Two Worlds, Two Souls

Chapter 11: Puzzles Almighty! Part 1

Frisk's Point of View:

My sister and I eagerly followed after the two skeletons that were leading us toward some apparent puzzles and the town of Snowdin. Angel and I couldn't see Sans or Papyrus for a while now, but we kept on the path that they'd showed us to follow.

Only once or twice had we gone the wrong way, but quickly we were led to dead ends that forced us to turn around. One had been a river with a pole line with a number attached to it, some monster had left it for someone to call him. My sister decided it was best not to call. Another had been a spot on the top of a cliff where a snowman stood watching over the mountain's edge. He was a kind monster that wanted to explore the world but had no way of doing so. We felt bad for him, but there was nothing we could do, so we left after a few minutes of being with him.

My sister and I had traveled for a while, making it deeper on the path and quite a distance away from the ruins we came from where Toriel stayed behind. We had looked back once or twice to see how far we'd come and actually we could see the mountain from where we were, but it was so tiny, miles away from us.

As much as I was enjoying this new freedom and a chance at living here, I missed Toriel. She reminded me a lot of our mom, just… a bit more involved than our mother had been had been. Our mother, Cynthia, had been a gentle woman with a very relaxed personality and quite the high tolerance and patience for just about anything and everything. You had to do something incredibly terrible in order to make our mother hate you.

My sister took a lot after her while I took more after our dad, David. He was more of the actions first, talk later sort of guy. They say that opposites attract, and that's exactly what happened with our parents when they were children.

I missed them a lot sometimes…

I blinked my eyes as another sentry station came into sight as my sister and I approached another open path of area along the road we traveled. There was a sign that seemed to be placed before the hut about ten feet away that grabbed my attention. I hurried over to it, dragging my sister along with me.

Absolutely no moving, it read.

I blinked and turned to look up at my sister. She was confused by the sign as well. We glanced at it, reading it over and over again. Seeing if there was some sort of hidden message in between the cracks or on the back side, yet there was none.

I tilted my head to my sister. "I'm confused."

"You're not the only one, Frisk." My sister cautiously looked ahead to the sentry stand and narrowed her eyes. "There's someone in there."

My eyes widened. "Can you feel them?"

She nodded, a finger hovering close to her lips to motion me to be quiet. She cautiously moved forward, gently pulling me along, trying to keep as quiet as possible. The crunching of the snow hardly made a sound under our shoes as we moved, stepping on our toes to avoid making loud noises. As we stepped before the station, my sister halted and froze, my eyes followed her own as a dog seemed to peak its head out over the railing. It reminded me more of a raccoon more than a dog when I saw its fur was like a mask over its face. Its clothes were weird, a vest like shirt with a cute puppy face on it and polka dot pants covered it as we watched it step out of the hut. We didn't move as my sister watched it, but never did its eyes focus on us. Its eyes were so faded of color, they looked like a blind person who had those pale blue coloring for eyes where they couldn't see anything.

Maybe he was blind?

"Did something move?" The dog, seemingly a male, spoke up for the first time. "I can only see moving things. If something was moving, let's say… a human… I'll make sure it never moves again!"

The dog like monster quickly jumped the railing of the sentry post and pulled out two swords that it had over its shoulder to fight with. It swung wildly around its body, nearly hitting my sister and I. I squealed and stepped backward to avoid being hit, my sister grabbed me and jumped backward.

"Where did you go?!" The monster growled as it swung around, looking for us, but its eye sight was still so bad it didn't seem to pick up on us. As soon as we stopped moving, my sister still held an iron grip on me as we avoided the monster before us.

"You okay Frisk?" My sister whispered in my ear, I could feel her breath on my face as she tried to hide all movement from the enemy before us.

"Yeah…" We cautiously watched from a distance as the monster searched. "I guess he can't see us?"

