
"So they sent you out to find me, on your own? Let me walk you back to the castle, then."
They turned back in the direction Hermione had come from.
"Well, actually," Hermione confessed, "I was worried about you."
"I see, so you sent yourself out here to rescue me. Perhaps you should walk me back to the castle." Hermione smiled and took his offered arm. "I must thank you profoundly for saving me from the evil forest." Severus replied overdramatically. "How can I ever repay you for your selfless act?"
Hermione smiled again and turned to face her apprentice Master. "Well…"
The moonlight shone on Severus' face. She could see him smirking.
"My thoughts exactly." He leaned in and wrapped his arms around Hermione and leaned in close. "I only hope this is sufficient." He then kissed her softly on the lips.
"Oh no sir. This is quite unequal. I risked my life to save you- I expect just compensation."
The two smirked at each other.
"Very well."
…………
Um… I'm not sure how this came to me but it was originally going to be a 100 word drabble. It's not my best work but I hope you like it regardless. :) Sorry if Hermione didn't start out as much of a Gryffindor. He he.
