Ezra kept a calm face as he sat opposite Kanan in his room, he didn't know what to think about their relationship. He knew that they were no longer master and apprentice, but they were still a part of a rebellion. Even though they didn't train together anymore but that didn't mean they had to hate each other, sure he was bitter about the choice Kanan made Ezra take, but he never hated the older Jedi. Hence why he didn't have a problem with asking for information.

"Revan" Kanan repeated as he looked at Ezra "Ezra, Revan is a very... controversial figure within the order" he started.

"So, you do know about him?" he asked back quickly.

Kanan calmly nodded "yes. He was a very well-known figure. Raven was a Jedi around four thousand years ago. During the time of the old Republic. Shortly after he was made a knight the Mandalorian's began their conquest of the galaxy" he started to explain.

Ezra nodded "led by Mand'alor the Ultimate" he finished for him.

Kanan nodded "exactly, during the starting years of the war. The Jedi wanted to stay out of it. Saying that it wasn't their place to fight in a war, they weren't soldiers. This is where Revan steps in. He saw all the suffering and thought it was his duty to step in. So, he goes against the wishes of the Jedi council and starts his own crusade against the Mandalorians and he does good work. So good in fact that soon after he starts to earn a name for himself, he gains the rank of Supreme Commander of the republic forces. I don't know all the details but long story short the war ends when Revan launches an assault on a strong hold on a planet called Malachor. There he ends the war by defeating and killing Mand'alor the Ultimate"

Ezra was paying complete attention to Kanan as he was told the story of Revan. To hear that a Jedi had killed the Ultimate, that was a surprise. None of this information was within the data stick his mother had given him when he first arrived on Lothal, and he had never heard this anywhere else in the history texts he was able to find. But if this was true and he killed the Ultimate, it would explain why they would build a statue of him. The Mandalorians respect strength above all and if a Jedi could do all of this then it is no surprise he was so respected.

Kanan took a moment before continuing "now, this is the part where things get tricky. The details of what happened to Revan were locked away in the Jedi archives, only accessible to Masters. But what I do know is that at some point after the war Revan disappeared, when he came back. He was a Sith lord and in charge a massive army. This army became the forces of a Sith empire. I don't know what, but something turned Revan from the Jedi to the Sith. Needless to say, Revan was a monster on the battlefield and the Republic almost fell. Again, I don't know what happened, but Revan became a Jedi again"

"wait" Ezra did a double take "hang on. He was Jedi but became a Sith and then a Jedi again?" he asked very confused to what he was hearing.

Kanan let out a small chuckle "like I said, very controversial. And I certainly don't know all the details, but Revan is without a doubt one of the most powerful Jedi to have ever lived"

Ezra leaned back slightly as he thought about the words. One of the most powerful Jedi and strong enough to earn the respect of all of Mandalore. Why would the force want him to know about this guy? "thanks Kanan... I appreciate the help" he added.

"Anytime, now why don't you tell me why you want to know about him?" Kanan quickly asked back before Ezra could attempt to leave.

Looking back to his old teacher, he decided that it would be better to just be honest "I don't know" he admitted "when I was down in that arena, when I saw that statue. It was like the force was trying to tell me something, I haven't felt something like that since I first came onto the Ghost and your holocron was calling to me" he said truthfully.

Kanan looked down to the ground clearly in deep thought at Ezra's words "the Force works in ways I would not dare to understand. But I'm not going to lie Ezra, I don't like this. Looking into the ancient Sith never ends well"

"But you said he was a Jedi first" Ezra quickly countered.

Kanan slowly nodded "he was but he was also not the first to fall to the Darkside of the Force. Something that's very easy, all it takes is a taste of the power the Darkside offers and even the strongest of Jedi can fall" he warned ominously.

Ezra slowly nodded before standing up "I don't want to become a Sith Kanan. But you taught me that I have to follow my instincts and right now, I'm being screamed at from every angle. I need to know more about him" without another word he turned and left the room, leaving with Kanan no doubt worrying about what he was going to do next.