"Doesn't look like it. His eyes are white, and that can indicate a blind person." My sister gave him a look of displeasure. "I just hope that everyone doesn't have to deal with that…"

I slowly looked back at her and whispered, "What do we do-"

In that same moment, the monster powered up an attack. Its speed caught us by surprise and a blue attack came racing at us. The bright blue color came over us and we froze due to the suddenness of it. The attack raced right though us and passed us to the trees, my sister then whipped her head behind us to look and saw the attack faze through all of them except for a tree branched that moved due to the wind. It was sliced clean off of the tree only so many feet back.

"It didn't hurt us?" My sister questioned softly.

I tried to hide my squeal behind my hands. The signs words had come back into my mind. "It's cuz we didn't move! Remember the sign?"

"No moving…" My sister pondered for a moment before she stepped back cautiously from the raging monster. "If we don't move when he uses a blue magical attack, we don't get hurt."

"But how do we get by him?" I felt my sister place me down then as we were a few feet away, out of the range of the sweep of the swords in the monster's hands. She still kept her hand close to grab me in case of anything.

I thought about it. It was a dog monster we were facing, what if it was no different than any other dog and liked to be pet? Would that make it happy? Stop it? Or maybe scare it?

My sister looked down at me and saw the mischievousness in my expression as I looked at the monster. "Frisk, whatever it is your thinking, no."

"Oh come on, at least let me try!" I pouted at her, meanwhile the dog monster still hadn't noticed us from our hushed voices and stilled actions.

"No Frisk."

"Angel…" She wasn't looking at me while she watched the dog, so I took that chance to leap out of her reach.

Her eyes widened as she saw me rush forward. "Frisk!"

Before she could move, I was next to the dog, under its arm and I patted its back like I would any puppy I ran into. The monster instantly dropped its swords and seemed to freak out at the touch.

"I've been pet!" He screeched and jumped from his spot, landing into the side of the sentry station. "Pot! Pat! Pet!"

He crawled into the station and carefully looked around to see us, but his eyes still couldn't pick up on either of the two humans who stood a few yards away. He fearfully curled into the station, muttering something about being pet by nothing and needed dog treats before sinking into the tiny building.
I proudly smirked at my accomplishment while my sister snarled, unhappy with what I'd done. I'd always been more of a risk taker then she ever was when it came to action. I was more of daddy's girl, being his right-hand girl in everything.

A smack to the back of my head had me yelping and no longer beaming at my accomplishment.

"Grounded."

"What?!" I snarled back up at my sister. Why was she so mad? I figured out how to beat the monster without hurting him or us. That was a good thing! "But-"

"You could have gotten hurt from rushing in like that. Think a little Frisk! I realize that we're out here to make friends and get along with them and I pushed us in that direction, but damn it, don't rush out ahead without a plan or talking with me first! You had me worried sick when you darted out! You have no idea how close he was to taking off the top of your head!"

I whined at her, hoping she actually be a bit happier than that. I could see her point, but it solved the problem, right?

"Angel…"

She sighed and crossed her arms. "I'm mad, your still grounded, but I will admit it was good to learn those two features. About the blue attacks and petting them is no different than a normal dog." She untangled her arms and reached out for my hand. "Come on, we still need to head out after Sans and Papyrus."

"Fine." I pouted but listened. My sister was normally such a calm person and one that wasn't one to get angry, but even she had her limits. I wished often that she'd just trust me on occasion. Everything I know was mostly from her or what I remembered from our parents.

Oh, my eyes widened as I thought. Then that makes sense a bit why she didn't trust me… Dad…

I kept quiet for a bit as my sister marched the way down the path before us. She was still mad at me it seemed and I'm sure it was going to be that way for a while. She was always overly sensitive to those kinds of things after we ran away. It was almost stranger to see her opening up.

My sister was not one to trust others, she had always had us be so careful after our parents died and Grandma was lost to her coma. I missed all of them… I wished Grandma was still alive so we had a home to go back to, something more to fight for then just each other. A reason to want to leave.

