Jake just stood there for a minute, taking in the news before turning to me. "I have to… Leah? Can you make sure she gets back to my house okay, she wanted to go to the grocery store? Keep an eye on her?" His eyes were still on me.

"Yeah, I can do that."

Jake kissed me, forgetting our surroundings or just not caring about how much it pained Edward to see. "I have to be there for them."

"I get it Jake. Go talk to your brothers. I'll be fine. I'll make sure there's food for everyone when you get back." He kissed me once more and ran off to the woods. "So, you all okay with Leah and Seth escorting me to the grocery store? I was kind of hoping for the help and while I feel I won't get kidnapped by you guys, I still don't feel completely comfortable just yet."

It was Esme who spoke next, "Bella, of course. We will run our side of the border for any signs of Victoria, enjoy your day with your new friends." The Cullens all took off, except Edward who stared at me with sad eyes for a moment.

"I never wanted you in harm's way. That's why we left."

"I know, Edward. It's alright. We'll get Victoria and life will go on." He smiled, still a little sad, and took off toward the forest.

"Well, I guess it's time to go shopping." I said, turning around to face Leah and Seth.

"I'm not sure you understand how much we can eat." Seth replied.

"I don't think YOU understand that I was a zombie for months and before that had a rich boyfriend so I never got to spend my money that's just piling up.

We headed to the Forks grocery store and shopped, each of us with a cart. I turned down an aisle by myself, knowing Leah wasn't far behind and that I would still be safe and started packing items into the cart. Leah was picking up the heavy stuff, many cases of soda, enough to fill a cart. Seth was getting meats and condiments and here I was in the baking goods aisle. I picked up not nearly enough bags of flour since they didn't have enough stocked, sugar, vanilla and a few other smaller ingredients. I sat there for a minute looking at the items on the shelves thinking about what else I might need when a lady walked up behind me and grabbed one of the flours out of my cart.

"Excuse me, what are you doing?" I asked, surprised that this lady would reach into another person's cart like that.

"Well you're just going to be placing it on the shelf anyways so what difference does it make if I grab it now?" She started to walk away.

"What are you talking about? I'm buying that."

"Don't lie to me dear, I know you're stocking the shelves. Why does it matter to you if I take it now?" she responded. Am I on a hidden camera? Is this really happening?

"I'm not an employee here. I'm not wearing their uniform, I'm buying food for my boyfriend's house. Give it back!" I grabbed the bag of flour from the stubborn ladies cart and put it back in mine and started to walk away.

"Young lady if you do not hand me back my flour, I will call your supervisor, and get you fired!"

"Listen, if you had asked for one, I would have gladly given it because I know, I took it all, but you were rude and refuse to believe that I'm a customer. So, no!" I could not believe this was happening. I spotted Leah and Seth at the other end of the aisle laughing while I fought with this lady about not working here.

"Fine, I'm getting your supervisor." She stormed off and I went for the cash registers. As I was checking out this crazy lady comes up with a man who had MANAGER written on his name tag.

"That's her, that's the rude employee who refused to sell me flour. I demand you fire her."

This day will never end. The manager turned to her and spoke. "Ma'am, I have no idea who she is. She does not work here. She's a customer."

"Then why was she stocking shelves?"

"Lady, if you listened to me the first time, I told you I was buying food for my boyfriend's place. I wasn't stocking shelves."

"Nobody needs that much food! You're lying!"

I shook my head to clear my thoughts. "He's having a party. Leave me alone." The manager apologized and escorted the lady to his office. I paid for the many groceries and left without another incident. We finally arrived back at Jake's and I felt like I could pass out. My day seemed so long already and it was only 2 in the afternoon.

Seth and Leah helped me bring in all the groceries and I organized it all. Most of the meat went in the deep freezer and the cupboards were filled with the dry ingredients. I made chocolate chip cookies, banana bread and chocolate sheet cake with Italian meringue buttercream. I cut it into 1.5 inch squares and added a small frosting flower to the top of each square and stabbed a piece of After Eight bar inside it. After that was done, I got started on making dinner. Charlie and Billy still weren't back so I definitely couldn't do fish. Instead I decided to make burgers. I got Leah to help with chopping veggies for a coleslaw and I made the patties while Seth loaded the oven with frozen fries.

When I phased, everything was jumbled, voices were coming from every direction and in the middle of it all was Quil, hysterical, thinking he'd gone crazy hearing voices. Unsure why he was in the woods, why he was on all fours, why any of this was happening. To be able to get him to calm down, I needed… "QUIET!" my Alpha voice rang out through the minds of the pack members, and possibly Edward Cullen's if he was close enough. Everyone silenced, including Quil. I ran to him, recognizing the stream he was near. "Quil, It's Jake. I need you to listen. You aren't crazy. Those stores our parents would tell us? They're all real. The cold ones and the werewolves. We descended from those wolf bloodlines and are here to protect our land from vampires. The Cullen's, though they aren't the real threat. There is a red head who is after Bella. This… this is where we all disappeared to and were sworn to secrecy by the council. I swear I would have told you if I could. You can talk now." I gave my new packmate permission to talk, everyone else stayed quiet.