Walking across the command ship towards the Tempest, Ezra's mind went to the data sticks he got from the protectors. Which was something he needed to look into, if what Kanan said was true then that meant that Revan was so strong as a warrior that he earned not only the title of Mand'alore but the title as one of the true three. That was an honour that has only been reached three times in all of history, but for him to earn that and not even be a Mandalorian. While killing the Ultimate is an amazing feat it wouldn't be enough, Revan must have had to absolutely decimate the Mando forces in order to get that title. Never in Ezra's wildest dreams would he imagine that would be possible.

Entering the Tempest he saw that it was empty, he gave a shrug wondering where Sabine must be. He quickly moved to a nearby console and plugged in the data stick. Learning about Revan from a Mando perspective would be very useful in understanding him.

2 hours later

Ezra didn't even notice Sabine coming into the ship until she tapped his shoulder "hey, you ok?" she asked. That was when he turned away from the screen for the first time since opening it "you missed Sato's briefing, what's so interesting?" she turned to look at monitor.

"The data the protectors gave me" he informed as he reached out a hand around her waist and pulled her forward until she was sitting sideways on his lap "this guy was a machine" he started "Revan gave no mercy to the Mandalorians. Sabine, this guy was the reason we lost the war with the Jedi but that's not the best part. You know that under Ultimate we were not the most kind of people" he added and Sabine couldn't help but nod slowly. It wasn't secret that back in those days it could be fair to say the Mandalorians where mass murders, conquerors that killed anyone who got in their way, including innocents.

"well, not all of us followed that way" he continued "and on one planet, there was a Mando, a woman. Who stood against both her house and clan, she defended a settlement from the attacking forces, her own family. Sometime after, Revan landed on the planet with the Republic forces. When he came back he now wore a Mandalorian Baskar helmet, now the Data stick held a report that must have been stolen from the Republic at the times because it's a report of the mission and it says that Revan swore a vow because he was so amazed by what this woman did, he swore that he would not remove the helmet until the war was over and we were defeated" he finished.

"it's no wonder he became the one of the three true Mand'alore" he smiled and Sabine could tell he was he was gushing quite a bit, it almost sounded like hero worship "this guy must have been the prefect warrior, a master tactician and commander, a master of every lightsabre combat form, could use the force better than the Jedi masters and even to this day he is said to be one of the most powerful Sith to have ever lived" he leaned back and wrapped both arms tightly around Sabine "if we had someone like him, this war with the Empire would go a lot quicker"

Sabine's hands tightened for a second before she calmed herself "or it could be even worse" she simply said.

Ezra deflated slightly at her words "right" he nodded.

"Why are you so interested in him?" Sabine asked as she leaned back and looked into his eyes.

"The force, it's trying to tell me something" he tried to explain "I don't know why but I need to understand him"

Sabine was quite for a moment before nodding "ok" she leaned back before back and switching off the monitor "but not tonight" and without another word she leaned in and kissed him, Ezra never was one to deny her and the two spent the next hour being with each other. It was the first time since Leia left and it was just as good as always.

When they finished Ezra was drawn to a message that he received from a very old contact of his, a contact he did very much never want to hear from again. Sabine nearly tripped getting out of bed by the sound of Ezra cursing.

The crew of the Ghost where quite as they walked down the ramp of the ship into a base imbedded deep into a snowy mountain. The reason being that Ezra had recently gotten word that a group of refugees where on the run with the empire hot on their tails, the reason they took the Ghost being that it had more room than the Tempest "Ezra, I'm proud of you for taking the lead on this rescue mission" Hera spoke with a loving tone.

Ezra just gave him a shrug "yeah, you must be rubbing off on me"

"You said these people are wanted by the Empire" Kanan asked as they left the hanger "Do you know why?" he asked further.

Ezra shook his head "no, they didn't say but who are we to judge"

"So where'd you hear about these refugees anyway?" Zeb asked.

Ezra let out a long sigh "from a contact a really wish I could forget, oh and Chopper you better let them know we're here" he added looking at the small droid.

