Two Worlds, Two Souls
Chapter 45: Fan Girl
Angel's Point of View:
"You damn bitch!"
And it was going to be one of those days…
It was the fourth time I had checked in on my reforming wards since their sentencing a near month ago. They had a section of the prison they lived in that was converted into arrangements for them while they worked to earn their freedom as well as their lives. Some days were better than others when I traveled there…
Harry was the most outspoken and loud, often shouting profanities at me every time I came close. He would hit the bars with such force that Asgore had to have our team of scientists make them electrocute him if he touches them.
Slick on the other hand had wallowed into himself much after the first day of trying to escape. He quickly found out that his size and shape, not matter how flexible and malleable, did not help him. He was electrocuted no differently than Harry when he tried. He couldn't fit out the window that was made of magic proof glass, nor through the bars that Harry often hit in frustration. Once he discovered he was unable to escape, he just… lost the will to do anything besides work. Even visits from doctors and his family didn't help.
It was a quite the culture shock for them all.
The last of them, Sly, he most likely had changed the most. He was calculating, most likely trying to find a pattern in the way the guards moved or when food was brought to them in exchange for the tokens they earned for working for the people. He always was silent; he hardly spoke to his friends inside their cell and allowed them to do as they pleased while others came. His parents never visited, still in shock over everything. Only his sister had arrived once, but only in the sense to yell at him and let him have a piece of her mind. I remember that when we first allowed visitors to the compound and she was quick to shriek at him and call him a disgrace to their family and that she didn't consider him a brother anymore.
It also seemed that Vicky had taken over her family's business, implicating stricter rules and security then her parents had for a safer work environment while her parents took an early retirement. She vowed to make sure that Sly and his cohorts could never do what they did again, even convincing Harry's younger sister Susie to get her GED from the high school she was still at to take over her parents' business too, leaving those avenues closed for their brothers.
It was quite chaotic and a lot of paperwork…
"Jury Member Red?"
I was pulled from my thoughts as a guard approached me with papers. More papers to sign and add to the copies that Asgore had in his castle and the backup copies I had in the house.
"The weekly papers for you to sign, Ma'am." Covered in armor from head to toe, I was handed papers by the lanky figure who was one of the few who watched the crooks from inside the bars. As the papers were passed, the guard's strong grip held them in place to catch my attention a bit more. "As well as something else that I wished to bring to your attention."
That caused all men in the room to halt what they were doing. The three accused sat up and watched us a bit more with cautious eyes, wondering what the guard was speaking of. Even Harry had hushed his arguments to see what this was about.
"Hm?" Carefully looking over the new packet on top, I quickly skimmed it to actually see it was a request of one of the inmates, from Slick.
I would read it over with him when I did his one on one chat shortly after.
"I will review it when I get the chance later tonight."
"Thank you, Ma'am. Shall I start grabbing them for your weekly chat?"
"Yes, though Harry seems like he'll be too violent and I most likely will have to knock him out. We'll let him calm down." I cast my gaze out to the others of the cell. "Slick? Let's start with you then. Head to door one. Sly, head to door two and I'll be along shortly. A guard will wait with you until I arrive. And Harry, if you decided to calm down and talk, you may head into room one after Slick is done with me."
A loud beeping took place there to signal the opening of those two doors out of their cozy little cell. Slick and Sly vanished behind them while Harry continued to act like a basket case. I left him with the guard I had spoken to moments ago before heading into the sealed off room that Slick had been placed in. He sat nervously on the seat; his tail curled up under him while his little arms gripped at the edges of his worn shirt.
Slick had been the frugal one with his money he earned, often saving it for the long run rather than to buy himself things.
"Alright, the room is sealed." I sat down across from the inmate who looked quite meek compared to when he arrived. "So, what's this request about? Looking to spend some of your money? I thought you of your group would be the least likely to spend on an-"
"I'd like to use what money I have left to make separate accounts and separate rooms."
"Oh?" That startled me a bit, as I glanced down to then see the detail that was put into the report. Slick certainly had to be serious if he was offering all the money that he had left at the moment to do such a thing. "And what brought this on?"
