Two Worlds, Two Souls

Chapter 88: Within the Soul

Frisk's Point of View:

I shot myself off the ground the second I hit it. My sister had hurled me away from the action the second she could. All our friends were gone somehow, eaten, and Angel was the only fighting off that crazy creature that took everyone!

I raced to look back to where Angel was. I gasped when I saw her eyes glowed red and blood already dripped from her nose as she summoned all three of the spirits attached to her. My heart froze as I saw the amount of magic she was using. I saw Mom, Dad, and Wingdings all standing in a defensive line before her.

Granted within seconds, they moved to help her.

Wingdings I saw move first to stand before my sister while bones shot up out of the ground, the edges of them spiked and stabbing at the goat monster we were facing. When Asriel escaped that first attack, my parents shot forward, hurling punches at his body that threw him into the barrier behind him. Using the surrounding area as a weapon just as much as they were.

My sister tried to limit the amount she moved so she could focus on the magic to keep the three of them there as long as possible. I could see her already straining under it as the blood continued to dribble. It made me really fearful as I watched her…

My parents were the ultimate tag team, alive or dead. The two of them raced about the room in an effort to keep Asriel back from where my sister was or where I had been thrown too. I could just barely make out what was going on through the wall of chains she had set up.

She was trying to keep me safe. How could I be so useless a second time?

When I was a child, I couldn't help her as she ran. When I was a preteen, I could help her as she kept me safe from Undyne. Now as a teenager, I still couldn't help her because I was afraid of a demonic flower.

Well, fuck, of course I was still scared… but I couldn't let that stop me…

Angel was holding that asshole back. She was the only thing that prevented the demented form of the dead prince from hurting everyone that we loved and cared about. He already took our friends and family…

Oh god… Sans… Papy… Tori… Alphys… Undyne… Asgore…

How could he do such a fucked-up thing?

They couldn't be dead, could they? Really? They had to be alive. Asriel was feeding off of their souls, he couldn't continue to get stronger if the souls were used up, and that most likely was also keeping him in that semi-normal form of what he looked like before.

That's when I felt it. The pulses of their magic. In the air, I could feel them…

But they were weak, they wouldn't last long with whatever it was that Asriel was doing to them. I had to help them! But… how? How did I get to them inside of him?

A terrible, a really fucked up idea came to mind…

I am such an idiot… but if it takes being an idiot to save them, then so be it.

I really hope that Angel doesn't kill me…

Even as my nerves shook like a leaf, I got to my feet and pushed myself toward the fighting. Angel's chains had just enough of a gap in them that I could keep track of the fight. Both sets were evenly matched, but I knew for a fact that Angel would tire out soon if nothing was done.

With my own magic and willpower pushing me forward, I shoved myself through the chain like wall separating me from the battlefield. I had moments to act before Angel tried to stop me and got herself hurt.

Shoes digging into the ground, I hurled myself forward toward the fight. All participants were so focused on each other that neither of them even saw me. I hurled my chains forward toward Asriel's mouth to drag it open wide. Comically, it did so, as if he had no jaw, and there became a hole large enough for myself to dive into.

"FRISK!?"

"Trust me!"

It was the only words I got out before hurling myself into the mouth of the demented monster. I didn't have long to find my friends before even I would fall to whatever happened to them. I had to stray strong, determined, and find them.

It was as soon as I jumped in that blackness was everywhere, and a strong wave of magic hit me that cause me to black out.

Moments Later:

I felt myself startle to once I could feel myself again. I could vaguely remember the sudden almost barrier like of magic that was at the base of Asriel's throat that knocked me out. I hoped it was only for a few seconds, but I had no idea.

The area around me was literally like an endless black void. I couldn't see anything around me, hardly even my own hand as I floated in nothingness. I didn't know what was up, down, forward or backward. Everything was the same. Nothing was different.

But that was where I could feel the others were.

