Two Worlds, Two Souls

Chapter 74: Hatred

Frisk's Point of View:

I remembered that day well, March twenty-first if I recalled correctly. My sister and Sans had left for another Sunday to head to the capitol. They were working on that murder case with the king again.

It still worried me a lot that she was involved in that. Angel never told me just how long she was a part of it, but I could only assume it had been for a while. She and Sans were so in sync with it that she had to of been a part of them for at least a year. And from what Papyrus told me, Sans must have been a part of it since he was a kid… at least ten years ago…

My fears ranged from not only her working on such a dangerous case, but also the fact that she was near the king. It scared me that she was just so close to the guy who wanted us dead and had the law out over our heads to kill or capture us on sight to free his people. We've been tip toeing around him for almost two years. I'd stayed more toward the areas of Snowdin and Waterfall. I'd never been to the capitol at that time. Even Hotland I hardly went to other then with my sister. She always wanted me away from the king, the further the better. But it seemed even she wasn't listening to that rule with the job she was preforming.

Papyrus had managed to get a couple days off after all the shifts he'd covered in the last few months. He had an incredible amount of overtime saved up. I wasn't sure what he was going to do with that money. Save it? Spend it on something special? He's never planned on moving out the home he shared with Sans. It was their childhood home and always been the two of them. I imagine it would be awful hard for him to leave or to place himself somewhere else.

Anyway, it was a day off for him and we were very excited to spend it together. We had our entire day planned out. Papyrus and I were gathering groceries for a big dinner when Angel and Sans came home, but otherwise, we were going to play video games all day long, and a bit of magic training of course. I was so excited to spend time with him that I was skipping in the street when I walked beside him.

Since my sudden growth back last year after Angel had been hurt, I was just as tall as my sister was then. It was a sudden grown, and it honestly hurt quite a bit. But with the medicine that Alphys gave me, I was able to keep about my day. After all, I grew like a good foot and a half in two months… that's really fast and a lot…

But also with that sudden growth of mine, I couldn't so easily be carried by Papyrus anymore. Well… it's not that it was hard for him, but rather I was so big now that it was awkward. The last time I climbed up his body, I sat nearly ten feet in the air. I had to hold onto the muscles in my core and grasp the front of his skull to keep myself from falling when it had been so much easier when I was shorter.

Damn didn't I miss those days and wish I could go back.

"Yay, yay, yay! A day with Papyrus!" I giggled eagerly as I walked beside him. The skip in my step couldn't be faltered as we moved.

Papyrus laughed from beside me. "Of course, you would. I am, in fact, the Great Papyrus!"

"I'm just so happy we get to spend the day together! It's been almost two weeks since your last day off! And you'll hopefully get more soon!"

"Yes, once that terrible murderer is gone." Papyrus smiled, but the subject didn't reach his eye lights. "I detest to think that they are still on the loose and could hurt someone…"

"I bet the guard will get them soon Papy."

But I was just as worried as him when it came to that subject. Papyrus and I both worried for our fellow friends, those in town, or others. It also worried us that Sans and Angel were right in the center of it. Undyne was too, but she was used to that kind of work and she'd done it for years. We never knew that Angel and Sans were a part of it until recently and we knew how the two of them hated to fight.

So how in the world did they become part of the jury? It's probably a question I'll never know the answer to.

"Frisk, wait." I stopped quickly at the demand of my skeleton companion. His eye sockets narrowed as he glanced out to the street just up ahead where he saw something. I followed his gaze and saw that it was Will and his two friends.

We hadn't seen them in months due to how strict their protection detail was. Will was a family member of those who died. He was supposed to be under watch all the time. He wasn't supposed to be in Snowdin, but the capitol. How in the world did he escape his guards?

And there was something else. A strange smell that seemed to be coming from their direction that I snorted at, trying to remove it from my nose.

Papyrus worriedly looked at group before he watched them head toward the edge of town, most likely attempting to leave it. "Frisk, I must apologize, but it would seem that I am needed to follow them."

"Then I'll go to!" I narrowed my eyes and pouted as Papyrus gave me an unimpressed look.

"No, you shall not. You shall head back to the house and wait there. Angel would have my boney hide if anything happened to you."