"…Freedom." Slick looked away momentarily to look out the window to the crystals outside in the capitol. "Peer pressure."
"I see… would you like to talk about it?"
Slick glanced at his tiny little hands. "They weren't always so terrible, you know. Entitled, yeah, but not that cruel. They were the only friends I had since my parents were so overbearing and pushed others away from me." Slick paused and looked back over to the door with disdain. "What we did changed my friends. I was just some shy nerdy kid who wanted to be cool, so I followed the wrong crowd, did the wrong things. Soon enough, I was just as bad as them, afraid of being alone."
I tilted my head at him, quickly writing down notes. "Is that why you went along with their plans?"
"Yeah… but I don't want to do that anymore…"
"Alright, and that leads us to this proposal of yours?"
"Yeah… Harry keeps using the money I've saved for pointless things… and when I try to tell him to stop, he yells at me. He even took a swing at me this morning when he bought himself a rich looking breakfast. He never used to do that…"
"Now that he has no money to use other then what you three earn, I can see why he'd be leaching off of you like that." A quick nod from me and I write down on his write up. "I will be issuing a separation of the accounts so that he can't get into your money without your permission. Now as for the second feature, I'm assuming you also like to be separated for the fact that he's become violent?"
"Yeah…"
"I believe I can work out something like that as well. It won't help your reform if you're fearful of working or if you're harmed. I will be issuing that immediately. At least for you to be removed."
Slick instantly let out a relieved sigh. "Thank you..."
I shook my head. "Thank yourself, for coming to your senses. If you had acted any more like them, I would have never agreed to this, but I can see the change. I can see your learning your lesson here."
"I know…"
"But at this moment, don't assume that I plan to separate the price of your freedom." I tried not to sound too threatening, but stern with him. "I will need more time to see how you change. If you show more progress, I might be able to convince the king and judge to divide the total for your freedom between the three of you, or simply reduce yours if the others show no progress of changing."
"I understand, Jury Member Red."
"Good, due to us moving your location, you will need to wear a heavy-duty magic inhibitor collar. This new room that we'll be moving you to does not at the present have magic inhibiting material in the room, so you will have to wear it until we have a properly fitted room for you."
"Yes Ma'am."
"Good." Reaching into the drawer of the desk before me, I pulled the bulky, dark colored device out with many wires sticking out of its side. "Sit still for me to add it."
"Yes Ma'am."
Slick sat as still as he could in his seat while I attached his collar. It prevented him from using magic as we transported him around, or when he left his room for doing odd jobs that contributed to his freedom. The collar was tight, so it wasn't smart to move around when being attached or else it got tighter. Part of the design to keep inmates from removing it.
Once I had it hooked in all the places, I stepped back. Using the work phone I had been given four weeks prior after I'd joined the jury, I used the programs that doctor Alphys had installed to activate the collar from a distance. It remotely locked into place with extra bolts and then the light on the edge of it turned on.
Once it was fully activated, Slick slid off his stool and stood before me, awaiting orders.
"I'll leave you in the care of the guard Sim. He'll move you to another location that's also been approved by the jury, judge and king."
"Lead the way, please."
After unlocking the room, the guard I spoke of was still watching Harry through a fuss with his partner. As soon as Harry saw Slick out of the room and on the other side of the bars, even with an inhibitor caller, the obnoxious male hollered.
"Slick! Where ya goin'?!
The serpent male ignored the horse, which was not lost to the latter. Sly was not there to notice the interaction, though I could only assume that the mouse would have given him a cold stare that would cause the snake to freeze. However, guarded by myself and others, Slick held his head high and kept moving, following the guard toward another section of the prison.
I sighed. This was going to be a long visit…
With Slick taken care of, and Harry still yelling profanities at the top of his lungs, I moved onto the second room where Sly was waiting. He calmly sat in the room, not looking at anything. However, the small male lifted his gaze when he heard Harry yelling louder than normal, something that seemed to perk his interest.
