Two Worlds, Two Souls

Chapter 81: Flashes

Frisk's Point of View:

Sophia kept a strong grip on me as we traveled away from the school's football field and headed toward what I assumed was Hotland. We passed by a couple of patrols of the guard that Kris eagerly waved at to make them think that nothing terrible was going on.

But the guard knew, they knew to watch me at all times and take note of where I was going if it wasn't home.

I could only pray that Vinnie got the note that MK was supposed to give to him...

Once we got close to the entrance of Hotland, Kris actually took and dove us all quickly into a alleyway that took us back toward Waterfall. I was surprised by this path, but I could only assume it was due to anyone apart of this group not wanting the guard to find it.

We were led through pathways and tunnels we had to crawl through before we ended up though a hidden entrance before one of the botanical gardens. Granted, I knew we were in the western section when I saw the acid mushrooms glowing off in the distance.

Shit... things were about to be real...

Kris eagerly held open a door for us as we walked inside. Sophia and I were glued to each other. Two smaller girls in the middle of a large group of men and possibly drug addicted definitely didn't sound good.

I hoped no one could see how tight my grip was on her hand. I'm sure it would give away the actual feelings I felt in those moments. I tried to keep a carefree, relaxed face. I hope my soul wasn't as potent as my sister's.

"Where are we going?" Sophia whispered when she thought the others weren't looking.

"I think the research center... but stay close to me. Just in case."

"I'm not letting go of you..."

We were led inside a separate tent to the side. I made sure to pay special attention to the name attached to the outside of it. I barely saw the name listed as Garnetfoot before I was led inside. Inside the tent was men of all different years from different spots teams, and even one lady to the side who was cozied up to one of the seniors. In her fingers was a blunt like what I saw Will and his friends have before. It was purple and gave off that putrid smell I remembered right before Will attacked us.

"Kris, you made it!" The supposed leader, the gnome that I'd been warned about, stood. Wentri Garnetfoot was his name. He was the one assumed to be the actual dealer. Eagerly he stood up and welcomed us into the circle of people around him. Gathered around, he began to pass along smaller pieces of blunts for us all to try. "These ones are for you try here kids, if ya like it and it helps, I'll set up a payment plan to get more. Got it?"

"Thanks man!" Kris eagerly grabbed the blunt and lit it. The four of us who were new watched, processing what was going on before Kris handed over his blunt to his buddies next to him. "Go on my dudes! Give it a try! Really relaxes and calms the fuck outta ya."

While the others were focused on that, I in turned looked back as I heard the door opening. I watched carefully past my messy locks to see an older gnome just like the teen come into the tent with more of the product.

Was he the one making the products? I had to get the guard here before we got dragged in any deeper!

"Do you want to try it Frost?" I turned my head back to Sophia while the older man and what I assumed was his son talked. She held the small blunt between her feathery fingers with a nervous look to her. She knew this was wrong, and probably knew she should have never agreed. "I hope this doesn't make your head worse than it is already..."

My heart soared as she set up the perfect scenario for me to call for help. "I hope so too, would hate to go to the trauma ward again. That always sucks!"

I waited and counted down the seconds. One, two, three, four, five, si-

It was instantiations. Within those few seconds of me saying the secret word did five guardsmen break down through the ten and pointed their magic at all the people inside. The men were caught so off guard that no one had time to prepare or hide any of the evidence.

"All of you! You're under arrest!" It was Undyne at the front leading the charge. Vinnie and Ryu I recognized were right behind her as they began to grab everyone they could that were a part of this rig. I pocketed the blunt and grabbed onto Sophia as we watched with wide eyes at the action that went around us.

I saw the older man and his son try to make a run for it. Only making it three feet, they got halted by spider silk that I saw was shot in their direction. I saw their bodies wrapped up, even to the point where they were unable to use their wings. The jury then showed up next with Sans at the front in his white cloak.

