Two Worlds, Two Souls

Chapter 78: Moment of Truth

Angel's Point of View:

It was difficult to hold back my frustration from traveling to the same hospital for the last two months. Constantly had Sans and I had to travel there for work. Or myself and any other jury members as we waited for Will to wake or to gather more information.

Samson had used his abilities a lot for a few weeks just to comb through the thoughts of the bear. Discovering more of his memories and trying to piece together what we could through the haze of the drug. Will had a few many problems that would have to be addressed once he was settled.

But he had finally woken up.

Over the last two days, Will had finally woken up from the coma he was in. It was a few days before he could actually sit up and move a bit without assistance. Maria often went over to help him with MK. He wasn't moving much yet after everything that had happened, but he was trying for his family.

From what Maria told me, he was very coherent of everything happening around him. While his memoires were still fuzzy, he knew he'd done something bad.

Maria had not been the one to tell him that he'd killed his family. That fell to Vinnie and Samson who where there that day when he woke up. I'd heard that Will... didn't take it well, as would anyone who found out they had been the ones to kill their own family.

Briskly walking through the doors, we landed just before Will's door. I glanced quickly over at Sans who stood beside me. His face wasn't visible due to his robes, but my magic could sense the worry in his soul. He wasn't sure what we would be facing, and neither did I.

"You ready Judge?"

"No better or worse than ya, Red."

And with that, he reached for the door handle.

Upon stepping inside, we saw the white furred bear sitting there at the bed. He hadn't notice us then while his gaze was out the window. He was graced with a beautiful view of the flowers outside there that led down to a courtyard. He watched the small butterflies and bees hover around. His face was contorted into a poker face, but I could feel the emotions swimming in his head.

He felt so guilty... it was overpowering as I stood near him in the same room.

The bear had been shaved on both of his arms to show where giant welts were growing due to his using of the drugs that weren't always in the form of joints. They weren't nearly as large and aggressive in color as they were when he was first brought in. Ugly scars though were the reminders of his mistakes he'd made.

"Wilbur?"

The bear looked in our direction as we stood there in his room. He said nothing before letting his head fall forward a bit as if in a bow.

"Do you know who we are?"

"Yes. Jurymen Red has been around plenty of times... and I've seen you before Judge."

"Good." Sans slowly approached with me beside him. "Do ya know why we're here?"

Will's face hardly changed other than the shadows under his eyes grew a bit. "About the drug circle that I was a part of, right?"

"Right." I approached slowly on his side. "Do you remember who was the head of it or your drug dealer? We need to stop them before this happens to anyone else."

"You know, it doesn't matter how much you ask me that. Everything is fuzzy. I don't remember."

The bear's gaze glanced to the floor. Of course, we knew that he probably wouldn't remember or would act like he didn't depending on how scared he was of the drug circle. Will had never been harmed or threated before as far as we were aware, but that didn't mean the looming disaster wasn't in the air. He knew what would happen if he gave out the information if those facts weren't gathered prior to his releasing of that information.

Sans sighed at that. "Alright Red, seems like he really doesn't remember. We gotta go with the backup plan."

That caused Will to pause and look at us, paying a bit more attention. "What... backup plan?"

Following the plan, I glanced at Sans for a moment before he shrugged. "The plan where we've asked the human child ta infiltrate the high school in order ta find out who is a part of the drug rin' and brin' 'em down."

"WHAT?!"

It was the most energy I'd seen out of the bear in months.

He jumped from his bed, the wires and needles ripped out of his arms as he yanked himself free. The roar that escaped him reminded me much of his father when he'd get all riled up. I couldn't help but think I was staring into the eyes of Robert in those moments.

His cry rang out over walls and floors, almost causing the ground to shake. Sans and I quickly took a defensive position as we faced the bear, not sure exactly what it was that he was planning on doing.

"How the fuck could you decide on that?!" I was actually surprised when I saw Will showing even the smallest amount of care for my sister in those moments. "She's a fuckin' kid!"

"She's our best bet of gettin' what we need." Sans' cool words were hardly loud, but the bear strained to hear them, even as his growling continued.

The door behind us slammed open and a set of doctor' and nurses flew inside, most likely feeling the power of their patient through the walls. "Judge, Jurymen Red, is everything alright?"

