Chapter 14: The Final Stand
Pan was crying uncontrollably, clearly in a lot of pain, both emotionally and physically, and Vegeta was becoming more and more sure of something that he didn't understand before.
"Let go of me, let go of me!" She was shouting, trying break out of Vegeta's grip.
"Don't be silly, there's nothing you can do," Vegeta said, struggling to keep her still.
"I don't care, it's Noca! I want to help him, I love him! I can't let this happen," Pan was yelling, completely past the point of listening.
Vegeta wasn't equipped for dealing with the emotional side of the situation but there was one part he could sort out. He could sense a rise in Pan's energy, something was coming to the surface, and even Goku could sense it, but Vegeta made sure to put an end to it. He unleashed a strong chop to the back of her neck, knocking her unconscious. He lay her down gently.
"What did you do that for?" Piccolo asked.
"We all know what happens to a Saiyan in a moment of great emotional trauma. It's best we don't let it happen," Vegeta said, everyone immediately knowing what he was referring to. Goku looked away, towards Wun.
The whole scene had been going south for a long time, but now it was shifting a lot. Wun was standing there in the centre of it all, doing nothing, but the crowds were doing their best to run out, get away, and flee the scene. Goku noticed all the madness and his mind kicked into gear.
"Goten!" Goku called out, turning to his son. "We need to sort things out, so you and Trunks go and get the radar and collect the Dragon Balls," Goku ordered.
"On it, dad," Goten said, turning and running to find Trunks to tell him the plan. Goku then noticed Uub nearby, wondering what to do.
"Uub. You and Buu should help guide the civilians to safety and keep them calm," Goku instructed. "Buu's influence and friendship with Mr Satan should help you."
Uub nodded and flew off. Goku then noticed that Krillin and other friends and allies were headed their way.
"Krillin! You need to guide our friends and family back to the hotel. Get them all to safety," Goku said, motioning to Videl and Pan as well. Krillin rushed forward and lifted Pan up gently
"C'mon everyone!" Krillin yelled, rushing off with their group in tow.
"Piccolo," Goku said, turning to the Namekian. "Go get Gohan out of the hospital wing."
"What will you do?" Piccolo asked. Goku looked to Vegeta. The two Saiyans nodded to one another.
"We'll do our best to put a stop to all of this," Goku confirmed, nodding to the Namekian.
"Good luck," Piccolo said, turning to nod at Vegeta, and then he rushed off.
"You and me, Vegeta," Goku said turning to face Wun, standing isolated in the centre of the damaged stadium.
"Let's just get this over and done with!" Vegeta yelled.
They both flashed Super Saiyan and that drew Wun's complete attention. His mission was complete, but now he had a few more targets to deal with.
It wasn't over yet and more devastation was sure to ensue. Wun was well prepared to take on the two Super Saiyans standing before him, and he certainly had no qualms about going all out and showing them the power he had at his disposal. Vegeta had already seen it, so the Saiyan Prince knew to be wary of what may happen. The only difference this time, Wun would surely be fighting to kill. The two Saiyan men stood together ahead of Wun, and both were focussed and ready to fight their hardest.
They raised their power levels, remaining equal with one another, and being careful not to lay all their cards on the table right away. Vegeta looked to Goku out of the corner of his eye, knowing that they both still had lots of energy to reveal if necessary, but for the moment, they knew they were utilising more power than Noca had as a Super Saiyan, and they had to hope it would be enough to stop Wun.
They charged at the same time, flying forward, but Wun leaped into the air away from them, but both Saiyans turned to face up and phased from view. Wun looked down, realising they had disappeared.
Goku flashed in front of the brute and attempted a punch that was easily blocked, but at the same time, Vegeta shot in from Wun's right and landed a kick to the side of Wun's head. They both phased away again and shot in from a side each, aiming punches for Wun. The large man threw his arms up, blocking the punches and defending his head from any impact, but they phased away again and then Wun was struck in the back by a two-footed kick from Goku that thrust him forward and as he turned around, he was met by a punch from Vegeta.
The punch had knocked Wun through the air where he was met by another fist, that time it was Goku and threw Wun in the opposite direction. Vegeta was prepared to strike back again but Wun recovered and quickly slammed his fists down towards Vegeta, but the Saiyan Prince managed to throw his hands up and catch the attempt. Wun found himself in a predicament because he had used two hands and that meant he was practically open for another attack.