I wanted to leave the underground… but at the same time I didn't. It was a scary new place that I wasn't sure about of the most part, at least, not in the beginning. As Angel seemed to be calm down here, the idea of living here did grow on me, but what worried me was the monsters Tori told us about that would be after us, trying to kill us to break the barrier. And yet, my sister was the one who wanted to befriend all the monsters and try to live down here peacefully.

I never said it before, but I always felt like the monsters would never allow that. Even with our previous experiences with Tori and Sans, and this Papyrus guy didn't seem to bad either, I still wasn't sure. I never voiced my concerns to my sister though. She didn't need to have them on top of her own. Letting her speculate over what was bothering me instead was a much more easier option.

Besides, she actually had befriended one already, and Sans was a really cool guy.

Angel had noted before that just having one monster as a friend could begin to sway others. Tori also mentioned that Snowdin, the town we were heading toward, was the most likely of them all to accept us. Having an entire town on our side to affect others, like a wildfire taking over fields at a time, would be amazing if that actually took place.

Besides, as freaky as this place was, it was also cool. I couldn't wait to see more.

"You're so lazy! You were napping all night!"

The angry cry of Papyrus caught our attention and we lifted our heads to the exposed snowy area on the side of a cliff. Before us was Sans and Papyrus in a semi heated debate only twenty feet away or so. Sans was looking bored at the conversation somewhat, seemingly tired as he stood and listened to Papyrus' ranting.

Sans almost seem to roll his eye sockets. "I think that's called sleepin'."

"Excuses, excuses!" Papyrus looked away then and his eye sockets caught our figures walking in close. My sister stopped us at a certain point and I looked to see why. There was no way she wanted to be so far away from Sans of all people after all the flirting those two did.

I glanced over at my sister in question but before I could even ask, she seemed to know what I was thinking.

"Look down."

I followed her words.

Below us was a dramatically drawn line to be obvious in the snow as a spot to stop, there also was a sign that had been left to the side of my sister. It read: Humans! Stop on this line and prepare for the first puzzle!

How could I have missed that?!

My sister giggled as if she knew what I was thinking. "You weren't paying attention, Frisky."

I hated how my sister seemed to know everything…

Sans seemed to perk up at the sight of my sister, shoving his hands into his pockets and focusing in on her. My sister smiled at Sans for a moment, acknowledging him, before focusing on Papyrus to hide that the two of them knew each other.

"Oh ho! The humans arrive!" Papyrus cheered as he saw us enter the large field he had. "In order to stop you, my brother and I have created some puzzles! I think you will find this one… quite shocking."

I cringed while my sister laughed at the terrible jokes that made me cringe.

"For you see this is the invisible… electricity maze!" Papyrus gestured to the space before us with a wide grin. A shiny orb was in his hands that he pointed to. "When you touch the walls of this maze, this orb will administer a hearty zap! Sound like fun? Because, the amount of fun you will probably have is actually rather small I think…"

The look on Papyrus' face caused my sister and I to look at each other. He seemed to harbor a face of slight worry as he thought about his plan. Being electrocuted didn't sound very fun… I could only hope that Sans had a plan for this…

"Okay!" Papyrus shook off whatever fears he had before and gestured us to walk forward. "You can go now!"

Not even thinking about the consequences, I stepped forward, crossing the line. My sister grabbed me quickly, but I'd already felt the wire under my foot. I flinched, waiting to get zapped, but in turn we saw Papyrus get shocked instead of us. He let out a startled yelp, leaping into the air. Once I pulled back my foot, the shock stopped and Papyrus looked slightly charcoaled as he stood there.

He whipped around onto Sans in an instant.

"Sans! What did you do!"

His brother pulled a boney finger from the warm coat pocket it was nestled in and pointed to us across the way. "I think the humans have to hold the orb."

Papyrus' anger seemed to instantly evaporate as he nodded enthusiastically at his older brother. "Oh, okay."