Small chains wrapped around my body in the darkness. It gave off a small amount of light that allowed me to see my own appendages. I tried to shoot out my chains to see if they got close to any of the others to find their location. Glancing around in the different directions, one of them I could barely see the body shape of someone I knew.

My eyes widened when I saw it was Tori. She curled in on herself when my chains came around. Her soul was barely pulsing at that point. As I pulled myself closer, I saw her lift her head just enough to see something white cast over here eyes. I couldn't tell if she could see me.

"I am a failure… I could not stop or save anyone… my children… my friends… not Angel or Frisk…"

"Tori?"

"There is nothing for you to do besides leave me. I have nothing left. I have failed at every turn."

"What?!" The screech that came out of me was pissed at that. "I call bullshit!"

"But it is the truth, my dear child. Let my memory fade…"

"Like hell I'll do that!" I yanked myself to her and held myself to her arm, chains wrapping carefully around her. "I know you've made mistakes. We all have Tori! I'm certainly no exception and neither is Angel! But you're not solving anything by letting this place hurt you! Fight it! Tori! Help me save Angel!"

Like a light switch, the whiteness over her vision faded and she looked at me with wide strawberry eyes. A gasp escaped her before she yanked me to her arms.

"Oh Frisk! You are alright!"

"Of course, I am!" I grinned at her eagerly. "Like anything bad would happen to me!"

"Of course, my child… but…" It was then that Tori looked up to see the black vacuum of space where we sat together. "Where are we?"

"Inside that monster…" I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to call it Asriel, as Angel and I had figured it. Probably not with that being her dead son… that would come later. "I dove in here to find you guys. He took everyone except me and Angel!"

"I see… and I am the only one you found?"

"Yeah… I can feel them around us… I think I'm starting to get used to that sensory style of my magic like Angel can when she can feel the emotions and intentions of those around us." I frowned as I glanced to the blackness, irritated as I saw no one. "But the connection is weak… you were in a bad place when I found you."

"Yes, my child." Tori looked pretty grim as she thought back to what happened moments ago. "We should find the others before whatever happened to me takes both of us over."

"Right."

Like before, I sent out my chains, allowing them to glow as we looked for our friends in the darkness. The search was constant as I used as much of my magic as I could to find anyone. Then, there was a whisp of red.

Undyne or Papy…

My chains narrowed in on that character to wrap around their arm. Tori seemed to notice it too as the red glow highlighted blue skin and a black sleeveless shirt.

"Undyne!"

My cry was in vein, however. The fish woman had the haze over her vision just like Tori did and she snarled. Her anger made me pause and not pull myself too close to her.

"You damn humans!" Her cry rang out in the space before blue spears illuminated the area. "DIE!"

Pulling back all chains but the one hold her, I defending both Tori and I from the assault. It was so strange… what was this place doing to them? Tori said she was a failure… Undyne was attacking as if she didn't know us…

"Just hold on your majesty!" Undyne's determined cry rang out in the space. "I'll get you away from that human!"

Did she even remember me?

"This place is making you guys forget Angel and me!" I couldn't help but gasp as Undyne hurled more of her spears at me, coming at me at multiple angles that it confused me. I could hardly keep up at moments so that Tori struggled to use what little of her magic she had left to help keep us safe. "Undyne come on! Don't let that stupid flower win! You're stronger than that!"

But that just caused her to rage. Her cries rang out into the area as she yanked on the chain connecting us to her so she could get closer for a hit.

"Undyne! Come on! We're friends! Best friends in fact!" I tried to plead with her as she came closer. "Don't you remember all the spaghetti we made together in your house?"

For only a moment, the fish woman paused in her assault. Her fingers twitched and the veins on the sides of her heads were pulsing. Did she remember something, or did a memory come to her?

"You're mother! Natasha von Undying! She wrote that beautiful piece for the piano!" I tried to think of any memory that would calm her down or make her think. I knew family should have done it, I only hoped it worked while my heart threated to beat itself out of my chest. "It was such a beautiful piece! Don't you want to hear it again?"