"No one is supposed to travel alone, even in the guard." I retorted back into his face. His stance did not change and I had to speak quickly so he couldn't shoot me down. "And Sans would have my fleshy hide if anything happened to you. We should go together and watch each other's back. I'm better at my magic Papy. I know I'm not like Angel yet, but I can help! She showed me how to whip up snow to distract or blind an opponent that could help in escape!"

Papyrus paused for a few moments, taking in my words while I stood determinedly before him. I never waiver. I continued to glare at him until he relented.

His arms crossed as he looked at me. "The moment it turns violent or if something dreadful happens, you listen to my words and take off. I will not tolerate anything else."

I rolled my eyes at him, but nodded. "Fine Papy. but its Will. Long as we don't run into anyone, we'll be fine."

He sighed dramatically. "I suppose, now keep up."

"Like you have to tell me that."

Later That Morning:

Papyrus and I carefully walked down the road deeper into the Snowdin Woods. We could see the figures of Will and his two friends, Kat and Kook just behind them, but they all looked weird and we could smell something strange on the wind.

"What is that atrocious smell?" Papyrus scoffed. I could hear his nose holes flaring up at the smell he was trying to ride his magically created lungs of. "It's worse than that booze that Sans buys on occasion!"

I scrunched up my nose as well. It was bad. It reminded me of a smell worse than weed when my sister and I came across it on the surface. "Are they doing drugs?"

Papyrus gasped loudly, but it seemed that none of the teens we were following noticed the noise he put out. I quickly reached out to cover his mouth, but the two of us watched and saw that none of the three of them cared or noticed us. Were they that far gone into the drug?

"What a horrid thing to do! It's bad enough when Angel and Sans drink on the occasion!" Papyrus pouted as we continued to follow them. "And while I realize that drinking for fun on the occasion is not the same as drugs, it still affects your body negatively!"

"Papy, hush." I narrowed my eyes at the venting skeleton. Steam poured from the sides of his skull before I was able to get him to settle down. "Look, a lot of teens do stupid things. I mean, look at how often I do crazy shit that drives you all insane."

"Perhaps, but that does not mean doing drugs is that closely related to what you do on occasion!" The skeleton narrowed his sockets at me. "And don't swear! You know that's not good to say words like that, Frisk."

I rolled my eyes at him. "Oh, calm down Papy. I'm not that bad."

"Says the girl who ate three pies and-"

"Yeah, yeah, I know I wasn't smart to eat three whole pies and throw them up! God, that was damn a year ago! Can't you friggin' let that go?"

Papyrus stared at me for a number of moments before he breathed carefully. "Is this a teen phase that you're going through? Or is it a girl thing?"

I huffed and turned away from him. "Shut up!"

It was just as our conversation ended and we approached the center of the woods. Within them I could see that the three teens falling over each other as they reached for whatever it was that Will was smoking in his mouth. I could see some sort of wrapped up, homemade cigarette. It was purple in color, the material in the middle, and it had some sort of scent that really bothered Papyrus and I.

"That must be some sort of new drug circulating in the capitol!" Papyrus gasped as he watched them. "I've never seen that before! Undyne will want to know about this!"

"Will must have got it from up there. But that's pretty stupid, even for him." I narrowed my eyes as we watched them. They acted nothing like they normally did. I knew that Will was normally such a jerk and so were his two friends, more so his girlfriend then Kook. The dragon monster was normally a bit nicer to us younger folk rather than his two partners in crime.

Will was always such a jerk... sometimes I wondered why he even cried at Milly's funeral. Was it mean for me to think that? I couldn't think so with the way he was so disinterested and how he just kept running away from everything. I thought he was supposed to be an adult? Wasn't he supposed to be strong and care for others like Sans and Angel did? He was the first adult I'd met that was so rude!

I mean... I know I met him back when I was like twelve and he was sixteen, but seriously? Come on!

I was more mature than he was! And that was saying something!

I shook my head while I looked out to the young adults ahead of us. The three of them seemed to be having the time of their lives all until Will grabbed his head in pain. I narrowed my eyes as he did so and there seemed to be some sort of panic come over his features. The whites of his eyes glowed in fear, but his friends didn't notice. They continued to have their fun while Papyrus and I watched on.

"Do you see that Papy?"

"Yes, I do Frisk." My skeleton best friend held a hand to his chin at he looked at the scene. "The drug that he's taking seems to be affecting him negatively. Whatever is in that stick doesn't seemed to be hurting the other two however..."