"Its fine, leave us be." Removing myself from my crouched position, I stood before the doctors and was a partial shield between them and Will. They weren't to get involved. The last thing we needed was more injuries or deaths on our hands. I knew Sans would have my back as I dealt with the unneeded extras in the room. "We are in the midst of our information gathering. You're interrupting."

"He's a patient! He's still not recovered yet!" One of the nurses cried. "You can't treat him poorly just because of what he accidently did!"

"Neither of us are, he reacted badly to a piece of information." I breathed deeply as I tried to keep myself from losing my patience. I'd been good about watching my temper in recent months after our fall out with Mettaton, but that hardly meant anything some days if I was in a particularly bad mood. "You need to leave."

"Jurymen… forgive me… but…" the doctor hesitated with his words before trying to step forward again. "Shouldn't you continue your interrogation another time? Wilbur has only woken a few days ago and is still very weak."

"I beg to differ."

Why wouldn't those idiots just leave? The king ordered them to listen to anything we said. What wasn't I doing to get that across? They shouldn't be here with us in the room.

"Red." I stiffened slightly at Sans slightly irritated voice.

"I'm aware Judge, apologies." Straitening my back more, I walked close to the doctors and nurses. "Leave. We will call you in when we are done. This is your final warning before I force you out."

"You have no right to treat us like that you bigots!"

The nurse's words both infuriated me and I could sympathize with. She wasn't wrong, our treatment of Will wasn't good with what information we were revealing to him shortly after him waking. However, if we didn't stress him with said information, we perhaps wouldn't be able to find anything. If was apart of Sans' plan. While he didn't like what he had to do, Asgore said to do anything we could get evidence. So long as we weren't hurting him physically or pressing too hard on his mental state.

On the other hand, it was not that of the medical staff to question us. We as the jury were hand picked to assist with helping in cases such as these. While we did value and hear the opinions, that was as far as they were to interfere. Beyond that and they would be arguing against the king's orders. It could be reason for a fine against them for preventing us from doing our jobs.

Before anyone could say another word, a nurse yelped as my magic grabbed them, pushing them outside the door. The doctor and the others quickly stepped back and out of the room while I followed, making sure the door was closed behind me before even more of my chains could appear for Will to see.

"Cease this at once." Everyone froze at the words that echoed from my vocals. "You are interfering with the work of the king to find the drug circle that caused Wilbur to be this way. I will overlook this one time. You will not have a second chance. Do I make myself clear?"

"Jurymen Red, if I may-"

"Do I make myself clear?"

Cutting off the doctor, he only hung his head in defeat. "Y-yes ma'am. We understand."

"Good." Slowly lowering the nurse to the floor, she huffed at me once she had the ability to move. "You will all remain out here until our meeting is over."

Ignoring any other comments or looks of the staff that watched me, I re-entered the room to see Sans and Will talking a bit more calmly then before. Will had returned to the bed, thought he sobbed into his hands. I felt bad as I watched the teen cry.

"This was a choice that we gave ta the human girl, 'n she chose ta accept it." Sans told Will, ignoring or not noticing yet that I was behind him. "She's aware that the task at hand is dangerous, but she is willin' ta preform ta increase her standing with the king. She's in hopes that her sister 'n her can live within the underground peacefully."

"…Why…?" The younger male muttered. "Why can't I remember?"

"The drugs have done terrible thin's to yer memory 'n mannerisms. Acid mushrooms were used in the drugs ya were usin'."

"What the fuck?!" Will couldn't seem to almost get his words out. "The same… fuckin' stuff that took Angel's arm?!"

"The one in the same."

"Fuck! Fuck! I made Kat and Kook take that stuff in!" Will looked on at Sans in worry. "Are they okay?!"

"They had far less exposure ta it then ya did. They also didn't have bad reactions ta it either."

That seemed to cause Will to calm himself, even if only slightly. The younger male didn't even try to hide the large tears that flowed from his face. "C-can I see them?"

"Ya can, once we're outta here, kay?" Will gave a feeble nod to Sans. I'm sure hoping to end the meeting here as quickly as possible.

Granted, seeing how everything panned out, Will didn't remember much of anything. Samson's take over abilities showed us that. There was little else for us to do. Our plan, while gone flawlessly to what Sans had said to expect, we still didn't yield anymore information that could assist Frisk in her mission.

