Part I

A Dark Premonition, Closely Guarded Secrets, and an Ominous Figure

Finally, it's summer vacation!" Kagura thought happily as she left the classroom after finishing her exams. The exams went well thanks to Satan's tutoring. She winced when that thought came to her mind. Satan had sacrificed his own study time to tutor her. She shouldn't even have these thoughts but she knew that if it wasn't for Satan, she would not have done well on the exams. As she was lost in her thoughts, someone called her name. She turned and saw that it was Satan.

"Hi Satan, did you finish early as well?"

"Yes, so did Lucifer. The others are finishing up."

"I see. Where is Lucifer? Did he go home?"

"No, he went to meet up with Lord Diavolo for student council duties."

"What about you?"

Satan shook his head. "I don't have any student council duties today so I'm going home. Let's go home together."

"Okay."

On the way back to the House of Lamentation, Satan asked Kagura how she did on her exams. Kagura said that they went well and that she was happy that summer vacation has finally come. Now that exams were finished and everyone at RAD is on vacation, it was time to make plans, Kagura thought. A memory of her home in London and her favorite coffee house came to mind followed by her family's ocean villa in Cornwall…Just as she was thinking about this, the dream she had came again. London, her favorite coffee house, a blackout, Cornwall, and a train followed by darkness. Kagura remembered that dream, it had made her feel on edge. She had the dream before exams. It had felt wrong for lack of a better word. Kagura was in London drinking coffee at her favorite coffee house when there was a sudden blackout. Before she could process the blackout, the scene had suddenly switched to the rocky grasslands of Cornwall where her family's ocean villa was. Later, it switched to a train she was on. While on it, the train had screeched to a halt. She sensed danger, lots of it, then darkness…That was when she woke up, sweat streaming down her back. After the dream, she had felt that she must return to the human world and figure out the meaning behind it but could not find the time to go because her exams had started. Now with exams over, what better way to figure out the meaning behind it then to go there for summer vacation? With that idea confirmed, she turned to Satan, "Satan, do you know if Lord Diavolo would allow me to return to the human world for summer vacation?"

"You're going back?" Satan asked, startled. He also looked sad.

Kagura remembered that look. It was the same one he had when he first said his goodbye to her. She quickly added, "Not permanently. It's just for summer vacation. I miss my home and family and there are personal things that I need to take care of. Don't let Mammon and the others know, you know what will happen if they did. You, Lucifer, Lord Diavolo, and Barbatos will be the only ones to know."

Satan nodded with a wince. "You don't have to tell me. I know what would happen if Mammon and the others know. I'm also relieved to hear that it's only for summer vacation. I'm sure Lord Diavolo can allow you to return but you need to set up an appointment with him to ask for permission. He, Lucifer and Barbatos are the only ones allowed to open the portal between this world and yours but that can come later. For now, there's a student council meeting coming up and Lord Diavolo requests your attendance."

"Oh? When is it?"

"In three days. The results of our exams will also be ready by then."

Kagura stared at Satan, "How do you know that the exam results will be in?"

Satan shrugged, "I am one of the Student Council members so of course I know. Plus, I have my contacts."

Kagura shook her head, "You and your mysterious contacts not to mention your mysterious acquaintances. Okay, I'll be there."

Satan gave her a wink as they continued to make their way back to the House of Lamentation. After a short silence, Kagura asked Satan what his plans were. He replied that he would catch up on his reading as always. After some more chatting between them, Kagura and Satan arrived home.

Three days later, Lord Diavolo summoned everyone to RAD for the Student Council Meeting. When Kagura and the demon brothers arrived, Lord Diavolo started it.

"Everyone here, I take it?"

Lucifer nodded.

"Before we get down to business, I want to talk briefly about your exams."

As he said that, Kagura saw that Lord Diavolo was looking at her. "Kagura, despite being an exchange student, you've challenged yourself to meet the same high standards as a normal RAD student."

Kagura blinked in surprise at his compliment. Continuing, "Regarding your exam results, I'm pleased to say you did very well. You obviously worked hard, and you should be proud of yourself. To be perfectly honest, I never expected that you, an exchange student, would be able to do so well."

Kagura raised an eyebrow when she heard that. "Lord Diavolo, I don't know whether this is an underestimation of my abilities or what but I understand where this is going so I'm not insulted."

Lord Diavolo coughed in embarrassment, "I apologize. I didn't mean it that way. What I meant was your great performance was surprising and unexpected for demon standards. You not only surprised me but also surprised everyone here at RAD. I am proud of you and proud that we chose you to represent humankind in our exchange program."

"Thank you Lord Diavolo. I'm happy to be here."

"I also want to give you my congratulations Kagura." That was Barbatos. He continued, "Everyone at RAD is talking about you and how you've proven yourself to be every bit as good as Lord Diavolo thought you were. You've done a truly excellent job."

Now it was Kagura's turn to be embarrassed. "Thank you, Barbatos but I wouldn't have been able to do it without everyone's help and encouragement."

Barbatos smiled and shook his head. "You know that's not true Kagura. Even without everyone's help and encouragement, you would still be able to make us proud. Your hard work, dedication, and determination are proof of that."

"He's right you know. You're a hard worker, very dedicated and determined, not one to give up no matter how difficult it gets. I have seen that in you. Everyone is proud of you including me." Continuing on, "I also want to extend my congratulations. I'm pleased to hear you did so well. I had faith in you, that if you put your mind to it, you could do this. And you did. In fact, I'd say a few of my brothers could learn a thing or two from you."

Hearing such praise from Lucifer was a rarity. It made Kagura really happy. Now she was determined more than ever to give her all and her best at RAD.

"Thank you Lucifer, Lord Diavolo, and Barbatos. Now I am even more determined to do my best at RAD."

Diavolo laughed and said, "I'm sure you will."

"All right! Now that exams are over and we're on summer vacation, it's time to party!" Mammon shouted excitedly.

"Don't get too excited Mammon. There is still summer homework," warned Lucifer.

"Yes sir," Mammon replied meekly.

"Wait, you're not coming with us?" Levi asked.

"No, I've got some student council business to take care of so I won't be coming," Lucifer replied.

"Okay," Levi said.

"You guys go have fun. Tell me all about it when your return. Lucifer, are you coming?" Lord Diavolo asked.

"I'll be right there," Lucifer replied.

Lord Diavolo nodded as he and Barbatos made their way to the Student Council offices.

As Kagura turned to leave, Lucifer stopped her, "A moment please."

Kagura turned back, "Yes?"

"Satan sacrificed some of his own study time to tutor you so make sure to thank him."

Kagura nodded, hesitated a moment then said, "I know and I want to thank him, but I also feel bad. He needed to study too, but instead decided to tutor me."

Lucifer looked at her then gently chided, "If he didn't, would you have passed the exams on your own?"

Kagura sighed. Lucifer was right. Without Satan's help, she would have had a difficult time passing them. She shook her head.

"Then you shouldn't feel bad. Satan decided to tutor you because he knew you needed help. I also knew," said Lucifer. He continued, "So by mutual agreement, both of us decided to have you tutored. Now you understand?"

Kagura nodded then hugged Lucifer. "Thank you."

Lucifer nodded and smiled as he hugged her back, his cheeks against the softness of Kagura's hair.

"Now go have fun with the others."

Kagura nodded, "I wish you could come as well."

Lucifer said, "I do too, just to spend more time with you, but I have too much work to do."

Kagura looked at Lucifer, "I understand but please don't overwork yourself."

Lucifer smiled, "Concerned about me? That makes me very happy. I promise I won't overwork myself. Now go have fun."

Kagura nodded then kissed Lucifer and he kissed her back. After the kiss, Kagura, with a smile and wave left. Lucifer smiled as he watched his beloved catch up to his brothers then made his way to the Student Council offices.

"Wait up everyone," Kagura said.

"There you are hon. I was hoping you would come," said Asmo.

Kagura laughed, "I wasn't going to miss this. I want to do something fun after the hectic exams."

"That's the spirit," laughed Asmo.

"So where are we going?" asked Kagura looking at Mammon.

"Where else do you think you dolt? We're going clubbin'!" Mammon said.

"We're going to a dance club? Awesome! I'm totally in!"

"Good, knew you had a partyin' soul in ya," Mammon approved.

Kagura then looked at Levi and Satan. "I'm surprised that you two are coming along."

Satan sighed, "I'm surprised as well. I would rather read then go clubbing but my brothers worked hard during our tutoring session so I decided to come as a way of saying 'thanks for your hard work.'"

Kagura looked at Satan and smiled, "That was sweet of you."

Satan blushed, "Anyways, I'm glad you came along." Continuing on, he looked at Levi, "I'm also surprised you came along."

Levi blushed, "A shut-in like me can get out of his hole once in a while. Besides, Kagura is also here. Hanging out with her would be fun."

Satan laughed, "That is at least one thing we can agree on."

"Yo, slowpokes, what's takin' you so long? We're almost at the club." Kagura, Satan, and Levi looked up when Mammon called out to them.

"We're coming!" Kagura called back.

"Satan, Levi, let's go catch up with the others."

They nodded and together with Kagura, made their way to Mammon and the others.

When they arrived at the club, Kagura was amazed at how luxurious and beautiful it looked. Beautiful antique sofas with huge glass tables drew her eye, Grecian arches and columns made from white marble created a sense of awe and majesty, the marble tiles gleaming under the crystal chandeliers gave a sense of a time long ago while the beautiful balconies overlooking the dance floor looked as if they were transported from an ancient civilization long gone…This is what a dance club in the Devildom look like?! Kagura thought with amazement.

Satan noticed the expression on Kagura's face as she gazed in awe at the club's interior and laughed, "Impressive isn't it?"

Kagura nodded, "It is impressive and very different from how I pictured it. The dance clubs in the human world have a modern look to them, but here, I feel as if I stepped into the pages of history."

Satan looked at her, "You're pretty keen for a human and right on mark. This club was modeled after an ancient civilization in the human world. For us demons who have lived for centuries, we have watched the birth and fall of countless civilizations in the human world. This club was modeled after a human civilization we demons admired, Ancient Greece. We saw how the civilization developed and grew in strength before the Romans took control of it. I think you would know why we admired the Greek civilization."

Kagura stared at Satan, "You have watched the birth and fall of all the human civilizations?!"

Satan looked at her strangely, "I told you we demons have lived for centuries so it shouldn't be that surprising. What did you think we were doing? Staying idle waiting for human souls to come to us? Though human souls are our main source of sustenance, we don't wait for them to come to us. That is a myth."

Satan shook his head and sighed, "How did we get off topic? Anyways, as I was saying, the Greek civilization was one of the civilizations we admired. We admired the strength of it and the people, like Plato and Socrates, as well as their architecture so Lord Diavolo decided to model this club after it. That's why the interior looks like this."

Kagura took a few more minutes to take in all of what Satan said then replied, "Sorry Satan, it took me a while to recover from your surprising info. Everything's okay now. To answer your question, I do know why the demons admired the Greek civilization because we humans also admired it as well as the people like Plato and Socrates. Just like you guys, we also loved their architecture. Most of the architecture and building designs in the human world were also modeled after that civilization as well as other civilizations in human history."

Satan looked at Kagura with interest, "Really? I would like to see them one day."