Chopper gave him a couple of beeps before he reached into a small compartment he had and pulled out a transmitter "Hey! Where'd you get that transmitter?" Sabine asked.

Instead of answering, the droid gave a couple of worrying beeps "There's no answer! We better hurry" Ezra said in alarm as they all started to run towards the location. Within a couple of minutes, the group where in a large cargo area and began to sneak forward towards the beacon single though when where just around the corner, Ezra stopped as he saw a storm trooper standing guard nearby "shit, we're too late" he scowled.

Looking back he saw the rest of the crew looking at him, after a moment Ezra reached down and slowly pulled his blaster out of his hip holster. Everyone else understood the message and pulled out their own weapons, when he turned back to the trooper, he saw more approach. Including an officer "Drag those refugees out of there" he commanded.

The troopers nodded and quickly moved to open a nearby containers, Ezra couldn't help but frown when he could only see the feet of the said refugees, he could have sworn they seemed familiar. When they stepped into full view, his eyes widened. Though Ezra couldn't help but Zeb couldn't help but take a step back "My people. They're Lasat" he said to himself more than anyone else.

"Move" a trooper said as he jammed his blaster into the back of the male Lasat who was standing next to an elderly woman.

"Where are you taking us?" he asked as he moved forward with his hands raised.

The officer let out a small chuckle "To a detention facility for a nice, long stay" he smiled.

"Hmm" the man grumbled "More likely a blaster squad" he countered.

Ezra quickly turned to face the others and nodded. The whole crew quickly moved out of cover and attacked. Zeb was the first one out and was unsurprisingly the most eager to help the refugees knocking out two of the Troopers while Kanan shot another that Ezra didn't even see. Though he was busy dealing with the officer who quickly fell to the ground with a hole in his chest.

There was a small moment of silence while everyone looked out for other threats that they may have missed, though that was when someone stepped out of the dark carrying a large crate of credits "Hello, hello!" he smiled "You arrived just in time, as I knew you would" he said stepping forward with a big smile not even batting an eye at the dead bodies.

"Why didn't you tell me the Empire was here?" Ezra asked stepping forward with a look of anger clear on his face.

"Ah, but I sold the Lasats to the Empire knowing the heroes would save the day" he countered "You being the heroes, of course" he added.

"Ezra, who is this?" Hera asked as she slowly lowered her weapon.

"Ah, where are my manners" he said dusting himself down before giving Hera a dramatic bow "Hondo Ohnaka, at your service"

Ezra rolled his eyes "he's also my contact. Though I've never contacted him, he always calls me"

"Yes, that is true" Hondo quickly agrees without any hesitation "but that is only because I know these two must be important" he gestured to the other two Lasats.

Though Ezra was surprised to see that both of them quickly turn on Zeb and large smile come on their faces "It is him" the man said pointing at Zeb "Captain Orrelios"

"By the Ashla. The prophecy!" the woman said with a large smile.

Ezra frowns in confusion before turning to face Zeb "you use to be a captain?" he asked.

"Yes" the woman answered for him "Captain Garazeb Orrelios of the Lasan High Honor Guard" as she spoke both of them quickly walked forward and got on their knees with their heads bowed.

Hando let out a loud laugh "A reunion! I was right again. How wonderful" he walked forward and kneeled next to the downed officer "Hondo could use a little help" he looked up to Kanan and Sabine who both gave him a sideways look before kneeling down and helping him move the body aside.

"Thought I was just about the last of us" Zeb scratched the back of his head "How is this possible?" he asked.

"Do you remember me, Captain?" the man says with a hopeful look.

"You look familiar" Zeb said after a moment.

"Gron" the man, Gron introduced himself as "I served under you in the guard. This is Chava the Wise" he said as the woman stepped forward.

Zeb looked down to the ground with a nervous look "Oh, yeah, I know who she is"

"I didn't know you were a captain" Ezra said as he stepped forward.

"He never told any of us" Hera added with a calm voice.

Zeb seemed very dismissive and almost backed up a little "It was so long ago, I... I forgot" he stammered.

