Sibling Rivalry
It was another morning at Duel Academy. It was quite peaceful here on the island... well, except at the Slifer Red Dorm.
"Aaaah! I can't take it anymore! The Chazz shouldn't live like a Slifer Rat!" The black clad Slifer sat up on his bed. "I used to be an Obelisk Blue! Jacuzzi tub, turndown service... a week of renovations and this place still isn't livable!" His bed was so big it took up most of the dorm he got since his return to this school. The room also contained a couch and a plasma TV. The rest of his belongings was still unpacked in several boxes littered all across the floor.
While Chazz was having his breakdown, Ojama Yellow popped out of his deck case. "Hey Boss. You sound stressed." He flew up to Chazz's shoulder. "Oh yeah, just look at all this pressure building up."
"You!" Chazz snapped at him. "If you wanna be helpful, get lost!" Those harsh words caused the yellow spirit to cry loudly, letting the tears fall. He flew around as Chazz tried to swat him. "And, if you wanna see pressure..." He managed to hit the spirit by smashing his palms together, causing him to disappear. "Alright, finally. Some peace and quiet..."
"What's up?"
Chazz yelped in surprise and turned to glare at Jaden, who was standing at the entrance, along with Syrus. "Ever hear of knocking!?"
"We did, but... your door is way over there." Syrus answered while pointing to the unbolted door which was laying against the wall near Chazz's open entrance.
That statement caused Chazz to form an embarrassed look on his face, which Jaden and Syrus laughed at. The embarrassment was quickly replaced by annoyance. "Not funny."
"Yeah, I guess not." Jaden said. "So let's go for fun." And without hesitation, the two red clad Slifers quickly took off their shoes, jumped over the couch and started jumping on Chazz's bed while he was unwillingly bouncing along with them.
"Hey! Get off my bed! It's not a trampoline!"
"By the way..." Jaden spoke up.
"...the Chancellor..." Syrus continued.
"...wants to see you!"
That made Chazz forget about all his frustrations, despite being still forced to bounce around. "Sheppard? What for?"
"Oh, just something about the fate of Duel Academy."
Meanwhile, Andrew was sitting on one of the benches close to the path leading to the main entrance. He was wearing a dark blue t-shirt, black shorts and white running shoes. He drank some water from a bottle he had with him. "Phew! That hit the spot. Nothing beats some cold water after an exercise." He said to himself.
"Good to see you're keeping yourself in good shape." A familiar voice spoke up.
"Oh hey Jenny..." He turned to see her, along with someone else. "And... Clover?" He added, almost not used to how she looked nowadays.
Clover used to wear red. But since she became an Obelisk Blue, she's wearing on Obelisk uniform. However, she wasn't wearing the female version. She was actually wearing a male version. The one that is blue with white linings. She was still wearing her ripped jeans, and with her Obelisk uniform unbuttoned, a red t-shirt was revealed. Andrew noticed her hands, and noted that she was wearing blue, fingerless gloves. Come to think of it, Andrew haven't realized it until recently, but Alexis always wore the same kind of gloves. But only when she was dueling.
"Hi, how are you doing?" Clover greeted.
"Peachy." He simply said. He then eyed on her uniform. "I still don't understand why you would wear a boy's version of the Obelisk uniform."
Clover shrugged. "What can I say? I feel more comfortable in this. Tomboy, remember?"
"Fair enough." Jenny said while forming an amused smile on her face. "Although, you didn't look so bad when you tried the girl uniform."
"Can we just drop that?" Clover asked almost annoyed.
"I'm serious. I know you're a tomboy, but in my opinion, you look quite good when dressed in something more feminine."
The redhead almost blushed. "I-I guess."
Andrew started to imagine Clover dressed in a girl's uniform. He couldn't help but blush at that thought.
Clover noticed this. "Hey, Andrew. What's with that look?"
He snapped out of his musings and gave his best assuring look. "Oh, it's nothing."
Clover seemed to notice his tone and leaned towards him with narrowed eyes. "Did you just picture me wearing a girl's uniform?"
