Two Worlds, Two Souls

Chapter 77: The Assembly

Angel's Point of View:

The swish of my cloak brushed against the floor when Sans and I walked the hallways of the hospital for the tenth time that month. Eagerly was the king to find out anything he could about the drug circle that he'd been pulled into. But after all the time that we'd waited, the young adult had never woken.

In the time that Will had been brought to the hospital along with his two friends, Katarina and Askook were currently well enough that they were then locked into a detox program to clear themselves of the dangerous drugs. When they saw what it had done to Will, the two of them cut out the stuff entirely. Hurling any leftover material at us to study and research, they never approached it again and stuck out through the problem. Seeing Will in such a state... I never through I'd see the brash and unrelenting teens succumb to anything.

But they did when they saw him as vegetable.

Yet, we couldn't wait forever for the information we needed from the male. We needed help to narrow in on where to send Frisk to in the high school and who to look out for.

So, we had to call in some special reinforcements.

Vinnie walked into the hospital with his latest charge with him. Samson Corona had been paired with him for the last half a year during when this case had started right before his release. Samson worked diligently to becoming part of the royal guard.

At one point, he had mentioned to me that he wanted a more intellectual job rather than physical. It worked for a while, until Samson decided that his gift would benefit the guard. And he was right. In a situation like this, his gift was amazing for searching the person's memories and finding key pieces. Even if it had been used against us at a given point for nefarious deeds, he seemed to have a better control over it and a much more determined outlook on his life.

But that would also only work if Will even remembered most of those details.

Samson was led right up to the bed we sat beside. Maria had stayed home with the kids today, unable to see her son's body be hijacked by another. I knew it was a strange thing to see. Having seen Sans in that kind of position all those months ago... even if I knew Samson had changed, it still left a bitter taste in my mouth.

No differently than thinking of how Undyne had chased us and caused me to lose an arm.

"You ready to do this kid?" Vinnie looked over at his ward that he'd been teaching and training for such a long time.

"As ready as I'll ever be."

Samson looked so small in comparison to everyone there. He honestly was almost the size of a child. Watching him approach the bed showed me just how powerful that young man was if he really put his mind to something. His small size fooled you into thinking he was someone to be taken advantage of. Yet the calculating eye was there. The large brain on the inside of that delicate looking head.

There were very few I was sure that would have the will power to defeat him.

Samson let his eyes glow lavender as he touched the skin of Will's hand. The effect was instantons, his body dropped to the floor and Will's eyes opened. Though they glowed brightly with Samson's magic.

We watched as Samson first went through the movements of Will's body. He first flexed his fingers and toes, moving joints slowly as he adapted to the body he was inhabiting. He then reached back to touch the back of his skull and feel over the area. Part of the bear's head had to be shaved in order to cut a small part of the skull out when his brain had swelled earlier on.

"Wilbur is suffering still from some lingering pain. Its echoing mostly from the back of his head, though I can tell from what vague awareness he has of himself that the pain has dulled since the operation to allow a hole in the back of his skull."

"Good," Vince encouraged him from the side. "See if you can piece together any of his memories. Can you find any faces that we could get a sketch of to show the human child?"

Samson nodded before his eyes flickered and dulled for only a moment, searching through the memories of the male he was attached too.

"The memories... they're fuzzy due to the drug I believe. I'm struggling to get a good look at some of their faces, but their voices are pretty clear... wait..."

Samson paused, a slight raise of the hand of Will's as he searched through the memories.

"They meet in the boy's locker room during sports practice. I vaguely can see the one giving him the drugs is dressed as a mascot." Samson lifted his head for a moment. "Can you give me pictures of who are the current mascots are? I might be able to match one to these hazy memories."

"I'll get some copies." Sans noted quickly with his garbled voice under the cloak's magic. "Red, see if Samson can get a good enough image for ya ta draw a sketch."

I gave him a quick nod. "Yes Judge."

With that Sans left while he went about getting the photos of those who have been the mascot in the past so many months or so. Anyone could be a subject. It was highly possible that Samson would have to look over the entire class of Will's high school to determine who the people were giving him the drugs.

Samson sighed as he searched more of the memories. "Juryman Red? I know this is probably a given due to what overwhelming evidence you have found against this male when in an aggressive state, but I see the memories of how he attacked all the victims. They're buried in the deepest part of his mind that was difficult for me to activate without using some assistance of my magic."

