Field of Screams - Part 1
It was a dark and dimly lit night with a crescent moon hanging over a lake, and boat drifted across the dark waters covered in fog. A horde of flying bats flew over the boat. Inside was a coffin with its lid creaking open and a woman with long hair and red lips sat up. The mysterious woman sat there in silent for a moment with a wicked smiled before a dark laugh escaped her lips...
"Ah" Jaden suddenly got up after waking up from that nightmare he just had. As soon as he sat up, he clutched his sides in pain.
"Jaden!" Syrus exclaimed from his seat next to Jaden's hospital bed. "Are you okay?"
"Oh man, weird dream." Jaden mumbled. "I saw a girl."
"A girl?" Syrus repeated.
"You must be feeling better if you're dreaming about girls." Miss Fontaine commented as she came into view.
"How is Nightchrou... I mean, Alexis' brother?" Jaden asked.
The Obelisk girls' headmistress turned to the right, where Alexis was sitting right next to her brother's bed with a solemn look on her face. "I'm afraid he hasn't woken up yet. But still, he's in stable condition."
When Jaden looked forward, he saw Andrew unconscious on another bed on the opposite side of the infirmary. He also noted Jenny who was sitting on a chair next to the blue-headed Ra, looking sadly at the bruises and burn marks he'd gained as a result of the attacks he took. "What happened to Andrew?"
The fairy duelist turned around to face the Slifer. "He got forced into a duel against another possessed student during the time you were knocked out." She explained, pointing to a bed right next to Atticus', where the unconscious form of Kaito Sherman was laying on. "He passed out right afterwards and haven't woken up ever since."
"Whoa!"Jaden gasped.
The infirmary door chose that moment to open and let Clover enter. "So is it true? Was Andrew forced into a Shadow Game?" She asked in an almost upset tone.
"Uh-huh." Jaden nodded. "He really took a beating." He said while pointing to his fellow HERO duelist.
Clover walked over to Andrew's bed and noticed the bruises and burn marks on his body. "Oh Andrew." She muttered with a sad look.
The girls notice him stirring a little. "…ngh… evil… woman…" He muttered in sleep before returning to unconsciousness.
The boat from Jaden's dream drifted silently on the dark water. The woman in the coffin looked ahead and raised her hand to the night sky. "Go, my minions!" She commanded as the bats flew away to do their bidding. "Find me my prey so that we can succeed where Nightshroud and Death have failed." She smiled as she held a thorny red rose to her breasts.
During the next day, a lot of rumors where going on among the classes and dorms.
"Hey, did you hear about the vampire?"
"Vampire?"
"Dude! I saw her with my own two eyes! Or at least... my roommate did. She's got these gigantic fangs!"
"Wait! Are you saying it's a she?"
"I am so not kidding! It's a girl vampire!"
"But she better stay away from my boyfriend!"
Out of all the students who heard the rumors, a certain girl was really curious about this. She had silver gray hair and red eyes and was wearing a black, sleeveless top with a collar, a matching black skirt,, knee-length socks and boots.
"Hmm." Mahiru hummed in thought.
The rumor became so popular, even Sheppard caught wind of it. Because of that, he called Shiori, Crowler, Zane, Michael, Bastion and Chazz to his office.
"Vampire!" Chazz freaked out.
"I'm afraid the rumors may not be rumors after all." Sheppard said.
"Seriously?" Shiori muttered nervously.
"Please! It's a practical joke." Crowler scoffed.
"A joke? It wasn't a joke that put Jaden and Andrew in the hospital." Bastion said seriously.
"And those Shadow Games they went through weren't a joke either." Michael added.
"Do you think she's a Shadow Rider?" Zane asked the Chancellor.
"Perhaps." Sheppard looked to his cohorts. "So listen, be on the lookout for anything strange."
The group nodded and left the office. Except for Crowler who had a nervous look on his face.