"Harry's been riled up." The quiet mouse spoke from his seat. "What did you do?"
"You'll find out soon enough, Sly." Taking my seat across from him, I saw the mouse struggle to not touch his collar. He had to have one on twenty-four-seven because we weren't sure how potent his abilities were, and didn't want any guards being possessed in his time there. Sly knew this well from when we read him the few rights he had when he was first brought here with his friends. He held himself together and didn't complain even once as he was subjected to this treatment for his crimes.
The mouse said nothing as I sat. Many of our sessions were like this. I was given the silent treatment, no matter what comments or facts I'd given him. Sly was always a poker face, and it seemed that even his two friends hardly ever got anything out of him.
"Now, Sly, shall we commence?"
"I suppose."
That was odd, since he normally didn't respond.
"Very well, let's start with your work ethic and amount earned this week." I set aside the folder I had on hand for Slick and Harry to reach Sly's. "It seems the guards have noticed that you picked up an extra half shift last Thursday, which did give you a bit of over time that added an extra hundred and fifty gold to your account. That definitely an improvement to the beginning few weeks, but also make sure to rest up and not over work yourself-"
"Miss Jury Member Red, I would like to ask a more… off topic question if I may?"
This was new…
"I suppose."
"Why does the Judge favor a human so much?"
He looked directly at me. I knew he recognized my voice and mannerisms, he knew I was the human under the cloak. I could tell from the look in his eyes. The way they nearly glowed with that lavender color, even as the collar suppressed his magic.
Yet, Sans and my relationship often made as much sense as it didn't at times.
"I'm aware that they know each other on personal levels, yet that is the extent of my knowledge."
"A human, fighting for a monster. And a monster, fighting for a human. It's unheard of."
"While that is true, that is something you'd have to ask them directly. I will not divulge in the secrets of others." I shook my clothed head at him. "Besides, this chat is about you Sly. This is about assisting you to earn the set amount to be able to make your way back into society."
His face didn't change, all that did was that he blinked at me. "I'm aware."
"Then let us focus on that. Alright?"
"Yes, Jury Member Red." Sly gave what almost could be a sigh. "Perhaps it might be possible to look into other jobs that are more mentally demanding then physical?"
"Another job? I can see you're beginning to take this more seriously."
"Like Slick, Harry's attitude is beginning to grate on me. If possible, I'd like to be separated from him physically as well as my account. I know Harry's been leeching off of Slick recently, and while Harry will always go after Slick first, I don't plan to wait around until I become a victim of his rage as well."
"I see… and that explains the separate job from him as well, correct?"
"Very much so."
"I shall set up other quarters for you as well as Slick then and separating the accounts effective immediately." I quickly made notes at lightning speed on the paper. "Leaving Harry for a while to understand the loneliness and what his anger brings perhaps may waken him to the damage he is doing around him."
An indignant snort actually came from Sly as he sat here, hiding his lips behind the drink he had. "I doubt that, but you're welcome to try and curb him."
I halted in my note taking to look at the male before me that had once stolen my friend. Eyes that were beginning to lose the hardness that encased them sat before me. While still poker faced like, they were easier to read every now and then, showing a true array of emotions in his iris'.
"And I accept that challenge."
Later That Day:
"Heya." Sans gave me a wave as I met him outside the throne room. I'd just gone over the report of all my findings with the king and Sans dressed as the Judge, but this was the first chance we had together where it wasn't work related since we'd first woken that day.
"Hey, ready to head home?"
"Almost. I thought we could expand yer friend circle." Sans eye lights seemed to glow in merit as he approached, giving me a hug while his teeth fell next to my ear. "Someone good with keepin' secrets."
"Ah, well it sounds like someone I'd like to meet." Sans pulled back, but kept a hold on my wrist.
"Great, we'll head their now. Bring Frisk another time. Sound cool?"
"Sure, I can agree to that."
"Then let's take a shortcut."
Within seconds, Sans' blue colored magic covered us both and landed us in the center of a heat wave. I was stunned at the sudden difference of temperature only to see the falls of lava that was slowing moving off in the distance.