"I see..." I paused, we already knew that Will had killed them under the drug's effects that ruined his mind, but it was possible that the drug could have enhanced any feelings of darker thoughts he may have had in the first place. "From those memories can you pull how he was feeling or what was going through his mind at all? It would be helpful for the doctors when they get him to wake."

"One moment." Samson paused as he thought through the memoires of the bear. The glow of Samson's eyes became much more intense before he lifted his head up to glance at me. "It appears that he had some elevated feelings of loneliness and depression during these moments. There was helplessness, and... I think I see a memory where due to these early on elevated emotions is the reason he brought both Katarina and Askook into this little drug habit of his. They kept his symptoms at bay. He apparently brought them into the group just after he presented some more drastic symptoms. They kept him in line. Will appeared to have been on his own when the attacks happened and he lost control."

I nodded and turned to the doctor that was just outside the door of the room we were in. I jotted down all that Samson told in an effort to help Will once he was out of this vegetable state and get him the help he needed.

"Thank you for the information. And the faces?"

"I do see the same face every time, but it still is blurred enough that I can only make out certain details."

"What can you see so I can attempt to do a sketch?"

"Hm... male, I can certainly hear it in their voice. They sound older, like a senior or just graduated. Hm... I think they're from the football team, I can see a larger build on them, but their body is hidden. Perhaps... is that... a gnome? I think I see some wings glittering out from behind them in the costume... perhaps it was used to fool us into thinking it was a mascot?"

A fairy type-based monster... granted, their kind deals a lot with unique plants and their special characteristics, it almost makes sense...

"Keep searching Samson. I'll inform the judge of your discovery and see if we can get our hands on the most recent year book to have pictures of all the teens." Turning to Vinnie, I gestured back to Samson. "Keep here with him and call our numbers if we're not back in time for another discovery."

"Yes ma'am."

Frisk's Point of View:

I tried to keep my head held high as I was led into the Snowdin woods by Papyrus. I didn't have my cloak on me for once, but was covered in my winter garb to keep me protected.

Once Jurymen Green heard back from me on my decision to assist in the investigation, he gave me a date, meeting time and location to join him along with the other members of the jury. They all and the judge were to give me information about the case away from the king until the operation was over, and with me being in Snowdin, it made the most sense to meet up in the midst of the woods.

"This will be quiet exciting, Frisk!" Papyrus eagerly said, though he tried to keep his voice down. He was to be my guide and protect me in while on our way to the meeting spot, but beyond that, he wasn't supposed to join me. I had to be on my own with the jury.

But Angel and Sans would be there, even if they couldn't say anything for me, just knowing that they would be there made me a bit more at ease.

"It is exciting, but also a bit scary." I breathed deeply to try and calm my nerves. "I hope I can help."

"I know you can! You have been very helpful the last year since you decided to change!" Papyrus kept trying to encourage me on and it felt like little butterflies were jumping around in my chest in both embarrassment and pride. "Just think how far you have come since I first met you near two years prior! You will turn fourteen this year and with it, the king will see you and perhaps finally lift the laws! You could go to school once you complete this mission!"

And that made the fear come back head on. "Papy, I know your trying to help me, but calm down a bit, okay?"

My friend rolled his eyes. "Frisk, you're starting to turn out like Angel."

Defiantly, I puffed out my chest and argued. "Am not!"

"Are too!" Papyrus rolled his eye lights at me. "While you may be much more energetic, some of your mannerisms have turned a bit more like hers. She has been a large influence on your life for many of those years, you know."

I whined at that. "But I'm not like Angel... she's amazing..."

Papyrus' face softened at that. "You are growing up. As you grow you will learn more and become your own person, but not without influence or habits that are reflective of another. And it wouldn't hurt for you to say that to Angel once or twice you know."

"I know..."

"Is it a girl thing? A teen thing? Or a human thing?" Papyrus questioned. "I made sure to be always honest with Sans, even if it annoyed him!"

"Probably a teen thing, you were just special Papy." I shrugged my shoulders. "I remember Angel was a bit snippier with me when we first were on the run when she was about my age. She used to get angry every now and then and really huffy."

Papyrus gasped. "I can't even imagine Angel acting like that! It must be a teen thing!"

Before I could reply, a figure appeared just to our side. Slowly fading into sight, it was one of the jury members who must have been a ghost monster from how they floated just off the ground, their cloak seemed baggy on them, and they faded so easily in and out of sight.