That's exactly what happened as Goku dropped down and smashed his feet into Wun's back again, knocking him down towards the ground as Vegeta backed away to avoid any of the effects. Wun crashed into the ground and the Saiyan Prince powered up a Galick Gun and fired it down, hitting the target and thrusting Wun more and more into the ground.
A large crater was forming as Vegeta did that and he continue to push his power through the attack. Vegeta was hoping this attack would be enough to force Wun to stay down, but he could feel pressure from the other side and knew Wun was pushing back. The Prince groaned and glanced to Goku.
"Kakarot, you better be ready to attack!" Vegeta yelled. Goku looked to Vegeta and down towards the ground. Because he couldn't sense anything from Wun he didn't notice that Vegeta didn't have control of his own attack.
The Prince had to dodge to the side and let his own attack sail back into the sky. Goku looked down to see Wun standing with his arms up and knew he needed to move quickly. He phased down towards Wun and threw rapid punches at the opponent, but Wun managed to block most of them with ease, and any that hit didn't seem to do a lot.
Meanwhile, up in the air, Vegeta was feeling a little annoyed about having his attack overpowered. He wasn't happy that Wun had made a fool of him in his fight a few days prior, and he wasn't happy that the brute was still standing. Something had to be done. Vegeta powered up some more, his aura flaring and the sparks crackling as he pushed to Super Saiyan 2.
He flashed down to the ground and flew towards Wun to help with the onslaught of punches. Wun had not been prepared for Vegeta to force his way in and had to do something to stop things. He let out a strong pulse of energy that pushed both Goku and Vegeta back slightly, and it gave him some new openings. He turned to Vegeta and smashed a punch into his gut, pulled back, and then punched him in the face, launching him away, and then he swung around and kicked Goku in the side of the face, throwing him along the ground into a wall.
Vegeta managed to halt himself and watched Goku crash into the wall. Wun turned and looked up to the Prince again and phased towards him, appearing in front of Vegeta, he grabbed onto the Saiyan's head with both hands and slammed him down into his knee. The Prince was almost flung away again but Wun grabbed his leg and pulled him down, smashing another punch into Vegeta's gut. Vegeta coughed up saliva as the attack went in and Wun pulled his hand back, ready to unleash a Ki blast.
At that precise moment, Goku used his instant transmission and appeared, managing to pull Wun's arm away as his Ki blast shot through one of the, now empty, stadium stands, causing it to collapse. Vegeta noticed that Wun had been stopped and he moved forward punching Wun in the face and managing to get his leg free, then Goku, still holding Wun's arm, swung him away and both Saiyans shot a Ki blast at the same time that sent Wun crashing through a stand.
It was in that moment the two Saiyans took a moment to think.
"Maybe we need to think of a real plan," Goku suggested.
"Maybe you can bust out Super Saiyan 3 and end it now," Vegeta snapped back. Goku scoffed.
"That still uses a lot of energy," Goku replied.
"Useless transformation," Vegeta huffed.
As Wun burst out of the stand both Goku and Vegeta phased forward again, appearing behind Wun, and at the same time, they unleashed a powerful Ki blast each. Both attacks crashed into Wun and exploded around him, firing Wun away in the opposite direction, more towards the centre of the stage.
They watched as he easily recovered and continued flying towards them. He very quickly managed to grab them both around their throats and wasn't hesitating to tighten his grip. The two Saiyans managed to glance at each other and then both started trying to move.
Vegeta managed to swing his leg into Wun's gut, causing his grip to loosen, and then Goku did the same thing which had a similar effect. Then they both swung kicks in at the same time, managing to push Wun away. The Saiyans pushed up, with the intention of creating enough distance to plan some more, but nothing seemed to put him down.
In the middle of the city, Krillin was doing his best to lead everyone to safety, through the crowds of panicking people that were trying to flee the stadium. It was all frantic, and no one really knew what was happening, but that group at least had experience in crises and knew to keep calm and focussed on where they needed to go.
The group was a little split, with the Ki users trying to stay on specific sides so that everyone was at least protected. Krillin was at the front, leading, and he was still having to carry Pan, while #18 was towards the back.
"Keep going, guys!" Krillin called back, "We're nearly back at the hotel."
As they rounded the corner, spying the hotel at the end of the street they all felt a little calmer, but they knew it wasn't the time to stop and celebrate. As they rushed along the street, they could still hear what was going on at the stadium, the shockwaves and the explosions. Everyone found it hard to just run away while such terror was happening, but they knew it was necessary.
