Two Worlds, Two Souls

Chapter 44: The Trial

Angel's Point of View:

"Brother, must you leave?" Papyrus pouted as Sans and I stood together before the front door.

It had been exactly a week since I was able to assist Sans escaping the thugs that were stealing money and had kidnapped my friend. He had taken the entire week off from work and rested up at home, not allowed to use magic of any sort while we recovered and mostly just slept it away, after Papyrus got to him after all.

Young Papyrus was so thrilled to see his brother again that he nearly refused to let go of Sans, let alone leave him alone for the first few days of the older brother being home. Papyrus was scared nearly to death at the thought of losing his brother again, which Sans, Frisk and I had to spend all week reminding him that he would be okay.

Now that Sans had recovered enough to use his magic again without falling asleep immediately, Asgore had called us in for me to meet the members of the jury as well as decide on the punishment for those involved in the theft. I was eager to discover about the process as well as see the men who harmed Sans be put away for their actions.

"Sorry Bro, ya know how King Fluffybuns gets."

I still couldn't believe that he used that nickname for the king…

"But… you won't be gone long, right?" My sister questioned worriedly from beside Papyrus. I could understand her worry. It wasn't all that long ago that Sans left just for a bite to eat and didn't come back for five days. I knew she was worried that something would happen to the two of us, but we would be together rather than apart.

"Asgore needs us to give another report on the event, from each of us." I kneeled down to face my sister more promptly. Even as she was growing strongly in the last few months now that she was nearly a teen and eating better than before, she still only came up to my chest. Given a few more years and she would possibly match me in height, or come fairly close. She had always been a late bloomer in the family… "I'll be with Sans and he's going to be with me. We'll watch out for each other, have lunch with the king, and should return in a few hours. We don't plan to stay out much longer than four. But if we don't let you know by then that we're staying out later, you can ground us when we get home, okay?"

"…Fine."

"We'll try ta check in every hour or so." Sans chuckled as he motioned his brother toward him, hugging him close. "We'll be okay Pap, I promise we'll be back."

And that seemed to make Papyrus ease a bit.

It was a well-known fact that Sans hated promises and used them very cautiously. If Sans was making a promise, it was one he knew he could and would complete without fail. Hearing those words, I could see eased some of Papyrus' worry that his brother planned to be more careful than normal.

"…Okay. I believe you, Brother." Papyrus pulled back before sitting with Frisk on the couch. "We shall remain here until you return."

"Thanks Pap." Sans pulled back and offered an arm to me. "Let's get this over with, Precious."

"Of course, Darling." Quickly taking his arm in mine, we had only a moment to hear the younger ones groan at the pet names for each other we had before Sans' teleported and we landed right at the foot of the castle.

Oh come on, we had to irritate them just a tad.

Following the same cobblestone steps I was led out on by King Asgore himself, Sans and I causally walked into the castle. We passed the guards that seemed to pay us no mind other than a quickly once over before we passed by the large wooden doors that looked older and sturdier then any place I'd ever seen.

Sans led me silently down a series of hallways inside the castle before we seemed to come to a room at the back. I could see the entrance we were about to enter looked over the gardens that Asgore planed himself, filled to the brim with yellow flowers that I was sure his tea had been made of.

I shook myself from my momentary appreciation of the garden before following Sans into a closed off room that two guards stood at attention. Sans casually strolled through the door and I followed suit quickly before the door was rapidly shut behind us. I gasped at the darkness in the room before I blinked at the blinding blue light given off.

"Over here, Rav." I glanced up from where I'd hidden my face in my arm to see Sans lighting the way with a bone or two that glowed blue. I quickly followed him, holding onto his arm again before I was led along the long corridor like room surrounded by darkness. Sans didn't say much else until we made it to another door about twenty or so feet away which Sans was quick to open.

Beyond the dark door was an endless stream of light that came from inside from bright snow white crystals. I had to shield my eyes for a moment while Sans led me in, covering his own eyes.

"Would it of killed ya to cut down on the lights until we adjust?"

That was a new voice I wasn't used to.

Finally able to look, the bright room was surrounded by the king himself and nine others that stood here. Quickly glancing around the room, that seemed as bare as anything other than the blinding crystals and the people in it, I did notice at least one person that I recognized.

"Grillby?" The fire monster showed me a small smile as he stood there in his normal uniform of his vest, white dress shirt and slacks. His arms were crossed before he motioned me to go and stand by him, which Sans happily allowed. Releasing my arm, I quickly stood next to the fire monsters and Sans joined beside us while others seemed to gather.