Later on, Chazz sat in his Slifer Red dorm room, his old Obelisk Blue uniform hanging on a hook nearby in plastic. He was going through the cards in his deck to rearrange it, in case this vampire lady came after him. "Let's see this vampire girl try to get the drop on the Chazz."
But unbeknownst to him, a bat was hanging from the rafters, looking down at himwith red glowing eyes.
At the same time, Bastion was going through his own cards, completely unaware of the bat watching him through the window.
And in another part of the Ra dorm, Shiori was sitting at his desk and rearranged his own deck. "Geez, a vampire? Those Shadow Riders are full of scary people." He failed to notice the bat watching him through his window.
"A vampire, huh? That's crazy." Michael muttered as he sat at his deck with cards spread out before him. "But then again, after what happened so far, we may as well expect Frankenstein as well." He failed to notice the bat peeking through his window.
In another part of the Obelisk boys' dorm, Zane was in his own room and rearranged his deck, unaware of the spying bat outside the window, just like the others.
"A vampire?" Crowler scoffed. "What's next? The Boogeyman?" He sat down at his office desk and wrote down some papers. "Who would believe something so ridiculous?" But just like his students, he's been watched by a bat.
Back in the infirmary, Alexis stood up from her seat and walked over to Syrus, who was still watching over Jaden. "How's Jaden?"
"He hasn't said anything since last night." He said sadly.
Alexis frowned slightly. "Oh…"
"How's your brother, Alexis?"
The Obelisk girl shook her head. "Pretty much the same. But he'll get better. I know it, he's a fighter, ya know?"
Syrus nodded. "I know."
Alexis then walked over to Jenny and Clover, who were still watching over Andrew. She turned to her closest female friend. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Jenny responded.
"And Andrew?"
"He's pretty much the same as Jaden." Clover responded softly. "From what you told me, he really took a beating."
"Yeah. Those attacks were intense. Watching him suffering like was just… just…" Jenny couldn't properly end her sentence due to the pain she felt of what her friend went through. Alexis placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Clover nodded and glanced down to her childhood friend. 'Seriously, Andrew. I know what you told me before, but still...'
What none of them knew, was that another bat had been staring at them.
In a large bathroom, lying in a bathtub, the vampire woman in question held out her left hand as one of her bats came flying in and landed on it. "My precious, what did you bring me?" Its eyes glowed red, at the same time as its mistress. Images of the key keepers appeared in her mind. "Ah, so this is our opposition. Hmm... who shall it be?" She then settled on a certain someone. Someone with dark blue hair and a stern expression. "You... you will be my first."
Later on, with Alexis, Jenny, Jaden and Andrew still in the infirmary, the other key keepers were standing before Sheppard in his office. "Good news, Chancellor." Chazz announced. "I've searched the whole campus and there's no…"
"VAMPIRE!"
Everyone turned to see Chumley running into the office with a frightened expression on his face. "I saw her! She's at the lake!"
The key keepers, minus four, followed Chumley through the forest for a short while, and arrived at the lake's edge, shrouded in fog while a crescent moon hung in the sky. A sleek red carpet rolled out from within the fog up to them. "I think she's expecting us." Bastion commented.
"At least it's the red carpet treatment." Crowler added.
"Crimson red." Zane noted.
"How fitting." Michael commented.
"What now?" Bastion asked.
"Now, we face her." Zane replied.
"Yeah, but who?" Chazz asked.
Crowler backed away from the lake, but Shiori noticed this and was about to place his hand on his shoulder. "Um, where are you…" But the moment he touched him, he couldn't finish his sentence.
"GAH!" And that's because his touch caused the blue headmaster to yelp and leap forward in fright and stand in front of the group.
"Oh wow! You are so brave." Chumley remarked.
"We'll be right behind you." Bastion said supportively.
"Yeah, by a good ten feet." Shiori added.
Crowler spun around. "Hey, I have an idea! Let's draw straws to see who goes. Now, where can we find some straws? Oh, never you mind. I'll find them, just don't follow me."