The woman smiled "We have not"

Ezra shook his head before walking forward "well, either way. I doubt these guys were alone. We need to leave"

"Wait wait" Hando interrupted before they could all leave "does this mean I am not getting my finder's fee?" he asked with a hurt tone.

"of course" Ezra smiled "it's in your hand" he gestured to the large stack of imperial credits he was holding under his arm.

As the larger group began to leave, he heard Hando give speak "perfect answer, I am so proud of you right now. I never had a student I liked that much"

Ezra rolled his eyes at the words as the group left the cargo hold and into a brightly lit corridor filled with others "so" Ezra started as he looked at the older woman, Chava "if we're giving you a lift, where are we taking you?" he asked.

She smiled brightly at him "out new world, Lira San. Prophesized in the ancient Lasat writings. It is a safe system where our people can began anew"

Before he could try and say anything back, a groan from Zeb stopped him "look, the only safe system for us was Lasan and it was destroyed"

"Lasan was not destroyed" Gron countered "it was transformed as part of the future destiny of our people"

"there's no future destiny. Everything is gone" Zeb simply said back sadly.

Chava laughed at his words "we are not gone. We carry the ways of Lasan within us and will until we reach our new home. Everything is happening as it was meant to"

No one had anything else to say to that and they all made their way back to the Ghost. Traveling through the corridors and started to get full of people "Ezra my boy" Hando's voice came through the com Chopper held "it's your pal, Hondo"

Chopper was quick to turn around as Ezra rolled his eyes. Walking forward he grabbed the radio out of the droid's smaller hands... or clamps if you prefer "what do you want Hondo?" he asked as the group stopped moving.

"Just wanted to let you know that there may be some... Stormtroopers on their way" he informed. All the group quickly became alert and reached for their weapons.

"Well, how close are the..." that was as far as Ezra got before a blaster bolt sailed past his head, hitting the wall behind him. Everyone turned to see where the shot came from and a flock of troopers coming towards them.

"Pretty close" he heard Hondo said "GOOD LUCK!" he shouted before the channel cut out.

Kanan and Hera seemed to nod at each other and quickly drew their blasters, running forward. The troopers didn't last long, thought there were only three of them "they've got back up" Kanan warned as they continued to fire down the corridor.

Sabine ran forward and picked up the two blasters that the troopers held "so do we" she said "here" without waiting for conformation, she through the basters at the Lasats.

Which proved to be the wrong move as they smacked right into their faces "oh no, we do not fight. It is no longer our way" Gron said before Zeb had to ram him into the ground in order to keep him from being shot

"What? You're Lasat. Your warriors" Zeb said shocked and annoyed buy the words "Course you fight!" he yelled.

"Well" Hera said as Ezra looked to their exit towards the Ghost which kept getting smaller and smaller as more troopers showed up "We'll never get through now" she added.

"Yes, we will" Ezra said as he turned around to face the smaller squad shooting at their backs. He pulled Chava through the doors and aimed his weapon ready to destroy the door controls which would have shoot them but as he was going to, he could see Hando skulking around behind the troopers before pushing something which seemed to shut the door 'for fucks sake, now he thinks I owe him one' he thought to himself.

Stepping out into the middle of the corridor, he activated his sabre before he could get shot "stay behind me" he told the others as he started to walk forward while he discarded his helmet, letting his identity being shown to all and the rest of the crew had no choice but to follow his orders.

When he stepped past Hera and Kanan, the Troopers seemed to get over their shock at seeing who he was, or it was the sabre. Could have been both "OPEN FIRE!" he heard one of them yell.

Using all the training that he's been doing nonstop since he was on Lothal, Ezra marched forward deflecting bolts left, right and centre. The bolts finding their targets, blasting backwards against the ones who sent them. Waving his sabre to block another, he lifted his left hand and the trooper that stood closest to him froze in place before slamming into the ceiling being positioned as if he was lying on the ground. He continued to block bolts two of which returned right back to the ones who sent them, when he was under the trooper, he was holding to the roof he waved it upwards, slicing his stomach.