Kagura laughed, "Yes, really. It would be my pleasure to take you around some day where you could look your fill."

Satan smiled and nodded happily, "I'm looking forward to that day." Continuing on, "Well, I can go on about the human civilizations with you all day especially when I now know you admired them as well, but that's not why we came to the club for. We can talk more about civilizations some other time."

Kagura nodded in agreement, "Definitely some other time. For now, let's have fun. Wanna dance?"

Satan laughed, "Okay, let's go."

Kagura smiled and pulled Satan onto the dance floor. They danced for a long time until both begin to tire.

"Let's take a little break. I'm getting tired," said Satan.

Kagura nodded, "I'm tired too but I see the other brothers are still having fun and not the least bit tired except Belphie, but that's normal for him."

Satan also looked and saw that Beel was enjoying the food and paying attention to little else while Belphie had found a nice place to sleep. Asmo and Mammon were still on the dance floor but were later pulled to the indoor KTV by Levi.

Satan laughed when he saw that. "Levi is going to hog the KTV for the rest of the night."

Kagura laughed too. "Right, poor Asmo and Mammon, but I'm glad I'm not there. Singing just isn't my thing."

"Nor is it mine," Satan agreed.

After a few minutes of silence between them, a little hesitantly, Kagura said, "Satan, thank you for tutoring me but wasn't it a pain to teach me?"

Satan looked at her. "It was no big deal. There's no need to thank me. As for your question, if the human had zero promise or potential it would have been a waste of my time, but that's not the case with you. To be perfectly honest, I had fun teaching you. However, I suppose it's only right that I get proper compensation for my services."

Kagura laughed, "You really didn't need to ask that of me, I would gladly give it."

With that said, Kagura pulled Satan to her then kissed him and he kissed her back.

"Will that suffice?" Kagura asked.

"More than you know," Satan replied.

After a long night of fun, Kagura and the demon brothers finally made their way back home. Kagura was tired and so was Satan but the others not so much. She looked back at Mammon and the other brothers and shook her head, "How can they still have the energy to carry on a conversation?"

Satan sighed tiredly, "Don't ask me. Levi can go on and on about anything anime. Mammon and Asmo are the party fanatics. Beel can talk about food without stopping while Belphie can name all the best places to nap."

Kagura nodded in agreement, "You're right about that. Let's go on ahead. We'll leave them to their conversation."

Satan nodded, "Let's go."

"Okay," Kagura said.

Leaving Mammon and the others behind, Kagura and Satan soon arrived home. After saying a quick good night, they went to their rooms.

When Kagura got to her room, she remembered that she still had to get Lord Diavolo's permission to return to the human world for vacation. She'll talk to him tomorrow about it, but for now, time to sleep.

Meanwhile, Mammon, Asmo, and Levi were still talking. Neither one noticed that Kagura and Satan had already gone ahead except Belphie, but he kept silent.

"Oh man! Nothin' beats going clubbin' and doing karaoke after finishing exams!" Mammon shouted with glee.

"Yes," agreed Asmo, "but it would have been a lot more fun if Levi didn't spend the whole night singing only anime songs or if Beel and Belphie did something fun rather than eat and sleep," Asmo said with a sigh.

Asmo turned to Levi, "Levi, why is every song you picked from some anime? Don't you know anything else? Not to mention you hogged the mic most of the night!"

"Nope, and I don't want to," Levi replied. With an embarrassed cough, he continued, "Sorry about hogging the mic, but you know me, I can't stop when it comes to anime."

"Why am I not surprised?" Asmo asked. Then he turned to Beel, "As for you, you ordered too much food and you ate most of it. You didn't do anything else." Asmo shook his head in resignation, "Why did you and Belphie come along in the first place? Belphie was sleeping all night while you were stuffing your face."

Beel looked at Asmo curiously, "That's why I came, to eat. As for Belphie, he probably came to keep me company," Beel shrugged.

Asmo looked at Mammon, "Next time you want to go out, I suggest leaving Levi, Beel and Belphie behind."

"Speaking of which, where's Kagura and Satan? They came along too." Asmo said, looking around. Kagura and Satan were nowhere to be seen.

Belphie spoke, "You guys were busy talking about the fun you had that you didn't even notice them going on ahead."

Asmo looked at Belphie. "Belphie," he complained, "You should have told me sooner."

Belphie shrugged, "Why should I? It wasn't any of my business. It gets tiring hearing you and Mammon go on and on about the fun you had. I'm sure they went on ahead because they were tired. I'm tired too, so is Beel. Once he's full, he's ready for bed. I'm ready for bed too."

"Beel, let's go."

Beel nodded, "I am ready for bed." He turned to Asmo and Mammon. "See you two tomorrow."

With that said, both Beel and Belphie left. Belphie was eager for his bed while Beel was thinking about what to eat tomorrow.

"Spoil sport," sniffed Asmo.

"They don't understand the awesomeness of parties," agreed Mammon.

Kagura woke to the smell of breakfast. Her stomach growled telling her it's time to eat. With a sigh, Kagura got out of bed then washed up. It was the second day of summer vacation. She needed to talk to Lord Diavolo about her request some time today. Looking through her closet, she found her favorite silvery gray tank and put it on then slipped into her shorts and her favorite blue-gray sneakers. She then sat in front of her mirror and brushed her long, dark hair. Kagura looked at her reflection, a plain oval-shaped face with silvery gray eyes framed by thick, long lashes, a full mouth, and a stubborn chin. She wasn't an exquisite beauty like her mom but her dad had told her she had her own unique beauty. When her mind wandered to her parents, a sudden image of their faces appeared in her mind. Her breath froze; they seemed to look at something or someone with sadness and pain. What was that about? Kagura thought with a pang of unease. I must call them when I return to the human world, she thought, they must be okay. No, I'm sure they're okay. Shaking away the unease, her thoughts continued to run through her head. Would they believe that I'm living with demons again and going to the same school? They probably wouldn't. Kagura knew she should have at least told them that she was going on a trip with friends before returning to the Devildom with Solomon. They would never believe the truth. Both were very practical and believe in what they consider real.

The trip back to the Devildom was unplanned but she had already made her decision. She had missed the Devildom, RAD Academy, and everyone there, especially Lucifer and Satan. Thinking of them brought a smile to her lips. She loved them dearly. She admired Lucifer for his strength, level-headedness, and leadership, loved his gentleness. Loved him for who he was. He had always given her strength and encouragement whenever she felt down. True, they're relationship may have started out badly but the more time they spent with each other, the better the relationship became until he had fallen for her. When Lucifer told her how much he loved her on the Ferris wheel, Kagura had become speechless. When she recovered, she had admitted her own love for him as well. Memories of Lucifer went further back, to the time when they first became lovers. It was when her time at RAD had come to an end. When Lucifer was saying goodbye, he had made a pact with her then asked her to spend the remaining night with him. She had agreed. Remembering the pact, she smiled fondly, glancing at the glittering blue gem on her bracelet. More memories soon surfaced. After she returned to the Devildom, under the potion's effect, Lucifer had told her that his heart had long become hers, and how he had wanted to go the human world to find her and to bring her back. She smiled when she remembered those words. It had made her very happy to hear them. Lucifer's love was the forever kind, one that was eternal, a soul mate. A question came unbidden to her mind, could she give her heart to him just as he had given his to her? She already knew the answer, had known for a while now. Kagura could not do it because her heart already belonged to someone else. An image of messy blonde hair and piercing green eyes came to her. Satan, her beloved knight, always protecting her, loving her in his own way as much as he dared, knowing full well that he could not stay with her forever.

Kagura's smile turned sad, her mind now drifting back to the time when Satan realized he loved her. She remembered it as if it happened yesterday. It was the same year that she had made a pact with Lucifer, the year that she was to return to the human world. After Satan had come by Hell's Kitchen to pick her up after Asmo passed out from a drinking contest they had, Satan had asked her to stop by his room. That was when Kagura realized his love for her and his pain of saying goodbye. Kagura remembered everything, his pain, her pain, and could not do anything about it.

"…Then, what is it that I'm feeling? I used to feel nothing but rage, but then you came along and another sort of emotion took root inside me. The way I feel toward you…could this be…love?" Satan had looked at her, trying to wrap his mind around this new feeling in his heart. That was when she kissed him. Satan had stiffened then whispered harshly to her, "Why did you have to kiss me? You've just made it even more difficult for me to say goodbye." Kagura had gone still when he said that. There was something in his voice that made her look up. What she saw shocked her. There was anger in his eyes but behind it, there was something that looked like intense pain. Oh Satan was all she could think of.

Satan's feelings and pain were palpable as he continued to speak, "I want to take this further with you but if I did, I would never be able to say goodbye...and yet even knowing that, you'd still kiss me? You're cruel, Kagura, playing with my heart like this." He hid his pain well behind his anger and words. It had made Kagura feel worse by the minute.

"Just because you're going back to the human world doesn't mean we'll never be able to see each other again. I know that, but the mere thought that you won't be around anymore pains me so." With that said, he left for his room, after saying a quick good night to her. Kagura had watched him go, her heart feeling as if a thousand daggers were stabbing at it. She had wanted to comfort him and soothe his pain but she kept her distance because she knew that was not what Satan would have wanted. If she had done that, she would have caused him even greater pain.

Thinking back to that time, Kagura felt her own heart break. It was the most painful goodbye she had ever encountered. She had never wanted Satan to be in so much pain, but she had to go home. The Devildom was not where she belonged. Her life and his life were too different. Kagura shook her head. If she had known how much pain loving her would cost Satan, she would never have gotten close to him nor would she have allowed him to fall for her or her for him. Never mind making a pact with him. Looking at the green gem on her bracelet, Kagura sighed. She had first realized her feelings for Satan when he made a blood oath to her during their pact. She still remembered that oath, "I am Satan, Avatar of Wrath. I pledge myself to you, Kagura…that we may be bound by an unbreakable pact. This I swear to you on both my name as well as the very blood that runs through my veins." The oath had touched her deeply and had made her fall for him.

Lost in thought, Kagura didn't hear anyone come into her room until a voice called out to her, "Yo, Kagura! Time to eat! What are you doing daydreaming? Come down, the food's gonna get cold." Kagura turned, not surprised to see that it was Mammon.

"Okay, coming."

She stood up, put down her brush, and followed Mammon to the dining hall.

After breakfast, Kagura remembered that she still had a task to do, to make her request known to Lord Diavolo. While thinking about Lucifer and Satan back in her room, that task had slipped her mind. So how was she going to get a private audience with Lord Diavolo and mention her request to him? Kagura thought. She didn't want the others to know, otherwise, they would want to come along. She had mentioned it to Satan briefly but the sad look he gave her brought back her painful memories of Satan's goodbye when she had to leave for the human world so she had hastily added that it wasn't permanent, that it was just for summer vacation. Returning to the present, Kagura glanced at her D.D.D She could probably call or message Lord Diavolo and request a private audience with him but she felt that wouldn't be the proper way to do it.

"Kagura, is something wrong? You look distracted."

She looked up and saw that it was Lucifer. He looked concerned. Touched, she shook her head. "It's nothing." Suddenly, she thought of something. Maybe Lucifer can help her get a private audience with Lord Diavolo. He had often met up with him for Student Council duties so it shouldn't be a problem. The more she thought about it, the more she felt that this was the right way to go about it.