Michael walked up to him and gave him a stern look as he crossed his arms. "Sorry Doctor, but you're up."
"Syrus!" Chumley called out as he ran into the infirmary. "Dr. Crowler's gonna duel against the vampire lady!"
Syrus stood up from his chair. "Great, he'll beat her easy, right?"
"Wrong, Sy." Alexis disagreed. "Crowler may talk a big game, but he plays a terrible one!"
"He'll get creamed if this Shadow Rider is as tough any of the others." Jenny added.
"Damn." Clover cursed.
Eavesdropping on their conversation, Jaden looked at his friends, as he then heard a light hooting from his right, making glance at Winged Kuriobh who hovering right beside him.
Crowler stood in front of the others, facing the red carpet that lay above the lake's surface. He whimpered a little nervously.
"So Crowler…" Chazz spoke up, snapping him out of his whimpering. "What's the hold up?"
"If you're in such a hurry, why don't you go first?" He hissed.
It was then a strong wind came out of nowhere. The key keepers turned back to the lake to see the fog lifting, revealing a boat sitting at the other end of the carpet. A beautiful woman with long green hair stood on the boat, in a crimson red dress clinging to her like a second skin. She was also wearing a golden necklace with an eye symbol.
"Gentlemen. Why don't I just come to you?" She spoke in a Transylvanian accent. She stepped out of the boat and onto the carpet, water rippling outward with each step. When she reached the edge of the lake, she took one look at Crowler and scoffed. "And who might you be?"
"I'm your challenger." He answered in a nervous tone.
'Hm, I don't think so. I crave another...' She thought, glancing off the side to Zane. She then gave Crowler an uninterested look. "You are not worthy."
The blue boys' headmaster almost fell over and his nervousness was replaced by anger due to her words. "I BEG YOUR PARDON! I have a PhD in dueling! That takes nine years in duel school, ya know!?"
"Fine. If you're that anxious to lose your key, then you may duel me." The woman bowed her head. "Camula, vampire mistress of the Shadow Riders." When she looked up at the end of her introduction, her eyes glow red as a horde of bats appeared out of the fog.
"So she's the vampire." Shiori noted. "I wonder if she's Dracula's bride."
"Rubber bats and plastic teeth." Crowler said. "Your tricks don't scare me."
"Well then, perhaps this will. If you lose, I get your soul. Well actually, this little doll does." Camula held up a faceless faceless doll.
"You want to take his soul and the key?" Bastion asked in disbelief.
"No way." Michael protested.
Chazz scowled. "Forget it."
"Is that all?" Crowler asked with a smile, instead of being scared by the conditions. "Don't want anything for your mummy? Or perhaps something for your pet werwolf to chew on?"
Camula smiled widely and evilly. "Be careful what you wish for, it may just come true. Now then, key keeper, let's duel!" At that, both duelists took their positions. Camula activated her duel disk, which looked like some kind of bracelet at first glance, until it grew out bat like wings with spaces for playing cards.
As for Crowler's duel disk, it was kinda like a vest. The part that held his graveyard and deck slots was strapped to his chest, while the duel tray looked as though it was being held up like a guitar.
The two duelists drew their opening hands.
"Duel!"
Crowler: 4000
Camula: 4000
"So, key keeper, you don't believe in werwolves?" Camula asked as she drew her sixth card. "Well, perhaps this will convince you! Rise, Zombie Werewolf!" A gray werwolf with red eyes, shackles dangling from its wrists and wearing tattered green pants stood up on its hind legs. (ATK: 1200 DEF: 1200 LV: 4) "And I will end my turn with a facedown card." A card appeared behind the werewolf.
Crowler smirked. "Please, what do you take me for? Some sort of pathetic amateur? That facedown is obviously a trap, and that mangy fleabag is clearly the bait. But even so, I'll bite." He drew a card. "Because you've bitten off more than you can chew. First, I play spell card as Ancient Gear Castle. It gives all my Ancient Gear creatures 300 extra attack points." A large castle made of stone and metal chains rose up behind him.
