Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Fight or Flight. Enjoy the 1200-word chapter. I don't own RWBY, Monty Oum, and Rooster Teeth do.

(Vale.)

"Who made this game… Is a jackass." Maize said and looked down at the Remnant board game.

"You're only saying that because Raven wiped out half your fleet," Taiyang said as Raven pushed her boots to the side.

"The Giant Nevermore card is luck, and you know it!" Maize said and cursed with annoyance. "Sal, where the hell did you get this game to begin with!?" Maize questioned with a screech which made Raven smack him on the back of the head.

The board game of Remnant sat in front of them. Maize sighed in annoyance and brushed off his nightshirt.

"How come you're coming after me?" Maize questioned before pointing at Tai. "He's the one who had the trade goods bonus! That makes Vale harder to defeat the longer he's in the game." Maize yelled and sighed before slamming his cards down on the board.

"Because your reaction is more amusing than anything," Raven said and let out a yawn. "But I am curious as well where you got this." Raven put in and adjusted her kimono.

"Bargain sale in Vale," Sal said while crossing his arms. "I'm surprised that Ms. Goodwitch isn't onto us getting back by crashing… I expected her to be onto us by now." Sal said while Maize rolled his eyes.

"Maybe because the damn thing exploded." Maize countered and cracked his neck. "What did they expect us to do? Go hike back to the airport and take a Bullhead back to Vale? Mistral is the last place we could have done things 'by the book'." Maize stated and rubbed at his tired eyes.

"Doesn't mean she knows that." Raven put in and looked at her cards. "This game is fun… Least when you're not Maize." Raven stated before Sal put down a Giant Nevermore card.

"I choose to attack Raven's fleet while she's focused on conquering Vacuo," Sal said which caused Maize to chuckle while Raven shook her head back and forth with annoyance.

"You're seriously taking an alliance with Vacuo?" Raven questioned while Maize hummed.

"Considering you've been swiping cards from us with the Wind Path?" Sal questioned which caused Maize to chuckle. "Yes, you and Tai are the biggest threats in the game. Maize has lost half his fleet already; he won't be able to rebuild it in time with you attacking it." Sal added which caused him to crack his fingers.

"Least someone has common sense." Maize muttered as Sal rolled the dice and got a 10. Raven cursed as she lost half her fleet.

She moved the piece to the side and hummed. Maize turned to Sal and smiled.

"Thank you." Maize said as Sal hummed.

"Your antics to outdo each other is very amusing." Sal put in which caused the duo to turn to him with interest. "You both act like rivals constantly trying to outdo each other…. It's very amusing." Sal said as both Maize and Raven turned to look at each other.

They tore their heads away from each other with a gag of disgust which Sal only rolled his eyes at this and shook his head.

"You know I'm going to attack you next after this…" Sal said as he turned to Tai. "This is a game where you win by crushing the other side," Sal added which got a hum from Maize.

"Well, someone's as ruthless as I expected an Atlesian to be." Maize put in and got a shrug from Sal. "Anyone has anything better they'd like to add? Because all things considered? I have NO regrets about stealing a Bullhead. The only thing I regret is people had to get hurt doing it." Maize stated as Raven hummed.

"You don't regret us crashing it on the front lawn of Beacon?" Raven asked with a raised eyebrow while tapping on her helmet.

"You didn't have fun getting back home?" Maize questioned while he looked at his cards.

"Hmm… Somewhat." Raven said with a smirk tugging at her lips. "Yes, I did. Life as a Huntress is far different from what I imagined." Raven said as Sal rolled his eyes.

"We're in training," Sal stated while Tai and Maize smiled.

"Well, if this is training?" Maize questioned the other members of RUST. "Then sign me up for the rest of this… I can't believe we got 2 super serious missions in a few weeks and such." Maize stated before cracking his knuckles.

"Easy, buddy," Tai said and checked his wall. "We can't just rush into danger all the time. We're still rookies." Tai added as Maize hummed

"If we don't get into danger now and again?" Raven said while shaking her head back and forth. "We won't grow as people. You can't become more experienced if you spend all your time off the battlefield." Raven put in which caused Maize to hum.

"Much as I hate to admit it?" Maize questioned as he rolled his dice to try and rebuild the wall. "She's right. We're huntsmen, Tai. We need to learn to fight and continue to grow as people. Huntsmen protect people, they don't always do that with words or such. They do it by beating the crap out of Grimm or other people." Maize stated and checked his cards.

"Just saying," Tai said and let out a yawn before looking at Maize. "Maybe we should push this for another night. It's getting late and I don't feel like playing right now." Tai said while Maize shrugged and hummed.

"Fair enough." Maize stated while he cracked his neck and then stood up to walk to his bed. "I'll see you guys tomorrow. I'm going to hit the hay." Maize added while he sighed.

Raven hummed and allowed Sai to pack up the board game. She cracked her back and walked to the bed, she cursed as her foot almost caught on the bed. Maize gazed at her and then shrugged before he looked at his bed and then slowly climbed into his bed.

"Smooth." Maize muttered under his breath with garnered a death stare from Raven.

That which fizzled out as the girl had no energy left in her body.

Maize let out his yawn and then plopped into his bed before Sal shut off the lights.

"Night, RUST." Maize said and slowly drifted off to sleep while Raven grumbled and rubbed at her wounded foot.

"Damn bed," Raven muttered to herself before sighing. She then started to pull the covers up to her.

She looked over at Maize's bed as her crimson eyes slowly fluttered shut. She let out a yawn while sighing.

It would be a few minutes before she passed out.