Maybe I was playing to much on her emotions. For the one single time in the two years I'd known her, Undyne shed a tear.

"You, me and Papy would have sleepovers and training all the time! The king even gave you extra paid days off so we could spend them together! Don't you remember?"

Undyne raced to wipe the one stray tear away that flowed from her eye. But when she did that, the most emotional part of her must have broken. More tears began to spill from her single eye.

"Please Undyne… remember me… I'm Frisk… the crazy little punk who always would hang out with you after you became our friend. You showed me how to defend myself, you always made things so lively. You even were going to help me get Sans and Angel together." I tried to keep my emotions from going too crazy as I felt dread, sorrow and some happiness all at the same time. What was wrong with me? "You can't tell me you forgot that of all things?"

"Fuck no, ya damn punk!"

And with that, the whiteness removed itself from over her eye and the golden iris glanced around her before it landed on me.

"Frisk! Your majesty!" Undyne's eye widened before she glanced around. "What the hell is this place?"

"We are inside the monster that gobbled us all up." Tori commented darkly. "Frisk is here to assist us in escaping."

"Yeah, and we have to hurry!" I could only hope that Angel was still okay out in the real world or wherever she was outside this thing. "She's fighting him all on her own and called her ultimate move! She summoned Mom, Dad and Wingdings! She's not going to last for too long!"

That was all the information they needed to know before their faces turned grim and they looked to the outer area.

I had two then, I had only four left to go. I needed to find the others...

I searched out again. My chains sensing and searching as I came near the others. With Undyne and Tori attached to myself, they quietly waited while I concentrated.

Another flicker of red caught my attention, and I knew instantly it was Papy.

Just like before I used the chain by him to clutch us to his arm and see the red glow on the white bone of his arm. Papyrus floated there in the space looking very lost. He kept looking around wildly and as soon as he felt the chain, he summoned bones into the air to defend him.

"Who is there? I-if it's a human, the Great Papyrus will capture you!"

Was it just me, or did he sound nervous?

"Papy!" I called out to him. "Come on, remember me? Its Frisky! Your partner in non-pun related crime!"

"Puns?!" Papyrus cried out in irritation. He sounded much more like himself then, I think I hit the right nerve. "I hate puns!"

"I know you do! But you hated it when Sans and Angel flirted even more!"

"F-flirt? But..." Papyrus paused as he seemed to think, the whiteness over his eye socket quickly faded and I saw glowing orange from them. His eye sockets widened as he looked around before he saw the glowing chain on his arm. Following it, he saw us floating only a short distance from. "Frisk!"

"Papy!"

I was so elated to see him like himself that I yanked him toward us, wrapping him up in our little cocoon of people.

I wrapped my arms around his middle the second he was next to me. "It's so good to see you!"

"Yes, it is good to see you as well... but... ah..." Papyrus hesitated as he glanced around the location. "Where are we? And how did we get here?"

"We're inside Flowey's body right now. He... ate all you guys..." I shuddered as the memory came to mind when I saw Papyrus' scarf being sucked down his throat. "You guys along with Al, Asgore and Sans are still here... and I think that Ra guy too."

"And... this is inside of that monstrosity?" Papyrus near wailed as he glanced around, unconsciously holding me close. "Where is Angel? You said nothing about her?"

And that brought about an ugly reminder that we had to hurry. Other chains quickly scattered out to look. Granted, I didn't have as many as Angel did. I was getting low on how many I could use that weren't holding my friends to me. "She's holding him off while I grab everyone. The longer you guys are in here, the more he feeds off your souls and gets stronger."

"Any luck with the others yet?" Undyne worriedly looked around. "Asgore? Al? Sans?"

I sulked at that. "I haven't felt them yet... I'm still working on it!"
"Sans!" Papyrus called out; his cry echoed in the blackness we floated within. "You lazy bones! Where are you!"

Moments ticked by where nothing happened or nothing was seen. Not until something glowed in the distance. It was a light glow of red that we saw that slowly grew until it was blinding.