"And second, I'll play the Ancient Gear Soldier in attack mode." The mechanical humanoid with machine gun emerged. (ATK: 1300-1600 DEF: 1300 LV: 4) "And now Camula, I think it's time we gave that filthy slobbering, mongrel of your his shots! Attack, Rapid Fire Flurry!" The soldier opened fire, shooting the werewolf tha howled in pain before it was destroyed.
Camula: 4000-3600
But for some reason, Camula seemed to be calm, despite the loss of her monster and her life points.
"I guess that Crowler is more of a cat person." Zane remarked.
"Nah, from what I've heard, he hates Pharaoh." Michael replied. "So if anything, he's an animal hater."
"That was fun!" Crowler exclaimed. "I should get out of the classroom more often!"
"On the contrary…" Camula spoke up. "You should study up. Then you'd know... my werewolf is coming back!" And true to her words, Zombie Werewolf returned and howled. But… (ATK: 1200-1700 DEF: 1200 LV: 4)
"But how?" Crowler stared at the beast.
"Ahh, the living. I forget the ignorance of a beating heart. When Zombie Werewolf is destroyed, I get to summon another from my deck, with 500 more attack points."
"And he... teaches us?" Chazz asked disbelieved.
Crowler heard the comment and tried to keep his cool. "Don't worry. Everything is under control. I place one card facedown. I guess it's your turn." He concluded and inserted a card into his duel disk.
"Why thank you." Camula drew. "And I summon Vampire Bat in attack mode!" A group of bats appeared before the joined together and became one giant bat. (ATK: 800 DEF: 1200 LV: 3) "And with my winged friend out on the field, every zombie monster I have out gains 200 attack points." The bat and werwolf were surrounded by a dark aura that gave them more strength. (ATK: 1700-1900) (ATK: 800-1000)
"Don't the three of you look so cute." Crowler taunted. "You know, if you had bags, you could go trick or treating!"
"The only treat will be your demise! Zombie Werwolf, go sic that Gear Soldier! Midnight Pounce!" The werwolf howled before it leapt and sank its teeth into the mechanical humanoid's arm, causing it to explode and send it back to Camula's field.
Crowler: 4000-3700
"Well, well. It would appear that your mutt still has some bite in him after all." Crowler commented. "No matter, I still have more life points."
"Perhaps, but not for much longer. Vampire Bat, attack with Swarming Scourge!" The giant bat split into smaller bats which flew towards Crowler and bit into him.
He was clutching his head in pain. 'I can actually feel their little teeth! This isn't some dueling hologram, this is real! And that can only mean one thing... This is really a Shadow Game too!' He then fell to his knees
Crowler: 3700-2700
Syrus, Chumely, Alexis, Jenny and Clover stayed in the infirmary, watching the PDA footage of the duel, while Jaden and Andrew still lay in bed.
"Crowler's taking a beating!" Syrus remarked.
"No, he can't!" Alexis said. "If Crowler doesn't win, he'll lose his key and soul!"
"What'll we do?" Jenny asked.
"Dammit!" Clover cursed.
Out of the two unconscious key keepers, Jaden chose that moment to open his eyes...
Once they were done with the assault, the swarm of bats returned to their mistress' field and turned back into a giant bat. Camula laughed at Crowler's predicament. "For rubber bats, they pack quite a wallop, don't they?"
The blue boys' headmaster gritted his teeth.
"Listen dear, you don't have to endure this. Step down and I'll duel that one in white." She glanced at Zane.
Chazz smirked at the person in question. "You hear that, Zane? It sounds as though you're her type."
"More like her blood type." Shiori corrected.
"So how about it?" Camula asked. "Give me your student, and I'll let you go free."
