Field of Screams - Part 2

The next day, thick dark clouds covered the sky over Duel Academy, which reflected the peoples' general mood after what happened last night. All the key keepers, plus Syrus, Chumley and Clover, were gathered in the infirmary. And right now, they were listening to Jaden's ranting.

"I'll play a trap, and then I'll play a spell and then I'll attack!" He declared, still in bed. "Well, just as soon as I get better I will. Camula's gonna get it sooner or later. I mean, taking that spirit key is one thing, but Crowler's soul too?"

Speaking of Crowler, Chazz was the one who had his doll form, holding it with his hand.

"Jay... you really oughta rest." Syrus told him from his bedside.

"Sy's right, Jaden." Shiori agreed. "After all, if we're not at our best, it's our souls that will be sealed in those dolls and our bodies will be…" He gulped. "I don't even want to think about that."

"The worst part is, since Camula was able to take Crowler's key, she needs just nine more to unleash those Beast cards." Bastion reminded them.

Alexis glanced at her unconscious brother worriedly. "And then it won't just be our souls at stake, but everyone's in the world."

Jenny and Clover were sitting at Andrew's bed, watching his unconscious form. "Not exactly a good thought." Clover muttered.

"That's it!" Jaden exclaimed. "I'm dueling her! Tonight!"

"You duel? Think again." Chazz pulled the bed sheet over Jaden's head. "You can't even win a fight with a sheet. This duel is for the Chazz."

"Hold on. Hold on." Jaden said before he pulled the sheet back over his head, freeing himself. "There! I won!"

"You did not! It's two out of three!" Chazz stated and pulled the blanket over Jaden's head again.

"Come on, Jaden! You can do it!" Syrus encouraged his friend.

"Look, Jaden's not up to snuff. One of us is gonna have to face Camula."

"And by us you mean you, correct?" Bastion asked. "I'm sorry Chazz, but I'm not entirely convinced that you're the man for the job. I should go."

"You?"

"Okay, we won't be able to stop Camula if we're gonna argue like this." Michael stated.

"A-almost got it." Jaden muttered under the sheet. "Man! What thread count is this?"

"Shut it!" Chazz snapped, turning to his fellow Slifer.

"Sure…" Jaden stopped fighting. "I need a break."

Jenny stood up from her seat. "And what we need is to work together! Protecting the keys and getting Crowler's soul back is all that matters!"

Everyone else agreed to her, while Jaden sighed and gave up. "Alright, alright. I'll sit out. Until I get better."

It was then that Syrus noticed Zane leaving the infirmary without a word. Thinking it was odd, he followed him outside. "Hey Zane. Wait up!" The older Truesdale stopped and glanced at him. "Hey! Big Bro? Didn't we just decide to work together? Where are you going? What gives?"

Zane gave him a slight smile before he walked down the hall. "If all that matters is protecting those keys and rescuing Crowler, you know where I'm going."

Syrus watched his brother walked away. And not just him. A bat was hanging outside the window and watched this.

Meanwhile, inside the dark castle, Camula was laying in her bubble filled bathtub. Her eyes were closed until they opened when the image of Zane appeared in her mind. "The one I crave is coming." She said before she blew some bubbles out of her hand. "And I'm ready… hm?" She widened her eyes a little when another image appeared. The image of a certain goth girl. This made Camula smile. "Well well…"

Mahiru was back at the lake, staring at the dark castle from a distance. Ever since Crowler lost his duel against Camula, she's been pondering on the whole situation. As a vampire enthusiast, she never thought in her entire life that she would ever see one. And it was really scary. Especially since this particular vampire had the power to seal a person's soul in a doll. And the worst part is she was after the others. Mahiru couldn't let that happen!

She reached into the right pocket on her skirt and took out a small silver cross with a red gem in the middle. A cross was one of the weaknesses of a vampire. She was going to need it if she was going to confront the vampire. "This is it. I can put an end to this." Mahiru said with determination as she walked on the red carpet leading to the castle. After a while she reached a wooden door that creaked open before her. That made her form a firm expression on her face. "She knows I'm here." She entered the castle, with her cross ready.