"Everyone! Get inside!" Krillin yelled. Everyone rushed through, getting through the doors and then Krillin was the last inside. He set Pan down on one of the sofas and he slumped into a chair himself.
"Why does shit like this always have to happen when we go to a tournament!" Bulma complained, pacing back and forth. Bra, Kiera, Holline, Chi-Chi, and Videl had all moved to Pan's side, as the girl remained unconscious.
"We should take her upstairs," Chi-Chi suggested, her hands on Videl's shoulders as the mother worried over her daughter. Even Bra had a tight grip on Pan's hand, saddened and worried for her friend.
Meanwhile, Holline was taking a moment to just stand and get stuck in her thoughts. Kiera noticed the girl was in need of support and moved over to the red head. She took Holline's hand in her own. Kiera didn't say anything, knowing there was nothing that she could say. Krillin looked over the group and took a breath.
"Ok, so… Bulma, Chi-Chi, Videl, Bra, Pan, #18, Marron, Valese, Erasa, Kiera, Holline, Master Roshi… uh, that's it, right?" Krillin questioned, hoping that no one had been forgotten. He had to remind himself where Goten and Trunks had gotten too, but after that he realised it was fine. He sat down again, relieved.
Chi-Chi helped Videl take Pan upstairs to her bedroom so they could lay her down in comfort. Bra, Kiera, and Holline all followed. Bulma sighed and sat down opposite Krillin.
"I wish I could do something to help…" Krillin mentioned, looking down, disappointedly. Android #18 sat down beside her husband and held his hand. The situation was very dire, and no one had been expecting such a devastating day.
Upstairs, in the room Pan had been sharing with the other girls, she had been laid down in her bed, where she appeared unsettled, even in the unconscious state. Chi-Chi paced back and forth, Bra and Videl were either side of Pan, while Holline took a seat at the end of one of the beds, still trying to process everything. Kiera stayed with her.
It only took a few moments, but suddenly, Pan shot up awake and seemed disoriented for a moment.
"What happened? Where am I?" She asked, frantically, looking around. Videl noticed something briefly in her eyes that she hadn't expected to see but it vanished quickly. She thought Pan's eyes had been a different colour, but a recognisable colour nonetheless, but no, they were the normal blue.
"Pan, just stay calm," Videl said, placing her hand on Pan's shoulder, but the teenager had already remembered everything and there were noticeable tears in her eyes. She looked around and really took in where she was, but her mind was only on one thing.
"Noca's body…" She mentioned, standing up. Videl tried to keep her down.
"It's far too dangerous to go anywhere," The mother tried to instruct her daughter. Pan glared at her.
"I don't care," she said, pulling away from Videl and rushing to the window, opening it and flying out away. No one could even move quickly enough to stop her but Videl had rushed to the window, calling for her to come back.
"I have to go after her," Videl said, about to fly off after her, but Chi-Chi rushed over and stopped her.
"No, you can't do that. Not in your condition. You're pregnant," Chi-Chi reminded her.
"But that's my daughter!" Videl snapped.
"I'll go after her," Holline said, standing up and wiping away her tears.
"Is that a good idea?" Kiera asked. Holline didn't have the answer but she felt that Pan would need to be convinced somehow, and maybe Holline was the right person to do it.
Videl wanted to protest, uncomfortable with sending another child out into that destruction, but she really wanted her daughter back, and looking at Holline's face she could tell that it meant a lot to her too. After all, Holline and Noca were best friends from a very young age.
The woman didn't say anything and Holline nodded. She moved to the window and darted off, chasing after Pan.
Back out in the city, Uub and Buu were both flying over the City, close to the stadium, trying to ensure that all civilians were getting to safety. They needed to ensure no one got left behind and stuck in the danger.
Mr Satan had managed to get to safety already and was using a PA system to make his voice heard throughout the city.
"Everybody listen: It is I, Mr Satan, please, stay inside, stay away from the stadium, and keep yourselves safe. Both Mr Buu and our friend Uub will be out there to help guide you to any safe areas if you are caught out in the city. Please, stay away!"
As Uub and Buu flew through the areas around the stadium, making sure everything was safe and quiet, the fight was still happening behind them. Uub found himself glancing back, wondering what would have happened differently had he been the one to face off in the final instead of Noca, but upon realising that it was taking both Goku and Vegeta to fight back, it was clear it was never going to be easy.
Uub did his best to keep focussed on the action as best as he could, knowing that he may be needed.