"As tempting as your offer is…" Crowler said and struggled to stand up again. "I don't think so! I won't let you lay a finger on my students! Do you understand!? I am the leading professor at the most famous dueling academy in the world! And if you want to get to my pupils, you're going to have to get through yours truly!"
"But you can barely stand!" Michael protested.
"Don't worry about me." Crowler turned to them with a smile. "I still have deck in my hand, and a few tricks up my sleeve. Like this for example…" His facedown card flipped up. "I play my facedown card, Damage Condenser! It summons a monster from my deck whose attack points are equal or less than the damage you've just inflicted on me. In order words, the more pain you deal, the more hurt you'll feel. Rise, Ancient Gear Soldier!" A duplicate of the first mechanical humanoid appeared. (ATK: 1300-1600 DEF: 1300 LV: 4)
"But he won't he around for long." He drew his next card. "I'll now sacrifice the Ancient Gear Soldier, so I can summon my own four-legged friend. The Ancient Gear Beast!" A wolf-like creature with a body made of the same old metal and gears like the other Ancient Gear monsters appeared. (ATK: 2000-2300 DEF: DEF: 2000 LV: 6) "And as you're about to see, he's well trained. Go, Ancient Gear Beast, show that Zombie Werwolf who's top dog!"
"Don't do it." Chazz warned him. "If you win, she'll bring back the werwolf all over again! Hello!"
Crowler turned to the group. "I appreciate the advice, but you're forgetting his special ability. Ancient Gear Beast cancels the effect of any destroyed monster."
"Clever calculation." Bastion commented.
"Yeah, smart move." Shiori added.
"Now, attack Zombie Werewolf!" The metal hound pounced onto the werewolf, making it yelp as it bit into its side, making it explode.
Camula: 3600-3200
Crowler laughed triumphantly. "If you'd like some help with your dueling strategy, feel free stop by my class."
"Maybe Crowler's lesson plans really do work." Chazz said.
"Quiet." Michael spoke up, smiling a it. "He'll only give us more homework."
"Nice move." Camula commented as she drew. "Pity you won't have many more. I cast the field spell Infernalvania!" A Transylvanian castle on the top of a cliff appeared in the distance behind her.
"But you'll destroy everything with that!" Crowler said, not believing that she actually played such a field spell.
"Exactly. By discarding a zombie monster from my hand, I can send every creature that is on the field straight to the graveyard."
Chazz grinned. "That's true. But don't you forget. By using that Infernalvania, you're not going to be allowed to normal summon your monsters anymore."
"So what? Who says I need any more monsters? Isn't that right?" She asked Crowler.
He glared at her. "Don't play games with me. I know all about that bat of yours."
"But do your students? Do they know my Vampire Bat can be made indestructible by simply discarding another one from my deck? Or did you skip that chapter?"
The onlookers gasped at the revelation.
"Oh dear!" Bastion exclaimed.
"But first, I'll discard one of my zombie monsters for Infernalvania." A purple-skinned man with blue hair wearing a dark suit and cape appeared briefly before disappearing as the castle glowed with a dark red aura. Both monsters exploded, though Vampire Bat left behind a bunch of flower petals. "And like I said, now I'll just discard another Vampire Bat to keep this one on my field." The petals came together and reformed the giant bat. "Now attack that good professor!"
Crowler was once again surrounded by the flock of the smaller bats. "No! Not again! I can't take much more of this!"
"He needs our help!" Zane said evenly.
"No! Stay back!" The Obelisk headmaster continued to protect himself. "This is my duel, and my duel alone." He looked at them, looking very worn out. "You must protect… your… keys!" He then fell flat on his face.
Crowler: 2700-1700
Everyone watched in horror as their comrade fell.
"Crowler, we can't just stand here and do nothing!" Zane called out.
Camula smiled and turned to him. "Yes, I completely agree with you, darling. Please, step in. Save your teacher, because obviously he can't save himself."
"Wrong!" A new voice yelled out. Every other key keeper turned around to see Syrus and Chumley coming up to them, the latter giving another person a piggyback.