While keeping her eyes open, she went up some stairs and walked through a torch lit corridor. 'This castle is quite scary-looking here on the inside. Almost like in the vampire books.' Mahiru mused. 'This would have been fascinating, if it wasn't for the seriousness of this whole thing.'

Eventually, she reached a large room with chandelier hanging in the middle of the ceiling. Also, on a higher level was a walkway going all around the room with a balcony on either end. Mahiru glanced around while holding the cross close to her chest. "Now, where can she be hiding?" She asked herself.

She started to walk again, only to be surprised as a horde of bats flew out from nowhere and attacked her. "Ah! What the…!? Get lost!" She was so shocked by this assault that she accidentally dropped her cross while trying to swat the bats away. After a few seconds, the bats flew away. Mahiru exhaled. "That really startled me. Should have known that a horde of bats would be hiding in here." She then noticed the cross she dropped, laying on the floor in front of her. She bent down and was about to grab it... when suddenly, a white towel fell down and landed on the floor, surprising Mahiru. "Huh?"

"Young lady. You should know better than trespassing someone's home." A female voice spoke from behind in a Transylvanian accent, causing Mahiru to freeze. She took a moment before she mustered some courage and turned around. And then, the first thing she saw... was a pair of red glowing eyes. And then, everything went dark...

Back in the infirmary, Jenny and Clover were still sitting next to Andrew's bed, while Alexis sat close to her brother's, and Syrus and Chumley hung around with Jaden, who was currently awake and simply relaxing. Shiori was just leaning against the wall, staring at his fellow Ra student.

"Oh Andrew." Clover muttered. "This is so wrong! What was Chancellor Sheppard thinking when he involved you guys in this?"

"I don't think he could think of any other way to deal with this." Jenny replied, her sad eyes still focusing on Andrew. "And to be fair, we chose to protect the spirit keys. He didn't actually forced us into this."

Clover stood up and turned around to look at the unconscious Kaito Sherman, who was resting on his own bed. "I know! But this war... Our friends end up getting hurt. All because of those damn Shadow Riders. So why? Why did it have to be this way?" She then glared at the former Shadow Rider. "And why keep those people here!?"

One hand was placed on her shoulder, causing her to turn around and face Jenny, who gave her a stern look. "Because, for your information, those were possessed by dark forces. They have been missing for a long time since they mysteriously disappeared at the abandoned dorm. They never wanted to do this." Jenny then glanced at Alexis, making Clover follow suit. "Can you even imagine how worried their families have been? How would you feel if someone you cared about disappeared and became possessed?"

Clover stared at the blonde Obelisk girl, who stared at her unconscious brother with sad eyes. After a moment, she lowered her head, feeling ashamed. "You're right. I'm sorry." She then glanced at her childhood friend. "I just…"

Jenny looked at her with soft eyes. "It's okay. I know how you feel. It's not easy to see him like this." She then smiled. "But one of the good things about him is that he always gets back up, no matter how tough the situation is. I'm pretty sure you of all people should know that."

Clover couldn't help but smile as she nodded. "Yeah."

Shiori smiled and nodded in agreement.

"Ngh…"

Both girls turned around and saw their friend stirring a little. His eyes then blinked open and he turned his head from right to left, taking in his surroundings.

"Huh?"

"Andrew!" Jenny exclaimed.

"You're awake!" Clover added.

"How are you feeling, buddy?" Shiori asked.

"Oh, hey guys. I'm okay." Andrew greeted with a smile as he tried to push himself up. But he only managed to prop himself on his elbows. "Although, it seems I'm still roughed up…"

Whack!

And then, to his surprise, Clover slapped the top of his head.

"Ow!" He turned to her. "What was that for?"

He expected her to respond with words. But instead, she surprised him with a hug. "You idiot! You get yourself taken away by a Shadow Rider, facing him in a Shadow Game, and almost lost your soul? You're such an idiot!"

Andrew blinked at her words, but he then patted her on the back. "Sorry about that."

Normally, Jenny would get jealous at this, but she was so relieved that Andrew woke up that she didn't care.