He flinched and tried to be as convincing as he could. "N-no, I didn't!"
Clover leaned closer. "Andrew..."
As she watched this, Jenny couldn't help but puff her cheeks in anger. But that reaction was short lived when she suddenly noticed Jaden, Syrus and Chazz walk towards main entrance. "Oh, hey guys!"
"Hey, what's up?" Jaden greeted back, getting attention from Andrew and Clover.
"Oh, hey Jaden." Andrew greeted. "It's quite rare to see you three walk together."
Chazz scoffed. "Please! It's not like I asked those losers to come with me."
"Then where are you guys heading to?" Clover asked.
"To Sheppard's office." Syrus answered. "Apparently, he wants to see Chazz."
"Sheppard? Why?" Andrew asked.
"Like we told Chazz, just something about the fate of Duel Academy." Jaden replied.
The Ra and Obelisk girls were getting really curious now.
The gang arrived at the Chancellor's office, where he was sitting behind his desk. Banner was there as well, sitting on a couch against the wall with Pharaoh on his lap.
"I have some urgent news, Chazz." Sheppard spoke up.
"Finally, my new bed arrived?" Chazz asked.
"Cool!" Jaden grinned. "What do you say we go jump around on it?"
Clover turned to him and raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
"This isn't about your living arrangements." Banner answered.
"Yeah? Then what?" Chazz asked.
Sheppard's face fell a little. "Well... someone is trying to... buy out the Duel Academy. And this someone plans to get rid of all the teachers and students and shut this place down forever.
"Shut it down!?" Chazz repeated.
"No way!" Jenny gasped.
"But why would they do that?" Andrew asked.
Sheppard folded his hands and leaned forward into his desk. "Without us, they could control... the entire dueling world. But fortunately, our owner has given us a sporting chance...
Flashback
An intimidating man in a white trench coat stood in his office, with his back to the two men in suits who wanted to buy Duel Academy. "You heard me right. It's not about the money, it's about the cards. I will only sell you my academy if you prove your worth as a duelist, and beat one of my students in battle."
Flashback end
"It comes down to one duel." Banner stated.
"Let me! I'll whoop this guy!" Jaden said, determined to beat whoever this business creep was.
"No! The duelist is already chosen." Sheppard explained.
"Well, who's it gonna be?" Clover asked.
As a response, the Chancellor turned to the duelist in question. Jaden, Syrus, Jenny, Andrew and Clover followed his gaze and saw who he was talking about.
"So it's Chazz?" Andrew asked.
"For some reason, they asked for him specifically. " Banner said as he got up and walked over to a TV screen on the wall with Duel Academy logo, where a loud beeping noise was heard. "I believe this is them now."
"On screen." Sheppard ordered.
"Yes." Banner then pressed a button on the controls below, and everyone was surprised to see two familiar faces appear on the screen.
"It's Chazz's brothers!?" Syrus piped up.
"That figures." Jaden muttered.
"Not those two again." Clover said bitterly, still remembering how unfairly and cruelly they treated their younger brother.
"Lousy scrubs! What are you up to!?" Chazz demanded.
"Come on, Chazz. Don't you know?" Slade asked. "Jagger?"
"Same thing."
"Complete world domination!" They both said.
"Remember?" Slade continued. "It was our little family project."
"Your project, maybe." Chazz retorted.
"Yeah, well now it pretty much has to be, huh Chazz?" Slade snapped at him.
"That's right! Because you couldn't pull your weight!" Jagger agreed. "You couldn't conquer the world of Duel Monsters like we'd planned. So now, Slade is just gonna have to do it for you."
"So I'm dueling Slade?" Chazz asked.
"You'll take him easy, Chazz!" Syrus encouraged.
"Totally." Jaden added. "I mean, Slade's just an amateur. You guys had better rethink your business strategy, this one stinks!"
"No it doesn't, because there are a few conditions." Slade explained as he showed a briefcase full of rare Duel Monsters cards. "First, I get to use all these rare cards. The same rare cards we gave you to use in the School Duel. Of course, you refused to use them, and you lost! And there's one more thing Chazz..." He closed the briefcase. "...During our duel... you're only allowed to duel with monsters that have less than 500 attack points!"