"If ya remember anythin', don't matter the size or importance of the detail, make sure ta get it ta us. Kay?"

A quick nod came from the bear. "Yes sir."

"Good, rest up Wilbur. Get yer life back in order."

Sans took those moments then to turn back around and face me. When he saw that I was alone in the back of the room, nurses and doctors no longer there, he sighed, but nodded to me carefully.

"Let's go, Red."

"Yes Judge."

Following him out of the room, we took off without a word to the medical staff before they flooded into the room. We were left alone as we traveled the halls to a darkened space where no one was watching. As soon as we were out of the line of sight of others, Sans grabbed me and teleported away.

We landed in the basement. Easily could we hear Papyrus and Frisk spending time together on the floor above. We didn't want them to know we were home yet. Quickly did Sans head over to the secret room we had in one of the walls. He let his eye light up in magic before the door opened and we slipped inside.

I hurried to sit on the desk in the room while Sans took to the office chair. The wall closed behind us seamlessly that left us with the ability to breath and make it inside easily enough. Once inside the secret room, no one would hear us. Sans had made it sound proof. Nothing was going to get through those walls unless they were destroyed.

"So that was hardly informative…" I sighed as I slipped off the hood of my cloak. Sans did the same as he sat there in the chair. Quickly did we hang them on the back of the door so they were out of the way. "I'm assuming that Frisk is going to have to go in with what we've gathered?"

"That's 'bout it. We figured that'd be the case, but can't lie and say I was hopin' for anythin' new that woulda come from him wakin' up." Sans sighed, leaning his skill into his hand. The look he gave me though was softer than it was when he we first arrived. "Ya did good with those workers. Sorry for snappin' at ya."

I shook my head quickly at him. "No, its fine. I should have had a better handle of them when they first came in. I know that they were trying to help… but… we have to carry out the king's orders to keep everyone safe."

Sans snorted at that. "Ya sound like a true advocate for the king when ya say that. Comin' from a human, that's pretty funny."

Rolling my eyes, I smacked his shoulder. "Oh, hush Darling."

His boney brows wiggled at me in his humor. "Whatever ya want, Precious."

"But still, on a more serious note. There… there really isn't anything else that we can do to help Frisk be prepared, is there?"

The grin on Sans' face turned sour quickly, as he seemed to have been worried about the same thing. "Yeah… we've done all we can. It's up ta her now."

"I just… hope it's enough."

Witch's Note:

Oh no… no more possibility of stopping this now! Frisk is going in! Its now out of Angel and Sans' hands with what's to happen! But what will? You'll just have to come back and visit next time to find out!

So, shall we dive into reviews? Let's do this thing!

MysticBoywastaken: Oh my… your still on this tangent that you think that I'm going to hurt Frisk? My, my, your determined. Come on now, I won't hurt her. I can't. I'm simply writing out her story. Besides, as I'm sure you're sister will tell you, I have a hell of a lot planned for Frisk in the beginning half of story two. Best prepare yourself for it!

Oh, and before I forget Mystic Boy, another reviewer that goes by the name Commander had a question for you. He wants to know if you love Frisk and hate Robert more then your sister! Do be honest now!

Dasansi: Well, we have to be honestly here Dasansi, Papy is currently only about… eighteen at the moment. So still fairly young and spend quite a bit of time with Frisk while Sans kept him quite innocent most of his life, so it doesn't surprise me that while not too many factors have changed will we see much of a chance in him from that persona. Hopefully we'll see that change at some point. I know there's a lot of growth for him in the second book, but we're still a long time away from that!

Also, I sent you a PM last week in regards to story ideas and what not. You should be able to see it when opening your profile if you've had a chance to do that. Plus, an email is also sent to the email account you attached to your profile that should have showed up too. Let me know if you didn't get it! I can try again!

Thechaosmaster: Now, now Chaos, don't get too angry. Justice will be served in its own right soon enough! Hang in there a bit longer!

But I'm glad you're getting to work on your story! So glad! But take your time and make sure it's up to your won personal standards. Then I'll get the pleasure of reading it once you're done! You got this!

RoseCentury: Hey there Rose! Don't burn yourself out too bad! I just about did that to myself pulling a forty-nine-hour week that I just finished last night at almost six in the evening. It was a long day. So glad for the weekend… Still doing good with the kiddos?