"Glad to see you're awake." Jaden said from his bed.

Clover let go, letting Andrew turn to the Slifer. "Hey Jaden. I see you're better yourself."

"You bet I am."

"So, did I miss anything?"

That question caused Andrew's friends to frown, realizing that he didn't know about the current situation. The one who spoke up, was Shiori. "Well, you see…"

And so, they took a few minutes to explain to him what happened. The arrival of the vampire, Crowler facing her in a duel and lost, and his soul getting sealed away in a doll.

"Are you serious!?" Andrew asked in disbelief.

"Trust me, I really wish I was joking." Jaden replied.

Andrew didn't like this at all. "This is insane!" He then struggled to get up. "In that case, I'm…"

"Not going anywhere!" Jenny and Clover said firmly as they both pushed against his chest so that he laying flat on the bed.

"You're still hurt since your duel against Death." Jenny pointed out.

"So instead of making it worse for yourself, you're going to rest and let the others handle this situation, is that clear?" Clover asked sternly.

"I'd be listening to them if I were you." Shiori added.

Realizing he had no arguments there, Andrew sighed and relaxed in his bed. "Okay. I'll rest."

Meanwhile, at the Slifer dorm, Chazz was sitting on his bed and rearranged his deck. It was quite peaceful, that is until his annoying, yellow duel spirit showed up and flew up to his face.

"Hey! Long time, Boss! How's things?"

As a response, Chazz smacked Ojama Yellow into a flat TV screen. "They were fine, until you showed up." He muttered.

"Oh, and now things are great, right?" The yellow spirit phased through the TV and approached his master. "Thanks Boss. You always know how to make me feel good. So what are you doing? Arranging your deck? Can I help?"

Chazz smacked the duel spirit once again. And this time, he flew across the room and landed on the Crowler doll that on the desk nearby. "Hey! Fragile here!" Said a familiar voice coming from the doll. Ojama Yellow heard it and got curious as he began to check on the doll. "What are you doing!? Stop!" The doll protested before it laughed when the spirit tickled it. "No, stop it! Stop!"

The duel spirit turned back to Chazz. "Boss! This doll's alive!"

"What?" The Slifer walked over to the desk and picked up the doll.

"Would you mind easing up on the grip a tad!? You're wrinkling my coat!"

"Oh yeah. That's Dr. Crowler, alright." Chazz said. He then turned to the window when heard a flapping sound. He walked over then pulled the curtains aside, revealing a horde of bats flying in the distance. Upon seeing this, he headed out. "It's starting again!"

Bastion caught sight of the bats and rushed out of the Ra Yellow dorm, duel disk and deck at the ready.

Michael noticed the bats as well, left the Obelisk boys' dorm immediately. "She's back!"

"Run!" Jaden ordered as he climbed onto Chumley's back.

"Aww, running?" The Koala duelist complained.

"Actually, piggybacking." Syrus corrected.

"Whatever it is, let's get a move on!" Alexis said. "Because I have a feeling that vampire is about to bite again."

"And I have a feeling who's next on her list." Shiori added.

"Am I really going to stay here?" Andrew asked, not wanting to be left behind.

"Sorry Andrew, but you're in worse shape than Jaden." Jenny reminded him. "You really need to rest."

Andrew sighed. "Fine."

"And I'll stay here, in case you try anything stupid." Clover added, sitting right next to his bed.

"Then let's go!" Jaden said.

All the key keepers, minus Andrew, joined up at the lake, with Zane taking the lead as they all stepped onto the red carpet and headed to the castle.

"Explain to me again why we're going to this place." Chumley complained. "Instead of running away from it? Or walking away?" The others ignored him and continued until they reached a large wooden door that creaked open for them, revealing some stairs. "Aww, now we gotta do stairs?"

They went up the stairs and walked through a torch lit corridor. "Can't I just drag Jaden instead of carrying him? It'd be easier on my back."

"Quiet." Zane said evenly as they walked. "We're close."

After a short while of walking, they reached a large room with a chandelier hanging in the middle of the ceiling. Also, on a higher level was a walkway going all around the room with a balcony on either end.