"What the...!?" Chazz glared at them.
"500!?" Syrus gasped.
"You can't be serious!" Andrew glared at the older Princetons.
"This is a joke, right?" Jaden protested. "Say no, Chazz!"
"It's too late!"
Flashback
"Very well." The owner of Duel Academy spoke. He looked over his shoulder, with his brunette bangs covering his eyes. "I accept those terms. Now leave."
Flashback end
"So, it's already been decided." Slade said.
"It can't be." Jenny said worriedly.
"This isn't fair!" Clover protested.
"No it's not." Slade replied. "But then that's the point!" With that said, the older Princetons laughed triumphantly before the screen turned off.
"Guess we should go pack up." Chazz said before turning and leaving.
"Chazz, wait!" Andrew called out.
"Hold up, you can win this!" Jaden encouraged him.
"For real!" Syrus added.
"Yeah, you can take those two down!" Clover stated.
"You're wrong. There's no way I can." Chazz before going out through the door. "Duel Academy is through."
For some reason, the news spread through the entire school. And as a result, the students talked about it. As he walked through the hallway, he heard some of the things they said.
"This is terrible!"
"There's Chazz!"
"This whole mess is totally his fault!"
"I heard that he's already accepted defeat."
"Of course he had. He probably wants his brothers to win."
"We should've never let him back here!"
"Yeah, totally."
"Well, you know what I think?" Jaden's voice spoke up.
Chazz turned around and saw him standing behind him, a calm, but serious look on his face.
"I think you're all dead wrong! I know Chazz can win this duel! Because I've dueled him myself! And duelists don't come much tougher!"
"What he said!" Andrew agreed.
"Yeah." Jenny and Clover added.
Chazz scowled. "Yeah, I know! That's exactly the problem, Jaden!"
"What's that mean?" Jaden asked.
"Honestly Chazz, you're not making any sense." Bastion commented as he, Alexis and Shiori came up to him.
"Bastion's right." Alexis said. "Being tough is usually a good thing, Chazz."
"At least in my book." Shiori added.
Chazz lowered his head. "Look, it's..."
"It's about Chazz being too tough." Zane explained as he and Michael joined them all. "Specifically his deck. It's about... Chazz not even being able to duel."
"What do you mean?" Syrus asked.
"What he means is that Chazz's deck isn't built with monsters that have less than 500 attack points." Michael replied.
Jaden looked at Chazz. "Wait, so then..."
"My cards are all too powerful." The black clad Slifer said. "Cuz of that condition my bros set up, my deck is useless. All I got left... is him." He held up his Ojama Yellow card, earning disbelieved gasps from all the students around him.
"That might be a problem." Andrew muttered.
"You think?" Clover asked sarcastically.
"What? Just him? You can't make a deck with one card!" Jaden stated.
"He may not need to." Everyone turned to around to see Banner sitting nearby on a stairway, holding Pharaoh. "This is but a rumor. But given the circumstances, it may be worth investigating. Now, supposedly, my students... deep in the woods, it's a very old well. And within this well, lay a great many cards. You see, they were discarded there by duelists who believed them too weak to ever use in their decks. Of course, the spirits of all those cards are quite angry for being left behind."
"Oh yeah? Well the Chazz has a feeling they're going to be perking up real soon. Cuz I'm gonna find that well and enlist some new monsters for my deck!"
That announcement earned him some cheers from the students.
"You're the man, Chazz!"
"Alright!"
"You go Chazz!"
Later on, Chazz was walking down a dirt path in the forest, a backpack over his shoulder. He was hoping to do this alone, but...
"Hangin out with the crew in the schoolyard. Yeah! Finding trouble never..."
"Ya know..." He turned and glared at the singing Jaden, who's been walking behind him along with Andrew. "You guys don't have to follow me everywhere."
"I just want to see the rumored well." Andrew replied.
"And someone have to make sure you won't get jumped by angry duel spirits." Jaden added. "I mean, the whole Academy is counting on you, Chazz."