"It's exciting to have you join us, Ravie." Grillby gave me a nod before standing up strait again and I took a moment to glance around the room to see who exactly was with us.

Of the eight other monsters that I didn't recognize, all of them seemed to be different types of people in shape and form. The first was a spider looking woman who was short, even shorter than myself as she stood at nearly my chest height. Her skin was lavender in color while five eyes appeared upon her head, each of them more of a violet in hue. Her hair was a silky black with indigo hues to it pulled up into identical pigtails on either side of her head. An adorable dress covered her body that was red in color that hugged her upper body and puffed out at her hips. Six arms were on her, three on each side that seemed to multitask holding cups of tea that she was pouring for those around the area that she was passing out. She giggled as she passed me one before moving on to others.

The second reminded me of a morph between a bat and a stingray, and I could not tell their gender. They were a tad taller than me, being closer in height to the fire male at my side. Being a rich dark indigo in color, the creature sat on its long tail that seemed to have a glowing orb on the end of it. Eyes as intense as Undyne's, their golden color stared at me with mischief. A Cheshire like grin escaped their lips while their wings flapped around lightly, in-between the long veins of them appeared to be much brighter silvery-blue. A jet black shirt that seemed to have words on it "let's have some fun" along with an actual picture of the cat from Alice in Wonderland that their grin reminded me of. Jeans with a single pant leg covered the lower end of their tail. A hissy chuckle escaped them when I glanced to them before moving on.

Third in line appeared very shyly and nearly hid behind another member if they didn't hold her in place for me to get a good look at her. They appeared female and was very beautiful in her looks and reminded me of a mermaid, or a siren with all of her scales. Scales covered her body in a soft seafoam green color with rich cyan hair that flowed over her shoulders, but at very strange angles that varied between her chin and her chest. Little fins of her same scale color peaked out from her hair that seemed to represent her ears while a lone little antenna appeared from her scalp that had a glowing little ball like shape on the end of it, glowing a soft cyan blue that matched her hair. Two spikey looking fins seemed to protrude from her back while a casual grey dress hung from her shoulders on thin straps, one of the two of them threatening to fall off. She seemed to cower from me, and as to not intimidate her any more, I moved on.

The fourth person actually reminded me of a devil and again I couldn't tell their gender. A thin looking person stood there with worn black jeans, a too large for them poncho over their body that was an orangey red that matched their skin tone. Their face looked more like a mask the otherwise, but I could see the tiniest of dots for eyes moving about in the cross shaped eye lids (God didn't that look weird). They looked on calmly at me, offering a nod before they turned to the king and I to the next person.

Fifth down the line was actually a ghost, a small ghost who barely looked like she was taller than the length of my arm with a sky blue outline that looked at me. I hadn't seen too many ghosts before, but the one that stood there seemed a bit more girly from the giggling they were putting out. They seemed to be laughing at me as I looked around in astonishment of all the different kinds of people before I glanced away from her, feeling a bit flustered.

The sixth person giggled with a slight evil undertone to it. Looking up to them next, I saw a feline that shared the same height as me with a tail that whipped around ever so mockingly. Silky looking light brown fur peaked out from under the fine looking suit they wore, appearing very female with their overly large chest that they puffed out a bit at me. Hair that seemed more mahogany in color that was cut in a jagged manor around their neck and head bounced with their body and just jumped from one foot to the next in small increments. She seemed to almost scoff at me before turning her attention to the males that were on either side of myself, looking at them with a hungry look in her eyes, one that I didn't like.

Finally the last member surprised me to be this 'happy go lucky' bunny with blue fur that covered their body, appearing more male like with their broad shoulders. Dressed as a vendor it seemed with red slacks, a yellow button up shirt and red suspenders over it, he was dressed to impress. I almost thought he should have a little bowtie to go with his outfit much like Grillby wore would complement him and make him look even more dashing.

Even I couldn't help but think he looked rather adorable… and a tad attractive…

After a few moments of thinking about it. I did vaguely recognize him. He was the kind young man who sold my sister and I ice-no nice cream when we first came down into Snowdin back in October last year.

"Howdy there Ravie, Sans." The king quickly approached us both, gently weaving between the other members that stood before us. "I hope the two of you are feeling better."

"Course, Fluffybuns." I could see the king sweating at the nickname, even as Sans just chuckled at him. "Hey, just a fair warnin', this is the first time Pap's let me out of his sight since I came home and he's…"

"Worried," I supplied for him.