"Ah, right on time." A familiar voice called out. Zane, as well as the others, looked up and saw Camula come into view, standing on one of the balconies. "Looking for me?"

"You bet we are!" Jaden answered angrily. "We want Crowler back!"

"Got that right! So hand him over!" Chazz demanded.

"Yes, or else…" Bastion threatened, joining them.

"I have no interest in little schoolboys." Camula said uninterested.

"She must mean you." Bastion said, turning to Chazz.

"No! She means you!"

"Can you two just cut it out!?" Shiori asked annoyed.

"Are you ready, darling?" Camula asked, addressing Zane.

"Let's duel." He replied.

"Good luck, bro." Syrus said fearfully.

Michael placed a hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, Sy. Your bro is our number one duelist. He got this."

Zane made his way up to the balcony at the end of the room across the one Camula was standing on.

"Let us review. If you win, you get Crowler's soul back and I'll be on my way. But if I win…" Camula held up a small blank doll. "I get your soul, your spirit key and I get to continue my quest to unleash the three Sacred Beasts." Zane didn't say anything. He merely activated his duel disk. Camula did the same, her disk growing bat wings for the card zones.

"Duel!"

Zane: 4000

Camula: 4000

"I like to lead." The vampire drew her sixth card. "I summon Vampire Lady in defense mode!" A green haired woman with pointy ears, pale skin and wearing a purple dress appeared and kneeled down before her. (ATK: 1550 DEF: 1550 LV: 4) "And I'll lay one card facedown. That's all." A card appeared behind the defending vampire.

"Really? Shame." Zane said as he drew his next card, looked at it and then held it up. "Because it won't be enough to protect you from what I have planned."

The other key keepers gasped when they saw what he had.

Camula narrowed her eyes. "Playing Powerbond?"

"It allows me to fuse machine type monsters. And I have the perfect three in mind! My Cyber Dragons!" The three named, mechanical serpentine dragons appeared. "Now unite and form the almighty Cyber End Dragon!" The three dragons merged together and combined into Zane's three-headed ace monster. (ATK: 4000 DEF: 2800 LV: 10)

"Zane summoned his most powerful monster on his very first turn!" Alexis pointed out, while the others gasped.

'Wow! That's not like Zane.' Syrus thought to himself. 'He usually feels out an opponent before throwing Powerbond. It's almost like he's just using it, instead of playing it.' He gave his older brother a worried look. 'I hope he knows what he's doing.'

"My I like your aggressiveness. But Powerboond has its risks." Camula reminded him. "Are you certain you can handle all the consequences?"

"She's right." Chumley said. "At the turn's end, he'll take damage equal to Cyber's original attack points, and that adds up to 4000 big ones."

"That's true, but since Cyber End Dragon can deal piercing damage, that may be a risk worth taking." Jenny added.

"And on top of that, due to Powerbond's effect, its attack points are doubled." Shiori added. (ATK: 4000-8000)

"8000 points!" Camula gasped, visibly surprised by the dragon's high attack strength.

"I don't think I'll have to worry about consequences after this turn. Now attack Vampire Lady! Super Strident Blaze!" The large metal dragon roared before its three heads shot out a blast of energy from their mouths, which combined into one huge energy stream.

"Forgetting my facedown!?" Camula shouted as she revealed the card in question. "I play the trap, Red Ghost Moon! Now, darling, by discarding one zombie in my hand to the graveyard, your monster's attack points are added directly to my life points, and our little battle ends right here and now!"

Zane gritted his teeth as the trap card protected Vampire Lady from the attack. Once the dragon's attack was cancelled, Camula laughed as she was surrounded by an orange aura.

"That's 8000 points, plus the 4000 I had, giving me a total of 12000!"

"Wrong!" Zane interrupted, holding up a certain spell card. "I activate the spell card De-Fusion, disassembling Cyber End Dragon and leaving you…"

"With absolutely nothing." Bastion filled in. "Red Ghost Moon's target is gone so its effect is cancelled."