"Jaden?" They said together.
He got off Chumley's back and leaned on Syrus' shoulders. "Dr. Crowler can win this duel!"
The man in question opened his eyes. "I know that voice… It's Slacker."
"I know because I've dueled him!" Jaden continued. "Believe me, he can throw down, and he'll find a way to beat you! So get up Dr. Crowler and get your game on!"
Hearing those words of encouragement gave Crowler the strength to get back onto his feet. He stumbled around before getting a good position. "I am not giving up!"
Camula smirked. "Oh? Are you still here?"
"You had better believe it! And here to stay too, missy! You see, though it makes me slightly ill to admit it... JADEN IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! I CAN BEAT YOU! I CAN THROW DOWN AND I CAN GET MY GAME ON!" He then gagged. "I suddenly feel the need to rinse my mouth out."
"Come on, it's not that bad, teach." Jaden said with a grin.
"Yes, perhaps." Bastion admitted. "But you know what is? His life points."
"It's true." Michael added. "To win, Crowler will need to mount quite a comeback."
"Now, let's duel." Crowler as he drew his next card. "I summon Ancient Gear Golem in attack mode!" His giant, mechanical ace monster rose on the field. (ATK: 3000 DEF: 3000 LV: 8)
"Check it! Crowler's best monster!" Chazz said, amazed.
"But where's the sacrifice?" Syrus wondered.
"It's on the field." Zane pointed out. "The Ancient Gear Castle. A very skillful move. See when summoning a monster with Ancient in its name, you can sacrifice Ancient Gear Castle. And it counts as the same number of sacrifices as however many monsters you've summoned so far." The castle in question disappeared.
"Now Gear Golem, attack Vampire Bat with Mechanized Melee!" Crowler's machine pulled its arm and threw a transparent fist at the giant bat, blasting it into pieces.
Camula: 3200-1200
Camula winced by the damage, but then smirked. "Did you forget that Vampire Bat can't be destroyed?" The named monster was reformed. "But as Infernalvania will demonstrate, your Golem can."
"I'm afraid you're mistaken." Crowler replied with a smirk, making his opponent widen her eyes.
"What's he gonna do?" Chazz wondered, being just as curious as everyone else.
"Oh... just destroy every tarp and spell card on the entire field." The blue headmaster held up a spell card. "Suffer the wrath of Heavy Storm!" A violent wind suddenly came into existence blowing away Camula's facedown card and reducing Infernalvania into dust. All that was left were the two monsters on the field.
"You must be quite a bore for your students." Camula said amused. "So predictable."
"Please, you don't know what you're talking about." Crowler scoffed.
Camula's jaw then dropped beyond further what most people could, at the same time, a thick tongue came out and a vicious pair of fangs could be seen. "Oh, don't I?! I activate the trap card Zombie Bed!" A trap card appeared on her field.
Crowler was taken aback by this. "You can't! I just destroyed all the trap and spell cards!"
"Which is exactly what I wanted you to do!"
"But why!?"
Zane gritted his teeth as he realized it. "Of course! It's obvious! In order to activate it... Zombie Bed has to... be destroyed!"
"Very good, my darling! And now that it has been, it's effect lets me summon back Zombie Werwolf in attack mode!" The werwolf appeared once again. (ATK: 1200-1400 DEF: 1200 LV: 4) "Thanks to your card, you're completely defenseless!"
The audience were stunned by this turn of events. "She knows Crowler's every move even before he does!" Chazz pointed out.
The vampire mistress chuckled as her face became normal again. "It's easy when you have a hundred flying bats spying on everyone." One of said bats landed on her right shoulder, its eyes glowing red.
Crowler gritted his teeth as Camula laughed triumphantly.