"Actually, Lucifer, there is something on my mind but can we talk privately? I don't want the others to hear," she said in a low voice.

Without blinking an eye, Lucifer nodded. "Come with me."

Kagura got up as she followed him. Lucifer led her to his room and motioned for her to come in. As she entered his room, Lucifer's scent was everywhere. Soothing and calming. He gestured to an empty seat and she sat down. He sat as well.

"We can talk privately here. What's on your mind? You've been distracted ever since you came down for breakfast."

She blinked in surprise, "You noticed?"

Lucifer sighed, "How can I not notice? Tell me."

So Kagura told him about her plan to return to the human world for summer vacation and to catch up on family and take care of some personal things. She had started to feel a small pang of homesickness as well and wanted some alone time to think about some things.

"So, in order to return home, I need to request permission from Lord Diavolo to open the portal between this world and mine, but to do that I need to talk to him."

Lucifer looked thoughtfully at her then nodded, "It just so happens that I'm going to the Demon Lord's Castle for tea. I will give you the chance to talk to Lord Diavolo then."

Kagura's eyes lit up as she leapt into Lucifer's arms, almost knocking him down as he stood. "Thank you, Lucifer."

Lucifer laughed softly as he took her into his arms and held her close. "It was my pleasure, but when you are in the human world promise me that you'll stay safe."

"I will Lucifer," she promised then kissed him.

Lucifer held her closer and kissed her back. "I will hold you to that promise," he whispered against her lips.

As Lucifer and Kagura made their way to the Demon Lord's Castle, Kagura turned to Lucifer, "I'm surprised Mammon and the others didn't kick up a fuss when you told them you're taking me along to Lord Diavolo's for tea."

Lucifer shrugged calmly, "I said that you had business with Lord Diavolo and they got my point."

Kagura laughed, "You're amazing Lucifer. If I had told them, they would have caused a ruckus."

"I know, so I told them instead," Lucifer responded simply.

It wasn't long before they arrived at the castle. "We're here Kagura. I've already told Lord Diavolo and Barbatos of our arrival." Kagura nodded. When she and Lucifer entered, Lord Diavolo and Barbatos were waiting for them in the castle's grand foyer. As she stepped inside, she looked around. The interior of the castle never seized to amaze her. There was an amazing culmination of high grade ivory and polished gold that brought out the beauty and majesty of the castle. Kagura looked toward the grand foyer, at the towering columns that rose up to the vaulted ceilings filled with glimmering chandeliers, so beautiful, looking as if they were transported from a time beyond mortal memory.

"Kagura, welcome, I must say I never expected you to come until Lucifer told me why."

She turned from her admiration of the grand foyer to look at Lord Diavolo then gave him a graceful bow. "It's very nice to see you again Lord Diavolo," she said respectfully, "I'm sorry about the unexpected visit."

Kagura was taught common courtesy since she was little, especially how to show respect to someone of higher status. Besides, she was in the castle of the Demon Prince so such courtesy was only natural. And just like before, when she had first bowed to Lord Diavolo during the Retreat, surprise had flickered in everyone's eyes as well as approval. This time was no different. Lord Diavolo was the first to recover and inclined his head respectively.

"That is all right Kagura. In truth, even if Lucifer hadn't told me why you came, seeing you again would still be a pleasure." Lord Diavolo replied with a smile, "Also, thank you for being so respectful but you are our guest and friend. There is no need for such formalities."

Barbatos had recovered too and added his own agreement, "The Young Master is right, there is no need to be so formal."

"Thank you for saying that Lord Diavolo, Barbatos, but I was taught at a very young age to respect other people, no matter who they were. I was also taught to show respect to people of higher status, like our Queen in the human world."

"If that is the case, then I shall accept your respectful gesture." Lord Diavolo smiled.

"As will I," added Barbatos.

Kagura nodded then looked at Lucifer. He didn't say anything but the look he gave her made her feel warm and happy. He was proud of her and praising her silently.

"Come then Kagura. Lucifer too," said Lord Diavolo. He turned to Barbatos, "If you would kindly bring us tea?"

"Of course, Young Master, will you take it in the study?"

Diavolo nodded. Barbatos bowed then left to make the tea.

The interior of Lord Diavolo's study was just as magnificent as Kagura had thought. She looked around in awe. Four marble columns rose proudly toward the vast ceiling where a crystal chandelier was hanging, the crystals sparkling in a rainbow of multi-colored hues. Rows upon rows of books lined the many bookshelves in the gigantic study, a book lover's paradise. There was a big mahogany desk by the multi-paneled windows that overlooked all of Devildom and behind the desk sat a huge antique chair lined with red velvet and laced in gold. Across from the desk sat three antique sofas in a half-circle, and in the midst was a beautiful round glass table that was laced with silver. To the right of the study, Kagura saw an arched doorway leading to a room with a grand piano that was just as magnificent as Lord Diavolo's study. Next to the doorway was a fireplace mantel encased in ivory and polished gold, the same color tones of the castle interior. On the wall above the mantel was a round clock with silver and gold highlights. The whole study also looked as if Kagura had stepped into another page in history.

"Do you like it?" Kagura turned and looked at Lord Diavolo.

"It is as magnificent as the castle itself Lord Diavolo," Kagura replied.

"Thank you for your compliment, Kagura," Lord Diavolo said with a smile, "Please have a seat."

Lord Diavolo went to his desk and sat. Lucifer and Kagura followed suit. A few minutes later, Barbatos came by with the tea. He first served Lord Diavolo then served Lucifer, then her. After serving everyone, Barbatos positioned himself next to Lord Diavolo.

Lord Diavolo looked at Kagura then said, "Lucifer told me you came along to request a private audience with me because you wanted to speak to me privately. Am I correct?"

Kagura nodded, "That is correct Lord Diavolo. I did not want Mammon and the others to know of this because my request is something personal. In addition, I needed to take care of it on my own."

Lord Diavolo raised an eyebrow when he heard this, "If that is what you want, then I will meet your wishes. Please tell me of your request."

Kagura nodded, "I came to request a private audience with you to ask your permission to return to the human world for the duration of the vacation. However, to return, the portal connecting to this world and mine need to be opened so I came to ask if you could open it and allow me to return to my world."

Lord Diavolo looked at her and said, "This is a serious request Kagura. There are strict rules in opening the portal. Those rules were set centuries ago. Before, the portal was open to all and we were allowed access to the human world without restrictions but problems soon occurred. To prevent these problems from happening again, I placed a new policy on the portal so only Lucifer, Barbatos, and I can access it. If other demons need to access it, they were required to request permission and provide a valid reason to go to the human world. Though the policy does not affect humans, the portal cannot be randomly opened. I understand that you want to return to the human world for summer vacation to take care of some personal things but I sense that there is more to it. Before I make any decisions, I would like you to explain."

Kagura knew Lord Diavolo would want her to provide a clear explanation before making any decisions and she understood that. She also knew she had to let Lord Diavolo, Lucifer, and Barbatos know the real reason of why she wanted to return. Kagura took a deep breath then told them.

"After my return to the Devildom, I had a strange dream; maybe ominous would be a better word. It occurred before we started the exams and before the tutoring sessions with Satan. In my dream, I was sitting in one of my favorite coffee houses when there was a sudden blackout. Before I could process what the blackout was, the scene switched to the rocky grasslands of Cornwall. However, before I could wonder more about it, the scene changed to a train and then a sense of danger then darkness. That was when I woke up and felt extremely worried. I soon became busy with exams and forgot all about my dream until yesterday morning when I woke up to see my parents' faces in my mind. They had a look of sadness and pain." Kagura finished. She didn't tell them that she was on that train nor did she tell them that in her dream, she was the one who had sensed the danger. If she had told them that, they would never have let her return and that was something she dared not risk.

When Kagura finished speaking, there was a sudden shocked silence. Lucifer was the first to recover then looked sternly at her, "You should have mentioned all of that to me when we first spoke."

Kagura nodded, "I know and I'm sorry. I needed to tell Lord Diavolo and Barbatos too. That was why I requested a private audience. Mammon and the others must not know about my dream nor can they know I'm going to the human world because of it. I only told Satan about my plans but the reason I gave was I felt homesick and wanted to check up on family. I didn't reveal my dream. However, I think telling him about it would be fine.

Lucifer nodded, "I also think you could tell him about your dream but don't tell him the true reason why you're going to the human world. If he knew, he would be against it and would prevent you from going. I'm against it too but I understand that you must take care of this on your own so I will allow it. And if Mammon and the others learned about your plans to return, it would be a disaster."

Lord Diavolo had recovered too but he looked serious and thoughtful, "Lucifer, you have a point there. Is there a way to prevent Mammon and the others from finding this out?"

Kagura turned to Lord Diavolo, "Does that mean you are giving your permission?"

Lord Diavolo nodded, "What you have told us is something very serious and it looks as if you're the only one who can do something about it. Hopefully it will not affect the Devildom but I'm doubtful. What do you think Lucifer?"

Lucifer looked at Lord Diavolo then at Kagura, "Lord Diavolo is right. It does look like you're the only one who can take care of this. However, I sense danger to your plans so please be extremely careful."

Kagura nodded, "I'll be careful."

Lucifer nodded but the look he gave her was one of extreme worry. The last thing he wanted was to put her in danger but this was something she must take care of herself. Kagura gave him a reassuring smile before he turned back to Lord Diavolo. "As to Kagura's dream, we know that in the human world, dreams are like prophecies while in the Devildom, dreams range from omens to warnings. In demon standards, Kagura's dream feels like an omen. I do not know if it will affect the Devildom. I sincerely hope not but I have my doubts as well but I also think that Kagura needs to take care of this herself."

Lord Diavolo nodded, "That is true. That is why I am concerned. But my concern is not of importance now. We are in agreement to let Kagura return to the human world but the problem of keeping this a secret from Mammon and the others still remain. How do we prevent them from finding out her plans?"

Barbatos spoke up looking calm and composed, "I have an idea Young Master. I do not think we need to hide that Kagura is in the human world, all we need to do is to prevent Lord Lucifer's brothers from finding out the real reason she's there."

Both Lord Diavolo and Lucifer looked at Barbatos as they listened to his idea. Kagura listened too, curious about what the idea was.

"Continue Barbatos. You have our complete attention."

"Yes Young Master. Do you and Lucifer remember the proposal you introduced to the RAD Research Department in one of the Student Council Meetings?"

"Yes, I remember. The proposal was to have the students at RAD participate in a research project on the Three Realms. Each group would be sent to a specified Realm to do research by collecting and analyzing data through observations and interactions."

Kagura immediately understood what Lord Diavolo's proposal was and what he was trying to do. She was impressed and looked at Lord Diavolo with admiration, "Lord Diavolo that is a brilliant idea! In the human world, we do it too. It is known as field research. Researchers would use a qualitative method of data collection to observe, interact and understand people from different cultures by doing research in a natural environment rather than a fixed one. In human terminology, the proposal is a field research project. I have a feeling that you proposed this idea to strengthen the bond between the Three Realms: Human, Celestial, and Demon. As an extra benefit, RAD students can understand more about the different realms and learn what it means to collaborate and cooperate with each other. As they do the field research, students could apply their own methods and skills in data collection and analysis while observing, interacting, and understanding the residents living in the Three Realms. What's more, students can experience what it means to work in a natural environment. Am I correct?"