"Yeah, that." Sans nodded before turning back to the king. "He's expectin' updates from us every hour or else he'll be here tearin' down the castle lookin' for us."

"Of course, Sans," Asgore nodded to him quickly. "We'll do our best to be quick about this, though I think at this point it was more of an introduction for Ravie to meet the others as well as sentence the men. There's little need for a trial when there is multiple witnesses and enough evidence to fill half my castle."

"Got it." With a cut nod, Sans gestured to the seven others around me that I didn't know. "Ravie, this is everyone. Everyone, meet Ravie, my cuz. Introduce yourself since I'm too lazy."

"Ravie is very familiar with myself and my family, so there is no need." Grillby noted before glancing next to him at the petite spider lady who seemed to eagerly bounce beside him.

"But I'm excited to see you!" Racing forward, I was surprised with a tackle from the small purple lady. "I'm Muffet! A baker from over in Hotlands and I'm eager to ask you a lot of questions, Dearie! I had some of your baked goods from the Snowdin Fair and I was beyond surprised! You must share some secrets with me!"

"Better be careful, or she'll take all your cash too," the demon looking person said.

That made little Muffet hiss, barring some fangs from under her pretty little lips. "Oh be silent, Free!"

"Oh it's wonderful to meet you dear!" The ghost appeared next to me after that and offered a ghostly hand, pulling me from the argument after Muffet flew off of my body. "My name is Mapstablook, but most call me Mappy."

"Hi…"

"Shi shi! She looks like she's never met such forward people!" the monster with the large wingspan slithered over to me next. "But it's always nice to have a balance, too many crazy people might make us just as nuts! Name's Glyde. Do remember it, Toots."

"She might not even last all that long, so I wouldn't get too attached." The cat woman merely showed me a sassy look before her tail swished in slight irritation. "Whisk," is all she offered me for a name when the others glared at her.

I think…

"I swear we're all nice people!" The blue bunny bound forward then, taking my hand and shaking it roughly while the other members surrounded me. "Honest! I'm Hops by the way! I have this for you! A welcoming nice cream!"

In my hands was plopped a small little sweet treat that surprisingly hadn't melted in the time that I'm sure he'd been there. It looked very cute with the kid-ish design on the front of a underground citizen sucking on the same treat. I was quick to open it and eat it under my hood, so none could see in the blackness of magic.

It really was yummy. Frisk would have liked this one.

After carefully eating the treat, I noticed the nice words appeared carefully in the air, a soft white glow as they slowly rose before my face.

Someone is always thinking of you.

"That's so sweet…" I remembered a similar phrase being told to us as we walked around the path to Snowdin all those months ago. The sweet message that she'd gawked at before us while we'd left Hops after the purchase.

"Oh thank you!" The comment left the bunny beaming with pride, ecstatic at my comment. "I try really hard when I make and sell my nice cream! I'm glad you like it!"

"Come now, little Shyren, introduce yourself." My attention was turned to the final one of the group, the siren looking woman who somewhat hid behind the king's arm then to block herself from my view. "Ravie is a very king young woman, I think you'll like her a lot."

The young woman still seemed to shyly hide from me, though I did attempt to wave at her when she finally felt brave enough to peak around the arm of the king. She quickly dove behind him again, but did appear again after a few moments.

"Well, this is everyone Ravie. We're happy to have you as a part of the team, though I do apologize that we must get instantly to work." Asgore seemed to frown at actually having us take place in this event, thought we all knew it had to be done. "Before we go out there, everyone has read the detailed report that Sans and Ravie have given about this case?"

"Shi! These creeps really got the sneak on our judge." Glyde was the first to comment with a hiss, seeming a bit more… unimpressed at the moment work was brought up. "How'd they get the jump on you anyway, Sans?"

The skeleton could only roll his eye lights at the male. He strangely didn't offer any jokes to change the mood. He was all serious, as I'm sure he was thinking the dark thoughts that what if it had been Papyrus instead of him. "Didn't know there was any more possessors underground. We hadn't seen one in so long that I never even calculated that as a factor. Once the bastard had a hold of me was I able ta piece everythin' together, but I was trapped until Rav got me out of there."

"I didn't even know a type of magic like that existed until I saw Sans like that…" I couldn't help but mutter.

"Yes, it is a very rare type of magic, held by few and there seems to be very little connections between those that have the gift and their families," Mappy stated as she floated between us. "It's a magic entirely random, so we always try to look into cases and children who don't show much in the lines of progress with magical abilities. Nearly all the time, we see them progress with their own families abilities eventually, but those who never do would be top candidates to check for this rare type."