The younger skeleton hurried over to Angel and I, but I was shocked to see the creative way that he walked over to us, leaving large digs of snow turned up to show us the path through the very maze we weren't sure how to pass. I glanced at Angel, but she said nothing as to avoid telling the skeleton what he was doing to unconsciously help us.

Papyrus slowed himself to a stop before he handed over the orb to my sister. He set it into her hands haphazardly that she nearly dropped it. Once it was steady in her hands, Papyrus seemed pleased with himself.

"Hold this please!" And before we could utter a word, he hurried back the same way, making the path even more dramatically noticeable. Yet the eager monster seemed not to notice, even if the rest of us here did. Sans watched the snow, a single chuckle coming out of him while he shook his head at his brother.

"Okay!" Papyrus said as he made back to the side of his brother. "Try now."

With the orb in hand, my sister grabbed my hand and led me along the path that Papyrus had marked out for us with his feet. She refused to stray even an inch from that path, thought she tried to keep her eyes mostly on Papyrus if she could. She didn't want him to discover that she knew where to step because of him. She was trying to use it to her advantage as much as possible.

There were a few dips and turns in the maze, Papyrus had made it so you had to travel over half of the entire field before us just simply to get to the other side. I remember at one point where my sister had almost made it to Sans side, but there were a few feet between them that Papyrus hadn't walked, and she didn't dare to transverse it. Though I saw her give him a look as she came in close. She was careful with her expressions, but the two of them had some kind of unspoken bond between them. They knew what the other was thinking before anyone else.

"Incredible!" Papyrus exclaimed as my sister and I made it to the end. "You slippery snails! You solved it so easily… too easily. However, the next puzzle will not be so easy, it is designed by my brother, Sans! You will surely be confounded. I know I am. Nye Heh!"

Papyrus once more took off haphazardly away from us; heading to where I guess was another spot where another puzzle would be waiting. Both my sister and I then glanced to the brother that remained behind and chuckled at us.

"Hey, thanks." Sans grinned in accomplishment as he watched his brother from up the mountain. "My brother seems like he's havin' fun."

"Is he alright though?" my sister asked him. "He did get electrocuted by the maze..."

Sans waved off her worry. "Nah, don't worry about him. He knows healin' magic well enough; his wounds are already healed probably."

I snickered at them. "Your brother is funny. Is he always like that?"

"Yeah, Pap's always like that." Sans laughed as his eye trailed away from us and again looked to see where Papyrus was ahead, vaguely hearing him call out from below and Sans began to move, albeit only a few steps. "By the way, did you see that weird outfit he's wearin'? We made that a few weeks ago for a costume party. He hasn't worn anythin' else since… keeps callin' it his 'battle body'."

My sister was thinking it over for a moment, not sure if she should say anything about it being funny or a good thing. She didn't want to insult him, but I wasn't her.

I giggled at him behind my hands. "I hope he doesn't try to capture us, he seems like someone I'd like to play with."

"He is pretty cool, isn't he?" Sans agreed.

My sister sighed. "I'd feel bad for him if you got your hands on him Frisk." My sister narrowed her eyes and patted Sans' shoulder. "Watch out for her, mischief is her calling."

"Oh really?" Sans' eye sockets glittered in merit. "You and me I think are gonna be best friends there, I love teasin' Pap as I'm sure you can tell."

I watched my sister pout at him. "Are you replacing me, Darling?"

His eyes softened at her. "Never, Precious."

I felt sick to my stomach as I watched them and gagged at the two giggling adults. "Ugg! Get a room you two! I liked this better before you started flirting!"

My sister blushed lightly, but still gave me a wicked grin. "Good, then I know how to unnerve you."

"Welp, I'm headin' out ahead before Pap thinks anythin'." Sans chuckled before he ducked around a rock, saluting us. "See ya at the next 'puzzle'."

I hurried after him to see his vanishing trick, but before I knew it, the area behind the bolder was vacant. I pouted in frustration before I looked over at my sister.