Lord Diavolo nodded and smiled approvingly while Lucifer and Barbatos looked impressed. He said, "I had a feeling you would understand what I wanted to do with this proposal. You catch on quick Kagura." Turning back to Barbatos, "I think I know what your idea is and it might just work, if you would continue? Lucifer and Kagura would like to know the details."

Barbatos nodded, "Of course Young Master." Turning to Lucifer and Kagura, "In order to ensure that Lord Diavolo's proposal would be successful, the RAD Research Department needs more updated information on the Human Realm. Neither they nor the Devildom have nearly enough information on it. So to hide the real reason why Kagura's in the human world, I suggest we let Lord Lucifer's other brothers know she's there by the request of Lord Diavolo and the RAD Research Department."

Lucifer nodded thoughtfully, "That can actually work. What do you think Kagura?"

Kagura nodded, "I agree."

"Then let's fulfill Kagura's request," Lord Diavolo said. He turned to Kagura, "I'll have Lucifer open the portal for you but I would like to know when do you plan to leave?"

"Thank you Lord Diavolo. In two days."

He nodded and stood up. Lucifer and Kagura followed. Kagura then looked at Barbatos and smiled, "Thank you for the tea Barbatos. It was delicious."

"It's my pleasure. I'm glad you liked it," Barbatos replied with a smile.

Kagura looked back at Lord Diavolo then asked respectfully, "May I take my leave then?"

"Yes you may," he said with a smile.

She gave him another graceful bow and Lord Diavolo inclined his head. Kagura looked at Lucifer, "Will you be staying Lucifer? I can find my way back if you need to stay."

Lucifer looked at Kagura then at Lord Diavolo. "Do you need me to stay Lord Diavolo?"

Lord Diavolo shook his head, "Not today so you're free to go. Barbatos, if you please?"

"Of course Young Master," he said with a bow.

Barbatos led Lucifer and Kagura out of the study, through the magnificent foyer, and to the double doors.

"Thank you for coming Lord Lucifer and you too Kagura," he said with a respectful bow.

"Of course Barbatos," Lucifer said.

Kagura added her own thanks then both she and Lucifer made their way back to the House of Lamentation.

When Lucifer and Kagura got back, it was pretty late. Kagura was tired and wanted nothing more than to go to bed but her stomach growled. She blushed. Lucifer smiled, "Hungry?"

Kagura nodded, "You?"

"A little, come, let's head to the kitchen. How about we make some sandwiches?"

"Sound good," replied Kagura.

Lucifer and Kagura went to the kitchen and made the sandwiches in companionable silence. When they finished, they sat at the kitchen booth to eat them. After they finished eating, Lucifer looked at Kagura, "I know that Lord Diavolo and I had already given you permission to return to the human world but I am still worried. Your dream had all the warnings of impending danger."

Lucifer went on after a brief pause, but this time, when he looked at Kagura, his heart was in his eyes. "I know you need to figure out what your dream is trying to tell you but in truth, I don't want you to go anywhere that has danger. I couldn't bear it if I lost you too."

"Lucifer, I…" Kagura didn't finish her sentence because the next instant she was in Lucifer's arms.

"Shh… Kagura, I understand. I cannot stop you from what you must do but you have to promise me again that you'll be careful. If you find yourself in danger, I want you to summon me or Satan or any of my brothers and we'll be there immediately." As he said that, he touched the blue gem on Kagura's bracelet, his pact with her. The blue gem glowed with a bluish flame.

Kagura looked into Lucifer's eyes and nodded, "I promise."

Lucifer nodded then kissed her, a passionate one that left Kagura weak-kneed. He stood up and Kagura followed him, his arms still around her waist. She was glad of that. Kagura didn't think she would be able to stand after that kiss. Lucifer's kisses have always left her senses reeling as well as his passionate love-making, remembering again to the time they first became lovers.

"I'll walk you to your room. You have one more day before you leave. Do you have much to pack?"

Kagura shook her head. "I don't have much."

"Okay," replied Lucifer.

As they were leaving the kitchen, Kagura remembered their empty plates. "What about the dishes?"

"They can wait. You look ready for bed as am I."

Kagura nodded. No arguments there. Her bed sounded like heaven just now. When they arrived, Lucifer gave her a good night kiss then left for his room. Kagura watched him leave then entered her room closing the door behind her. She washed up, brushed her teeth, changed into her favorite nightie then went to bed and fell asleep.

Kagura didn't know how long she slept when the dream came again. She was drinking coffee at her favorite coffee house, but this time she wasn't alone. She saw a woman a few years older than her with brown hair tied loosely back. She was sitting in a booth across from Kagura. The woman's face was serious as she read her newspaper, a cup of coffee in her hand. Kagura didn't know who she was but before she could figure out why there was someone else in her dream, the same blackout occurred again and the mysterious woman's face disappeared. Just as before, the scene switched to the rocky grasslands of Cornwall then to the train ride. The scene with the train grew darker. While sitting in the train, Kagura felt it suddenly stop. The next thing she knew, a silvery gleam of what looked like a weapon appeared in the dream then the blood, lots and lots of blood, still forms lying everywhere. She then felt herself falling, a sudden pain, and then darkness.

Kagura's eyes flew open as she jerked up breathing hard. What was that?! Was that really a weapon? Not to mention the blood and still forms, she thought in horrified shock. Also, why was there a sense of her falling, pain, and then darkness? She waited until she could calm down and think. When she was calm enough, her mind whirled with so many questions but no answers. What on earth was happening in the human realm? Not to mention what on earth was going to happen to her. Kagura didn't want to think about that. Sleep was out of the question. She looked out her window, it wasn't even dawn yet. Kagura sighed to herself, what was she going to do? Maybe talking to Satan would help. He should also know that Lord Diavolo had given her permission to return home.

With that thought in her mind, Kagura got out of bed and wrapped her blue-gray terry cloth robe around her white nightie then tied her robe's belt at her waist. She quickly brushed her hair then made her way to Satan's room, hoping he was awake at this hour. If not, she'll talk to him tomorrow. His room wasn't far so it didn't take long to get there. When she arrived, she knocked on Satan's door, and to her surprise, his voice came to her. "Come in," he said. Kagura entered and looked at Satan. He was in his own robes reading a book in his bed. She felt her heart skip a beat. The green and gold robe had cute cat prints on it and the color suited him well. Satan looked good.

"What are you reading?"

Satan nearly dropped his book, "Kagura? What are you doing here?" He looked up, saw that she was in a blue-gray robe that made him catch his breath. She was so beautiful. He turned beet red than looked away. "This isn't proper, Kagura. You shouldn't be here."

"That's the least of my worries. I need to talk to you. Do you have a minute?"

Hearing her serious tone, he looked back. "There's something on your mind." It was more of a statement than a question.

Kagura nodded. Satan got up, put away his book then returned to his bed. He patted the empty seat next to him. "Have a seat." She made her way to Satan's bed and sat next to him. "Earlier today, Lucifer and I went to Lord Diavolo's for tea and I made my request to him."

Satan nodded, "I had a feeling that was why Lucifer brought you along."

"It's true. Lucifer gave me a private audience with Lord Diavolo while we were there. When I first made my request, Lord Diavolo told me that the portal had restricted access and my request was difficult to meet until I could tell him why I wanted to return to the human world so I did."

"And what did Lord Diavolo say after you told him?"

"He was still undecided but Lucifer managed to convince him so the request was granted. I'll be leaving in two days. I plan to pack tomorrow. The next day, Lucifer is going to take me to the portal."

Satan nodded, "I'm glad Lord Diavolo gave you permission but I sense that there is something more you want to tell me."

"I do but I can't go into any specifics. If Lucifer decides to tell you, he will find the right time to do it."

Satan looked at Kagura for a long moment before he spoke, "Very well, I understand. How much can you reveal?"

Kagura hesitated a moment before continuing, "I can't reveal everything that was discussed but I can tell you about what was decided to prevent Mammon and the others from knowing about my trip."

"Go on."

"While we were at Lord Diavolo's castle, we came up with an idea to prevent Mammon and the others from knowing about my trip. Well, Barbatos was the one who came up with it and I have to say the idea was a good one."

"Not surprising. Barbatos is Lord Diavolo's most trusted steward so his ideas tend to have a high success rate. So what was this idea of his?"

"As a Student Council member, I assume that you know about Lord Diavolo's proposal for the RAD Research Department?"

"Yes, that was discussed in a Student Council meeting we had. Lord Diavolo's proposal was very interesting. I liked it, though there were challenges. How has this to do with Barbatos' idea?"

"Barbatos explained it to me as well as Lucifer. From what I understood of the proposal and what Barbatos had said, the RAD Research Department does not have enough updated information on the Human Realm to do field research there nor does the Devildom, but they have more than enough on the Celestial and Demon Realms for Lord Diavolo's proposal to partially succeed. So, the idea Barbatos had was for Mammon and the others to know that I am in the human world rather than hide it. However, I'm only there under Lord Diavolo's request as well as the RAD Research Department's request. The story is that Lord Diavolo and the Research Department both agreed to have me gather the necessary information on the Human Realm to be brought back to the Devildom so Lord Diavolo's proposal can fully succeed."

Satan looked impressed, "You're one smart lady, understanding Lord Diavolo's proposal like that and figuring out Barbatos' idea. I have to admit his idea is a good one and it would work."

Kagura nodded, "I think so too. His idea wasn't hard to figure out. The field researchers in the human world face similar problems and challenges. In order for their research to be a success, they would find solutions for different problems and find ways to work with the challenges they face. As for Lord Diavolo's proposal, we do them too in the human world."

Kagura was silent for a moment as she remembered the conversation she had with Lucifer at Lord Diavolo's. She had said she could tell Satan about her dreams/nightmares but not about the real reason she's returning to the human world and Lucifer had agreed.

Satan looked at Kagura, "I sense that you have something else on your mind."

Kagura blinked in surprise, "You can tell?"

Satan looked at her seriously, "I've known you for a very long time Kagura. Did you really think I couldn't tell? Tell me."

Kagura sighed. Satan was right. They have known each other for a long time and she knew that he could read her like a book. She would tell him about her dream turned nightmares but be indirect about it.

"Okay. Ever since I returned to the Devildom, I've been having strange dreams that turned into nightmares. The first time was before Lucifer and I went to Lord Diavolo's while the second time was when Lucifer and I returned. These have gotten me on edge."

Satan frowned, "That's not good. For demons, dreams are ill omens or warnings not to mention nightmares while for humans, dreams are considered prophecies. This is very concerning."

"Lucifer told me the same thing."

Satan nodded, "That's not surprising. All demons know about dreams and nightmares. Returning to yours, can you tell me more about them?"

Kagura shook her head, "I don't know how to explain them. All I know is that I feel as if these dreams are trying to tell me or show me something. I also feel a sense of urgency."

Satan looked thoughtfully at her, "I think you feel a sense of urgency because your dreams/nightmares are showing you something of the past or something that will happen soon. I have read about these dreams in my books. Humans who have these dreams are a special group of humans. In demon terminology, we call these humans seers while in the human tongue, you call them psychics."