This area seemed to be the most lit of the entire underground that I'd been to visit thus far. I'd traveled through Hotland before, especially during Sans' recovery and to reach the capitol by foot, though never had much time to explore. Apparently, it was the largest area in the underground, the capitol surpassing it in only population rather than size. With this place as hot as it was, very specific species could live there only who could handle the heat.
It was more often than not that Sans was teleporting me to the capitol. In order to save on time as well as to keep me from traveling there just yet until I knew the safe spots of where I could go in case something happened.
Sans teleported us onto a single plateau with a pathway surrounded by molten rock that seemed to almost grow out of the ground. The building that sat up there was a large metallic building that had a light orange glow to its sides from the lava and the heat crystals.
Outside the building had an engraved stone plaque listing the name of the occupant, a Dr. Alphys Chordata.
Alphys… haven't I heard that name before?
"Welp, come on Rav." Sans released my wrist and motioned me to follow him inside, his hands instantly settling into their warm pockets.
Granted, I couldn't imagine too many people wanting to warm up in that unbearable heat.
The doors opened quickly, allowing Sans and I out of the heat and into an air-conditioned, sealed off room. It was bare other than the scanner that seemed to hover above the solid wall before us. It looked at Sans and I peculiarly before it scanned the skeleton. He stood still for the process, looking calmly ahead.
"Recognized, Sans Gaster. Number b-zero-one. You may enter."
"Computer access code f-six-six-six." Sans didn't move other than to turn and face me. "Scan my companion and add 'er ta the friend roster."
That was when he motioned to me to pull off my hood. I breathed out a heavy sigh before complying, thankfully, this section of the lab was closed off to outside viewers.
"Acknowledged. Scanning second occupant with Sans Gaster."
The machine proceeded to scan my entire body, focusing mostly on my face that was left exposed. I tried to hold still and keep my gaze ahead, but I stole a glance at my companion. He only showed me a grin, one that was more poker face like then not.
I wish he didn't always do that…
"Scan complete." The machine stopped its scanning and glanced back to Sans. "Sans Gaster, please name the second occupant."
"Angel."
"Error, guest will need both first and last names for authorization."
That stressed the grin on his face. "God damnit…"
I tilted my head at him. "It requires my last name?"
"Yeah, do ya remember it?"
"Hm…"
It wasn't a fact that I didn't remember it, but more along the lines that I knew that if I told him, he'd know that I was from one of the families that locked him and his kind away. I couldn't tell him that, not yet.
So, I needed a different last name.
I couldn't lie, Sans would know if I tried to. It had to be a legit name in my family to hold true.
But I also had to give him a reason why I wanted to use another name…
"Yes… but… could I use my mother's maiden name instead?"
"I... guess?" Sans didn't hide his confusion then. "Why?"
"My true last name, while one she adopted and belong to my father… it also belonged to my uncle…"
"Ah…" Sans reeled back on the subject quickly. Nodding to me, he responded. "Not ready yet to face that, understood. What's the name ya wanna use?"
"Seeley. It was my mother's name before marriage to my father. I'll have Frisk use the same name when she comes here later on."
"Got it." Sans turned back to the computer. "Computer, the second occupant is named Angel Seeley."
"Acknowledged. Angel Seeley has been added to the roster named as 'friends' of Dr. Alphys Chordata. Your code number is b-zero-seven. Please remember it in the case of emergency access that will require separate codes as well as scans. One moment please." The computer began to beep before we heard something large moving before us. "The door has been unlocked; you may proceed."
The wall before us opened then, spreading wide to a vast variety of lab martials, combinations between a chemical station, large computers for storing information, monitoring systems that seemed to have images from all over the underground. Though I also saw that there were a lot of mechanical parts thrown about on some tables. Perhaps the doctor was also a mechanic? There was so much more that I couldn't take in in those first few moments.