Not A Shady Guy: Hey Shady! Yes! I've been wanting to do this for so long! I can't even express how much I've wanted to put Frisk in a public-school setting! We're finally making it, even in a somewhat strange way! But let's do it anyway!

Oh goodness! I'm sorry to hear about your school. I hate to hear about anyone getting dragged into those kids of circles. None of your friends or people you know are involved right? If so, I'm really sorry… I hope I'm not hurting you…

Political situation? You mean who wants to kill the bear and not? Nah, nothing's much changed. Same team players. Haven't seen any changes since the last time you commented on it, I'm afraid. No new up and coming binge readers either. Trust me, I keep an eye out for those.

Shadow Phantom: How right you are Shadow! Frisk is like a magnet for trouble, so much so that you'll be seeing a lot of it later on in this story and in book two! I hope you stuck around long enough to see it all!

And as for that statement you put out… yeah…. I know… I used some… unique wording last time. So as we all know, Angel is a character made fairly well after myself while Frisk and Mystic Girl are very much cut from the same mold. As I would with anyone I care about, I intent to keep them from harm. But myself? Hurling myself into chaos, stressful situations and keep painful things away from friends and family because its better for them not to know? Yeah, I'm guilty of that. And perhaps I view Angel so much like myself, its part of the reason I do more harm to her then Frisk. I'd rather hurt myself rather then someone else.

Raspberry123: Yes, my friend! Think, think, think! Give me ideas! IDEAS!

But I guess you'll have to sick around and see what avenue Frisk decides to take when it comes to blending herself into the school. How does she plan to assert herself? How does she blend in? How? Why? What? When? Who? We only know the answer to one of those questions.

Commander: Oh yes, gamers all the way! Granted, I'm not one for much reaction time games. I love games where you build, craft, gather, sometimes fight, but also make your own little sliver of paradise! Wanna guess what my favorite game is that I've played the most? I know there's a lot of games out there, but you're welcome to guess. The only clue I'll give you is that its honestly not Undertale! (Gasp) I know, I know… the wound I've caused…

As for your questions, first off Frisk is currently around ten chains. She's kinda stuck there for the time being until another large event takes place to force her to create more. Maybe this next step in school? XD

Also, I made sure to question Mystic Boy above. Granted… I have a feeling I already know how this is going to go-

(In the midst of writing this, my momentary peace is interrupted by the slamming open of the door by a frazzled Mystic Girl who appeared to have run from a very long distance to make it to this very special appointment. She breathed heavily before stomping over to stand by my side. I sigh, curl a piece of hair behind my ear before holding a file for her to inquire on.)

Me: So, this is the file for you to review, by the way, where have you been?

Mystic Girl: That doesn't matter. Give me that!

(She snatches the file from me and takes a quick glance at me before a glare peaks out from over the edge of the folder. While a normal person probably would have sunken into the ground in fear, I simply tried to hide a yawn out of respect.)

Mystic Girl: What the hell is this?

Me: A donkey.

Mystic Girl: The fuck? (The file was hurled into the air and I debated whether or not I would clean it up later.) What's wrong with you?

Me: It's been a long week and you know what that is. Don't be a bitch. (I turned back to my work, waiting on her to talk.) Well? Your answer?

(Mystic Girl actually has to pause for a second, thought it seemed as though she wanted to answer right away until she looked at the question more closely. Her ill mood dissipated slightly as she tried to control her emotions for her brother's comfort.)

Mystic Girl: We both do of course, do you even have to ask?

Me: Oh, and before I forget Commander, my brother DOES in fact know about Undertale. He has mixed feelings on it. I've asked him to play it and Deltrarune to have his own opinion, but I think he just isn't a fan of how… crazy some people have become because of it? At least, that's what he's explained to me. Or something like that… I have no idea…

Phew, okay, there's another chapter done! Alright! I think we're making some good progress! Love to hear your thoughts or see if any of you have any ideas for writing for the new story! I've currently got enough ideas for five chapters, so a lot of you haven't sent in ideas yet, but that's okay! Take your time! Think hard! Make sure it's exactly what you want! I've gotten most everything I've been given so far written or its partly done. I just hope I'm doing justice for all of you guys.

We'll find out in a few months!

Love you all and see you next week!