Kagura stared at Satan in disbelief, "Are you saying that my dreams/nightmares are showing me something that had happened in the past or will happen soon? That's impossible. There aren't any psychics in my family. What I know about psychic abilities is that it could be either real or fake. Real psychics are rare while fake ones are everywhere. The fake ones use a variety of tricks to make their abilities look real while the real ones are true psychics with abilities ranging from telekinesis to telepathy to clairvoyance while others include retrocognition and precognition. For the real ones, the abilities get passed from generation to generation."

Satan looked at her and asked, "Is it so unbelievable? You've been living with us for a long time and have gained magical abilities and powers that you've never had before. I wouldn't be surprised if you gained some psychic abilities as well."

Kagura knew that Satan was right but it was still hard to wrap her mind around it. She was supposed to be from a normal family doing normal things. Before she came to the Devildom, she had no abilities or powers whatsoever. Life was fine albeit boring. Then she was brought to the Devildom, a world based on biblical references and not on reality. After she arrived, Kagura's normal life changed just as she changed. She made pacts with the seven demon brothers who were representations of the Seven Deadly Sins then found out that she was the human descendant of the demon brothers' late sister, Lilith. Later, Solomon's powers unlocked her hidden magical talents she never knew she had. Living and going to school with the demon brothers, she had learned about magic, how to cast spells and curses, hexes…that don't happen in reality.

Kagura sighed, "I know you're right Satan but it's still kind of hard for me to wrap my mind around this. I came from a normal family but gained magical powers while living in the Devildom. How can I explain that to my parents? They'll definitely think I've gone crazy."

"Then don't say anything. Humans cannot know about the existence of demons or it would affect the balance between the two Realms. This is true for the Celestial Realm as well but I don't think that would ever be revealed. They believe that there exists a Heaven and that is good enough."

Kagura nodded in understanding, "I'm glad I came here to talk with you. I feel much better now. I also want to thank you for telling me the truth behind my dreams/nightmares. If they were prophetic dreams then I think you need to know what I saw. After I tell you, I'll need to access your books to figure out what they're trying to tell or show me."

Satan nodded, "Of course."

"In my first dream/nightmare, I saw a coffee house; it was a coffee house I knew about then a blackout occurred. After the blackout, the scene switched to the rocky grasslands of Cornwall then switched to a train and a sense of danger followed by darkness. In my second dream/nightmare, I saw a mysterious woman in the same coffee house I saw in my first dream then the same blackout occurred. The scene switched to the grasslands of Cornwall again and changed to show me the same train from my first dream/nightmare. However, this time the train was moving. It looked to be going somewhere before it came to a sudden stop. That was when the dream turned into a nightmare. In the nightmare, I saw a silver gleam of something metal then blood, followed by still forms and shadowy figures. Later, it felt like something was falling. There was pain followed by complete darkness. That was when I woke up."

Satan stared at her, "Kagura they sound like prophetic dreams. It feels as if something is going to happen in the human world or have already happened though I don't know what. Tell me you don't plan to go to the human world to prevent your nightmare from coming true or to tell someone about it. If you are, I'm not going to let you go."

Kagura went still. She had forgotten about Satan's keen intuition. This wasn't good, he was too close to the truth. She didn't say that out loud but she knew she had to say something to prevent Satan from putting the pieces together. After thinking about what to say, she tried a half-truth. She turned to Satan, "Of course not, I've already told you why I want to return. I miss it. I also want to check up on family, take care of some personal things back home, and visit my family's ocean villa. After that dream-nightmare, there's no way I'm going near any trains or any danger."

Satan nodded. The relief evident in his eyes, "I believe you."

Kagura hid a sigh of relief, "About the books?"

After some thinking, he nodded, "You may use my books. I would also like to help you research the information you need. Are there any specific books you're looking for?"

"Yes. I'm looking for any books on the history of London, especially historical documentation on train incidents."

When Kagura saw Satan's expression, she sighed, "Look Satan, I only want to find information about any similar incidents that can match my nightmare. That is all. In addition, if you're worried about my dream/nightmare, didn't you say that these could also show a scene from the past? Mine could also be showing something that happened in the past so there shouldn't be any worries. If you're still not satisfied, I can tell you that London had never had any train incidents involving deaths."

Satan was finally persuaded, "Very well. Shall we get to work then? Let's find the information you need. If the information is helpful to you or the humans in the human world, then I'm glad to do it."

Kagura stared at Satan, "You would? I thought you didn't like to involve yourself in human affairs."

"I don't but you're an exception. I mostly want to help you. For the other humans, let's consider it as temporary help."

"Thank you Satan!" Kagura said happily as she launched herself into his arms then gave him a grateful kiss not realizing she had knocked him onto his bed compromising their situation. When she realized what happened, Satan's arms had already gone around her as he pulled her against him. Their eyes met and Kagura felt her senses go reeling as she looked into Satan's green eyes that had suddenly gone dark. His intentions clear.

"You shouldn't have done that Kagura. Now I'm not going to let you go," Satan said in a sultry voice making Kagura's heart skip a beat.

"That's all right," Kagura said breathlessly then gave him a passionate kiss.

Satan returned her kiss with a passionate one of his own, "This is your last warning. If we do this, I won't be able to stop. Are you sure about this?"

Kagura nodded and said, "I love you Satan. I've loved you for a very long time now."

Satan's breath caught as he heard these words. They were the words he had wanted to hear for a long time ever since he realized he had fallen for her on the night they said goodbye.

"I've wanted to hear those words from you ever since I realized my love for you."

"I know Satan. I remember it well. I felt your love and your pain. They were as clear as day when you said goodbye but I couldn't comfort or soothe you nor could I say 'I love you' because I knew that wasn't what you would have wanted. Rather, it would have brought you even more pain."

"You were right. When I left you and said my goodbye, I was afraid of those words. Neither did I want comfort nor to be soothed because if you've done any of that, my heart couldn't have taken it. I loved you too much and I would never be able to let you go."

Kagura stared at him, "You loved me that much?"

Satan nodded, "That night was when you stole my heart. After you left, I missed you so. Thinking about you every day and night was painful as if my heart had been torn in two. Not even my books could ease my pain or loneliness."

"Oh Satan," Kagura said, "I never meant to give you so much pain."

Satan held her close and said, "Shh… Kagura, it's not your fault. I knew that you had to return to the human world because that was where you belonged. While you were away, I did some thinking of my own. Though it was painful for me to be separated from you, I knew that my heart would always be with you no matter where you were. We may not be able to have an eternity but my love for you is eternal."

With that said Satan somehow got Kagura underneath him then started to kiss her everywhere. His passionate kisses started a trail from her lips to her chin, to her arched neck, and then returned to her lips. More passionate kisses followed as Satan deftly pushed away her robe and nightie until she was halfway bare then pushed away his own before continuing to her breasts, belly, navel, and thighs. Seconds later, the kisses turned to exquisite love-making as Satan finally made Kagura his and became one with her.

As dawn broke, Satan woke and looked at the sleeping Kagura in his arms. She was so beautiful, achingly so. Last night was the first time they became lovers and it felt right. Satan had long given his heart to her. When she first came to the Devildom, they were virtually strangers but on speaking terms. Then he nearly killed her when she didn't agree to a pact based on hatred. He shuddered at that memory. Now, as he thought back to it, he was glad that Lucifer had intervened, otherwise Kagura wouldn't be alive and here with him. The mere thought of losing her was like a blade to his heart. As they got closer and spent more time together, Kagura had slowly opened his heart. It wasn't long before he fell for her.

Satan sighed, now is not the time to take a trip down memory lane, he thought. They still had work to do. Satan kissed her, "Time to wake up my princess. We still have much work to do before you return to your room."

Kagura slowly woke up and gave Satan a smile that made his heart skip a beat. "No flirting," Satan said sternly, "otherwise we'll never get to the books. That's the main reason you came, right?"

Kagura nodded, "We do need to get to work. Do you mind getting my robe?"

Satan passed the robe to her.

Kagura nodded her thanks then put on her robe, tying the belt to keep it in place. Satan had already put his back on. "So, what books are you looking for? Dreams or is it history?" Satan asked.

"History," Kagura said, "but not human history, rather, a city's history. I'm looking for books on the history of London. Do you have any?"

Satan nodded, "Many. Which period are you looking for?"

Kagura thought about it for a minute, "How about between 18th and 19th Century?"

"Okay." Satan turned to his shelves of books and pulled out all his books on that period. A few minutes later, he motioned toward the pile of books. "Is this enough?"

Kagura stared at the pile than looked at Satan, "It's more than enough. You sure have a lot of books on it. That pile has enough information to write a paper. I can even picture a title, The Relationship between the Past and the Present in 18th–19th Century London."

Satan laughed, "You're right about that. As I've said, knowledge is power. I've always loved history books and London history is one that I find quite fascinating."

"Shall we get started then? There's much to cover and you need to return to your room soon."

Kagura nodded. She took the top book and sat down, flipping through the pages to see if there was any information that can help her understand what the train nightmare was showing her. As she scanned the pages, her eyes fell upon Scotland Yard. Scotland Yard was the British police force now known as New Scotland Yard. Ever since she was a little girl, she had loved to follow their cases and to read about them in the papers. Not to mention her father would often be asked by them to consult with them on cases they have trouble solving. Kagura's father was a crime consultant. The strange vision of her parents came back to her again. Why did they look sad and in pain? Her mom was rarely sad and I've never seen her in pain before. As for dad, the more serious one, probably because of his job, rarely gets that way either. Kagura shook her wandering thoughts away. Now was not the time to think about that. She returned to her book but didn't find anything until her eyes fell on one of the most famous robbery crimes in the history of London, "The Great Train Robbery of 1963". Kagura remembered reading about it. The train robbery created a media sensation. It was in the papers, news and media. The robbers had managed to steal 2,600,000 pounds of bank notes from the Glasgow-London Royal Mail Train, near Bridego Bridge north of London.

"Satan, I think I found something."

He looked up from his own research and came over to Kagura. Satan nodded, "I know about this incident. When I read about it, I became engrossed. The incident reminded me of the murder mystery we solved on the train when we were in London even though both cases were different."

Kagura nodded, "I remember too. We both figured out who the culprit was. The murder mystery on that train was also similar to a murder mystery I've read before. It was one of my favorites."

"Oh?" Satan looked interested, "Which one?"

"Murder on the Orient Express, it's by Agatha Christie. She's one of my favorite mystery writers."

"Is that so? I've read it too. I told her it was one of my favorites."

Kagura's jaw dropped, "You knew her and talked to her?!"

"We've met; she was a talented writer. I would often visit her and we would talk about her mysteries over tea and snacks. It was great fun."

Kagura looked at Satan in disbelief, "So you not only knew her but also met her?! Even had discussions?!"

"What's so shocking about that? I did tell you that we demons have lived for centuries."

Kagura gave up and sighed, "I assume that she was one of your mysterious acquaintances?"

Without batting an eye, he nodded.

"Before we went off topic, you said the Great Train Robbery sparked something from your nightmare?"

Kagura nodded, "It corroborates something I saw but it's not confirmed. I need more information."

Satan nodded then turned to his own books, "I looked through my books and have also found information on the Great Train Robbery but it's getting late. We could talk more about it later. You still need to pack so let's call it a night. Can you make it back on your own?"