Sans walked me around the corner to where I could see more monitors that seemed to focus back in Snowdin. Particularly on our home where we could see Frisk and Papyrus playing out at the backyard with some of the other kids, a soccer game going on with the children and teens of the area. Frisk was always good at rallying them into things.
"Why is that monitor focusing on our siblings?"
Sans sighed. "It's… more yer sibling them mine. It ain't for bad intentions though. Al's just… a bit human crazy…"
I narrowed my eyes at him, which he flinched slightly at since could actually see my face. "Human… crazy?"
His hands instantly flew up defensively. "Not in a bad way… more like… a fan of yours?"
"S-sans? I-is that y-you?" Both of us looked to the side where another person soon entered the room. Before any other words came out of them, a squeal of excitement came first.
A small woman, smaller than even my sister, who now was at the height of my shoulders, stood before us. She was reptile like, a yellow lizard who also seemed to be hunched over a bit. Though she attempted to straighten herself out when she saw me. She was a plump woman, certainly a bit overweight, though most of it I assumed was more from her curvaceous body, muscles beneath her scales and the fact that she was shorter than the average person down in the underground. She seemed to cover herself in a lab coat that layered over most of her body, only the small hands of hers, her large feet and the tip of her tail seemed visible beside her face. Glasses sat upon her snout that showed me coal colored eyes that glowed in eagerness from where she stood.
"Oh m-my goodness!" The woman lost her breath easily as she approached stopping before me with just enough space to throw out haphazardly a hand to shake. "I-I've always w-wanted t-to meet you! A-a-a-angel, r-right?"
"Yes, that's me."
Well… she's certainly did seem harmless, not someone that would be a threat if they're acting like this. She's also one of the first people to know we're humans and want to meet us.
I held out my hand and gripped her own, shaking it lightly as her own grip was nearly ghost like in my palm, though she attempted to hold back a squeal as she did so.
"My name is Angel, and you are?"
"D-d-dr. A-alphys Chordata! Oh! T-this i-is so e-exciting!" Once her hand was free, she happily did a bit of a dance before me. "I-I never t-though I-I'd meet a r-real human!"
"And I never thought I'd meet someone who was excited to meet us down here." The grin on her face just never left as she listened to me, and I felt it grace me with a smile of my own for her. Her eyes glowed brighter, if at all possible. The topic did remove the smile from me. "Even with Sans' help, it's been a slow battle to get others to trust us. It's nice to be actually wanted for once instead of feared or fighting to prove that we mean no harm."
"Y-yes… t-that would b-be d-difficult…" Alphys stuttered out. "B-but you've m-made a lot of p-progress i-in the l-last year…"
"Yes, I have. At least one royal guard knows about me, and a few other higher ups. And they have no problem with my existence here. Nor my sister's. But there are still a lot more hurdles, especially with Undyne and other members of the guard, the jury, judge and king."
I wasn't sure if Alphys was one of the rare few that knew about our status in the jury and Sans as the judge. I didn't want to suddenly reveal that and ruin any of Sans' hard work.
"Yeah, Angel here's done a skele-ton of work with that."
The doctor quickly fell into giggles along with me. Sans was pleased by this and the fact that he wasn't reprimanded for his puns. Having a good audience that didn't include his brother certainly helped.
"I hope we're not taking too much time from you actually, Doctor."
"O-oh no! I-I actually j-just finished my s-shift and I h-have the d-day o-off tomorrow."
"Oh? Well lucky you." I smiled at her before pulling out my phone to glance at the time. "I only just got out of work as well. However, I still have to go home and cook… I may ask Papyrus if he'd be okay whipping up something… though I hate to abuse that he likes doing that…"
"O-oh? Y-you're able to work?"
I smiled down at her. "Have you ever heard of Ravie Gaster and the company 'Ravie's Gallery'?"
"EH!" Alphys nearly flew back from where she jumped back in surprise. "Y-y-you're that artist? Ravie i-is you're c-codename?! You're work's a-amazing! U-undyne showed me s-some of y-you're work!"
I had to admit, she was very sweet, and adorable with the way she acted. Kind of reminded me of Papyrus a bit.