It was a fireball.

"Shit!"

My chains weren't enough to hold back the fire. I flinched and looked away, not able to stop the hit or grab anything to move.

"My child! Be ready to grab him!" I was surprised by the cry of Tori as she pushed her paw like hand before me let loose a fireball to keep the other one from hitting us. Waves of heat blasted out, lighting up the area just enough for me to see the body of Asgore below us by fifty feet.

"There he is!" Papyrus cried out and I raced to hurl one of the few chains I had left out at the large goat male.

The chain landed around the arm of Asgore and he actually yanked us closer to him once he felt it attached. I could see the strain in his features as we were dragged closer. He must have saw us as an enemy, he didn't ever know such a thing as good humans until we worked so hard in his underground kingdom.

Undyne scoffed at the situation. "Asgore, what the hell are ya doing?!"

"Gorey!" Tori used that deadly voice that Angel only used on occasion when she was about ready to smack me. "Enough."

And that alone caused Asgore to stop. We were held together just before him a short distance away before his washed over features gazed at us, focusing on me.

I struggled to hold back the whine at how difficult he was being compared to the others. "Asgore, come on, remember Angel? She's a member of your jury! She's done so much for you as a human and I helped with that drug ring operation! Remember me? I'm Frisk! Come on!"

Tori gasped at my words. "Frisk Seeley, how in the world do you know that?"

"I'll tell you later!" I brushed off Tori's gaze before turning back to the king. "Come on Fluffybuns! We have to stop that stupid flower from destroying the kingdom, but you have to remember! What about all the tea times you had with Angel while Sans drank stupid amounts of coffee? We were both humans, but we wanted to show you that we were good and didn't want to hurt anyone! We wanted to be your friends and live peacefully in the underground. God damn it! Wake up you idiot!"

I didn't know which comment did it, but Asgore twitched before us. The same process happened as the other three and he came back to his senses. I could finally see his ruby like eyes looking around in confusion.

"What in the world?"

"No time to explain!" I was down four chains as I held onto all four of them, brining Asgore into my grip. He was startled by the move while I left the others be pulled a bit back from me so I could look around the area and use my remaining six chains to locate our last two friends... oh, and Ra. "We gotta find the others! We're almost there!"

"Damn it... why do I feel so tired...?" Undyne huffed a bit more as we remained in the space.

"Save your magic, Undyne." Tori commented quickly. "This must be a part of that creature's ability to take our magic and use as his own. We will wear ourselves out and leave Frisk defenseless if we do not act with care. She seems to be the only one feeling well after all of this."

Looking carefully at all my friends and family, they appeared exhausted. None of them were without worn looks or ready to fall over if it wasn't for me to keeping them up.

"Just gotta find Sans and Alphys... and that Ra guy too think."

My chains felt around in the dark again, glowing about as I tried to find the last two... or three... damn I kept forgetting that other guy...

"Yowch!" I yelped when I felt myself be zapped. I carefully looked out in the darkness to see what chain Alphys was near until I saw electricity dancing in the dark. She was the only one I knew that had that kind of magic.

"There!" My cry alerted the others as they looked down to our friend. All over her body could we see her magic protecting her while she held her head in her hands. She looked like she was suffering so much...

"Here punk." Undyne kicked off Papyrus' arm to get closer to Alphys. "I'll get us closer."

Undyne floated away from us, but constantly could I see her due to the light of the chain. She landed just next to the scientist before Undyne yanked us down in closer since I could bring us. While she wasn't outright attacking us, she wouldn't let us too close.

"Alphys?" I questioned her softly. I hesitated putting my hands on her in fear of getting shocked.

"Al?" Undyne tried as well. "Can ya hear us?"

"...never..."

I blinked at her. "Alphys?"

"...never s-should h-have done it..."

"Alphys." Asgore narrowed his eyes at the monster. "Speak clearly. What should you have not done?"