The fight inside of the stadium was getting more intense, with both Saiyan warriors struggling to maintain a consistent run of control. Wun was find it relatively easy to hold them both off at the same time, and it was almost like swatting away flies, but they just kept coming back.
Vegeta charged in from Wun's left and attempted a punch for his opponent's head, but Wun raised a hand, catching the fist, and then swung over to punch with his free right hand. But then Goku flew in from behind Wun, but the brute phased away to avoid the attack, appearing above Goku, drilling his foot down into the Saiyan's back, sending him spiralling towards the ground.
Goku managed to roll and stop his fall, but Wun had dropped down also, pounding a punch into Goku's gut, sending him down faster. Goku crashed down into the ground and Wun unleashed a barrage of Ki blasts.
Vegeta glared towards Wun and flashed towards the brute, kicking him in the side, sending him away and stopping him from firing any more Ki attacks. Wun crashed through one of the stands, but he immediately fired out again, flying towards Vegeta. But he was caught off-guard by Goku, who had picked himself up from the ground and flashed up back into the conflict, carrying Wun higher into the sky.
The Prince watched for a moment, but then he followed on, knowing that Goku would probably need some assistance.
It was lucky that they had decided to draw the fight higher into the sky, because down inside the stadium, rushing through the halls towards the hospital wing was Piccolo. He still hadn't got Gohan out of there, but that's because the commotion had been difficult to get through initially, now that he was well aware it was only Gohan left in there he was sure he could get him out of there.
He burst through the hospital doors and saw that Gohan was standing, wearing his Gi already, but he didn't look comfortable standing up.
"Shouldn't you be resting?" Piccolo suggested.
"Well, there was just so much noise outside," Gohan joked, but then his face turned serious. "I sensed what happened."
"Yeah. We should get you out of here, quickly," Piccolo said, moving towards Gohan and proceeded to carry him outside and flew very quickly towards the hotel.
It was lucky that Gohan was out of there, because up in the air the two Saiyans could now sense that the situation had changed for them, and they had some freedom. Vegeta wasn't sure that Goku had noticed because he was still locked in an altercation with Wun, but the Prince knew that he could take an advantage.
He moved up past the two fighting men and began to power up another of his Big Bang attacks, but Wun didn't noticed. Goku could sense it though and knew he could time it perfectly. He finished a barrage of punches on Wun and dodged to the side at the exact moment that Vegeta fired his attack and watched as it crashed into Wun and carried him, rapidly, towards the stadium.
He crashed right through a stand and the Big Bang showed exactly why it had that name as it exploded, causing most of that whole stand to collapse in on itself, down around Wun. Goku watched it and then looked to Vegeta as the Prince pulled up by his side.
"We have the area," Vegeta stated.
"I know, I sensed it. Gohan and Piccolo got away," Goku replied.
"This guy is just like an android," Vegeta suggested, glaring down.
"I think that's exactly what he is," Goku agreed.
"Then we don't have to worry about obliterating him," Vegeta said, turning to face Goku. "Kakarot, if you have any surprises up your sleeves now is the time to show it off!"
Goku pondered it but nothing seemed to really come to mind. Vegeta grunted and looked down again.
"If we charge up our strongest attacks and fire them at the same time, using all the power we possibly can, I'm sure we'll beat him," Goku suggested.
"And how do you suggest we find that time?" Vegeta asked. "I'm not going to be his personal punching bag while you make one of your bomb things."
"I can help, just give me time," A voice said, in both Goku's and Vegeta's heads.
"What?" Vegeta questioned.
"Piccolo, are you sure?" Goku asked.
"Keep doing what you're doing, I'll be back there," Piccolo said. Goku nodded to Vegeta, showing that was the plan they would have to go with. Vegeta huffed and looked down just as Wun decided to charge up out of the wreckage.
"Just hurry it up, Namekian!" Vegeta snapped as he powered up his aura and fired down towards the oncoming Wun. Goku powered up also, and he followed suit.
All the way over in West City, Trunks and Goten were rummaging through the cupboards and drawers in Bulma's lab.
"I thought you said you knew where it was?" Goten asked, getting frustrated.
"I did… or… I thought I did," Trunk said, equally frustrated as he threw some stuff to the floor. "I thought the girls took it and Bra said she put it back in here…"
"Well, keep looking!" Goten snapped.
"What do you think I'm doing?!" Trunks yelled, but then he heard a familiar beeping sound as he threw something to the floor. He halted and looked to Goten. They stared at each other for a second and then looked at the floor, where the radar had fallen.