Kagura nodded and stood, Satan as well. She put down her book then smiled, "Thank you Satan, you've been a great help. I'll see you tomorrow." Then she kissed him. Satan pulled her into his arms and kissed her back.

"See you soon my princess," he whispered against her lips before letting go.

Kagura nodded with a smile then left his room to return to hers.

Returning to her room, Kagura started packing for her return to the human world. From her closet, she took out her overnight bag, the same one she took to the Retreat. Kagura didn't need to pack much, a few of her belongings and some change of clothes. After she finished packing, her mind returned to the information she found about the Great Train Robbery.

She told Satan that the robbery did corroborate something in her dream. According to historical records, a weapon was used during the heist to render the driver unconscious. Maybe that was the silvery gleam she saw in her dream. She had also read that before the heist took place, the driver saw a red signal that was later found to be tampered with. That could explain why the train in her dream had come to a sudden stop. However, nothing she found explained the blood or the still forms she saw. Not to mention the sense of falling, pain, and the darkness.

Kagura sighed. Maybe Satan had better luck with his findings. She'll talk to him later today. Right now she needed to get dressed. Kagura changed into a silvery blue top, pulled on her shorts, and slipped on her sneakers before going down to the kitchen. She was in charge of breakfast today.

After reaching the kitchen, she got down to business. Kagura tied back her hair, washed her hands then started on breakfast. She got out the ingredients for the omelets then took out the bacon strips followed by several loaves of bread. Once her ingredients were ready, she did the prep then started to cook. She was going to make omelets, fry some bacon, and make French toast then fruit and yogurt parfaits after. Omelets took longer so she started on those first. She made eight portions of the omelet; Beel's being the biggest then set them aside. Next was the French toast, making sure to make extra for Beel's gigantic appetite. Once she finished making the French toast, she set that aside as well and started on the bacon. Kagura fried the strips of bacon to a tender crispiness and soon that was ready as well. She started arranging the food on the plates to be brought to the dining table. Each plate had an omelet, four strips of bacon and two slices of French toast cut into triangles. Beel had three plates. One had a bigger-sized omelet that covered the whole plate; another had piles of bacon while the third had piles of French toast cut into triangles. Nodding in satisfaction, Kagura brought out the brothers' breakfast first. She placed the plates in their specified area then brought out her own. After she set hers down, she returned to the kitchen to make the fruit and yogurt parfaits.

Surprisingly, the kitchen's fridge was stocked with fruit from the human world and she found the Devildom's equivalent to the human world's yogurt which was actually pretty good. She took out the strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and the yogurt then started on the parfaits. Kagura washed the strawberries and blueberries then started to chop the strawberries into bite-size pieces before peeling the bananas and slicing them. Setting both aside with the blueberries, she took out the dessert cups. Unfortunately, none of the dessert cups was big enough for Beel so she substituted his dessert cup with a huge bowl. Then she started the layering for the parfaits. Taking one of the dessert cups, she layered it with fruit and yogurt creating four layers before setting it aside to work on the other cups. When it came to Beel's bowl, he got multiple layers of fruit and yogurt that filled up his bowl to the brim. When everyone's parfaits were ready, Kagura put them into the fridge and returned to the dining hall, sat, and waited for the brothers. It wasn't long before they came down. Lucifer came first followed by Mammon, Levi, Satan, Asmo, Beel and Belphie.

"Everything smells divine," Lucifer complimented.

"And look good," added Satan.

Beel nodded in agreement, drooling as he looked at the food. He then noticed the extra portions where he sat then smiled happily at Kagura. "Thanks Kagura."

"No problem, I know how much you can eat so I made extra for you."

Kagura turned to the others and said, "I've also made fruit and yogurt parfaits for everyone. They're in the fridge. I'll take them out when everyone's finished eating."

Satan's eyes lit up, "You've even made parfaits? I love those things. I haven't had home-made ones before. I mostly go to Déjà Vu for them."

Kagura laughed, "Well, you're in luck. I made some for you and everyone else. Let's eat first then I'll take them out.

"Sound good," Satan replied.

After everyone was seated, they started to eat.

"Wow, Kagura. This egg dish and bread is very good. I've never had these kinds of human food before. What are they called?"

Kagura turned, it was Satan. He was looking at his half-eaten omelet and French toast with surprise. She looked at the other brothers and they all had the same expressions except Beel who was eating his food with gusto.

Kagura put down her knife and fork and looked at everyone with surprise, "I take it neither one of you have had these before." It was more of a statement than a question.

Everyone nodded except Beel who was busy eating. Kagura couldn't believe it. The demon brothers had lived for centuries and have gone to the human world multiple times. How could they not have recognized or tried omelets and French toast before?

Kagura pointed at her own half-eaten omelet. "This is called an 'omelet' and this, pointing to her "bread" as Satan had called it is 'French toast'. We often like to make them for breakfast. An 'omelet' is a dish of beaten eggs cooked in a frying pan until firm, often with a filling added while cooking, and usually served folded over in a shape similar to omurice. The fillings can be anything we want. The most traditional filling we use is ham, onions, and cheese like the ones here. 'French toast' is bread coated in egg and milk and fried."

Satan nodded then thought of something, "Wait, 'omelet' sounds French like the word 'parfait' and the word 'French toast' have the word 'French' in it so doesn't that mean all three human food originated from France?"

Kagura nodded, "You're partially correct. 'Omelet' and 'parfait' does originate from France and the French call 'French toast' pain perdu meaning "lost bread". Though 'French toast' is synonymous with France because it's a very popular breakfast food, it doesn't originate from France."

Satan looked fascinated, and the others, this time including Beel, also looked fascinated as Kagura told them the origins of 'omelet' and 'French toast'.

"Kagura, you've piqued our interest. Please continue," said Lucifer.

Satan nodded in agreement, "I would love to know more about these human foods. You said that 'French toast' is synonymous to France because of its popularity but it did not originate from France. Then where did it originate from and why do the French call it "lost bread"?"

"'French toast' first originated from the Middle Ages in human history. It's believed that French toast was invented by impoverished European cooks, who, in order to feed their families, had to use every bit of food they could find. They moistened and heated day-old bread, then added eggs for extra moisture. They fried it to a toast…and thus the French toasts were born. As to why the French called it "lost bread", it's because they believed that if the bread used goes stale or become old, it would be "lost" or thrown away if it's not revived into this dish, the 'French toast'."

"That's extremely fascinating to know. So that's the origin of 'French toast'. Who would have known that it was made from day-old bread?" Satan was genuinely impressed.

"We can also use fresh bread to make it."

Satan nodded, "And what about the origin of the 'omelet'? You told us it originates from France, like the word 'parfait'."

"Yes, 'omelet', like 'parfait', is French. 'Omelet' is derived from the French words amulete and amulette. That means 'omelet' has two different spellings. The first spelling is O-M-E-L-E-T while the other spelling is O-M-E-L-E-T-T-E for amulete and amulette respectively. The French words amulete and amulette were first used in the 14th century to describe what we now call the 'omelet'. Though France is where the 'omelet' originated, the French weren't the first people to come up with the food. The Persians and the Romans also had their own versions of the 'omelet'."

"Fascinating, so very fascinating", Satan breathed.

Kagura laughed, she knew Satan would be like this. He loved knowledge. Lots and lots of knowledge no matter if it's random or not.

"Now, if there aren't any more questions, can we finish eating? The food is going cold and we still have the parfaits in the fridge," Kagura said.

Everyone nodded and returned to their food. Once everyone finished, Kagura went to the kitchen to get the parfaits.

"Need help?" Satan asked.

Kagura turned to Satan who seemed to have followed her and smiled her thanks. "Yes, please. Can you take out the serving tray? I would like to put the parfaits on the tray."

Satan nodded, taking it out from one of the cupboards in the kitchen. Kagura opened the fridge and took out the parfaits, handing them to Satan as he put them on the tray.

"These look really good Kagura. You really outdid yourself. I assume the bowl is Beel's?"

Kagura nodded, "You know his appetite. A regular-sized one won't be nearly enough for him."

Satan laughed, "You're right."

In companionable silence, they arranged the parfaits on the tray. After a moment, Kagura said, "About the information you found on the Great Train Robbery, when do you want to go over it?"

Satan nodded, "I haven't forgotten. Do you have time later this afternoon?"

"Yes," Kagura replied.

"Okay, so shall we bring these to the others?"

Kagura nodded and they returned to the dining hall. She served the parfaits, giving the bowl to Beel. His eyes lit up when he saw his and immediately dug in. After everyone finished, they all complimented her cooking and thanked her before going their separate ways. Lucifer stayed and said, "I'll help you with the dishes."

Kagura nodded her thanks, and together they gathered the dirty dishes and brought them to the kitchen to get washed. While they were doing the dishes, Lucifer told her that he will take her to the portal after breakfast tomorrow.

"Is the portal far?" Kagura asked.

"No, it's not far," Lucifer replied. "Have you finished packing?"

"Yes."

"Then I'll see you tomorrow," Lucifer said as he finished washing the rest of the dishes.

"Thanks, I'll see you tomorrow," Kagura said.

Lucifer nodded, "I'm going to my office to get some work done, what about you?"

"I think I'll do some reading in the Library," Kagura replied.

"Okay, I'll be in my office if you need me."

Kagura nodded. After Lucifer left, she made her way to the Library.

The Library was impressive despite the spider webs and décor. Rows upon rows of books lined the wooden shelves that ringed the whole room. There was a cozy fireplace with an antique clock on the mantel and a painting above it. Hanging from the ceiling was a hanging candelabrum that illuminated the room with candlelight. Across from the fireplace were two purple chairs lined with velvet and between the chairs was a reading desk. A thick red carpet covered the floor in the massive library.

Kagura wandered from shelf to shelf to search for books to read. There were books on curses, hexes, and magic spells as well as other books. Her eyes fell on the section labeled "Holy Magic". Curious, she took out a book and saw that it was on healing and offensive magic. Seating herself in one of the chairs, she opened the book and started to read. The content was very interesting. She read that Holy Magic can be used for offensive purposes as well, not just for healing. There are two ways to attack with Holy Magic—using the Light attribute and converting it into Light-based attacks and calling on the four elements of Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. Kagura also learned that practitioners of Elemental Magic call upon the magic of these elements found in nature. Spells will typically consist of using a single element most related to the goal of the spell. She continued reading and learned that energy is the foundation of all Elemental Magic. The words and actions accompanying a spell are the least important part. When casting a spell, the words and actions of the spell serve only to guide the practitioner's focus on the energy involved.

Kagura paused in her reading and thought about what she had learned so far. If energy is the foundation of Elemental Magic then I can see how Holy Magic can be used to cast offensive spells. The Light attribute can be converted into Light energy to work in tandem with Elemental Magic to cast not only protection spells but also offensive spells to protect, defend, and to attack. If I could learn these spells, I'll be able to protect myself and everyone else who is important to me. With that thought in mind, she continued reading and came to the part on Light Magic. According to the book, Light Magic is the fastest Magic Type. Using Light Magic, practitioners can create weapons as they desire like Light blades, arrows, and whips. Out of all the offensive spells, Lightning strikes were the strongest. In addition, the weapons created by Light Magic can be projected to travel the same speed as the other Light magic spells making it one of the strongest Magic Types out there.