Sophia was frozen beside me. I struggled to pull her back against the wall as everything came crashing down around us and bodies were grabbed and screamed at. At one point, Sophia couldn't watch anymore and hid her face in my shoulder, shaking like a leaf.

That chaos didn't end until half an hour later when the tent was cleared. When it was, I saw one of the jurymen standing before me. I could only assume it was Angel.

"Frisk Seeley, thank you for your co-operation." The jurymen said before us. "You will need to give a report to the Judge. Would you be willing to allow us to escort Miss Oulette back to her home?"

"F-frost?" I glanced down at Sophia who clung to me under my arms. Her eyes were so wide in fear as she watched me. Was that how I looked at Angel when I was little and scared?

It made me want to keep her safe at all costs.

"Jurymen Red, can I take her home myself before giving the report? The guard can come with me if someone needs to watch us."

"That is acceptable. I will inform Vincent to walk you to her home and then back to the where the Judge will be located. We shall gather statements from her later."

"Yes ma'am."

With that, my sister left us inside the tent. I took those precious moments to help Sophia to her feet and try to help the girl compose herself. When she was standing, gripping my arms as if I would leave her in a heartbeat, finally did she allow her body to calm down.

She blinked at me softly. "Frost... who are you?"

A grim smile came to my face. "I'll tell you later once I give my report to the jury. Let me get you home."

Deflect the question and just get moving. Such an Angel thing to do...

Was that how she always felt when taking care of me... I hated to admit I was respecting her a lot more then with how much bull she had to put up with.

The walk to Sophia's house was quiet as she held hands with me. Vinnie walked just a short distance behind us. His eyes trailed on our figures and anyone who came within a few feet with us got quite the stink eye.

Once we made it to the center of the plaza for Waterfall, Sophia stopped us there. That was normally where she would stop anyway and fly the rest of the way home since her house was just above. Inside the cliffs I could see where her home was. I normally had to use the lift to get up there and travel along the bridges to get to her house safely.

"I'm... assuming you won't be at school tomorrow?"

Sophia didn't look at me as she said those words.

I couldn't look her in the eye. "I'll text you when I can."

Just like that she leapt into the air and flew away. When she landed at her front door, Vinnie sighed and clamped a hand on my shoulder.

"Let's get ya back to Undyne and the Judge to report, okay?"

I nodded, but I worried that... maybe I might not see my new friends again.

Angel's Point of View:

"So, we all in agreeance?"

Sans stood at the head of our gathered group. The two men in question were trapped by my chains in the center of the room. The two head drug dealers, a scientist and his son who passed everything out and collected payments. Wentri was the one to find prospective buyers throughout the school while his father, Gnorbitt, made the drugs to make some money on the side. Both had ruined the lives of many people in the underground. After they were captured and most of the group was rounded up, the druggies squealed like little piglets. They'd been running that business for almost four years.

That was going to ruin both of their lives.

"Yes Judge," Grillby quickly noted from at the back. "We will begin their five-year sentence immediately. Gnorbitt will be stripped of his titles and degrees, while Wentri has lost his scholar ships with drug use attached his records. They will both have work incredibly hard if they ever want a stable place in society again."

"Good, Red," I turned my head to face Sans as he called for me. "Take those idiots to Sim in the prison n' get them settled. Once ya do, hurry back. The king wants all of our reports."

"Understood Judge."

With that, the meeting was adjourned. My chains flew as the bodies of the two accused were rushed out of the room along with myself. I took as little time as I could transporting them to their supposed cell and leaving them in the hands of Sim before returning to the castle.

The mission was finally over. While I was relieved at that, another problem quickly arose. The king's decision on us. Whether or not we would be allowed to continue living in the underground or if we were to be killed or locked away.

I only could hope that we had done enough to prepare for that.

As I returned to the throne room, the king sat there with all ten of us at the ready. The others were removed of their garb and I could see all their faces. They all were just as worried about this as we were. Perhaps that meant they were emotionally compromised to the king. I wasn't sure how that would play out.