"Yes, exactly." Asgore quickly responded. "Which is why we'll need to sentence the three of them. Ravie, I would like you to follow after Grillby to where you will stand in the judgement hall. Also, everyone will have a nickname, Sans is the judge while everyone else will have a color code name. Yours, Ravie, will be 'Red'."

"Yes sir." I lightly bowed my head to the king.

"Good, now everyone get into places and robe up. Also Grillby," the fire monster looked to the king. "Would you kindly briefly explain how the trial will go and give Ravie everyone's code name?"

"Yes, your majesty." The king then moved to show a chest in the room where Grillby grabbed a cloak from. Once he was covered and I could no longer see his bright flames from underneath the magic used to shroud him, Grillby walked away with me in tow, already covered since before I arrived. I glanced back quickly to look at Sans while he watched me. A quick wave of his boney hand was all I saw before Grillby pulled me from the blinding light room.

"We're about to enter the judgement hall. Stick close until I set you where you'll stand." Grillby's voice was soft as we left the room with only the two of us in the quiet hallway. "We don't want those ingrates to hear you."

"Okay." I tried to keep my voice as soft as his was, like the warm embers of a fire.

"The trial will be brief most likely as the king had mentioned. This is not really a place for them to stand up for themselves. They had plenty of time to do so as we were gathering information to turn around and stop what they were doing. We'd been watching them for months. They're wrapped up in Muffet's webs as to avoid escape prior to trial. They have a lengthy list of crimes that all three of them must account for, thievery, multiple counts of kidnapping, assault, escaping arrest and so on."

I blinked up at him. "Was there many who were treated just like Sans?"

I heard the older male groan. "We had at least four others we were able to relate to the case."

I couldn't stop the gasp from escaping me. "That many?!"

"Yes." Grillby halted us before we approached an open passageway, I could hear the groans and shouting coming from there. I could only assume that beyond the dramatic doorway into the dimly lit room that the three criminals awaited trial. "So I'll lead you to your spot. Once I tell you to stop, wait there and face the fools. If we need to communicate, Judge Sans will call out our code names. As we discussed, yours is 'red'. All of us have a color that represents our own skin tones or a color that means a lot to us. Such as I am 'green'."

His wife's flame color… "I see…"

"The others are as follows, Muffet is 'lavender', Glyde is 'silver', Shyren is 'coal', Free is 'black', Mappy is 'sky', Whisk is 'violet', and Hops is 'periwinkle'."

Periwinkle…?

Grillby must have noticed the long-paused moment from me and he sighed, a brief chuckle escaping him. "You can laugh at it later; the others are approaching. Let's go."

Struggling to hold back the giggle, I nodded and took a step forward as to follow. "Of course."

Grillby then led me into the judgement hall. The long hallway was over looked by windows that shone out into the bright crystal lit caverns that surrounded the capitol. Their glow was stark white and the three accused where wrapped up in thickly wrapped webbing in the center of one of those beams, no one unable to see them. Their mouths were covered with the same webbing to prevent them from talking or trying to fight their cases.

The other entrance of the hallway seemed to be cut off by curtains, but I had little other time to think before Grillby had whispered to me to stop.

I instantly had halted while he continued on, as if there had been no interaction between us.

I wasn't far from the door we'd come through, only a good thirty or so paces. Grillby kept walking and nearly made it behind the accused when the others seamlessly followed in. Everyone looked all the same with the dark cloaks that covered their bodies, none of us stood out and nearly all on the jury were the same size with the exception of Glyde and Mappy, who were drastically larger and smaller respectively. Those two I was able to identify quickly. Glyde's wingspan made him look bulky under the robes while Mappy floated just above the ground to keep it from dragging, as well as her cloak was slightly altered to accommodate for the fact that her arms were the size of only half a foot long.

The rest I could only speculate as everyone took his or her stands around the three we were about to sentence.

While we waited those few moments, I looked to the struggling fools that were before us. The three of them hardly seemed to be moving, or it could have been the binds that held them back. Muffet's spiders seemed to be hard at work applying layer after layer of web, the horse seemed the most covered due to his muscles and size. Their eyes were covered as well as their mouths, most likely to keep the trial moving. Asgore had noted that it was a trial just to decide their sentence, they couldn't fight back. Granted I saw their ears were left exposed, I could truly see the horse's moving around in all directions to hear anything that could give him some assistance in understanding their situation.

One last person came into the room then and I knew it was Sans. He had to stand out from the others and wore a white cloak that covered every portion of him. Sans stood only ten or so feet away from me while someone else was on his other side, Asgore nowhere to be seen.