I whipped my head around to look at Papyrus in surprise. "Is Will like, allergic to it or something?"

"It would appear so... He doesn't seem mentally sound..." Papyrus quickly summoned a bone in hand, holding it like a weapon. "I will need to break this up. Stay close and on guard Frisk."

I nodded and felt my magic come alive then, twirling and swirling around my body in preparation to attack or defend. "Okay."

Papyrus and I cautiously made our way over to the three young adults then. The girl saw us first, Kat I think was her name. The second we came into her vision, she hissed at us. Easily it caught the attention of Kook, but Will was too preoccupied by what was happening to him. Throwing his head around in his hands, his eyes were turning bloodshot and it worried Papyrus greatly.

"Will? Are you alright?" Papyrus slowly approached, even as Kat and Kook quickly stepped in his way. "You do not look well. Is there any way I can help?"

"Go'way! Stupid..." Kat seemed not to be able to get out her words while the remains of that smelly stick were thrown to the ground. It was nothing more than a small piece left, still glowing purple with a colorful smoke leaving it. I covered my mouth with my scarf to protect me from its stench.

Papyrus though, didn't heed her warning. He still kept inching it closer to the white bear behind them. "Please, allow me to help. I can heal, perhaps ease the pain?"

"Fuckin' get back!" Kook was the one next to step forward, placing his body as a barrier between him and Will. "He doesn't wan'ya help!"

"Is that true Will?" Ignoring the other young adults, Papyrus stretched his larger figure over the other two to stare at Will's shaking form. Will didn't even seem to notice that he was there. He kept grunting in pain. He sounded a lot like Robert in those moments. "Can you tell me if you do or don't want my help? If you tell me you don't want my help, I will leave. But I do need you to tell me that."

Will didn't respond. He breathed out deeply for a few moments before a scream ripped out of him. Papyrus and I leapt back in fear while the bear hurled his body into the ground. His friends almost seemed to sober up then as they watched him fearfully. Will tossed himself through the snow, screaming out as he thrashed.

Papyrus waited no longer to rush forward and try to heal him. Papyrus hurried to use his healing magic to help Will in any way he could. The warm glow of Papyrus' magic could be felt over the chilling air, even if only for a few moments.

However, that warmth didn't last.

Will lashed out with his magic. Ice shot forward toward everyone within a couple feet of the bear. He snarled and howled, still holding his head with at least one hand while his bloodshot eyes narrowed at us all like we were enemies.

It seemed almost as if the healing magic was hurting him. Kinda like how when I tried to heal Angel's arm when it was getting burned off, it made it worse. I remembered how Angel would scream and Undyne chased us to Hotland before giving up and before Angel lost her arm. It was a scary time.

I couldn't help but remember those moments as Will charged.

Papyrus was quick to leap into action as he used a wall of bones to keep Will away from the rest of us. The force of the attack shoved Kat and Kook out of the way while I kneeled in the snow, my chains holding myself down so I wasn't blown away. Will smashed his body into the bones, they cracked and groaned under the pressure. When he couldn't make it through, ice magic was hurled through the defense, shattering some of it from the sheer force.

Papyrus had seconds to dive backward and grab me. His boney fingers covered by gloves snatched my waist while I haphazardly wrapped my legs around his hips and hands raced to grab his collarbone. I clung to him quickly and my chains wrapped around both of us. They weaved and wrapped around our forms, protecting us from flying ice chunks that broke off of the bones Papyrus used to protect us.

Papyrus wildly looked around, trying to understand the situation as well as keep everyone safe. His bones were used as rollers along the ground as he grabbed the souls of Kat and Kook to yank them behind him. With the two other bodies of the young adults behind me and me attached to him, Papyrus prepared to face Will in his deranged state while keeping us protected.

God that day couldn't get any worse!

"Frisk." Papyrus slowly moved backward while Will approached and circled him. "Can you grab both Katarina and Askook?"

I hid my face in his scarf. "Yeah..."

"I need you to grab them and run."

My eyes widened at his words. "But Papy-!"

"Do not argue with me. They're lives matter too much." Papyrus hushed me quickly. His eye sockets never left Will's form that kept trying to get closer to his friends behind us. "You need to get away from him and call for help. See if you can reach Undyne, Angel or Sans."