"My points!" Camula exclaimed as the aura disappeared before her life points could increase. The Cyber End Dragon disappeared and was then replaced by the three Cyber Dragons. (ATK: 2100 DEF: 1600 LV: 5) x3

"Hey, know what else?" Syrus asked with a smile on is face. "Now that Powerbond is gone…"

"He won't have to pay points for using it." Chumley said.

"Now that's playing a card! Huh Sy?" Jaden commented.

"Yeah."

"I'll end with one facedown." Zane concluded.

Camula chuckled. "Oh, my darling, I see now why you're ranked the top duelist at Duel Academy."

"Actually, you haven't seen anything yet." Zane replied.

"Well I hope not. Zane dear, precious, we've only just begun this duel. And I expect to have a lot more fun with you."

"Aww man. I don't think I'm gonna like her kind of fun." Syrus said nervously.

"Now then, shall we?" Camula drew her next card. "First, I'll sacrifice Vampire Lady to summon Vampire Lord!" The defending woman disappeared as the blue-haired man in dark suit and cape took her place. (ATK: 2000 DEF 1500 LV: 5) "Next I'll sacrifice him to summon Vampire Genesis!" The blue-haired man disappeared and was replaced by the horrid, purple vampire behemoth that took down Crowler's monster the night before. (ATK: 3000 DEF: 2100 LV: 8)

"Yikes!" Michael said.

"Ugly." Chazz commented.

"Scary." Syrus added.

"Darling Zane, I promised you some fun, didn't I? And now we'll have it. Are you excited?" Camula asked. But the only reply Zane gave her was the firm stare and silent treatment. That made her scowl. "You're such a bore! Well maybe this will rouse you! Vampire Genesis, attack!" The purple behemoth glowed with a purple aura.

"As fun as this is, I'm afraid that I'm going to have to interrupt it with my facedown card…" Zane revealed the card in question. "The trap, Attack Reflector Unit!"

"A trap?" Camula mused before she noticed one of Zane's Cyber Dragons glowing.

"One that's evolutionary. You see, Attack Reflector Unit evolves my Cyber Dragon into the Cyber Barrier Dragon!" At that, the dragon transformed into something new. A creature that resembled Cyber Dragon, but around its neck, it had a bulky collar, outlined with small electrodes. (ATK: 800 DEF: 2800 LV: 6) "And when the Cyber Barrier Dragon is in attack mode, once per turn, its special power allows me to negate the attack of your monster. So your Vampire Genesis' attack can go right back to where it started!" The dragon's collar stretched out and activated the electrodes. Together they created a plasma barrier. And it was at that moment when Vampire Genesis turned itself a flow of crimson mist that tried to strike down Zane's monster. But the Barrier Dragon was able to use its plasma barrier to block the attack, causing the mist to return to Camula's field and turn back into its original form.

"How dare you!?" She glared at Zane.

"Your bro's got game." Jaden commented, turning to Syrus. "No wonder he beat me. Though it was close."

"Yeah."

"It's my turn." Zane drew. "And I play Pot of Greed. This lets me draw two cards from my deck." He drew his extra cards, and then, he revealed one of them. "Next I activate the spell, Photon Generator Unit. Now, by sacrificing my dragons, I can summon the Cyber Laser Dragon!" The two Cyber Dragons disappeared in a flash and were replaced by a new dragon. It had a longer, sleeker, and more silver body than the others, but it had a round-tipped tail for a laser. (ATK: 2400 DEF: 1800 LV: 7)

"Another form of the Cyber Dragons than fusions?" Shiori noted.

"Who would have thought Zane could pull off something like that?" Jenny wondered.

"And with Cyber Laser Dragon," Zane spoke up again. "once every turn, I can destroy one monster that has equal or more attack or defense points than Laser Dragon's attack points."

"I bet you talk to all the girls like that." Camula mused.

"No. Just ones I really don't like. Now, Laser Dragon, let loose Blue Lightning Lash!" The tip of the dragon's tail opened up and shot a beam of blue energy that struck Vampire Genesis and destroyed it. "And now go ahead and attack her directly! Blue Lightning Blast!" The dragon opened its mouth and shot out another energy beam that struck Camula, causing her to scream in pain.