"Found it," Goten stated, smirking. Trunks picked it up quickly and they rushed outside, flying away to begin their search for the Dragon Balls.
After flying in a straight line from her hotel room all the way towards the Stadium, Pan set down just outside, taking a moment to look up at the intimidating presence of the stadium as it was slowly brought down by the intense fight happening within. That wasn't the thing Pan had on her mind in that moment. She knew there wasn't much chance of her actually beating Wun, and it would only be dangerous if she got involved in the fight. She was there for something else.
Even though it was an almost unlikely task, Pan wanted to locate Noca's body, despite the damage that may have been caused, she knew it was beneficial to find him. At least so it wasn't just left in the wreckage of a big building. Even if he was to be brought back to life through the Dragon Balls, it just made sense.
Pan was about to enter the stadium, hoping that Noca would be somewhere on the ground in the staging area, but the arrival of another power level threw her off and she swiftly turned as the red headed Holline dropped down.
"Don't try and stop me," Pan protested. Holline held her hands up, trying to show she wasn't there to argue or fight.
"Pan, I want to help you," Holline said, surprising the Saiyan girl. "But maybe we should wait until the fight is over."
"I can't do that," Pan said, not easing her defensive nature. She was doing well to hold back from crying, not wanting to show that sign of weakness. She stepped towards Holline. "I need to find him."
Pan turned around and went to walk in, but Holline moved around in front of her. Pan stopped and took a deep breath, appearing to get pretty riled up.
"Get out of my way," Pan demanded.
"Be smart, this isn't a safe situation," Holline said, pleading with the girl. "Your mom is worried about you."
Pan sighed and pushed past Holline.
"You don't know me, and you don't understand," Pan said, sharply, the words cutting through Holline as she stumbled and fell down. Pan didn't pay her any attention and continued on through the stadium, picking up her pace and flying through, bursting out into the staging area, where she got a good look at the wreckage.
All three of the big screens had already been brought down during the main fight, but it was a lot worse by the time Pan got in there. The stands were collapsing, nothing appeared stable, and it wasn't a safe place to be.
Pan didn't seem to pay it much attention and carried on, but Holline had rushed in and managed to grab Pan, just about getting her out of the way as a part of the stadium collapsed. Pan looked to the wreckage that fell and then to Holline, but the red head didn't look happy.
"No, you're right, I don't know you, but I know Noca," Holline said, glaring down at Pan, but her eyes were still riddled with sadness. Pan took a moment and brought herself back to reality and she realised who she was talking to. "I think I understand just as well, if not better than you."
Pan noticed her mistake, and wanted to track back and change her words, but it had been said. She opened her mouth to say something more but couldn't find the words. It was as struggle, but luckily Holline had it.
"We both love him," the red head said, and Pan's eyes went momentarily wide, but she composed herself and nodded. "We're both confused, scared, and angry…"
"But we need to be smart," Pan finished, looking into Holline's eyes. "I'm sorry…"
Pan moved and both girls stood up, but as they did another large part of the stadium started collapse down around them and then girls had to dart back to avoid being hit, but it only ended up with them backing into a corner more, becoming trapped.
In the air above the stadium, the fight was continuing with Goku and Vegeta doing their best to fly in and attack with intensity, hoping to push Wun back and gain the opportunity to begin powering up their signature attacks. Vegeta was annoyed because he could see that Goku was still fighting as a normal Super Saiyan, while the Prince had been fighting at the Super Saiyan 2 level for a little bit.
Goku had just been knocked to the ground by a kick from Wun and then the brute turned to strike Vegeta, throwing a punch into the Prince's block. Vegeta fell back slightly but pushed forward, attempting to strike Wun in the head. Wun ducked and threw a fist into Vegeta's gut, easily. The Prince pulled away, gripping his stomach.
Wun moved fast and slammed Vegeta down, out of the air, towards the ground. The Prince crashed down beside Goku and they both jumped up, ready to carry on, but Vegeta turned to face Goku.
"Kakarot, you need to step it up," Vegeta demanded. Goku turned, an inquisitive look on his face. Vegeta scowled. "You're still just a regular Super Saiyan. Put in some damn effort!"
Vegeta turned away and flashed up towards Wun again, powering up a Ki blast that he shot towards the brute, but Wun blasted right through it, unaffected, and punched Vegeta back towards the ground.