I hadn't felt such fear in my gut in a long time. "But what about you?!"

"I will do what any member of the guard would do. Hold him off until help arrives." With careful hands, Papyrus set me down beside him, holding me close to his figure. "Grab them slowly and carefully, but the second he moves, run."

I whined at his words, but nodded. Papyrus slowly let go of my waist that he held to him and allowed me to step back behind him. Papyrus then let his large frame be used as a shield to protect me from the deranged Will. I backed away from him with my chains slowly wrapping around the other two in the area.

It was just as my chains touched them that Will attacked.

The roar escaped him and I had to race to wrap the chains tightly around the figures of Kat and Kook. I squealed in surprise as his first hit the ground and it shook the earth below my feet. Papyrus dove then as my shield and savior to keep me and the other two safe while I rushed backward.

I might have been stronger than I had been before, but I would only hinder Papyrus in a fight. That bear was out to kill us. He was messed up. That drug really hurt him.

I pulled both Askook and Katarina's bodies under my arms, wrapping them to me with my chains before another couple of them shot out to grab the nearby trees and sling me away from the area.

I only had seconds. I had to get help for Papyrus!

Digging into my coat pocket, I yanked out my phone and dialed my sister's number on instinct. I felt dread build up in my chest as I waited for her to answer.

It was the fourth ring before she picked up.

"I'll be home soon Frisk, just give me a bit long-"

"Help Angel!" I cut her off quickly. "Will's gone nuts! He was smoking something in the woods with Kat and Kook and started attacking us! Papy is holding him off! He's in Snowdin Woods! I'm running back to the house with the others! They're knocked out!"

"Oh my... damn it!" I heard my curse on the other end of the line. "Head back to the house Frisk! Call Undyne and Sans! I'm on my way!"

And like that, the line cut.

My sister was no longer there and I had managed to land myself back into the town. Everyone looked at me wildly with two adults under my arms as I ran to the house. Before I'd even made it to the front door, I was calling Sans.

I hoped I could reach him.

Witch's Note:

HERE WE GO!

Oh yes! Oh, I've been looking forward to this forever! So! Ideas? Thoughts! I must hear what everyone is thinking and saying! Oh, I can't wait for reviews!

Oh, forget it! Let's do it now! Review time!

MysticBoywastaken: Oh, Mystic Boy, I'm so eager to see what you have to say after this chapter! And glad you agree for the idea! I'll have more details about it at the bottom after I respond to everyone so make sure to stick around and read it okay? And don't you worry, there's more Frisk POV on its way, promise! You and Mystic Girl seem to have a similar mindset, so I'm fairly certain you'll love the next few chapters that are Frisk focused. Some of Mystic Girl's favorites that she can't talk about yet since they haven't been posted.

Mystic Girl: That's right! Those are coming up soon! How much longer Halloween?!

Me: Oh, those Frisk focused chapters in the middle of this arc? They're peppered in between chapter seventy-seven and eighty-one. And we just posted seventy-four today. So not long! Within a month!

Aqwillabee: Oh, you're in for a lovely set of chapters when you get back to reading then! This one was a doozy! I'll be excited when you come back to read it. And I promise I'll do my best to take care of myself. I'm actually happy that I have so much content already written so that I'll be able to take a short break if needed. But I'm trying to keep up too. If its anything… your idea you already gave me that I said would be the first chapter… yeah… already wrote it… The idea kinda hit me like a ton of bricks and I just… couldn't help myself…

Whoops? Sorry, not sorry!

Shadow Phantom: Alright! Another one for the ideas! Perfect! I've got more info listed about it at the bottom! Please look out for it!

(I take a moment to look at my best friend who's sharpening her weapons in the background.) Mystic? Did you take a look at this message that Shadow left you? I think you should, they bring up a good point.

Mystic Girl: I'm not looking!

Me: Mystic…

Mystic Girl: I said, I'M NOT LOOKING!

Me: (Sigh.) I think she saw it and is ignoring you… my apologies…

Dasansi: You really do have an incredible mind! Granted, I can see where you're coming from with Angel being immune in trials and what not. You'd think so, but Asgore has yet to know that she's a human. He still only knows her as Ravie the skeleton that hides herself due to scars from abuse. She has to keep up that rouse for the time being until he knows. Until then, Angel the human and Ravie the skeleton are two different people.