Noting all the information she read so far, she soon reached another section of the book, on Purification Magic. Kagura learned that Purification Magic is a form of magic that purifies intended target(s), enabling specialized effects such as physical healing, spiritual restoration, corruption negation and absolution of darkness/evil. Not only can Purification Magic do these, they can also cancel out Black Magic. Kagura was interested. These spells may come in handy one day. Which ones should I learn? Her eyes scanned all the Purification spells and three drew her eye. The first one was a spell to cancel out Black Magic. The spell didn't look too hard. It activates when the spell caster raises their hand and shouts out "Purification!" The next spell that drew her attention was a simple Purification spell in which the caster shouts out an incantation, "Arrows of purification come to me. Now purify!" After the incantation is said, a bluish bow and arrow would appear in the caster's hands and the arrow of blue energy would purify any dark energy in the vicinity. The third one was the strongest Purification spell that can cleanse and purify all darkness but will exhaust the caster because the spell drains much of the caster's magical reserves. To activate the spell, the caster needs to call on all the power they have at their disposal including the Powers of Light and chant, "I, (name) invoke all the Powers of Light and all the powers I command to come to my aide. Heed my command and purify this Darkness! Post tenebras spero lucem. Spell of Luminescence!"

As she read the chant in silence, she felt a strange power build inside of her. Panicked, she quickly closed the book and with her own magical abilities forced the power away. When it subsided, she breathed a sigh of relief. What was that?! Kagura thought. She had never experienced something like that before. Glad that she somehow managed to push it away, she returned her book to the shelf then started searching for Elemental spell books. It wasn't long before Kagura found a spell book that drew her attention. She walked toward it and reached out her hand to take it. As she touched the book, it began to glow. With a gasp, she jerked her hand away and the glow disappeared. What was that all about? She asked herself. Curious, she reached for the book again and the glow returned. She took it out and looked at it. The book looked like any other spell book. Brown leather rimmed in silver and gold. However, there was some sort of seal on it. Immense power radiated from the book and it seemed to resonate with her. What is this book? Why does it feel as if it was calling to her? Kagura touched the seal and the book opened.

As the book opened, Kagura felt an incredible power surge into her. Spells beyond her comprehension filled her mind, spells that have been lost for centuries. When her senses returned to normal, the book had closed with the seal back in place. It flickered once then disappeared. Kagura blinked in surprise as she watched the book disappear before her eyes, "Wha…" Before she could finish her thought, Kagura's D.D.D buzzed. It was a text message from Satan.

Satan: Come to the kitchen. I need your help.

Kagura: Be right there.

Satan: Okay.

She closed her D.D.D then went to the kitchen to help Satan.

"So, what do you need help with?" Kagura asked.

"First, look at this," Satan said pointing to an opened box of Ruri-chan sausages.

"Levi?" Kagura asked with a sigh.

"Yes. When I came down to prepare lunch, Levi was here and told me to use these before they go bad. I was planning to make shadow goose burgers and Hellfire curry rice for lunch and have already gathered the necessary ingredients, but now I have to use these. That's why I asked your help, as these are ingredients from the human world. I thought it would be best to rely on your expertise. What would be the best way to prepare them?"

Kagura replied, "You don't necessarily have to change your menu to use these. For the shadow goose burgers, you can grill the sausages. It would be delicious."

"No, I don't think adding them as a garnish would…Oh, I see. You mean I should put them inside the hamburgers and then grill them? Yes, we can go with that. What about the Hellfire curry rice?"

"Simple, mix the sausages with the rice and cook them together," Kagura replied.

"Mix them together?" Satan asked surprised. He thought about it then an idea came to him. "Wait, I could chop them up with all the ingredients in the rice then cook them together."

Kagura smiled, "That's the point. Shall we get to work then? I'll chop the sausages and ingredients for the rice while you grill the sausages for the burgers."

Satan nodded. Together, Satan and Kagura prepared lunch. A couple of hours passed when Satan told Kagura the burgers were ready and whether she needed help with the chopping. Kagura nodded and asked, "Do you mind chopping the Hellfire mushrooms? I'm working on the remaining sausages."

Satan nodded. He took out another chopping board and started chopping. Kagura returned to her own chopping, her thoughts returning to the spell book that disappeared before her eyes. While thinking of that, she accidentally cut her finger. She winced as the cut bled. Satan saw the cut and hissed between his breaths, "I'll get the first aid kit."

"It's okay Satan. I'll take care of it."

Kagura put her finger near her lips and breathed on it then said, "Heal." There was a faint aura of light and the cut healed.

Satan gave her a long look before saying, "Kagura, we have a first aid kit. Such a small wound doesn't require healing magic."

Kagura blushed, "I know but this is quicker. Besides, we need to finish preparing lunch. The others would be coming soon."

Satan sighed, "Very well," before returning to his chopping.

It wasn't long before everything was ready. Satan and Kagura set the table and brought out the food. It was lunchtime. The others came one by one, complimented the food then sat down.

"Mm…! This Ruri-chan food is great!" Levi smiled happily.

With a sigh, Satan said, "Glad to hear it."

"Yeah, it's good." Beel mumbled between bites as he ate his food with gusto.

Lucifer looked at his rice and said, "The sausage is a nice addition Satan. I've never had Hellfire curry rice with sausages before."

Satan shrugged, "That was Kagura's idea. Neither have I. I've read that the human world has a similar dish. They call it Jambalaya."

"Jambalaya…? What is that?" Lucifer asked.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" Satan asked with a smile before returning to his food.

Lucifer looked at Satan with annoyance then shook his head before returning to his rice. After everyone finished, Satan and Kagura washed the dishes together.

"After we take care of the dishes, come to my room. I'll show you what I found in my research regarding the Train Robbery," Satan said.

Kagura nodded. Once the dishes were done, Kagura followed Satan to his room only to bump into Mammon leaving to go somewhere. Kagura froze. This is bad. Mammon must not find out why she's going to Satan's room. He could not find out about her prophetic dreams nor must he know that she was going to the human world to figure out what her dreams were trying to show or tell her.

Mammon looked at the two suspiciously, "What are you two up to? You two seem to be spending a lot of time together."

Kagura racked her brain to come up with something but Satan smoothly took care of it.

"Kagura, besides Murder on the Orient Express, what other mysteries have you read by Ms. Agatha Christie? Do you have any recommendations?"

Kagura immediately caught on. "Let me think. Have you read, And Then There Were None?"

"You mean the mystery she published in 1939? I remember that one but I didn't get to it because I was reading one of her earlier ones, The A.B.C. Murders that was published in 1936."

"I know that mystery. I read it too. It's too bad you didn't get to Agatha Christie's 1939 mystery. It's as good as The A.B.C. Murders and one of her more chilling ones. I'm sure you would have loved it."

Satan nodded, "I know I would. I love chilling mysteries, the darker and creepier the better. So what was it about?"

Kagura replied, "It's about ten people, each with something to hide and something to fear. They are invited to an isolated mansion on an island called Indian Island by a host who fails to appear. While on the island, these people are cut off from everything but each other and the inescapable shadows of their past lives. In such surroundings, the guests share their darkest secrets of their wicked pasts but one by one they die…"

Satan looked fascinated, "Are there any survivors?"

"I can't tell you. You'll have to read it yourself if you want to find out. However, I can tell you that when I read it, I was seriously creeped out by it. It's surprising that I managed to sleep after reading it."

From the corner of her eye, Kagura noticed that Mammon had gone pale when she told Satan about the book. She turned to him without batting an eye then asked, "Is something the matter? You aren't frightened by what I said are you? It's just a book."

Mammon sputtered angrily, "I ain't frightened by no book!"

"Is that so?" Satan asked, "Should I talk about the mystery I've read as well?"

Without waiting for Mammon's reply, he turned to Kagura and said, "You've read The A.B.C. Murders too have you not?"

Kagura nodded, "That one was also one of my favorites because it had a serial killer in it. Serial killers have always fascinated me. How can such people look harmless on the outside, and have ideals and aspirations while inside they're so different? These disconnect between their appearance and reality is a defining trait of serial killers and is one of the main reasons I find them so fascinating. The other reason is their flawless planning and kills and how they could evade capture. Even baffle Scotland Yard like the serial killer, Jack the Ripper."

Satan nodded, "I also know about Jack the Ripper. Scotland Yard never found the culprit so his crimes were left unpunished. If it were me, I would've found the culprit in no time."

Kagura nodded, "I think you would've too."

Then Mammon said, "So would I but this talk is getting boring. How can you two go on and on about this without getting bored? What Mystery nerds. I've got a gig to go to so I'll leave you two to your nerdy talks." With that said he turned and left.

After Mammon left, Kagura sighed with relief.

"That was a nice save. Thanks Satan."

Satan looked at Kagura with a raised brow, "It was just quick thinking on my part but I'm surprised you caught on so quickly."

"It wasn't hard to see what you were trying to do so I followed your lead. Besides, I'm a mystery buff myself," Kagura blushed at that admission.

Satan looked interested, "Then we have something else in common. As much as I love to continue our conversation, we have other things to talk about that take top priority. Let's go."

Kagura nodded and followed Satan to his room.

"Have a seat," Satan said as he pushed away some books that were next to him. Kagura came over and sat down.

"So what did you find?" Kagura asked.

Satan seated himself before replying, "You told me that you found something on the Great Train Robbery that sparked something from the dream you had. What was it?"

"From what I read, a weapon of some sort was used to knock out the driver and that the train came to a stop because the robbers tampered with the railway signal making it turn red. That corroborates why the train in my dream stopped."

Satan nodded, "There was more after they tampered with the railway signal. Here, take a look." He reached for a book to his right and showed Kagura the place he marked. Kagura took the book and saw a photograph of a glove that was stuck in the compartment of the railway signal.

"A glove was jammed into it making the signal turn red forcing the train to stop before the heist occurred." Kagura said.

Satan nodded impressed, "You're pretty good."

Kagura shrugged, "It was pretty obvious. Robbers need to make preparations ahead of time to successfully pull off a heist," but she was secretly pleased by Satan's praise.

"If you would look at the next part, there's something in it that may explain more of your dream."

Kagura returned to the book. She scanned the information until her eyes went to the attack. Kagura felt a chill as she remembered the silvery gleam she saw in her dream. Could that have really been a weapon? Could it possibly be the weapon used in the heist or a weapon that caused the blood splatters in her dream? Returning back to the heist, she read that the train fireman went to call for help only to notice that the wires of the railway telephone had been cut. He returned to report what had happened to the driver only to be brutally attacked along with the driver. As Kagura finished, her mind returned to the dream, the brutal attack could've explained the still forms and the sense of falling, pain, and darkness. It could even be almost exact on target but it was she that was falling, the pain was hers, and she felt that the darkness had closed in around her.

Returning to the present, "Satan, this information sounds exactly on target to what I saw in my dream, a sense of falling, the pain and darkness. Maybe this brutal attack may be what I saw in my dream." She closed the book and returned it to Satan.

"I had a feeling it might when I read about it. Do these help corroborate more of your dream?"

Kagura nodded, "It does and even explained some other things as well. Thanks Satan. You've been a great help."