Letting go of the grip he had on the force, the body fell to the ground with a thud, the troopers began to slowly back up as he got closer. When another reached him, Ezra used the force to lunge forward and sliced sideways, decapitating the trooper but he was not done. Using the momentum of the attack, he span around and extended his foot as the body fell. He kicked the severed head of the trooper before it could fall, and it hit another trooper. Using the force he picked up another and pulled him towards him, using the side blade on the sabre he practically punched the trooper to the ground.

Leaving a pile of bodies behind him, he stepped out into the hanger and turned right to see the remaining troopers had all grouped together. Blocking another wave of bolts, he raised his left hand and let the familiar feeling of anger flow through him. A wave of lightning came out and hit all the troopers who briefly screamed before Ezra let the power go and they all dropped to the ground.

Letting the power leave him, he took a moment for the adrenaline to wear off. When he did, he turned around to see Sabine and Zeb firing down the corridor. No doubt the troopers got back through the sealed door "MOVE!" Zeb shouted as the refugees started to move into the Ghost, no doubt where Hera was starting it up.

What caused Ezra to pause however was the look Kanan was giving him. It wasn't horror, or fear, or even anger. It seemed to be a mix of all three. Being perfectly honest, he was starting to worry for himself. His old master stood opposite him, his lightsabre held in his hand, not activated but with the strength in his grip. Ezra didn't need to have the force to tell what he was thinking.

If there was any doubt in Ezra's mind about the relationship between him and Kanan, it was gone now.

He would never teach him again.

And most likely, they wouldn't even work together again.

As the blaster bolts flew past them, Sabine and Zeb started to retreat to the entrance ramp to the ship. Normally Ezra would be happy to move with them but right now he feared for his safety, he really didn't like why he felt Kanan was going to attack him.

He had a feeling they would have stayed like that for a lot longer, if it wasn't for the Ghosts cannons blowing up the doors that led into the hanger. The shockwave knocking both of them off their feet and towards the ships ramp, in the moment of daze Ezra felt Sabine near him and she grabbed his hands before pulling him up and into the ship.

Sabine walked him into the mess as the shakiness wore off. Once it did, he noticed that Zeb was doing the same thing to Kanan. They quickly left towards the cockpit leaving the two to stare at each other from opposite sides of the table "what the hell was that?" he asked as he frowned at him.

"What you did" Kanan started as he sat up "the lightning, that can only be used by the way of the dark side" he informed.

"oh" Ezra nodded with a sarcastic open mouth "of course, good reason to attack me" he spoke with gritted teeth.

He frowned back "I wasn't going to attack you"

"Could have fooled me" he stood up, Kanan waiting no time to stand also "you were holding onto that sabre pretty tightly" he gestured to his hip where his sabre rested.

"It was instinct" he spoke back quickly "it tends to happen when I see my student using the weapon of the enemy"

A look a true anger landed on Ezra's face when he said that, he quickly raised a finger and pointed right at him "I think you made it pretty clear that I'm not your student"

"oh" he said back quickly and stepped around the table and into the open, Ezra following him and within one step the two stood in the centre of the mess, starring at each other "I made it clear?" he asked sarcastically "you had the choice, you choose" he reminded.

"There was no choice" he took a step forward towards Kanan, not even trying to hide his anger "and what then?" he shrugged "I can't learn from you so I can't learn at all?"

Kanan shook his head "I won't stop you from exploring your capabilities" he raised a finger "but when you start to look into the dark side, all bets are off"

"So, what!" he took a step back and waved his arms sideways "I'm a threat now? Need to be delt with, is that it?"

"I stood by and watched as the Sith used our own army against us" he snarled back and Ezra couldn't help but take a fighting stance, one foot in front of the other, legs slightly bent. Though not grabbing his sabre "as they killed thousands of us in one fell swoop. All of that due to the Dark Side" his face became Solom, almost sad "I can't let anyone else I care about be lost because of it"

Ezra really didn't like where this is going, doing what Kanan himself taught him. He started to slowly reach for his sabre, Kanan doing the same. All that mattered now is who would be the first to ignite there's, they stood opposite each other in the middle of the mess. He held his sabre tightly, he didn't want to do this, but he would defend himself, even from him.