"God, does he have to do that?"

My sister only seemed tickled pink from my moaning about Sans' actions. I was angered by that, even as she enjoyed it. I don't think she could get mad at him for whatever reason. She was too pleased with her 'new friend'.

I didn't know if I should wave it off or feel jealous due to all the years I spent alone with my sister…

"Come on, Frisk." My sister held out her hand for me. "Let's keep going. We don't want to keep the two of them waiting."

I gave her a face of displeasure. "You're enjoying this too much."

She rolled her eyes at me. "And you're not enjoying it enough."

We held hands regardless.

My sister and I continued along the path that led down the mountain. It was easy to see where to walk after seeing the way Papyrus had pulled up the snow on the path, making deep dredges for us to be able to walk in without getting too much snow on us. I found it really fun to jump from one large dig in the snow to the next, even if I was pulling on my sister's hand a bit.

My sister hardly seemed to mind however. She was the kind of person who as long as she was spending time with you, didn't quite care about the activity to a certain degree. She'd always been like that, always the protector or someone to trust. As long as I was happy, that had been all that mattered to her.

She really was a great sister, and maybe I shouldn't have teased her as much as I normally did, but that was just the way we communicated. I know the first time I acted like this to her she freaked out and had to go talk to Mom. Our mother had assured her there was nothing wrong with me and that I wasn't angry. I was just coming into my own personality. Like I'd noted before, I was a lot like our father. He was a tease all the time, and that's just how I liked to be.

Acting like that also made me feel a lot closer to him, even after he'd passed on.

And Angel acted like our mother. It was really cool how we had personalities just like them. It helped us remember them a bit better.

Something caught my eye as we continued to make our way down the path. Just a short way from the path Papyrus had created for us stood what appeared to be an ice cream stand. It had a normal set up of the metal box to keep the treat cool and an umbrella (striped yellow and red of course to stand out from the snow) above to attract people.

The vendor that seemed to run it was wearing clothes of the same colors as the umbrella, yellow and red. His fur was a rich blue and his hair almost reminded me of tentacles from an octopus without the suction cups on them, though he seemed to be more a bunny with wild hair. He looked really bummed out here in the middle of nowhere with no business.

As soon as he saw us however, his coal like eyes seemed to shine a bit brighter.

"Oh, my goodness! Customers!" He greeted us kindly. "Would the two of you like a nice cream? There only fifteen gold per cone."

I eagerly looked up at my sister who held onto the money we were given. Toriel had scrapped together a few hundred gold coins for us to buy anything once we were out here. My sister had been given the money since she was older and very careful with spending while I was… not exactly sure if I'd be bad or not, but I'd like to think I was decent!

However, a nice cream sounded yummy…

"Frisk…"

"Come on Angel, just one to share. Please?"

"We need to save our money."

"Come on, one nice cream isn't going to hurt us that badly! We can share it instead of eating two!"

She pouted at me. "Well… Sans did promise us a hot meal later… but do you really want a nice cream in this cold area? Won't that make you even colder?"

"Not with the way we're trucking along!" I shook my head eagerly. "Please? Come on… you never let me have the toy I always wanted. A nice cream is food! Not a toy!"

My sister groaned and reached into her bag to look at the money we had on hand. She looked over the coins we'd been given. All the coins were different sizes and shapes in order to tell how much they were worth. My sister pulled out a small coin that had the number 'fifty' on it.

"Can you break a fifty?"

"Of course!" The man reached into his cart and first gave my sister the change for her coin that was worth fifty before handing a small cone of ice cream over to me. It reminded me of a scoop of ice cream from the surface. It was a creamy yellow in color. I squealed in eagerness and took a bite.

It was vanilla… I hadn't had something so sweet in so long…

Just as soon as I'd taken that bite, little crystals of magic seemed to float up from the treat into the air before me with a small message in their air. Hoping you have a merry day. The message caught me off guard that I almost dropped the cone, and if it had been anything but food, I would have.