Goku watched Vegeta land and turned as Wun started moving towards him. He needed to react quickly. He began to draw in his energy and was ready to take it up a level, or two. Wun came in close and Goku erupted with a scream, letting his aura and energy burst out as his hair began to grow. With a tremendous flash Goku had turned into a Super Saiyan 3.
Vegeta got up and glared towards Goku for a moment but knew his focus should be on Wun. Goku shot towards Wun and managed to punch him straight across the stage, through some rubble, and into the wall. The Super Saiyan 3 then charged through, following the same path, and went to punch Wun again, but the brute moved quickly and blocked Goku's fist.
Goku was shocked, but he didn't waste a moment. He darted back and began powering up a Kamehameha. Wun charged and Goku managed to focus quickly enough to use instant transmission. He moved up into the air and was about to fire the Kamehameha but Wun immediately turned and threw a Ki blast that knocked Goku's concentration.
Vegeta wasn't sure what to make of it. There had been times in his fight with Wun where it looked like Vegeta had a strong advantage. There were times when Gohan had an advantage. There were even times when Noca had an advantage. But this was strange. Wun wasn't just learning how to fight them, he was actively getting stronger with every moment.
"Like an Android…" Vegeta muttered to himself. He looked forward as Wun charged for Goku, and he had to hope that he could pull something off. Vegeta flashed towards Wun, hoping he would remain distracted by Goku.
As Wun went to throw a fist at Goku, Vegeta caught one of his arms and then when the brute went to attack with his other arm Vegeta caught that too.
"Do something, Kakarot!" Vegeta yelled, struggling to keep Wun's arms in place. Goku wasn't sure what Vegeta was trying but he had to do something. He unleashed his own powerful punch into Wun's gut, but the brute barely reacted. "Try again!"
Goku reeled back, powering up, and yelled out as he thundered another punch into the opponent's gut. Wun arched a little but it wasn't out of pain, it was from the sheer force. Vegeta continued to struggle to hold him back. He jumped up and planted his feet in Wun's back and pulled on his arms, while pushing with his feet. Similar to how he had dispatched of Android #19 in the past, just on the opposite side.
Vegeta groaned and powered up as much as he could as he continued to pull and push. Goku backed up and began powering up another Kamehameha, he knew Vegeta wouldn't be dumb enough to stay in the way of his attack, and perhaps this plan could work.
Wun was certainly in a predicament that he couldn't get out of that easily. The position he was in wasn't great. Vegeta's grip was strong, and he continued to push and pull with a tremendous effort. Wun's back was arched and his arms almost completely straight back. He had no way to defend against Goku's attack.
"Hurry up, Kakarot!" Vegeta yelled, clearly showing signs of struggle in his voice. Wun noticed this. He tensed his arms and started trying to pull back more, hoping that Vegeta would weaken. Goku was trying to ensure he was successful with his attack and continued to prepare it.
Wun was beginning to realise that he wasn't going to manage it by pulling his arms away, so he slowly weakened, and Vegeta noticed this, thinking it was a sign of him winning, but it wasn't to be. Wun simply dropped back, knowing all the momentum would be against Vegeta, and he fell on the Saiyan Prince, but very quickly hopped up to his feet.
"No…" Goku muttered, and he yelled as he threw his hands forward, trying to fire his attack, but Wun jumped up out of the way and launched himself towards Goku. Punching the Saiyan in the face, cancelling out the attack. Goku was knocked back against the wall and Wun proceed to charge towards him, but Goku quickly used instant transmission, teleported to Vegeta and then teleported up into the air, carrying the Prince to safety.
"Damn it," Vegeta said, as he pulled himself away from Goku. "You should have fired it earlier!"
"I'm sorry, I didn't think it would be strong enough," Goku mentioned, but he looked down at his hands and dropped down to a normal Super Saiyan, which Vegeta had fallen to as well. "I don't think I can find the power to do that again."
"Yeah, me neither," Vegeta huffed.
"Then you might need a hand," a deep voice said from behind them. They turned to see Piccolo had returned, and beside him was Uub.
"Great!" Goku exclaimed.
"What's great? We're stronger than them and we couldn't take him," Vegeta yelled.
"But we can help hold him off," Uub said, folding his arms.
"Yeah, Vegeta. Don't write them off," Goku agreed. He looked to Piccolo and Uub, his expression turned serious. "You guys do your best, we'll be prepared, don't worry."
Piccolo nodded, threw off his turban and cape, then charged down. Uub followed suit.