"Why thank you. It's nice to hear that."
"B-but… if I m-may…" Alphys pointed to the old flip phone in my hands. "I-I haven't s-seen a f-flip phone s-since I-I was a l-little one… W-where d-did you g-get that?"
I struggled to hold back the sigh. "It was all a very kind motherly figure was able to provide for us. It's our only means of communication between people. I can't do texting or sending pictures or anything or the sort. Just calls."
"N-not e-even a-a-access to the u-undernet?"
"No, I'm afraid not. I use the home computer for most of that. I'm not very good with technology like Sans and Papy." My head fell into my hands as I was haunted by the memory of them trying to re-teach me how to use a computer. "I… regretfully didn't use technology that much as I was growing up, more concerned with other things, such as taking care of Frisk. I only learned enough to get by, and then I didn't use them for five years until I started up this business of mine. Papyrus and Sans practically man the website themselves since I'm unable to."
"W-w-well… I could u-update y-your phone f-for you… t-to try a-and make that e-easier…"
I couldn't help but blink at her generous offer. "Really? And how would you do that?"
"O-oh!" She quickly seemed to fluster. I watched her scales turn nearly orangey red from how flushed she was. "I-I-It's a simple… p-process… I-I w-would u-uh… j-just…"
I turned my head to my male companion in concern with all her stuttering. I was concerned with how much she was stuttering, which she hadn't been doing moments prior. Had I startled her? Scared her?
Sans only shrugged at me. "Ya didn't do anythin' wrong, Precious. That's just how Al is. She's tryin' ta explain to ya that she'd borrow yer phone for a day or two and install all those features, though it'd be somethin' she'd have ta teach ya how ta use afterward, especially since ya ain't all that great with techno stuff-"
"I-I can show y-you!" Alphys eagerly struggled to shout out at us, grabbing our attention. "I-I was j-just t-trying t-to tell you a-about h-how I-I'd r-remove the p-parts f-from y-you're old phone a-and put t-them i-into a new c-case w-with all the m-memory y-you had b-before… l-like n-numbers a-and h-history!"
I couldn't hold back from slowing nodding my head at her. "I see… I'm sorry for assuming otherwise. I wasn't sure if I was making you nervous."
That seemed to cause the little woman to jump in surprise. "N-no! N-not at a-all! I-I'm j-just… naturally a s-stuttering… m-monster. I-it's a m-medical c-condition... A-also… I g-get a b-b-bit w-worse w-when I-I g-get excited o-or n-nervous…"
"See there, Precious?" Sans chuckled. "Nothin' ta worry about."
"Okay." I sighed, releasing some of the worry I held in my chest. "And remind me, you two know each other, don't you?"
"Y-yes, Sans a-and I were both i-interns at t-the same time u-under his f-father, W-wingdings, the p-previous h-head royal s-scientist." Alphys seemed a bit more easily able to talk about that topic. She wasn't as fidgety as she stood beside us, though still hunched over. "I-it was always s-so lively w-with s-so many of u-us running a-around and w-working on many p-projects. S-sans' father w-was responsible f-for building the c-core, h-heading the botany p-program, and w-with Sans help, c-crafted a medicine to a-assist in m-monsters who s-struggled to c-create sparks."
I flashed them both a confused look. "Sparks?"
"Soulin's, baby monsters before they're born." Sans shrugged. "We had a spell of ten or so years where no one was able ta reproduce due ta poor conditions. It was before Dad took up an interest in the botany of Waterfall and with a separate team of scientists, was able to help make medicine to help with that."
"Y-you h-helped too!" Alphys was quick to add.
Sans waved her off. "Al, I was hardly ten back then, I hardly helped."
"B-but y-you discovered t-the k-key c-component for t-the m-medicine!" The yellow lizard woman seemed to find some fighting ground to keep her head up as she looked at an old-time friend. "Y-your age didn't m-matter, y-you s-still did that!"
"Hold on." Stepping between them, I stopped the two of them from going about it more so. Looking at Sans to see the slight irritation in his boney brown, I turned to Alphys. "He really did that?"