"Angel! You should have a bite too!" I tried to pass my sister the cone in my hands, or at least get her to try it. "You love sweets!"

"Alright, alright." My sister placed a hand over mine and took a small bite of the sweet treat once she had taken care of reorganizing her bag with the change she had been given. She took a small bite, which made me frown. I remembered just how much my sister loved sweets. Before we ended up on the streets, my sister loved to bake and cook. She absolutely adored them. I loved what she would make. What I wouldn't give to have another snickerdoodle.

She hummed in agreement with me. "It's very yummy. Thank you."

I pouted at her. "Don't you want some more?"

"I'm fine Frisky, but thanks." She turned to the man who had taken care of our treat. "Thank you very much."

"Of course!" He waved to us. "Have a great day!"

I sucked on the treat, though I wished that my sister would have had some more. Perhaps at another point if we ever got a chance to use a kitchen again, maybe she would bake?

Later That Morning:

It was a good half hour before we made it to the next stop where the skeleton brothers stood waiting for us at the next puzzle. I had finished the nice cream cone a long time ago and it settled in my belly happily. I always loved to eat after Mom or Angel baked anything, they certainly knew their way around a kitchen and with food.

It was something I really looked forward to after school most days, since my sister and mother were always home before Dad and me.

Papyrus stood in front of another area that seemed empty to us, but we stayed behind where the line he'd written out for us again before we got too close. I saw the younger brother grin in anticipation as we stood waiting, again holding hands to stay together.

"Humans! I hope you're ready for-" Papyrus cut himself off when he looked about the area. My sister and I did the same thing, only to notice a ripped piece of white paper in the center of the squared off area before us.

Was that paper our puzzle?

"Sans!" Papyrus screeched. "Where's the puzzle?"

The elder brother pointed his boney finger at the paper before us only ten feet away from them. "It's right there, on the ground. Trust me, there's no way they can get past this one."

My sister and I however, didn't move right at that moment, not sure if we should be nervous, but my sister glanced at Sans, who had a relaxed look on his face.

"Go on, Human. It's right there."

When Sans gave us the encouragement, my sister then nodded and allowed us to walk past the line that Papyrus had drawn out for us. My sister and I approached the paper and kneeled down before it to take a look. It was settled against the snow in a way that was facing us, with a small rock set on it to keep the light wind from blowing it away.

I took one look at it and noticed it was a crossword puzzle.

"What?" I blinked and looked over at my sister who seemed to snort as she looked at it before hiding her face behind the paper.

"Oh my! Brother, what did you give her?" Papyrus demanded as he watched us. "That must be an amazing puzzle!"

Sans let his left eye glance at his younger brother in merit. "That's tellin' Pap, let her have a moment."

In the same moment, my sister stood and left the puzzle where it sat and approached the brothers. Papyrus' jaw dropped and he whipped back at his brother. The puzzle didn't work.

"Sans! That didn't do anything!"

Sans rubbed the back of his head, as if trying to look confused. "Opps, I knew I should have used today's crossword instead."

"Wha-?" Papyrus gasped. "Crossword? I can't believe you said that! In my opinion… junior jumble is easily the hardest."

Sans didn't even try to hide his shock, nor his disagreement. "What? Really, dude? That easy-peasy word scramble? That's for baby bones."

Papyrus narrowed his eye sockets in retaliation before turning from his brother. "Unbelievable."

Angel and I glanced at each other, not exactly sure what we should be worriedly about. It was clear that we couldn't move on until after they had settled whatever it was going on between them. They were kind of our directions to Snowdin. Until one of them pointed us in the right direction (which we kinda assumed was the obvious path that stood out behind them) we remained in our same spots.

"Humans!" Papyrus suddenly grabbed our attention and pulled us back to the 'argument' at hand. "Solve this dispute!"

I looked between the two of them before looking over at my sister in confusion. Angel gave me a look as if trying to understand what I was thinking. When she couldn't, she leaned down and whispered in my ear: "what's wrong?"