Did he not judge them with us? Or was that our job while he did other things?

I wasn't sure, but I didn't have much time to think before I heard Sans speak, his voice was deeper and slightly masked by the magic I guessed was in his cloak.

"Trial three of year nineteen ninety-five. Trial of Sly Corona, Slick Viper and Harry Stall will now commence with listing of all acts against thee and continue to sentencing." Sans lifted his hooded head just enough to match eye line with Grillby. "Green, please list all that the offended have committed."

"Yes Judge," Grillby bowed his head before bringing about information on a paper to read. "The three before us have committed assault, kidnapping, robbery, and escaping arrest. To add fuel to the fire, they attacked you and your family, which would count as well of kidnapping and assaulting a high ranking official, which would lead to even a longer sentence."

"Shi! They even used it to their advantage to escape around the underground in a hurry." I heard Glyde from the further side of the room, he was only two spots away from Grillby, standing before the covered windows. His voice was hissing at the three. "Not cool."

"Indeed," the purring voice of Whisk came out from only a two spots to my left. "Which leads me to believe that their sentence should be long and dreadful."

That caused Sans to lift his head to where she stood. "And what would you suggest for punishment then, Violet?"

I swear I could have heard her purring in delight. "Starving them a bit wouldn't hurt."

"That inhumane!" I heard Hops from beside Grillby. "We can't just starve them!"

Whisk hardly seemed to be bothered by Hops' comment, most likely expecting it. "And what would you suggest, Periwinkle?"

"Please Violet, don't be so harsh." Mappy's motherly voice filtered into the room where she stood on Sans' other side, opposite of me. "Periwinkle merely wishes to provide a suitable punishment that will help these poor souls learn their lesson."

"Hump!" Whisk hardly seemed to care and I could almost hear the angry flick of her tail.

Carefully watching from the side, I could see that Muffet, Free and Shyren had yet to say anything besides myself. Perhaps the three of them only participated in certain cases, or perhaps the others were already so wrapped in this one that it was pointless for them to be involved.

What would be wise to do? Sentencing them would only do so much, and now that they've been at trial, they'd be more careful in the future about not being caught. We needed something to perhaps make them understand just how hard others worked and what will happen should others when they don't follow the rules. Hops method was too soft, and Whisk's was harsh, thought we could manipulate it to be more to a middle path of the two…

And then I remembered back to the history reports that Sans had given me back three days ago to know what we were dealing with. The three brats in front of us were spoiled rotten all their lives, so the value of hard work didn't come to them. Their parents always spoiled them with everything they wanted. Paying them regardless of whether they worked for their parents companies or not.

I remember spending many hours reviewing those reports to make sure I had all the information I could about how to handle them. I knew they were spoiled rich, each of them came from a high ranking officials that worked in the underground. Sly came from a family that owned the very banks he robed. The idea could have been thought of when he was 'working' for them, learning security codes and ways to break in since his family owned at least a few. It turned out afterword that Sly also only attacked the ones that his parents owned, which made more sense with him being able to use the passwords any everything to get in.

The other two, Slick and Harry, they came from hard working families that did everything they could to give their sons a wonderful life, but in the end of seemed to of backfired when the two of them had turned to petty crime as children. It was recorded in the books, even if charges were never pressed since their families paid all fines and community service off that those two or their ring leader would have had to do in repentance. Their parents somewhat brought that on themselves with how misguided they were to their children's actions.

I can see how that made them breed such thoughts of greed.

"I agree with Violet."

"WHAT?!" Hops' voice carried out over the room for everyone as they erupted into whispers. Only Sans stayed quiet as he looked with me, most likely with wide eye sockets.

"Red," I turned my head to Free as he seemed to speak up. "You realize how messed up that sounds, right?"

"I'm well aware how it sounds, however, Violet is onto something." Pointing my finger to the accused before us who squirmed under the light and attempted to see us as the judgment went about. "The three we're judging today are nothing more than ungrateful children who took advantage of their parent's love. They don't know the meaning of hard work because they never cared, they were paid to do nothing but fool around in their parents' companies while everyone else worked their butts off. Therefore, my plan is to make them work for everything. We won't starve them, so long as they work. They will have to work just like anyone else. They'll have a basic jobs, and earn set amounts, force them to budget. I also believe that instead of giving them a certain date of when they will be released; give them a certain amount that they have to pay."

I took a moment to let that settle in before looking around to everyone within the room. All eyes were on the new girl, which did feel quiet uncomfortable, but I believed this would be the best and most effective way to teach the monsters a lesson.