"I'm telling you; this is a waste of time. There is no Lira San" the voice of Zeb interrupted them as the door opened and out of the corner on his eye he could see him, Sabine, Chooper and the refugees walk in. Though when they did, all conversation stopped.

"what's going on?" Sabine asked with a clearly worried tone. When Ezra glanced over towards her to tell her about everything, his instincts screamed at him. Without waiting a second longer, he thrust is hand forwards. Just in time to mirror Kanan's own hand "Woah, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Sabine yelled.

Neither of them answered her, too busy looking at each other intently. All their mental power going into their hands. Ezra was calling at the force as hard as he could, pushing it out of his hand and right at Kanan who was doing the same. All around him he could feel the ship start to shudder slightly, the power getting too much for him to handle. After one more moment of struggle he was sent shooting backwards against the wall and landing on the table before rolling off onto the ground but after a second of defeat he looked, and he could see Kanan getting up himself.

Taking deep breaths each, they looked at each other before both rose to their feet and moved against each other. When they were one step away from each other, again simply acting on instinct he ignited his sabre and brought it downward towards Kanan who himself was bringing his up.

"STOP!" Sabine said and he could have swarm he heard Hera say the same thing. The main concern was she quickly moved in towards him and stopped right in front of where his sabre was going, unable to stop his momentum he acted quickly and moved the slash to the side. Just missing Sabine buy an inch and the tip of the sabre scorching the ground "WHAT THE HELL ARE DOING?!" she shouted and him before pushing him away with both hands in the chest. Not even giving him a chance to explain a loud 'SMACK' was heard as Sabine slapped him across the face which would no doubt leave a mark "WELL?" she yelled.

Looking back up he could see Zeb standing in between the group, no doubt using his bulk to keep them separate and he could see Hera just pulling back from a punch she gave Kanan "Hey! Don't get mad at me, I was defending myself!" he yelled back "he's the one who's lost his FUCKING MIND!" he yelled the last part looking over her shoulder towards him who was just picking himself up.

"COME WITH ME!" she yelled grabbing his arm and pulled him away from the mess and into the corridor. She slammed her fist into the controls that opened the door to their old room, needless to say she practically threw him in there "what the fuck was that?!" she yelled though it wasn't as loud as before "I thought you said you were going to try with Kanan"

"I did" he spat back "I didn't start anything; he was the one freaking out saying I'm going full Sith"

Sabine seemed to have enough, her eyes widened, and she gestured around the room "start explaining shit!" she ordered.

He sighed and started to talk "I don't know what's going on with him, he saw how I delt with those troopers and started freaking out. Said how I did it was nothing like how the Jedi should act. Said it was the dark side"

Sabine just frowned in confusion "what?" she asked "you've done all that a hundred times by now" she tried to reason.

"Expect one thing" he said back with his own deep in thought face "the lightening"

"The what?" she quickly asked back not knowing what he was talking about.

He looked at her thinking about what the best way to say this was "sometimes, when I'm fighting, and my temper gets the better of me. I feel this... power within me and don't even try. I raise my hands it just comes out. Lightening, I never tried to use it without anger, but I don't shy away when I use it either"

Sabine looked at him speculatively before responding "I thought you weren't supposed to use anger in a fight. I Jedi thing or something" she guessed.

He nodded back at her "yeah, and I'm not supposed to fall in love either but that clearly didn't stick" he added looking back at her.

Her face softened at his words, and she did let out a small smile "love and anger are different things"

"yeah" he agreed "but they can cancel each other out. Whenever I use the lightening, I think about you and then the anger fades" he shrugged.

Sabine seemed to calm down when he explained everything, though it was clear she wasn't done yet "how does that equal to Kanan wanting to... what? Fight you? Kill you?"

"I don't know" he spoke back quickly before looking down and sighing "I don't know"

Sabine crossed her arms before turning around and taking a deep breath "you're not going to be able to move past this, are you?" her voice was quiet and full of dread. He knew why and as much as it pained him to cause her pain, he wouldn't lie to her.