Camula: 4000-1600

"Oh, and don't think I forgot Cyber Barrier Dragon. Attack! Sonic Shriek!" The other dragon cried out and released a shockwave that was strong enough to push Camula into the wall.

Camula: 1600-0800

"Alright!" Syrus cheered.

"That's exactly the move I would have made." Chumley bragged.

"Sure Chum. Totally... in your dreams!" Jaden said jokingly."

Getting his confidence back, Syrus looked at his sibling. "So, now you can see why my brother's never lost, huh guys? Still, mom says I've got the looks."

"Uh…" Was all everyone could say to that.

Back in the infirmary, Clover and Andrew watched the duel over the PDA. And they were of course glad to see Zane taking the lead.

"Yes! he almost got it!" Clover said.

"Got that right." Andrew replied. "He's just one attack away from winning this duel. Camula is finished!"

"I'll place one facedown and end my turn." Zane concluded as he inserted a card into his duel disk.

Camula rose to her feet slowly before she spoke up. "Darling, you do realize you're forcing me to reveal my ugly side?" And while she drew her next card, her face became just as horrifying as it was when she dueled Crowler. "You see?"

Zane didn't react as much, but he didn't like this at all.

"And it's only going to get uglier." She declared before she held up a spell card. "I play Illusion Gate!" A stone door and archway rose up from the floor behind her.

"Illusion Gate?" Zane repeated, looking at the door confused.

Clover and Andrew felt the same.

"What on earth does that do?" Andrew questioned.

"I don't know." Clover said.

"Uh oh. I've never heard of it." Jaden said. "You guys know what it does?"

"No." Bastion answered.

"Not me." Chazz said

"Same here." Michael added.

Shiori frowned. "I think we're about to find out."

"Behold!" Camula announced as her face returned to normal. "First, this spell card destroys all monsters on your field!" The doorway then opened wide, let out a foul wind and blinded everyone with a bright light that destroyed the two dragons. "But that's not all. It has twin functions." An exact copy of the vampire appeared next to the original. "You see, this card also allows me to summon any monster you've used during this entire duel."

"What?" That statement made Zane's eyes widen.

"So, even though you de-fused Cyber End Dragon after only one turn, you did use him during this duel."

Zane scoffed. "Oh please. No card is powerful enough to let you make a move like that. There must be some kind of catch."

"Yes, but it's just a tiny one. After using Illusion Gate, should I happen to still lose this duel, I must sacrifice a soul to the Sacred Beasts."

"That all?" Bastion questioned.

"Well good!" Chazz said. "It's what you get for taking Crowler's!"

"Beg your pardon? I said a soul, not my soul. You see, in the shadows, It's all the same to the Sacred Beasts…" Her eyes moved towards to the smallest person in the group. "Syrus…"

"Huh!?" His eyes widened.

"Oh yes, those beasts will find your soul to be a tasty treat, I'm sure."

Zane was now shocked, realizing what she was going to do. "Syrus! Run!"

"Oh no you don't!" Before the others could react, the Camula clone flew down to them and grabbed Syrus.

"Syrus!" Michael sreamed as he and some of the others tried to stop her, but she was too fast and returned to the balcony, holding him close to her.

"Sy…" Zane called out.

And for some reason, Syrus seemed to be getting weak. "Sorry Zane."

Andrew and Clover were shocked at this.

"What the hell!" The red-head exclaimed.

"Oh no!" Andrew gasped.

Camula laughed again. "And now, I summon the almighty Cyber End Dragon!" Zane's most powerful monster rose up on Camula's field, but its body was ghostly. And then, Syrus cried out as a green aura surrounded him and drained his energy to the three-headed machine.

"Sy!" Zane called out.

Due to the energy that transferred into its body, Cyber End Dragon became solid. (ATK: 4000 DEF: 2800 LV: 10)

"Whatever will you do?" Camula asked tauntingly. "I have your best monster and your little brother. Actually, I suppose they're really one and the same now. After all, if you manage to to do in the Cyber End Dragon, you'll also be doing in little Syrus' soul. So as I said, whatever will you do?"