As for the number of Jury members, I honestly never gave a true amount to it. Currently there are nine jury members along with Sans the judge. We have Angel, Muffet, Hops, Glyde, Shyren, Grillby, Free, Mappy, and Whisk. The main goal is for them to be an odd number so that there's no possibility of a tie when it comes to voting for the sentencing of a certain accused. Sans on the other hand is the judge who keeps the jury on track, keeps track of them all, and is the extra odd vote for when the jury is not odd in numbers.

But onto a more important topic… (I struggle to hold back the giggles while Mystic Girl is screaming and throwing large items in the background.) We just seemed to notice that… ehm… correction you sent in our direction… And Mystic Girl is a tad… upset…

So, while she's busy help me hide the second bear! (Even if you're not a fan…)

Mystic Girl: (She pauses when she hears the words, second bear.) Second… bear?

Me: Oh shit.

Mystic Girl: I want that bear, that second bear I've got plans for. So… give me the bear!

Thechaosmaster: Yahoo! Ideas and ideas galore! I can't wait to start working on that side story Chaos! I'm also so eager to see what you send me for ideas! I can't wait to start writing them when you're ready! No rush! And I'll put more details about the side story at the bottom.

Still really loving your ideas about Will and the possible drug dealer. I'm eager to see if your right or not, and your response when you find out! I think this chapter may have answered a handful of questions, but opened so many more!

Mystic Girl: Chaos, I would first like to ask if you'd like to be my right-hand man? If so, the next meeting is next week. After the next chapter comes out. All you need is the cross bow and a couple swords, not sure if the other weapons are necessary. And your so close to who the next murderer, but I'm so pissed I can't say anything! (Tersely looks at me, with a strained grin.) Right Halloween?

Me: (Stands there with a bright grin despite the weapons in her hands) Yep!

Mystic Girl: So, see you next week Chaos! Signed by Captain Mystic Girl

Ninja Squirrel: Oh, you absolute adorable cutie! You're so sweet to Will! Do you think the same though after this chapter? And yes, I agree. Smoking acid mushrooms doesn't sound smart at all. Just like when Angel's arm couldn't be healed due to the mushrooms interfering with healing magic. It seemed to turn the effects opposite and hurt the recipient instead. Ouch…

I hope this chapter was worth the wait! But don't go anywhere! More is to come!

Great! Info about the story will be listed below! Almost there! Hang tight!

RoseCentury: Holy shit! Rose, I would faint if I heard I was having that many kids! Are you doing, okay? My goodness! What a miracle you guys have been given! I really want to know now what the genders are! That surprise baby… holy moley… you gotta have a mix…

But don't think you have to tell me. I'm just whining. But still congrats. Now you have to come up with a fourth name! Damn… so many kids in one go… I hope you guys are gonna be okay.

Phew… So many reviews! So many people but now we can talk about exciting stuff! You guys all agreed to the side story idea! Mystic Girl and I have been hard at work. A name has been chosen and the first chapter has already been completed! Ooo!

So its at this point you can send in ideas if you want! Now, everyone gets a limit of five. Every one of you has amazing ideas, and I can't imagine this happening, but I am going to have a special rule in place for anyone who may have a duplicate idea. Whoever sent the idea in first will keep that idea. For the person who sent in the same or very similar idea, I will let that person know and they can choose another idea instead. This way we have plenty of different prompts for me to write for all of you! I have documents and folders already to go.

The time to send ideas is between now and August sixth! That is one week before the END of this story. I'm going to use that time to tie up the end of the story and do a final good-bye to this story when the time comes. Then a week after this story ends, our new story is going to posted on August twentieth! I'm hoping to have enough ideas to post twice a week! Wouldn't that be great! And just so everyone knows what to look forward to, the name of the new story is-

Mystic Girl: Wait!

Me: What?

Mystic Girl: Should we really be telling them the name just yet? Shouldn't we keep it a surprise?

Me: (I raise my eye brow) You honestly think we could keep it a secret for long?

Mystic Girl: No… But let's try to hold onto it for just a little longer. We just got that sorted a few days ago.

Me: Okay… if that's what you want to do. Don't hate us guys, we'll tell you soon! Love you all and see you next week!