"I thought we could work together" he spoke, starring at her back "I thought me choosing Mandalore over the Jedi wouldn't interfere with the mission, I thought he would just let me continue to study on my own but now" he let out a sarcastic laugh "now I don't know if he'll even let me go without trying something. I know he'll never trust me again, let alone work with me. Being honest after that I wouldn't trust him either. I mean, not even a warning or a shouting match. Straight to detaine and arrest, not that it would stick. I can give him orders for fucks sake..."

The sound of a sniff interrupted him. Standing up he placed a hand on her shoulder and slowly turned her around, her hand was placed across her mouth and nose trying to block the sound of her teared eyed face while the other was wrapped around her lower chest. Ezra's own face fell at the sight of Sabine trying to hold back her tears at the news "I'm sorry" was all he could. She nodded at him before moving forward and wrapping her arms around his neck.

"When I left home, I was completely alone. Hera found me and here I found a family, I would have done anything for it" she let go of him and they looked intently at each other, their foreheads almost touching "then you came here and it was perfect" she reached up and placed her hands on his cheeks "I would do anything for them. But I can't give you up" her voice was just a whisper "I can't" she stated again "if you and Kanan can't work together anymore, then that's it. We go on our own. Just you and me. That's all we'll need"

"No" he said without a second thought much to her shock "just because I can't work with Kanan doesn't mean you need to stop. It's not impossible to continue the work without me and him being together. The squads big enough for the two of us. I'm not going to take your family away from you"

She didn't say anything immediately, just processing his words. Double checking to make sure it could work and when she couldn't, she stepped back put looked just as intently "you are my family" she spoke with such a certainty that even Ezra himself was surprised.

"And I always will be" he added before taking a step back and moving over to the barren, empty bed that was still there "might be a good idea I stay in here until we get back to the squadron" he added before sitting down "can you tell Zeb that I'm sorry for not being able to help him with this. I know it's important to him despite how he's acting"

She moved over towards him and placed a hand on his cheek before leaning forward and placing a gentle kiss on his lips "ok" she added before moving away and making her way out of the room. When the door opened, he saw Hera standing outside waiting for them to finish what they were doing.

She gave him a sad smile which he returned before the door closed.

When it was just him in room, he closed his eyes and let out a sigh. This shouldn't have happened and it pained him more then he thought it would make Sabine cry like that. Knowing that he needed to clear his head our he would just go insane, he lifted both his legs up and crossed them. He straightened his back, closed his eyes and began to meditate.

It's been a good few hours since he closed his eyes and within that time, he realized one very important thing. He was wrong, he couldn't be a Jedi, he knew that, but it was now that he realized that maybe that wasn't a bad thing. The Jedi where peacekeepers, what place did they have in the middle of a galaxy wide occupation? None, they had no place. Peacekeepers only work when peace is wanted. That is not the situation here.

When his eyes opened, after all the rumbling from the outside of the ship stopped and they drifted peacefully. He had a revelation; this galaxy didn't need a peacekeeper.

It needed a warrior.

It needed someone who was willing to fight, someone who had the power to win, someone who had what it took to win. He wasn't going to let Kanan's paranoia stop him from doing what needed to be done. On top of his constant and hard training regime, he would train more with the force. This lightening ability would be mastered and then he would move on to another.

Ok guys, I know this does the episode little justice but there is a point for that. From this moment on the story is going to shy away from the cannon story line and will be taking a more independent turn with different ideas and plots for chapters.

Let me know what you think of Kanan's reaction to the lightening in the reviews, he cares for Ezra but it's fair to say that he does not have a good record when it came to rational thinking when his past is a concern, his interaction with Rex when they first meet being a good example.

Also, I'd like to let you know that I'm looking for a beta reader so if anyone would like to do that, send me a message and we'll talk about it. Also if there is a lot of spelling mistakes and typos in here then that should be a good reason as to why I need one.

Until then, I'll see you all in the next chapter and may the force be with you.