"Gimme a break." Chazz turned around and started to walk again. "Like Banner said, it's probably just a rumor any..." He was interrupted when a half dozen pearly white, ghost-like creatures appeared in midair, floating around them while moaning loudly. "...or not."
"Whoa! Those things really don't look too friendly." Jaden commented.
"Please, they're harmless. Look..." Chazz scoffed. Three of the ghosts floated downward and passed through one of the boys each, although they didn't feel any pain.
"Huh?" Andrew blinked.
"Nothing happened." Jaden said.
"Course not." Chazz replied. "Remember, these are weak spirits. Kinda like the annoying roommate I got crashing in my deck." The trio ignored the angry spirits and kept walking. Some time later, they came to a clearing where they found the remains of an old well.
"Oh, look! There's the well!" Jaden pointed out.
"What tipped you off? The big hole in the ground?" Chazz asked sarcastically. Once they reached the hole, Chazz pulled out a rope ladder from his back pack and tied it to a trunk before throwing down to the hole. The trio climbed down and reached the bottom, which was like a big cavern. And they could see a BIG number of cards laying around on the stone floor.
"Check out these cards." Jaden said, looking around.
"I can't believe that people would just throw them away without a second thought." Andrew added.
Chazz kneeled down. "It's like Banner said."
"You could build a weak deck in no time with these." Jaden said.
It was at that moment that two duels spirit popped out of their respective cards. They were rather small, wearing matching red bikini briefs. One of them was black with a chubby body, sharp teeth, and a nose large enough to dominate most of his face. The other one was green with a muscled body, a single eye in the middle of his forehead and long tongue sticking out of his mouth.
"In case you knuckleheads haven't notice, this is private property!" The black spirit pointed out.
"Yeah, that's telling them!" The green spirit agreed.
"What?" The boys said in unison and turned to the spirits.
"Numbskulls like you ditched us here, so... we don't want ya here!"
"Yuk, yuk, yuk, yuk, yuk, yuk!"
"These two... are a few cards short of a deck." Chazz noted awkwardly.
"Hey!" The black spirit shouted, glaring at him. "Who are you calling short, Chowdahead!?"
"Yeah!" The green spirit added with a glare.
"Listen, we didn't leave you here, but somebody did, cuz you're mmphh...!" Chazz unable to finish his sentence because Andrew stepped in and covered his mouth with one hand.
"What our insensitive associate here is trying to say is; We're not here to cause trouble. We came here to ask you guys for help."
The two spirits blinked. "Us? Help?"
"That's right." Jaden nodded. "You see, there are some bad guys who are trying to kick us all out of Duel Academy and shut it down, forever."
"However, we were given one chance." Andrew continued. "Chazz here has been chosen to duel one of those guys. If they win, then it's goodbye Duel Academy. But if he wins, then the school is safe."
Chazz managed to get Andrew's hand away before he spoke up. "However, there is a catch. Those scrubs forced me to agree to duel them with a handicap. During our duel, I'm only allowed to duel with a deck full of weak monsters."
"Oh?" That got the small spirits attention.
Chazz continued with a smile. "And this is where you guys come in. We're going to get you out of here, add you to my deck and..."
"NO! Don't listen to those humans!" A new voice yelled out, sounding like a girl. Everyone turned around and saw the source of that voice. It was another duel spirit. It was a short, green eyed girl with green hair tied to a short, messy ponytail. She was wearing a brown robe with a white shirt and short, black skirt underneath, and brown boots. She was holding a silver staff with a green gem at its tip. Everyone could see the anger in her eyes. "Humans can't be trusted!"
"But Wynn, we can finally leave this place." The green spirit tried to reason with her.
The black spirit nodded. "Yeah! Those bozos need our help. At least we can..."
"NO!" Wynn interrupted. "You can't listen to the human scums! They don't want weak monsters like us! Once they see us useless, we'll be abandoned!"