"Frisk the human. I am Sky of the jury." We both stopped walking as they floated before us. I assumed they were female from the higher pitched voice, even if it was masked by magic. "Papyrus of the sentry division, thank you for bringing her out this far, but this is where you must remain. Incriminating information will be passed to the young child that we cannot have others hear for the effectiveness of the plan."

"I understand." Papyrus' bright and cheery disposition could not be halted as he saluted the jurymen and hugged me quickly. "Good luck Frisk! I'll be here for when you get done with your secret meeting!"

"Thanks Papy." Pulling back, I turned back to the person who stood before us to lead me deeper into the Snowdin Woods. So deep that the tress hardly looked healthy or safe to travel under. But I knew the jury was there along with Sans and Angel. I would be safe. "Let's go."

The body then began to float away from me. Deeper into the woods I traveled with Papyrus staying behind back where the light of the crystal showed through the trees so much more easily. I saw him for a few moments longer before the trail became too difficult for myself to transverse without focusing on it and I lost my friend's figure.

Deeper and darker did the path become as we traveled, it got to the point where it was almost like night time in the woods. Eventually the jury member before me had to pull out a flashlight from their robe to light the way and so I didn't get lost. Why the hell did we have to come out so far?!

More lights suddenly appeared up ahead. I glanced upward from the thin path for a single second to see many robed people around me. I felt my eyes dart around to see the multiple figures, ten I counted in total.

That's a lot of people...

My eyes moved about until I focused on the white robes of Sans that I knew he wore. I could only assume that Angel wasn't far from him, perhaps to his side?

"Thank you for coming, Frisk Seeley." I was approached by another of the jury. I was surprised it wasn't Sans who spoke, or perhaps he was there just to witness it along with Angel? I knew the two of them really didn't want me to do this, so they must have given the task to someone else to ask. They sounded male, so I assumed they were. "I am Jurymen Green. I shall present the information and mission to you under the gazes of the other jury members and judge. Is that acceptable to you?"

"Yeah, sure." I carefully looked at him. I tried to see any feature about him that would tell me who he was. Did I even know who he was? Knowing my luck, probably I knew at least a handful of knew of them through Angel and Sans' association.

I was handed over a folder to look over. I could easily see a handful of pictures that were of a football team where certain faces were circled for me to focus on. None of them I recognized beside Will who was off in the corner of the page. But there were other images as well, others that were blow up for me to see their faces better.

"Take this home and memorize the faces and names. These are the people we suspect being a part of this drug circle, which this gent being the mastermind who hands out the drugs. His name is Wentri Garnetfoot. Be careful around him and any of the others you run into."

With that, he closed the folder so I could focus in on him.

"Miss Seeley, we ask that you blend in, make friends with those of the football team, do whatever you have to get closer to them and see if they will include you in the drug circle. We will have your bugged with recording equipment and cameras to watch your life and assist if anything becomes too difficult. You will receive a code word should you require immediate assistance of the guard or us of the jury. We will all be remaining near by the instant that you are in danger or have proof recorded of who it is that is passing out the drugs or who is crafting them."

I nodded to him quickly. "Okay, I'll do my best."

"Good. We appreciate your assistance." Jurymen Green stepped back and then to allow me some space. "And I assume it goes without saying that the folder should not be shown to anyone. Including your family."

I pouted, but nodded to him. "Yes sir…"

"It is important that you do as such." The juryman, Sky, said only a few feet away, slowly floating around me. "These are important evidence files that we've recovered that we can't allow just anyone to see. We don't need any of the suspects to know that we're looking into them."

"Okay, okay. I got it." I sighed and tucked the folder against my chest, using my two arms to hold it to me. "I'll keep it safely away. I'll hide it in Sans' room. I know no one goes in there besides him and Angel, and they won't look at it."

"Very good." Jurymen Sky floated away again, stopping by Sans' side to whisper to him. Once he nodded to her, she came back around. "And this would be the end of our assembly. I shall escort you back to Papyrus."

Just like that, the other jury members and judge vanished out of thin air besides Jurymen Sky. I wasn't sure if they all had special teleporting abilities like Sans did or if he teleported all of them. With them gone and the information given to me, I hurried back to follow the monster that led me back toward Papyrus. He stood there just as eagerly as before, waving me over to him once I could see him and the jurymen vanished.