"U-use Asriel's ashes... and C-chara's m-magic..." The electricity angrily passed over her body preventing us from getting closer. "F-flowey... t-that's t-the c-creation f-from our r-research... W-wingdings h-headed the project... t-trying t-to bring b-back h-hope t-to the u-underground... I s-should never h-have a-agreed to h-help..."

"You did what?!"

The cry that escaped the former queen was understandable, even as Asgore and Undyne attempted to hold her back. I could see the rage and upset over her children being used for such a terrible project. Heck even I didn't know about it. Even I tend to find out the government protected secrets after enough time had passed.

"Tori, do not blame Alphys." Asgore hung his head. "If you wish to be mad at anyone, be so at me. In my time of grieving, Wingdings presented the idea to me an idea that perhaps… at least one of our children could be brought back with magic and science. I approved of the project, even with the negative possibilities surrounding it. Flowey, the abomination created between Asriel's ashes and Chara's magic, became soulless and escaped. There was no evidence of the flower in all the time between then and now, so we only assumed he left to live peacefully."

"How could you!?" Tori's screams echoed in the area while she turned on the king. "How could you allow this to happen?!"

"I was desperate! You had left me and my children were dead!" Asgore hid his eyes behind his arm. The man appeared to have little to no will to fight. "I am sorry that I wished for them to be brought back and feel to some stupid illusion that it could happen!"

"You two can fight about this later!" I snarled at them, snapping the two of them to look at me. "We have bigger problems then whose fault it is! We can worry about that later when we're all safe and this shit is over with!"

"Damn right punk!" Undyne agreed quickly. With her arms crossed she leaned over closer to Alphys. "Come on Al! We gotta stop that crazy flower and we need yer help for it!"

"Yeah Alphys, we can't run away from this, we gotta stop him!" I tried to talk to her too as she peaked out of her fingers to look at me. "Come on. We'll stop him together and face this together. You can say your sorry, and I'll still be your friend."

"R-really?" With a hesitant voice, the electricity began to recede on our friend. Her eyes came back into sight and she looked at me nervously. "D-do you m-mean that?"

"You know you did something wrong, but now we have to do that right thing and face the bad stuff and stop him. And the first way to do that is to get out of here. And all that's left is Sans…"

Papyrus gave me a sideways look. "And Ra, Frisk."

"Damn it." I hissed. "Thanks, Papy. I keep forgetting him."

With Alphys back to normal, I used a chain to grab her. Once she was apart of the group I had with me, I used the last of my chains to search out for the final of our group. Sans was the only one left to find.

Where is he?

When I felt something hit my chains, I hurried to yank us toward it. My eyes widened, then narrowed at the body of Ra. He was knocked out cold when he was in the grip of my chains. There wasn't even any whiteness over his eyes. Was it because he was knocked out?

"He doesn't have that crazy stuff over his eyes…"

"Yes, that would appear to be so." Papyrus commented. He carefully pulled the knocked-out lizard closer to Alphys who had the most medical knowledge of all of us.

"H-he h-has little t-to no m-magic left!" She cried out worriedly. "F-flowey m-must have t-taken a-all h-he can f-from Ra!"

"Fuck!" Undyne hissed. She then cupped her hands to holler out. "Sans! Where are you, asshole?!"

And that was when my chains finally caught another body. I narrowed my eyes and pulled us toward it. The final body in the space was Sans, the very male we were looking for as his eyes were covered in the white haze and just barely could I hear him whisper.

"Just give up… I did."

"Don't you dare fuckin' do that! You can't do that!" My scream echoed before anyone else could speak. "You made a promise to Angel! A promise, Sans! You promised that you'd keep her safe! Don't tell me your going back on your word?!"

If anyone knew how to get Sans moving, he hated promises.

He was one of the fastest to come to. One look at me had the skeleton easing up and pulling himself closer.