"Now it is time for the next pressing matter." The grim face that was shown to us was all we need to know of the king's worry. "I assume all of you know of the humans that live in the underground currently and have met them a few times or watched them, correct?"

No one spoke to the king; the silence was all he needed to hear to know.

"I see. Very well then. It is beyond time I've met these human girls who have moved into our society. The next mission of all of you, I ask that you let others of the underground know that two weeks from today with be where all monsters will be excused from other duties to come and speak on the behalf of the two humans living here to help prove their innocence, or voice their concerns against them. It is during that time that I will make my decision on whether or not they will live in the underground along side us." With a heavy sigh, the king waved us away, needing moments to himself. "Dismissed."

Some were hesitant to move in those first few moments, but slowly did we leave his throne room. One by one until we all had left. No one dared speak and quickly did others depart for their own areas of the underground. Sans and I remained together and he quickly grabbed up my arm to teleport us home.

Once situated in the center of our living room, Maria was the one there to greet us while the younger ones were playing games together. Video games seemed to be there go to as Papyrus and Frisk played, and MK cheered them on, his lack of fingers certainly not helping him.

"Ah! Sans! Angel! You're home! Glad to see you!"

But even her cheery smile could not lift the conflicting emotions swarming through us.

She noticed that quickly. Seeing how the two of us hardly said a word, the slightly downcast look gave her all the information she needed.

"What happened?"

And just like that, the game was paused and all eyes were on us. Sans and I couldn't look away as we were placed into the center of attention.

With a pained grin, Sans looked to the others. "Asgore's gonna meet the girls in two weeks."

"Oh-what?!"

"Really?!"

"Oh crap!"

"Goodness! Oh goodness!" Papyrus flew from his seat as did the others as all of them were yelling happy or worried cries. The taller skeleton shook Sans by his shoulders in his antics. "How long do we have Brother!"

"Two-ah! Pap! Quit it!" Papyrus listened only for a moment since he noticed how Sans was already riled up some from the event going on. "Two weeks, Bro. That's what we got before then ta get others ta help us convince the king."

"Then I will get started immediately!" And just like that, a whirlwind of Papyrus came through our home as he grabbed his boots and rushed out the door.

"Wait for me Papy!" And just like that, Frisk was on the move too. She yanked on her boots to try and hurry after him

"I'll go help too!" MK hurried to shove his feet into his shoes. "Mom! Come on! We can ask everyone around town!"

"Your right honey, here, let me help you with those." Maria hurried to assist her son before she was quick to the door. "We'll see you two later, okay?"

And just like that, the house that was normally filled with such activity and people was reduced to two. Both Sans and I sighed before we looked to the couch and eagerly sat on it. Surrounded by the silence, we let out secondary long sighs before looking at each other.

"Well, sounds like we'll be busy for the next two weeks."

"Yes, but for now I think the others and the little ones with Maria are good enough to ask around." Leaning back into the couch, I tried to relax, but just felt like I couldn't. I pulled out my phone and filtered through the contacts. I still took forever to use that god-damn thing… "I think have energy enough to ask one person."

"One?" Sans questioned softly before his eye lights lit up when he saw the device in my hands. He sighed as realization hit him. "Tori."

"I'd like to hope that whatever bad blood happened between them she would put aside for us, but… I don't know…"

"Ya won't know until ya call 'er." With that Sans stood up and headed for the kitchen. "I'll make ya some of yer shitty tea while ya do that. What flavor ya want?"

"If we have any lavender lemon left, I'd love that." Sans never looked back, but the salute he showed me was enough to know that he heard me clearly. Once he was out of sight behind the half wall, I hit Toriel's contact to ring her.

The phone rang on a few times. We always had called the goat woman to inform her of things happening in the world outside her door. She eagerly latched onto every story we had to tell her. She enjoyed talking to all of us. Even Papyrus loved speaking to the kind woman whenever there was a chance.

After four rings did she finally pick up. I was grateful.

"Hello Angel. How are you today?"