Now I had to focus on the most important set of homework I'd ever had to work on…

Witch's Note:

Did any of you all expect this?! Sampson is helping out the guard and even the case?! Now that's a new twist! But it looks like Will perhaps got yanked into the drug circle a long time ago… what a shame to see what he was turned into…

And then we get a glimpse into what Frisk calls 'the most important homework in her life'! The entire jury and judge came out to see her in the secluded Snowdin Woods in order to pass her files and information for her up and coming assignment! Oh boy… this is gonna get messy, ain't it?

Well now, let's see how you all reacted to last week's positively ludicrous chapter! Review time!:

Dasansi: Oh yes! It won't be much longer before the meeting with Asgore will be happening! Just a good handful more chapters after this arc is over with! Maybe five more? Not much. Its gonna be great!

And yeah, you gotta feel bad for the remaining family of Will's. His mother Maria and adopted brother MK were the only ones to survive the ordeal and not be killed off by the eldest. And yes, perhaps MK is putting on a brave face for his mother. Who knows? He's getting to that teenage age. He technically would be the same age as Frisk, which you may be seeing a bit of soon during her undercover mission!

MysticBoywastaken: My dear, dear friend, anything could be the reason she could get hurt in this story! But I have no direct involvement! That I can promise you. That would be a bit extreme, would it not? Besides, your sister would have my head if anything too bad happened to Frisk. Your sister loves her quite a bit.

Mystic Girl: Damn right I do! She's basically me in the story! Duh!

Me: Yes, yes, I know. Why do you think I hurt Angel so much more? Depending on the situation of course.

Thechaosmaster: Oh yes, Chaos. I think you'll love the special attention that Frisk will be shown in the chapters where she's undercover in the Waterfall High School. Many of our lovely characters will be helping to make sure our lovely Frisky stays safe, but will it all work out or will something else bad happen? Oh goodness, who knows!

And yes, MK and Maria moving in is both a step for them, whether it's positive or negative yet remains to be seen just with the way that Maria acted the second she got to her old home and how she shattered when she got to Angel's home with the others.

Oh boy, looks like the meeting is starting… I'll leave you be with them Mystic Girl.

Oh, midnight milkshakes are delicious! But so are veggies too! Can you still have bacon? One of my favorite foods to eat is brussel sprouts cooked with bacon! If you do it, cut some bacon into smaller pieces or get bacon ends, throw them into an electric skillet and cook them down, then take out as much of the fat as you can before throwing in some brussel sprouts! It cooks/steams them and with the bacon grease it tastes so good! But obviously not to much. You could also add either maple syrup or balsamic vinegar to flavor it too! Both tastes are pretty good and I use it for meals at work!

Glad to hear the flower store is working out well! And bake woman! BAKE!

Not A Shady Guy: Shady! So good to see you and yes, you've landed right into a hot mess! I'm so glad you were happy with the reveal. I thought I'd given enough hints that it was Will, but I suppose that depended on the reader. So many people have a variety of characters that they were guessing otherwise as the murderer.

But I had been looking forward to doing Frisk in a school environment for SO long, I can't even tell you. Having her homeschooled for the near entire book just worked so well and irked me so much because I'd wanted to do scenes for her for so long and I couldn't! But here we go! With an undercover mission to boot! Ain't this a treat?!

Rasberries123: Heya Raspberry! Good to see you back here and glad your enjoying! And yes! Like I said before, I've been looking forward to this for so long! And I hope you love the little spin off bits I have coming up for it! Stay tuned!

ShadowPhantom: Hey Shadow! Truer words have never been spoken! And that's just plain hard on a recent widow and one of her only remaining relatives. You can only imagine the feelings going on in her body, the switch, swatch of them all and how fast they're moving and causing such a hassle. And certainly not making it any easier for that poor mother to grieve. And oh yes! We'll see very soon how that pans out for everyone! Just a tad more prep to do! But not much longer!

Okay, wow… lots of people! Its so good to see you all commenting and following along. I hope you all know just how much this means to Mystic Girl and myself. You guys are so awesome! And best yet, we've managed to make it to two-hundred and seventy-six reviews! Can you all believe it?

And I'll have you all know that I've got two chapters already written for our little side story! I got three more ideas that I'm working on, two from Aqwillabee and one from Choas! You guys are more then willing to send in any other ideas when you can so I can get working on them, if there's anything you can think of! I'm loving the ideas I've gotten already! We've got some very different POV's going on for each chapter! Not a single one of them is like the other so I hope you all will enjoy this immensely!

Love you all and see you next week!