"You have faith in them?" Vegeta asked.
"You remember who Uub is, right?" Goku questioned. Vegeta scoffed. "And Piccolo has never let me down."
"Fine. Let's do this," Vegeta said as he threw his arms out wide and began powering his ultimate attack. His body began to glow more intensely than before, the golden light shining strong. Goku pulled his hands down to his right side and charged up his signature Kamehameha. They had to hope the combined attack would work.
Wun stood and watched as Piccolo and Uub dropped in front of him. He didn't seem to pay them much attention, or really react in any way. They were just two new challengers, two new people for him to beat. He stepped forward and charged towards them at a thundering pace. Piccolo wasn't prepared as Wun hovered in front of him and then smashed a fist into the Namekian's face.
Piccolo was knocked back, rapidly flying into a wall, but Uub acted quickly and charged, leaping up and falling towards Wun, punching him in the face. He dropped to the ground and turned back to Wun, throwing a Ki blast up into his face, and then he charged again, plunging a punch into his gut. Wun bent down and grabbed Uub by the sides and he lifted him up, slamming him down into the ground head-first.
Piccolo had forced himself back into the fight, flying right towards Wun and slamming a kick into his face, and then Uub leapt back to his feet and fired a Ki blast into Wun's gut, but all the attacks did was hinder Wun a little bit. Nothing was causing him too much damage and Wun did seem totally unfazed by all of it.
He reached towards Uub but then Piccolo used his stretchy arm to grab Wun's wrist to stop him, but then Wun just pulled Piccolo over, aiming him towards Uub. The young fighter leapt up, avoiding connection with Piccolo but the Namekian was launched into some rubble and Wun jumped up to follow Uub.
Wun rose up above Uub and managed to hammer his fists down to send Uub back to the ground. Uub landed, on his hands and feet, but Wun was already falling down again. He was aiming for a foot into Uub's head, but the young man charged back to avoid any connected. Wun managed to adjust his movement quickly and follow Uub, getting close and grabbing him around the throat, slamming him down into the ground.
He started powering up a Ki blast and went to throw it down into Uub's face, but Piccolo flew along and grabbed Wun's arm, holding him back. Uub managed to get lose and powered out his aura to knock Wun back and then charged up, crashing a knee into Wun's face and then he dropped back and charged forward with a barrage of punches to his gut.
Wun was about to use his other hand to attack but Piccolo noticed and utilised his stretchy arm again to grab it and pull him back. Both of Wun's arms were locked by Piccolo and Uub was unleashing his barrage. The Namekian looked to the air to try and gauge how Goku and Vegeta were getting on.
They were drawing in power, but it really wasn't enough. Piccolo could tell. They needed to keep powering up and it meant trying to hold Wun off longer. Wun clearly wasn't affected too much by Uub's attempts and he was putting a lot of pressure on Piccolo's arms.
Wun yelled and pulled his arms forward, drawing Piccolo closer to him, and he managed to punch Uub into the ground and turn around to punch Piccolo in the gut and force him into the ground. Wun looked down on the injured Piccolo, and then over to Uub, who was struggling to return to his feet, but did so anyway.
Uub definitely wasn't about to give up. He still had a point to prove. He powered up as much as he could and charged towards Wun again. Wun simply grabbed Uub around the head and lifted him up, keeping his grip tight. He took his free arm and launched a punch into the young man's body, sending him flying through some rubble again.
Wun took a moment and turned to look into the sky again, noticing the light from the powering Ki attacks. He could tell that Goku and Vegeta were preparing to attack him. He moved to fly up to them, but Piccolo leapt up and used both arms to stretch out and grab Wun by his right arm and right leg.
Piccolo felt himself pulled along a little bit, but he dug his heels in and held strong. Wun turned around, focussing down on Piccolo and went to fire a Ki blast but something gripped his left arm and left leg, pulling him the other way, and leaving him open. Uub slowly sat up and noticing the arrival of a new, pink ally. It was Buu. He had seen what Piccolo was doing and offered assistance. He may seem stupid on the surface, but he still knew how to deal with danger.
Goku chuckled to himself upon seeing Mr Buu, and then he turned to face Vegeta.
"Ready?" He asked. Vegeta huffed and nodded.
"Let's do it."
Wun was being held open like a target. Buu pulling him to one side and Piccolo to the other. Wun definitely had the strength to break free, given time, but Goku and Vegeta had to make sure he wasn't allowed any of that time.
"Kame-Hame!" Goku started.