"O-oh yes!" She eagerly giggled. "S-sans o-only w-was t-ten at the t-time, b-but he w-was s-super smart! H-he w-was home s-schooled, h-helping t-take care of P-papyrus, a-and h-helped W-wingdings to d-do m-many things! S-sans got his degree i-in science a-and at f-fifteen, h-he w-was already a-a certified a-adult and e-earning an l-living w-with his f-father!"
"Really?" Turning back to Sans, I couldn't help but smile at him. "So, does that make you a bone-afied smartie?"
The skeleton gasped and held the spot before his soul. "Precious, ya didn't even try!"
And yet, it still caused Sans to snort and struggle to hold back his laughter. I giggled a bit behind my hand, though I knew he could see the merit in my eyes. Alphys giggled easily behind her tiny hands that did nothing to shield the squealing sound.
"You know Alphys," I turned back to the woman a few moments later after calming down. "I would love to know you better and I'm sure my sister would love to meet you. Would you like to come back with us to Snowdin and have dinner with us?"
"R-r-really?!" The small woman seemed to glow in excitement. "O-oh that's k-kind of y-you! Y-you d-don't mind?"
"Not at all, and I'm sure Sans doesn't either." I turned back to my boney companion to check and all he did was shrug and grin at me, really not caring. "Perfect! I'll give Papyrus a call and see what he'd like to do for dinner. Shall I meet the two of you out front?"
"Sounds good." Sans' eye lights I could see were excited for food. It was always said that a way to a man's heart was through his stomach… "Meetcha out front."
"Okay!" Hurrying back the way I came, I quickly pulled out my phone before calling the said younger brother of my companion. Papyrus eagerly picked up and we spoke of options for dinner. He wanted to attempt something pasta related tonight and wished to make my baked mac and cheese dish.
I was attempting to hide the drool from my lip just thinking about it.
Sans' Point of View:
"O-oh goodness! O-oh goodness!" Alphys began runnin' around the lab in pure excitement from her meetin' Angel and soon ta be meetin' Frisk. She eagerly rushed around, eager ta close down many of her programs and machines before slippin' off her lab coat that covered her worn set of jeans and tee shirt. She eagerly reached into her closet to grab a jacket and boots.
Normally she didn't need so much clothin', but Alphys didn't go to Snowdin that much. Any other area of the world of the underground and she could travel as she preferred, no shoes and no coat.
"O-Oh Sans! T-thank you s-so much f-for i-introducing us!" Alphys was pretty energized after meetin' one 'f the two humans she'd been gushin' about for a while. I was surprised she hadn't asked me ta meet 'em sooner. "A-and s-she's even okay w-with me u-updating her p-phone!"
It was hard ta hide the amusement in m'voice. "Yeah, Angel could use some help with it. She prefers no tech, but it helps with 'er job, much as she doesn't admit it."
"A-and you called her 'precious'!"
Tilting my head at her, I questioned. "And?"
"It's s-so cute!" She gushed. "I-I never thought I-I'd see you f-flirt with someone!"
And made the heat rise ta my cheekbones.
"F-flirt?!"
"Y-yes?" Alphys tilted her head at me. "F-from t-the video feed, I-I a-assumed you w-were together?"
"N-no! Al… it's… uh…" I rubbed the back of my skull nervously. "It's… just the way she and I interact…"
"D-does she not know t-that y-you like h-her?"
Ah fuck.
"S-sans… y-you deserve to b-be happy… w-why not t-tell her?"
The heated sigh that came from me almost was visible as it left me along with some of my magic. I struggled ta hold back the darker emotions that swelled inside of me. "Same reason ya haven't said anythin' ta Undyne."
That made Alphys shut it.
"I-I s-see…"
"But let's get movin'. Otherwise, Angel'll get worried." I gave her a once over as she had pulled out her phone into her hands. "Ya haven't told the tin can any of this, right?"
"N-no… I-I've made s-sure to k-keep Mettaton a-away f-from any video f-feed I h-had on A-angel and F-frisk."