I turned back to Sans. "Judge, how much did they steal in total?"

Sans hummed for a moment, raising a clothed hand to his hidden chin. "I believe it was around five-hundred thousand gold. Why?"

"Make that the price for their freedom."

Shyren's squeal cut through the air, startling most of the others there as I laid out the conditions. The accused in the center were certainly surprised by my sentencing and were eager to disagree, even if they had no choice in the matter, which they would find out the hard way once we had completed our judging. Most were stunned at what I was suggesting, but a hearty laugh that bellowed out of Whisk at the end of the hallway drew our attention in.

"Well then, maybe you'll be here longer than I thought."

"That's actually a very reasonable punishment that doesn't take anything from them or cause harm." Free seemed to be content with the sentencing. "Anyone have any objections?"

The room became eerily quiet as many of the others thought over the deal. Even Hops was silent compared to how he was before. Weighing over what could be their punishment instead, this was actually something that was much less harmful and more along the lines of teaching, in a more… confined and most likely will never get free unless they turns their lives around kinda way.

Sans looked over all of the parties before he sighed. "It seems no one has any objections to Red's plan, so that will be it."

"Purrfect." Whisk giggled before she turned to Sans. "Shall we call this trial adjourned?"

"We will." Sans turned to one the only other cloak who hadn't spoken, who I could only assume was Muffet. "Lavender, have them escorted back to their cell while we inform the king of our decision and make plans for these felons."

With a quick salute, Muffet quickly landed into the area besides the three males we'd just sentenced. "Of course, Judge!"

"Everyone else, good work. Let's get out of here."

Sans led the charge of all of us out of the room, quickly we were led back into where we had all approached from only fifteen minutes prior. It was such a short court session that I was a bit surprised, but the king did warn us that it was just the sentencing, nothing more.

As soon as we had stepped out of the judgement hall and had made it back to the room where we'd been with Asgore before, all of them members continued pass to where another hallway was connected to the bright room we all met inside. Sans led the charge to the back where we passed through many locations, stepping by many staff that worked for Asgore. Many of those that were watching stared in awe, most likely never seeing us before in those moments or hardly seeing any one of the members of the jury or the judge before.

I was surprised when Sans led us into a large chamber at the back that felt more powerful than any other spot that I could feel in the castle. I could almost feel something pulsing through my feet that threw me a bit as I walked, not expecting it before I stood in a room filled with flowers from Asgore's garden. The same golden flowers he made tea with he seemed to surround himself with as he sat on the thrown. The poor king seemed to be nearly ready to doze off in his singular throne before he caught sight of our robes as we entered.

We must have been near the barrier that separated the mountain from the world of the humans... that must be the sensation I was feeling then...

It would make sense that the king sat right next to it, ready to fight off any intruders that invaded or be the first to lead the charge for their freedom...

"Ah! You all returned so soon?" Asgore sat up in his throne as he looked about us. "Was it an easy decision?"

"Red is the one who made it easy." Whisk was the one to respond, a purring sound to her voice. She sounded pleased. "She is the one who came up with the entire idea that those fools who don't understand how to work hard and appreciate what they have. They will work to earn every cent of amount they stole before they are released back into society, which makes it easier for us, since they will be condemned."

Asgore seemed surprised by this and turned to Sans. "And was the jury unanimous in this decision?"

My skeletal friend only shrugged in agreement. "Surprisin'ly."

"I see, well, I'm glad to hear that it went so well." Asgore then focused in on me. "Red, approach me. I will need your assistance with this sentencing and will need to instruct you. I would like you to follow me as well, Judge. The rest are dismissed."

"Yes, majesty." As quickly as we had all appeared in the room did the others vanished. When only the two of us remained, Asgore seemed to chuckle.

"Follow me you two and I will review what took place as well as what is required for the three of them. This would also be a good chance to message your family before we get distracted again."

A gratefulness filled my soul at that. "Thank you, my king. I'll just be a few moments."

Later That Afternoon:

"Brother! Angel! You're home!"

At the strike of four did Sans and I return to our home in Snowdin. The paperwork that the king made the two of us sign as well as organize the operation that would be for the accused was finally over with. We had to choose a section of the jail that would be used to facilitate the felons. They would only have the basics for now, just a small room that they would share. A single bathroom and a small kitchen space to put food. Only for today would they have food provided for them. Starting tomorrow, they would have to work and earn money. If they didn't, they would starve. This was not something that was easy to explain to each of the parents of the three accused.