Zane glanced at his facedown card. 'The facedown card on my field is Call of the Haunted. If I use it to resurrect Cyber Barrier Dragon, I can stop that Cyber End Dragon and win the duel. Camula will be defeated. We'll be that much closer to keeping the world safe from those Sacred Beasts, and in exchange, we just lose one soul... my brother's. The choice is clear.'

"So, what is it going to be?" Camula asked. "Save the world, or save your brother's soul? Which also means losing yours.

Syrus looked up and spoke up as loudly as he could, though he was still weak. "Go on, Zane... Do it. You have to."

Zane was surprised by his words.

"My soul is a small prize to pay, to stop Camula. After all, if she wins this duel Zane, she'll get your spirit key. And you know what that means. The Shadow Riders… They'll be that much closer to freeing those Sacred Beasts. Besides Zane, if one of us has to go down, it might as well be me. Sure I may have gotten the looks, but the truth is, you got just about everything else. The skills, the smarts… everything. Anyway big bro, it's alright. I mean at least this way, I'll be remembered for something other than just being your little brother. This way Zane, I'll be the one who's the hero, the one who saves the day…"

Zane remained quiet as he noticed a tear falling from his brother's eyes.

"After all, we both know I wouldn't have never been able to do it by dueling. It's just like you said, I never belonged here."

It was then that Zane looked at his brother with a kind expression on his face. "I did say that Syrus. But since then, you proved me wrong. You do belong here."

Syrus lifted his head.

"I love you Syrus. Never forget it.

"Zane…"

"I'll miss you little bro. Farewell…" Zane lowered his arms. "I stand down!"

"Zane! What are you doing!?" Syrus asked in shock.

"So be it!" Camula replied. "Cyber End Dragon, destroy him!" The three-headed dragon fired a combined blast which struck its own master.

"Zane, no!" Jenny screamed.

"Stop! Take me!" Syrus pleaded.

Zane: 4000-0000

"It can't be!" Clover said in disbelief.

Andrew looked in horror. "No!"

Zane's spirit drooped from his neck and disappeared as he fell to his knees. The holograms disappeared, along with Camula's double, letting Syrus free. "Big Brother!" Zane's eyes became dull and dark while Camula pulled out the faceless doll, which was then surrounded by a dark purple aura. The same happened to Zane's body, which disappeared as the doll became a likeness of him. Upon seeing this, Syrus fell down on his knees in despair.

"Oh no." Jaden muttered.

"At last, darling, you're all mine. A tad smaller and a bit less talkative... but a darling trophy nonetheless…" Camula said as she caressed. She then disappeared in a swirl of dust, her laughter echoing the room. The room was then filled with dense mist...

And when it dissipated, the key keepers, plus Syrus and Chumley found themselves at the edge of the lake again.

Syrus was on his knees, staring at the castle with tears coming from his eyes. And for a very good reason. "Just like that… he's gone…"

Everyone looked at him, all of them saddened by the school's number one duelist, who sacrifice himself for the sake of his little brother.

It was then someone lowered himself right next to Syrus. "That's it!" The smaller Slifer turned to that person.

"Jaden?"

"You hear me? No more, Camula!" He yelled. "I'm through with you messing with my friends! Got that!? What you did to Crowler, to Zane... it stops here! And I'm gonna be the one who stops it!"

"Jaden…" Alexis muttered.

"Sure, I may not be up to snuff, but I don't care!" Jaden clenched his fist. "I'm taking you on! And one way or another, I'm getting our friends' souls back!"

"About time!" The Crowler doll said from Chazz' pocket.

"Camula!" Jadne stood up and shouted before grabbing his chest in pain. "Camula, here I come! So get set to get your game on!"

Inside the castle, Camula was sitting on a comfy chair in dark room. Her eyes were closed as she chuckled. "Trust me, boy, I'm all set... in more ways than one…" Her eyes opened and glowed red. At that moment, another pair of glowing eyes could be seen at a dark corner behind her. They belonged to a figure who was dressed in black.

And that's that. Until next time.