"Good. Don't need 'er findin' out 'bout the girls."
"G-granted… she h-has a-asked me o-once or t-twice. H-however… I-I've been a-able to k-keep it a-at b-bay. B-but I'm n-not sure h-how m-much more I c-can d-do t-that…"
"Ya know what'll happen if she finds out. We can't let that happen ta 'em. So, ya'll keep doin' what ya gotta, no different then I'll protect 'em. Capich?"
Her gaze was cast at the floor in worry. Her tail curled around her. "I-I know…"
"We know the consequences if we fail Al." Turnin' on m'heels, I headed toward the door ta meet up with the woman we were speakin' of. "If ya like 'er as much as ya claim ya do, then ya'll keep protectin' 'er from that tin can, Undyne, and the king. At least until we can convince Fluffybuns that she means no harm and wants ta live here peacefully. Lift the law on capturin' and killin' humans on sight."
"Y-yes… I know."
Patting her shoulder in good faith, I pulled her gently along. "Good, now let's put on a smile and make sure Angel doesn't suspect nothin'. If we're not careful, she might."
"O-of course…"
Witch's Note:
Awe! Don't you love her! Gotta love adorkable Alphys! Isn't she great? And the fact that she and Sans are working together to keep Mettaton at bay for the moment! But how long will that last…? Uh oh…
Now we have another friend! Who's next to come to our side and help us with making the girls be friends with the entire underground? How about a shy little ghosty that loves music? And maybe we learn a little bit more about one of our girls?
Now onto our reviewers!
Not A Shady Guy: I'm so glad you were excited for Alphys and loved the trial! Hope you loved my interoperation of Alphys in this story! She was so fun to write, though hard from all the stuttering! I actually had to practice the stuttering myself to make sure to pace it out right to sound correct to how I picture her!
(Hidden away in the dark and dingy bunker like location where the two spies have been captured by ShunGod and Mystic Girl's armies, alarms blared off that cause the two occupants to raise their heads. In the time that they had been trapped, they had at least been offered the basic human right of being unbound inside their locked cell. Bright and alert, they nod to each other before standing back-to-back in the middle of the room, watching all the walls at any point. Not sure if anyone would come through the actual door or make their own.)
(In an action movie like fashion, the walls cave in on one side that create a massive opening to the left of the cell. Standing just outside is a commanding officer of the R.A.W.C who dives in the second he sees his officers. They rush toward the hole in the wall, diving out toward where an armored truck sat in wait while the two dove in the open door. With the two escapees gone, Mystic Girl and ShunGod watch from the top of the base to see them flee into the darkness.)
(Mystic Girl watches on with utter shock in her eyes before turning to her partner with a small amount of panic laced in her voice.) What the fuck just happened? What do we do now!?
(The ever-calculating partner of Mystic Girl watched over the darkness in cautious disdain.) We hardly gathered much information from them. So perhaps its time for plan p.
Plan p? (Mystic Girl blinked at her partner, trying her best to ignore the smoke and lingering fires that were being put out by the men and woman below still fighting for their cause.) What's that?
(Her partner smiled a wicked grin.) Playing dead.
RoseCentury: Ooo! That sounds interesting! How long will that take? I thought doctors had to take at least four to eight years to get the right credentials?
Ceoko: Lovely to see you again! Hope your enjoying the story thus far again and eager for more! Muffet was adorable, wasn't she? I've got her a few more times in the story, but certain characters got a bit more of the spot light then I think she did. But this isn't the last time we see her, I promise!
And another week is done my lovelies! Excited for more because we only have a few more filler good chapters before I mess a whole bunch of stuff up! Who wants to guess what those terrible things that may happen will be? If anyone gets it right between now and chapter forty-eight, I'll give you a secret sneak peek by private message!
Anyone interested?
And Mystic Girl won't give out any hints! (I turn to face her while I write this as she's whistling and rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet.) Right Mystic Girl?
(She tries to hide her giggling.) Of course, Halloween.
Love you all and see you next week!