Her motherly like voice always calmed me down after a particularly difficult day, much like Sans did when he dotted on me. Much like in those same moments.

"Hi Tori, I have some news."

"Oh?" She paused for a moment, most likely trying to determine the nature of it by the sound of my voice alone. She was good like that. "What news?"

In those same moments, Sans returned with tea for me. He set down a large mug before me and took a seat beside me, our shoulders touching as he listened in to hear Tori's voice. I ignored the close proximity and continued with what we were doing.

"Asgore plans to have a gathering in two weeks to meet all the monsters that are willing to fight for our… living here in the underground."

She sighed quickly. "So finally, it has come to that. I was wondering when it would happen. The mess that the underground was in from the murders and the drug circle must finally be over with."

"Yeah… it is. So now he wants the jury and judge to pass around the news to everyone in the underground. He's allowing everyone a free day where no one will be punished for leaving work early or anything of the sort while he questions his people about us." I couldn't help but clench my fingers when I thought about what I needed to ask her, and how I was beating around the bush as much as I could. "Tori… I'm sorry to ask you this… but… but would you…?"

"Angel…" I could hear the older woman sigh on the other end of the line. "Yes."

"What?" I whipped my head around to see Sans' equally startled face on his skull. "Really?"

"Regardless of what happened between myself and Asgore, I can't let that stop me from doing everything I can to keep you safe." I heard her breath turn shaky in those moments. "I know that I haven't followed that at all during these last two years. I've been a demented old goat who's been too angry and afraid. I've seen what you two have done, two bright and shining souls that absolutely can not be snuffed out. And… I have my own things I must discuss with him… I have not been a good person either. We both have our faults to face… and perhaps my coming back will assist in his decision."

"Tori… thank you…" The large relief came over me in those moments and I could help but sigh. I was still worried, but the ease that I felt then made it much more bearable.

"My child, I will go on ahead of you. There are many things I need to talk over with Asgore. You will see me there on the day of your summoning. Bring as many others as you, in the case that I might not be enough."

"Of course."

"Good, now… I need to prepare. I shall bid you a good day, and please tell Frisk that I will call her when I have the moment. Try not to call me unless it is an emergency."

"Thank you, Tori. I'll let her know. Love you."

"I love you too, my child."

Witch's Note:

Wow… oh wow… oh boy… people! Its go time! Out of the fire and into the inferno!

So Frisk managed to catch the father and son duo that was involved in the drug circle, but now we move onto another wave of insanity! Asgore! Asgore is coming for them! Oh shit! Oh damn! Perhaps Tori can help us? Oh god, who knows.

Here we go!

Review time! I gotta hear from you folks!

Thechaosmaster: Did I hurt your little heart?! XD Don't you worry, Sophia is safe, but now I put your precious Frisk and Angel on the line instead!? Haha!

I'm sorry your brother got Covid, I hope he feels better. I had it myself in January, but I had no symptoms during the time, but my boyfriend was miserable. He felt like absolute garbage twice turned over. Its not great, but I guess it depends on the person and what not. How's your brother doing now? Hopefully better!

Mystic Girl: I had it too and it sucked… not great…

Shadow Phantom: I wish that it was true! But sadly not so much… I sadly have to admit that when I wrote this chapter, it was before I'd gotten much into Deltarune or seen much of the material myself. So, I can't clam that there's any sort of special connection I'm afraid… Sorry about that.

Commander: So, does this beat the "oh shit", count? XD Trying to do all we can to keep it fun and exciting! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on this!

MysticBoywastaken: Who the hell are you smooching? Okay then… but anyway, yes! Frisk-Frost, whoever! They were in the heat of the moment, but now we really into the fire!

Oh boy, so next chapter, are the girls accepted? Is there a fight? Is there any other issues?! So many crazy things are going to be taking place during these next few chapters! Are you guys ready for this!

And thank you all so much for helping us hit three-hundred reviews! Let's see how high we can climb before the end of this story! There's only eleven chapters left!

Love you all and see you next week!