"Damn Kiddo, great job gettin' my boney ass movin'. But uh…" He breathed deeply before giving me a nervous look. "I can't teleport… sorry…"

"Then I'll get us out of here!" Pulling Sans in close, I hurled out my last three chains to find an exit. "I'll figure it out and get us to Angel! I have to! I don't want to lose my friends!"

My determination… I could feel it… increasing… my ten chains I could summon doubled. Another ten came from my body and began searching for an entrance. I had to find the way back out. Before that monster killed us all.

Witch's Note:

Holy shit! What a chapter folks! Frisk manages to save them all AND gets more chains! What a bundle! But still more crap is going on! Asriel/Flowey is not down yet! And still we have another four chapters left! FOUR! I seriously can't believe how close we are to the end, its insane! And I can't wait for you all to see this ending! I hope you all love it! Certain people I know are just going to squeal themselves to death when they see it!

Looking your way, Chaos!

But anyway, we got a handful of reviews to talk about! Let's do it!

Shadow8Phantom: Seeing the last big fight is here, there's lots of work to do! And about that comment, who knows if we'll hear about it? Asriel is kinda trying to kill the girls right now for their souls, so who knows?

But as for you comment on Flowey, you have an insane point that I wanted to bring up with you. When I first began writing the story, I wanted to follow the plot for the most part while throwing my own flare on it. With that being said, focusing on the girls and the story that they presented to us. The game talks about Asriel and Chara throughout it in small bits here and there which I tried to incorporate when I could, but Flowey makes very few appearances besides the beginning and the end. Which is the reason why I depicted the story the way I did.

Granted I can see the point you made, because it looks more like I just copy and pasted rather then carefully webbed him into the story as I did all the other characters. It is one of the greatest flaws I'm certain is with this story. I was honestly hoping for a few side ideas focused on Flowey to try and flush out part of that missing presence during the first story. I've had one idea come through for him so far that I've been able to flush out, but that's all I've obtained thus far.

Wolfoi: Hello there! Don't think I've seen your name before! Quite a special spot to join us so close to the end! Glad you're enjoying the story and you're more then welcome to post any questions, things you've noticed to discuss, or if you'd like, we'll be starting a extra story right after this one with chapters focusing more on the side characters or the girls during their journey into the underground that perhaps weren't presented beforehand in this story. You're welcome to join in on the fun! You can send me ideas via Private Message or here in a review!

Thechaosmaster: Heya Chaos! I'm glad you liked my depiction of Flowey eating the others! Well, in the game if I remember right, he absorbs everyone, so this was just more fun for me! Now he's stealing their magic and energy, the final fight has begun!

Oh yeah! I was wondering if I'd see much about your story soon! But I understand, original ideals are hard! Story two is going to be all original besides the characters that carry over, and man is it hard to keep all the names strait! But good luck! And message me if you need someone to bounce ideas off of! I tend to be the freest during the weekend, but I sometimes get off work early (rarely…) but I can look at my phone at work!

RoseCentury: But a lot of women go through that Rose, you most certainly aren't the only, first or last person to do that during birth! I'm glad everything's going good and I bet you are! Seeing your toes after how many months!? I believe it! How's hubby handling the four kids? I know its early, but have you noticed any special trait that sets the babies apart from one another? Like is one more quiet, another always hungry, one just loves to snuggle, and so forth?

MysticBoywastaken: Does this chapter count? Does this make up for me not throw young Frisk against a monstrous creature because I, like Angel, do have a heart somewhere under all my calloused skin and don't want to hurt her too badly? And what your asking is very true! Is either of the sisters going to survive since there's no reset magic? Oh boy… You'll just have to find out next time!

Alright everyone! Another end has come! And its insane since we have ONLY FOUR CHAPTERS LEFT! I can't believe how closer we are to the end and how long you all have supported us! Thank you so much! And please send in any story ideas that you can soon! Not much more time before our special side story comes out! Actually… it might be time to reveal its name to you soon…

Well? Does anyone want to know what it is? Or wait for the surprise when I post the final chapter?

Love you all and see you next week!