Each had different reactions that the king relayed to us later while we watched from the distance. Some were distraught, not believing their children had actually committed the crimes we'd sentenced them with. Others were aggressive, nearly forcing the king to use his own magic to hold them back. Or have Sans and I intervene. They thought we had wrongly accused them for something they didn't do, or rather that the parents didn't want to admit that their children had done so. The final set were the quietest. I think they had truly accepted what had happened and were just so upset with their child and themselves that they were too stunned to act.

Since I had been the one to come up with the idea for the three, it would be my responsibility to journey to the capital here and there to see how their progress was going in addition to my other duties that Sans would discuss with me weekly with Grillby. We wouldn't have to report to Asgore until the end of each month with any findings or how the inmates were then doing unless something required an emergency meeting. Sans was certain that we wouldn't need that.

"Ey, Pap." The taller skeleton pulled us both into a tight hug before releasing us and allowing us back into our home. After doing a careful look around, we saw that my sister wasn't present. "Where's Frisky?"

"Oh? Little Frisk decided to take a shower. She and I had decided to practice magic earlier to pass the time after she got bored of beating me in a particular video game she really likes." Papyrus simply shrugged at that. "Of course, I simply let her win every time, nyeh heh. But-uh after that, she said she'd like to practice her magic, so I agreed to help her. She and I worked for the last while as Little Frisk used her chains to hold herself up in the air and swing from tree to tree. She also seemed to struggle with pulling the chains away from her body…"

"That's quite normal Papy." I pulled off my cloak and placed it at the door where Frisk's hung. "Most of those in our family spend years just trying to have the chains separate from us. Our magic is mostly defensive, but can be turned offensive. Though it takes an incredible amount of practice to get it to do so. Even just using a single chain to pull away and use for any kind of reason is a mind-boggling achievement."

Taking a moment to show him, I allowed the many chains that constricted around my being to be seen as well as slowly roll away. They carefully pulled away to craft two extra hands that were below my real ones that seemed to please Papyrus.

"Papyrus, try your hand at turning my soul blue, please."

"Excuse me?!"

"The hell?!"

Both brothers looked at me in surprise before I waved them off quickly.

"I have something I want to show you with my magic, but I'd like for you to turn my soul blue if you could."

Papyrus tilted his head at me. "What is it that you wish to show me?"

I smirked lightly at him. "Something I discovered recently after talking to my sister and to see if it works. She told me how you could turn her soul blue and made her movement more sluggish, as if she was held down by gravity and drunk at the same time. Don't worry, you won't hurt me and I don't plan on doing anything drastic. But it is something I'd like you to help me teach Frisk at some point."

"Okay…" With hesitance in his voice, the younger brother did as asked. I could feel the magic of his trying to yank out my soul and add its heavier properties to me to provide an advantage to Papyrus. A few moments ticked by and Papyrus seemed to struggle to concentrate, which was not lost to his brother

"Bro?" Sans carefully looked at his only family member before he saw Papyrus let out a held breath and sunk to the floor, breathing heavily. "Pap?!"

"Sorry Brother, Angel. I couldn't do it." Papyrus sighed before he sat back on his legs. "It's strange… I've never had a problem with turning someone's soul blue before… I don't even find that much resistance when I battle with Undyne… how is that so?"

"I guess human magic is much different than your magic, huh?" Allowing him a moment to breath, I pulled out my own soul for the brothers to see. Sans and Papyrus both gapped at the sight before them.

A bright red soul covered in chains.

"My magic, like I said before, is mostly defensive based. So, to do something like this is actually a lot easier then to just produce and use those arms I shaped for you earlier. Those would be more along the lines of offensive magic."

"Wowie!" Papyrus gapped at the feat before him. "I've never heard of anyone doing anything like that before. And you think Little Frisk can learn this too?"

"It might be a bit easier for her and something to get her to work up to pulling the chains away from her. It's easier to pull them in tighter than to loosen them. Determination magic only works as hard as your will does. And unfortunately for Frisk, I've had near eight years more practice then she has, and it frustrates her that she's not at my level. My will is a tad stronger than hers, being that I spent most of the last four years raising her and avoiding the police on the surface."

That made the bothers' frown. "Was it difficult, Angel?"

"Very much so. Every moment was like I was constantly training, my will, my patience, my strength, doing everything I could to keep Frisk safe and happy. It was no walk in the park, let me tell you."

Papyrus hummed, showing a look to his brother before holding a finger to his chin. "I see…"

I waved him off. "But everything's fine now, we have a better home and life. Now," eagerly I stepped toward the kitchen. "I believe we were going to do dinner together again tonight? I was going to do pizza and could use a hand."