"I know what a crossword is… but what's a… junior jumble?"

"Basically, it's where a word has all its letters jumbled up and you have to figure out what the word is supposed to be." She curled some of her hair behind her ear so she could hear me better while we talked so the brothers didn't know what we were talking about. "I don't remember you ever playing that when you were younger. You always liked 'go fish' more than anything. I was always more of a fan of 'cribbage' and 'rummy'. We liked games with numbers rather than letters or words."

"Oh."

"But I have to agree with Sans. Crosswords are harder, especially when you need to know material about the world to go with the clues for the words. Junior jumble only has you unscrambling the words. I always found it too easy."

"Since I don't really know, I'll just go with your answer, this time anyway."

"Gee, well aren't you a peach?"

My sister snorted at my comment before the two of us turned back to face the brothers. It seemed in that moment that Sans actually was trying to fight this argument rather than just trying to appease his younger brother.

"Well? Humans?"

I could tell the vein on my sister's head was going to get a little larger from the way he kept calling us 'humans'. It was like associating us with a breed, which I knew she didn't like. She would call him out on it at some point if he kept this up.

"Before I give you our answer, I'd like to note that I'd prefer you called us by our names instead of 'humans' all the time." My sister tried to keep on a calm face while she spoke to the younger skeleton. "My name is Angel and my sister is Frisk. Now that I've told you that, we unfortunately have to side with Sans, Papyrus. Crosswords are much harder."

Papyrus pouted and turned to look at his brother who merely smirked at him. "You three are weird! Crosswords are so easy! It's the same solution every time!"

One solution? I blinked at him. "What?"

"I just fill all the boxes in with the letter 'z'." Papyrus continued without missing a beat. "Because every time I look at the crossword… all I can do is snore! Nye heh heh!"

It seemed the conversation was over that point. Papyrus took off down the mountain path behind us. As we were slowly descending and reach each new puzzle, we seemed to get closer to some small village that we could just start to see in the distance on the mountain's edge and the end of this climate.

"Sorry about him, I'll talk to Pap at the next puzzle." Sans walked closer to us to fill the gap of space between him and my sister. "And uh… Papyrus… finds difficulty in interestin' places. Yesterday, he got stumped tryin' to 'solve' the horoscope."

My sister sighed as she heard that. "Oh my…"

My jaw dropped instead. "He tried to solve a horoscope?"

Sans snorted before he stepped away and pointed in the direction Papyrus left. "Yeah. Anyway, follow this path and you'll see a sentry station up ahead. Take a break there before you head to the next puzzle, you two have been at it for a few hours now."

Before we could get in a word edgewise, Sans ducked behind a pile of snow that was just as tall as him. This time, when I ran in close, I could see a faint blue glow behind the snow before it vanished, and Sans was too. Just like before.

"Come on Frisk, let's find this station so we can rest." My sister stretched her arms above her head and then behind her back. I could hear some popping coming from her bones as she did so. "I don't know about you, but I could sit for a few minutes, we've been walking for quite the while."

"Yeah… and Papyrus I bet is waiting for us to 'solve' the next puzzle." I couldn't help but roll my eyes. "Those two are weird."

"Perhaps, but they may be the people we need to know so we can live down here." My sister ruffled my hair and I whined at her in retaliation. "I hope things keep going well…"

Even though I was frustrated at her ruffling my hair, I still took her hand, knowing her need for contact to help her survive the worry. "Yeah…"

ShunGod: Teleporting to the next weekend? But that's too easy! Besides that also means the story would be over too quickly! My goodness you and Mystic Girl certainly like to have me give more then I should. She used to beg me for multiple chapters at a time when I didn't have them ready or wanted to space them out so she could enjoy them. Are you plotting with her?

Thank you all so much for reading! Please don't forget to review! We'd love to hear what you have to say! Love you all and see you next week!