"It's over Crowler!" She drew a card. "I activate Book of Life! It resurrects my Vampire Lord!" The blue-haired vampire from earlier joined the bat and werwolf. (ATK: 2000-2200 DEF: 1500 LV: 5) "However, you can not give life without taking it away. So I'll be taking your Ancient Gear Beast from your grave so you can't use him again." The named card came out of Crowler's graveyard slot. "And now I'm removing Vampire Lord from play so that I can summon Vampire Genesis!" The blue-haired vampire disappeared and was replaced by a huge, purple beast with strange wing-like appendages on its back. (ATK: 3000 DEF: 2100 LV: 8) "And since Vampire Bat is still on the field, his attack points increase by 200." (ATK: 3000-3200)
Everyone watching this was disbelieved. Camula had Crowler in her hands. He had no cards left to play. Nothing to protect his Golem. The outcome was inevitable.
Realizing his end was near, Crowler turned to the audience. "My students! No matter what happens to me, always remember this… It's true, I may have been hard on you at times, but it's simply because I believe in you. Therefore, if I fall here, there's still hope! Cuz I know you all will rise!"
"Don't talk like that!" Zane snapped at him.
"It can't be…" Michael muttered in disbelief.
"Damn it!" Shiori cursed.
Jaden was conflicted as well, despite all the times Crowler tried to get him kicked out of the school. "This isn't good."
"Have you finished your final lesson yet, Crowler?" Camula asked.
He turned to her with an angry look. "Excuse me, but that's Dr. to you!"
The vampire laughed. "If you wish, I'll put it in your tombstone as soon as I'm finished! Vampire Genesis, destroy his Golem!" A purple mist emanated the purple beast , surrounded itself around the Golem and tore it into pieces.
Crowler: 1700-1500
"That all!? I thought that you Shadow Riders were supposed to be tough!"
"You want more!? Very well." Zombie Werewolf slashed Crowler with its claws, making him scream in pain.
Crowler: 1500-0100
"Tough enough? Here, try this as well! Vampire Bat, attack!" The blue headmaster was attacked by a swarm of bats... one last time.
"Dr. Crowler!" Jaden called out.
"Jaden... avenge me my boy…" With those words said, Crowler fell to the ground in defeat.
Crowler: 0100-0000
"His key is mine…" Camula said with a triumphant tone, while the holograms disappeared.
Chazz glared at her. "Nu-huh... No way…"
"Damn it!" Michael cursed.
"We can't stop her. Crowler lost the duel." Jaden pointed out.
The vampire mistress walked over, bent down, and took Crowler's spirit key from around his neck. It disappeared in a flash of light as she held it up. "One down, 9 to go. And now, darling children... to take my second prize…" She pulled out the doll from earlier, which began to glow with an eerie purple aura, along with Crowler's body. Evryone watched in horror as his body faded away while the doll transformed into a likeness of him.
"She put Crowler's soul in a doll!" Syrus exclaimed in disbelief.
"Dolls are pretty. This is decidedly not." Camula tossed the Crowler doll to the ground. "It's garbage now."
"That's it!" Jaden snapped and was about to step forward, but was stopped by an left arm belonging to Zane. "But Zane…"
The Cyber Dragon duelist stared long and hard atthe vampire.
Camula stared back with an amused look. "Now, I bid farewell." At those words, a large, dark castle appeared from the fog behind her.
"We'll find you!" Bastion declared.
"And duel!" Chazz added.
"Children, that's precisely what I'm hoping for…" Camula replied before disappeared in thin air, her cold laughter echoing into the night sky.
Unbeknownst to the remaining group, a certain someone had been hiding behind the whole thing behind a tree in the forest.
"I can't believe it." Mahiru muttered. She pulled out her deck with Vampire Vamp on top. "A real life vampire, and she's stealing their souls after beating them in a duel? Even I have to admit that's terrifying."
While she talked to herself, she failed to notice a bat dangling upside on a tree branch, staring at her from behind with glowing eyes...
Well well, 4 days since my last update. Never thought I'd be able to finish this chapter so fast... even if it's practically the same as the episode itself, with my OC's added to the mix. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it.