"Coming, Angel!" Papyrus was eagerly at my heels to assist me with the food while Sans stood in the doorway. He watched me for a few moments before settling down at the dining room table, content to watch and laze the moments away.

At least, that's what anyone would have thought of him. But I knew him better than that.

Sans was watching, and he was judging.

To what end or what reason, I had no idea. I could only feel the stair of his eye lights from behind my head as Papyrus and I flew around the kitchen, cooking together.

I trusted Sans with all my being, but I would be lying if I didn't say I was a bit nervous with his focused gaze on me in those moments…

He didn't know about three days ago… did he?

Witch's Note:

Oh boy! What a unique style of trial and punishment! Was anyone guessing that was going to happen? I honestly really loved the way it turned out since it didn't give the accused any chance to fight back, the evidence out weighed anything that could even remotely save them. And now Angel gets to help reform those fools! Ha!

Did anyone guess the right members of the jury? We have Grillby, Muffet, Glyde, Mappy, Free, Shyren, Whisk and Hops! What did you all think of these characters? We'll see and or interact with them more in the future! This will not be the only case that Angel will work on! Now that she's a government official and all that!

But now onto our reviews! (I love this part!)

ShunGod: (In a room hidden far from light and salvation, ShunGod and Mystic Girl look over the few spies of the R.A.W.C that had infiltrated their army. Bound to chairs with thick rope holding back both their arms and legs, they are looked upon with disdain by the opposing leaders.)

Mystic Girl: What the hell do you think your doing? Trying to steal our classified documents! And worse yet, you're trying to let evil men go free! Is that what you want?

Spy 1: Ma'am, you don't seem to understand here what you're doing. Last I knew you were not a law enforcer like Angel and Sans from the main story. You're a writer and an enjoyer of content like Halloween who opposes your… drastic ways.

Mystic Girl: Are you forgetting that they hurt Angel and Sans? Caused them immeasurable pain? They're only getting what's coming to them.

Spy 2: Are you kidding me? What normally happens when stuff like this happens is the assholes go to jail and rot for a few decades. And its not like they're getting out anytime soon. Angel's punishment is pretty tough, but hopefully will help them rebound better then they were before. Maybe they'll apologize like Robert did and you guys stopped this crazy fight.

(ShunGod seems intrigued to hear this and ponders the thought. Mystic Girl seems this and narrows her eyes.)

Mystic Girl: You're not going soft on me again, are you ShunGod?

ShunGod: I'm just listing to what they have to say. Right now, their words mean nothing since Sly and his goons haven't apologized. And until they do, I'm right here with you.

(This causes Mystic Girl to flare up in anger) But that means that if they do, you'll leave and be on their side!

Not A Shady Guy: Oh! Your kind words mean so much to me my dear sir! I do love some mushy moments between our favorite wish they would get together already couple, but gotta love the banter and the slow burn! And I hope you enjoyed or at least got something a bit from the trial. And yes! The basement just made SO much sense to use since Sans was the only one allowed down there where he could keep that super cool high-tech place! I always thought that Sans was this cool person down under all the lack of caring he did to himself to make it appear like he was a lazy nobody, but actually was the best damn person ever in the world! Knowledge! Skills! Power! And of course, compassion! So, I had to elaborate on that a bit in this story! And it's been a hell of a ride with lots of fun!

(While the spies are being interrogated by Mystic Girl and ShunGod, it can be shown that the recently stolen plans of locations where the opposing army planned to hit were used by the R.A.W.C. Sly and his buddies were divided up to perhaps try to keep the three of them safe at the same time as divide up the enemy forces further than they were already.)

RoseCentury: My goodness girl! What is with bad things happening all the time? I hope you get better, but I do understand a bit of what you went through. Slightly different situation though. You see, I lost a close friend recently. I had a to take a few days off of work, but I tried to go in before I took them off. I got to work, and burst out crying! My boss asked me what was wrong and when I told him he was like "What the hell are you doing here then?! Go home!" And environmental since is the best! I've studied in that field and currently have a job in that field for a company that does tree work, spraying and fertilization! You're in my field! So cool! Any over all game plan yet of what you wanna do once out of school?

Alright, that's all the time we got this time around so I gotta get back to work on the next book! You guys enjoy and I'll see you next week with a new friend for Angel to meet! Who wants to meet an adorable little yellow lizard monster who stutters and knows about science stuff?!

Love you all and see you next week!