"I'm a werewolf?" Quil asked, finally calm enough to relax a little. He stopped moving and I was able to catch up to him quickly. I stood in front of him and nodded my head. "Jake? Is that you?"

"Yes. And Sam is the Black one." I said, as Sam came into view beside me… "Embry," I motioned toward the other side of me. " Jared," I tilted my nose up, pointing beside Quil. "And Paul." I gestured toward the other side of Quil.

"Jake," Embry started, and when I looked to him he knew he had permission to talk. "Can I head out? I was supposed to be done at like 6 and I'm getting pretty hungry."

"Me too, man." Paul said, whimpering.

"Just a few more minutes. Something I need to discuss." All eyes were on me, but I didn't know how to do this. Head first, I guess. "Alice Cullen was around about 17 years ago and overheard her daughters husband, a Quileute man talking with another member of the tribe. She overheard who fathered Embry."

"What?" Embry was pacing now, "Do I even want to know? It won't change anything Jake."

"I know, but I think you should know, you have a brother amongst us, don't you want to know which one?"

"You're all my brothers. Blood be damned!"

"And we all still will be once you know. Embry, your brother is…"

"Wait! I just... I don't want to know. I mean I do but… Jake, this could change so much."

"It won't. I promise. Can I?" Embry nodded. "It's Quil. Your brother is Quil." The two wolves stares at each other.

"I have a brother…" Embry said, and I could hear the relief in his voice at finally knowing the truth.

"Paul, go get some food and sleep. Embry, you should as well. We can discuss this more after you're rested. Go raid Sam's fridge. I'm sure the food in there won't last long if nobody touches is. Bella's gone to get groceries for my place. Quil, how are you doing with all of this?"

"With finding out I have a brother or the entire wolf and vampire thing?" Paul left, he was practically dead on his feet after taking over for Leah the day before.

"Either, or both, I suppose." I chuckled a little which came out as a quiet bark.

"Uh, well, if it had to choose a brother between you and Embry, I definitely got the good end of the deal here." Quil joked. It surprised me because every single one of us was so messed up those first few days after phasing for the first time, but Quil seemed calm, at peace even. I heard Embry laugh before phasing out.

"Dick!" I laughed, this time the bark that came out was loud and scared away nearby animals. "So you're good?"

"Hell yeah! I'm a real werewolf and I get you guys back! Shit's been lonely, Jake. You really couldn't tell me?"

"Sorry man, it wasn't your time. And you can't tell anyone outside of a select few people. Your mom and Old Quil have been expecting it though."

"Well that explains the weird looks they've been giving me. I thought it was pity because all my friends left me high and dry." Quil pawed at the stream beside him. "So who all is in the pack? Just us?"

" Leah and Seth as well." I said, his eyes glanced at Sam when I said Leah. "It's ok. Short story, Emily is psychotic, did magic to force Sam's love. We broke the spell. The stories about imprinting are real and him and Leah imprinted on each other."

"Oh, anyone else imprint?" Quil asked, taking everything in with ease.

"Jared imprinted on Kim." Jared flashed through the memory of imprinting on Kim then took off to patrol, Sam right behind him.

"That explains a lot. He wouldn't even look at her before." We heard a bark in the distance. Jared always felt guilty that it took him phasing to give her the time of day. They really were perfect for each other.

"And I imprinted on Bella."

"Lucky bastard."

"Hey!" I scolded as he thought about Bella's ass.

"Sorry, not intentional."

"I get it. Hard to control the thoughts sometimes but when it comes to an imprint, tread lightly." I warned.

"Noted. So how does this work?"

I spent the next hour talking about everything we could do, the signs of impending phase so he didn't hurt anyone, the Cullens and the meeting we just had as well as everything that had happened since Sam phased for the first time. I showed him the treaty line and explained that while in wolf form, in these woods, we do not cross the line. As a human, going into Forks was fine but we couldn't hunt on those lands while the Cullen's we're staying in Forks to prevent accidental dismemberment, which made Quil laugh. When everything was said and done, I explained to Quil how to phase back. I, along with the others were shocked but he did it on his first try. Being a wolf wasn't a curse to him. It wasn't a burden he had to carry. He was at peace and that allowed him the mindset to phase back easily.

"Shit!" Quil said, his hands reaching down to cover his dick.

"Oh yeah, whatever you were wearing is likely toast. You're also going to need to stash clothes somewhere or keep clothes tied in a bag to your ankle. Tie loosely so when you phase, it fits without ripping and not too loose or it falls off."

"How'd you get shorts so fast?" I had to laugh at his question, of all the things he could ask.

"I had it on my ankle, and practice. Come on. Get dressed and meet me at the house." I walked away knowing he wouldn't get lost, we could see my house from where we stood.