Kagura then leaned toward Satan and kissed him and he kissed her back pulling her against him. After the kiss, Satan, still holding her said, "I'm glad I was of help to you Kagura, but what shall we do to pass the time? Dinner isn't until later."

"Do you really need to ask?" Kagura whispered.

Satan's eyes went dark, and without a word swept Kagura into his arms and carried her to bed before the passionate kisses began again…

A couple of hours later, Kagura, still in Satan's arms turned to him, "Satan, you're pretty knowledgeable of magic, right?"

Satan looked at her with surprise, "That was pretty much out of the blue, I wouldn't call myself an expert on it but why are you asking?"

Kagura hesitated, remembering the strange spell book. "Can we sit up and talk?"

Satan nodded and they both sat up, putting some semblance of order to their clothes. He reached behind them and raised his pillow so both he and Kagura can lean against it.

"So why did you ask about magic?"

Kagura thought about it for a few minutes before replying, "I was in the Library doing some reading before you messaged me. While browsing the books, I came upon a strange spell book with a strange silvery seal. I took it off the shelf to see what kind of spell book it was but before I could read the title, it disappeared on its own. Is it normal for spell books to disappear like that?"

Satan went still, his eyes turning serious, "Spell books don't disappear on their own nor do we seal them unless they're ancient tomes containing ancient magic or forbidden magic. The Grimoire in the underground tomb is one of these ancient tomes. It has a seal on it because it contains forbidden magic. Do you remember that time when Lucifer became furious when he saw Luke holding it? You now know why."

Kagura nodded with a shudder, "I remember. It's kind of hard to forget. I was also nearly killed."

"That's because you were too reckless," Satan said bluntly.

Kagura nodded, abashed.

Satan sighed, "You need to think before you act. You were lucky that time. If it weren't for Lord Diavolo, you would've been dead. If you had died, I wouldn't have been able to bear it."

With that said, Satan held Kagura close and she leaned against him, feeling his strength, protection, and love. After a moment she said, "You mentioned that the Grimoire that lay in the underground tomb is one of the ancient tomes. Are there others?"

Satan nodded, "Two that I could think of, The Grimoire of Heaven and The Elemental Grimoire."

Kagura stilled as something resonated within her as she heard the name of the second Grimoire. Pushing it away to think about it later, she asked, "What is The Grimoire of Heaven not to mention The Elemental Grimoire? What kind of grimoires are they?"

Satan gave her a long look before replying, "I'm sorry Kagura but I can't tell you. I've already revealed too much. The only thing that I can tell you is that both Grimoires are the closely guarded secrets of the Three Realms. Only Lord Diavolo and Michael have the authority to reveal those secrets. Come now. Let me walk you to your room. Dinner would be ready soon."

Kagura opened her mouth to say something but Satan's look stopped her. She nodded but her mind was spinning with what he had told her. What secrets had she unleashed when she opened that spell book? Kagura thought. She knew that was something she must find out but now was not the time. Shaking away her thoughts, she got up and straightened the rest of her clothes, Satan as well, before he walked her to her room.

Once in her room, she sat on the edge of her bed, her mind whirling with all that she learned. What got to her most was Satan's revelation of the two Grimoires. What was the secret behind them? Based on the names, both are spell books with one that may have to do with Angel Magic because of the word, "Heaven" while the other Elemental Magic because of the word, "Elemental" but that was not enough information to go on. In addition, when Satan had said The Elemental Grimoire, something had resonated within her, almost like a strange awakening. Kagura shook her head, why did she feel as if she landed in one of Levi's RPG Games. She went still, Levi's RPG Games. Maybe Levi would have some answers regarding this. His characters often gain grimoires in-game and they always seem to be on a quest of some kind so maybe he knows something. Kagura could talk to him after dinner.

With that in mind, she stood up and was about to go down to dinner when she suddenly noticed a faint glow coming from the top of her bedroom dresser. Curious, Kagura walked toward it and froze. She stared in disbelief as the spell book that had disappeared from the Library somehow reappeared on her bedroom dresser. That was impossible, how? As she stepped closer, the spell book started glowing, a brilliant silvery white. With a gasp, she grabbed it trying to muffle the glow. If the others saw this, it would be a disaster. Just as she picked it up, the glow subsided and Kagura gave a sigh of relief. With the spell book back to normal, she glanced at the title and tried to read it. The language was ancient but something about it looked familiar. As she took a closer look, she stared in shock. The title read, Grimorium Elementum. If she remembered what little Latin she learned in language class at college, then the spell book was one of the three ancient tomes, The Elemental Grimoire.

"Grimorium Elementum," she read.

As she read the title, the grimoire suddenly floated into the air surrounding her in a silvery white light. As she was standing in the light, a sudden vision appeared. She saw an Ancient Battle involving Humans, Angels, and Demons; a mass of complete and utter Darkness filled with Evil followed by Destruction…A sudden loud knock snapped her out of her vision. With a gasp, she grabbed the floating grimoire and quickly stuffed it in her overnight bag just before Mammon entered telling her that dinner was ready.

Kagura nodded, forcing herself to look calm, "I'll be right down."

Mammon nodded then looked at her strangely before he left.

After he left, Kagura sat down trembling. What on earth was that vision?! It took her a while to calm down and quiet her pounding heart. When she was calm enough, she took out the Grimoire. It had gone back to normal. Why did it show her that vision? Was it trying to tell her something? What was that battle? Not to mention all Three Realms were involved in it. The questions whirled through her mind but no answers. She forced herself to shake away those thoughts. Now was not the time to think about it. Kagura started to return the grimoire to her bag before she changed her mind. The Grimoire must stay a secret for the time being until she figured out its secrets. Kagura looked at the grimoire and wondered how she could keep it hidden. As if the grimoire recognized her thoughts, it flickered and disappeared leaving her with the knowledge on how to call upon the grimoire and to conceal it. Kagura stared after the disappearing grimoire, knowledge on how to call upon and conceal the grimoire? This was even more like an RPG game, Kagura thought. She must talk to Levi.

After dinner, Kagura made her way to Levi's room. She knocked on Levi's door, "Levi, it's me, Kagura. Can I come in?"

The door opened and Levi peeked out, "Kagura? What are you doing here?"

"Do you mind if I come in? I need to talk with you."

Levi opened the door and motioned her in.

"Have a seat. I was just organizing my anime collection."

Kagura nodded and found a place to sit. A few minutes later, Levi joined her.

"You said you needed to talk to me?"

Kagura nodded, "It's probably strange for me to ask this but the MMORPG and RPG games you play, do your characters have grimoires? Or try to find grimoires?"

Levi looked at her, "That came out of the blue, but to answer your question, yes. However, only the mages have these items to learn new spells or to increase and strengthen their magical abilities. Other characters that use magic look for magical items to channel their magic or to strengthen their own magical capabilities."

"When the characters look for grimoires, are they difficult to find or are they difficult to get?"

"It depends on the rarity of the grimoire. If it was a rare or an ancient one, it would be difficult to find or get because they are in places that the character can't reach without information. They would also need special items and equipment to get to them. Not to mention fighting hordes of monsters."

Before Kagura could ask another question, Levi raised a hand to stop her. "Kagura, I'm glad you're interested about these things and I'm glad to tell you but I sense that there is something else behind these questions so spill."

"What?"

Levi sighed, "I may be an otaku but I'm not ignorant to what's going on around me. When you specifically asked about grimoires I knew there was something else behind your questions."

Kagura nodded. Levi was right.

"Okay. While I was reading in the Library yesterday, I came upon a strange spell book that carried a strange silvery seal but it disappeared before I could process what spell book it was. When I told Satan, he said that spell books don't disappear like that nor should they carry a seal unless it's an ancient tome of ancient or forbidden magic. The features of that spell book matches Satan's description so if I put all that together, then the spell book was an ancient tome, a grimoire. I don't know why it appeared before me then disappeared. I was hoping you would have some answers."

Levi stared, "Whoa…Did I hear right? A grimoire appeared before you then disappeared?"

"Yes. I'm as surprised as you are. These things only happen in RPG games."

Levi looked thoughtful, "My expertise on grimoires is limited to games. Grimoires you get in-game help the character out in battles but sometimes the grimoires they find is necessary for a quest. The grimoires can also play a role in defeating the evil at the end of the game. Maybe that grimoire appeared to you because it wants to tell you something or aid you in something. I don't know. I didn't think there would be other grimoires besides ours and those two…"

Levi went still and immediately shut up.

Kagura stared at him. The two he was talking about must be the two other ancient tomes Satan had mentioned. Levi's reaction was the same as Satan's. What secrets did these tomes hold?

"Levi?"

He quickly recovered and effectively changed the topic.

"Kagura, it's getting late. You need to return and I need to get to my anime marathon. I'll see you tomorrow."

Levi ushered her out then closed his door. Kagura looked at his closed door, her mind spinning. Levi had also been close-mouthed about the tomes like Satan. She had a feeling the others would be like that too. In order to find out the secret about the two tomes, it was up to her.

Early the next morning, after breakfast, Lucifer took Kagura to the portal. While they were walking to the portal, Lucifer asked where he should send her. Kagura thought about it for a few minutes, "The same place where we first went to the human world. I live close by."

Lucifer nodded then led Kagura to the area. As they arrived, she saw the crossroads with the split cobblestones where the portal was. Her mind flashed back to the time when she, Satan, Lucifer, and Mammon went to the human world through this portal to find the witch to break the curse on Satan and Lucifer. While in the human world, they found themselves caught up in a murder mystery when the witch they were looking for was killed. Together, she and Satan had solved the mystery with the help of the witch's ghost. As a boon, she broke the curse on Satan and Lucifer and they returned to normal. As a result of their adventure, Satan had changed and finally made some sort of truce with Lucifer. Returning to the present, Kagura's eyes went to the faintly glowing summoning circle covered in magical runes and watched Lucifer activate the portal. After the portal was activated, he pulled her into his arms and they both shared a goodbye kiss. When the kiss ended, Lucifer said, "Stay safe Kagura, until we meet again."

Kagura nodded, "Until we meet again," she echoed before stepping into the circle. As she entered the summoning circle, a swirling mist surrounded her and she disappeared. Lucifer watched his beloved disappear into the mist before silently wishing her good luck. With a sigh and a heavy heart, he returned to the House of Lamentation.

The dark figure rose from his dais as he looked into the mirror sitting beside him. They were here. He had waited centuries for them and the key they hold and now they're finally here. He must have that key and the other keys for his plan to come to fruition. That Man had long hid it and had told him so even as he fought until his dying breath. When he learned that it was hidden in a place He could never reach, He had been furious. All the centuries of planning had come down to nothing. Curse that Man, he who sealed him in the depths of Hell. The fool had thought that He would be sealed forever. Oh how wrong he was. As He lay in Hell, the negative souls within had fed him strength until a part of him had gained enough power to enter the Human Realm while his main body continued to lie dormant, feeding on more negative souls until He could fully resurrect. In the Human Realm, he had found the shell of that Man entombed in darkness and had taken control of it. What a fine vessel he made. He walked toward the Pentagram on the altar and chanted in a language long extinct and smiled. Seven dark figures flickered and appeared before him.

"Master, what is thy command?"

He smiled and told them.

"We shalt do as thou hast commandest."

"I know you will. Do not fail me my Seven Deadly Sins."