"Final Flash!" Vegeta yelled.
"HAAA!" both Saiyans screamed as they threw their hands forward, firing their signature Ki blasts, which swirled towards and blazed towards Wun in spectacular fashion. They almost worked like a drill, piercing right through Wun's torso, setting off some chain reaction which utterly obliterated the fighter, proving that he had in fact been an android as he shattered, sending out a powerful shockwave that rattled the entire remnants of that stadium, and knocked Piccolo, Buu, and Uub away.
The energy dissipated and both Goku and Vegeta dropped their arms and returned to their base level. They glanced at each other. Goku smirked. Vegeta grunted. They both returned to the ground and gently set down, falling to their backsides.
"That was something…" Goku mentioned, but Vegeta didn't have it in him for small talk. He simply looked dead ahead, thinking on one thing.
Uub got back to his feet and rushed to find Buu, wondering how the pink warrior was doing. Piccolo returned to his feet and created himself a new turban and cape, repairing his Gi at the same time, and then his ears perked up at the sound of two female voices. He sensed one of them immediately, recognising them and he moved some rubble and debris out of the way to reveal Pan and Holline, sitting, huddled in a corner.
"What are you doing here?" Piccolo asked, genuinely worried. Pan jumped up and helped Holline to her feet, and they moved out of the hole Piccolo had created.
"We came to find Noca's body, but we got stuck," Pan answered.
"That was incredibly foolish of you," Piccolo lectured. Pan huffed and glared over to grandfather, who seemed to be sitting, relaxed on the ground. Pan and Holline climbed down from the rubble and looked around.
Vegeta glanced towards them and his eyes briefly met Pan's, but she looked away, continuing to glare at Goku. Vegeta understood, he simply stood up and wandered away a little.
Goku looked up as Pan moved in front of him and his smile faded when he noticed the look on her face. He opened his mouth to speak but Pan wasn't about to let him justify himself.
"This is all your fault," She said, bluntly. Goku stood up.
"It's ok, Pan. We have the Dragon Balls," Goku said.
"Don't you dare!" Pan yelled. "Noca didn't have to die!"
Goku was taken back by the way Pan shouted at him. It wasn't just a teenager upset with something that had happened. This was a distraught human being who had lost something that mattered to them. This was the voice of someone who had their heart ripped from them.
"Yeah, we have Dragon Balls. Cool. But he didn't need to experience his death," Pan continued, trying to keep a lid on her anger and calm down. She could tell that the situation was still upsetting for Holline, who didn't understand the talk of the Dragon Balls.
"She's right, Kakarot," Vegeta said, returning to the conversation. Goku looked up, brow furrowed. "He's just a kid, and you sent him into a fight he couldn't win."
"But I thought he could win," Goku said, looking at Vegeta, but he looked down to Pan. "And I knew we could wish him back if things went poorly."
Pan was breathing heavily, practically seething with anger, but she had to admit the thought of Noca being able to come back was at least something positive. She turned to Holline and took the girl's hand, leading her away so she could explain the Dragon Balls.
"You misjudged the situation, Goku," Piccolo said, walking over with his arms folded. "The kid wasn't ready."
Goku looked to Vegeta, but the Prince had his back turned to them.
"Let's just wait for Goten and Trunks to return with the Dragon Balls and we'll deal with it," Goku said. Vegeta started walking away.
"Where are you going?" Piccolo asked.
"To find his body," Vegeta said, taking off and flying away.
Goku watched Vegeta leave, an inquisitive look on his face, and Piccolo noticed it. The two shared a brief look, neither of them understanding Vegeta's connection to it all. They hadn't seen him act so, for lack of a better word, protective like that before.
It was odd, but then again, it had been an odd day.
Somewhere, far away, in an office, a man sat behind a desk. He had his hands clasped together and a computer screen shining in front of him. Another man walked up beside him and glanced at the screen.
"Another failure?" The standing man asked. The sitting man scoffed. The first man had a younger sounding voice, while the sitting man clearly sounded older.
"Yes, and no. He was destroyed, but the boy was killed," The older man replied, an amused tone in his voice.
"So that's it? It's done?" The younger man questioned. There was another scoff from the older man.
"No. With the Dragon Balls he'll be back in no time, but we got what we needed, for now…" The older man stated, leaning back in his chair slightly. "I learned a lot, and it will definitely help our experiments going forward."
"Good," The younger man said, standing up straight. "What is the next step?"
"All in good time, my friend."