Andrew approached her slowly with a frown on his face. "We get it. Someone left you here because you don't have many points or strong effects. However, there is no such a thing as a useless card. A good duelist knows how to make a good use of even the weakest card in the game. I promise, not all people are as awful as those who..."
"SHUT UP!" Wynn yelled loudly. "No more lies! Stop lying to us! I know you are just like other humans! They're all the same! Treating us like trash!"
Andrew was startled by her outburst, but didn't back down. "You're wrong. There are..."
"NO! MORE! LIIIIIEEEEESS!" With that out, Wynn raised her staff, letting its green gem glow. And then, to everyone's surprise, other spirits showed up and circled around her, until they moved so fast, they formed a dome of light, which blinded them all. Once the light faded, the three duelists looked forward... and none of them expected this. Wynn was standing before them, glaring daggers at them. But that didn't surprise them. What really surprised them... was that her body became solid!
"Whoa!" Jaden exclaimed.
"What the...?" Chazz stared at her in shock.
The black and green spirits hugged each other in fear. "Wynn is angry now!"
Andrew was speechless. He didn't know duel spirits could join together to make one of them solid.
"Now..." Wynn approached boys slowly, pointing her staff at them threateningly. "Leave this place or suffer the consequences!"
She was about to take another step before another spirit came out of nowhere and blocked her path. A certain figure with a crimson red cape. "Enough!"
"Phantom Magician!" Andrew gasped.
"I won't let you hurt my master or his friends!" The spellcaster declared.
Wynn's eyes widened in surprise. "Your master?"
"Yes. Andrew is my master. I've been with him for a long time. And believe me when I say this: He has a duelist's good heart and trust in his cards, wether they're strong or weak. The same thing goes for the many friends he made. They believe in their cards. It doesn't matter how weak they are, their duelists trust them and make them great assets. As for you..." The magician looked into Wynn's eyes, seeing the pain and betrayal in them. "I can tell that you were abandoned by someone very despicable. But, whoever left you here, not all people are like that person. Believe me, there are people like Andrew who value their cards, no matter the strength they possess:"
Wynn's eyes softened a little as she let his words sink in. But after a short moment, she shook her head with her eyes closed. "You're wrong! There's no way duelists would care about us! Time and time again they abandoned weak cards like us here, for one dumb reason or another!"
Phantom Magician lowered his head. "Well then, if words can't convince you, then there's one way to do it..." He turned around and faced his master. "Andrew."
"Hm?" He looked at his duel spirit. They stared at each other, almost like they had a mental conversation. And then, Andrew gave him a determined look and nodded. "Right." He then turned to Wynn. "If you think all duelists believe cards in your standard are useless, then you're wrong."
"Huh?" She blinked.
"And I'm going to prove it to you..." Andrew picked up his duel disk. "...in a duel!"
"A duel?" The girl repeated.
"That's right. Since you don't like us humans so much, then this is how it's going to be. If I win, then we get to take any monster who wants to leave here. But if you win, then we'll leave this well forever."
"What?" Chazz looked at him incredulously. "Are you serious!? And I thought Jaden was dumb!"
The Slifer in question smirked. "Hey, I think he's got this."
Wynn scoffed. "So that's how it's going to be, huh? You're going to try and force everyone out of here after overpowering me with your strong cards! Despicable human!"
"You're mistaken." Andrew replied, making her confused. "Like I said, I'm going to prove that weak cards aren't useless. Therefore, I'm going to duel you with a handicap. During our duel, I will only summon monsters with up to 1000 attack points."
The two Slifers widened their eyes at his declaration. And so did Wynn.
"Um, Andrew, are you sure about this?" Jaden asked.
"Positive." He replied as he took out his deck and prepared it before inserting it into his duel disk. "That's exactly what I'm gonna do."
Wynn scoffed again. "Do you expect me to believe that you would do such thing."
"Does that mean you accept my challenge, or don't you have the courage to try and punish us for trespassing?"
That seemed to hit a nerve on her? "Why you... fine then! I'll duel you! When this duel is over, you're going to regret for stepping a foot in here!" Wynn raised her staff as it glowed before it started to wrap around her left arm. And then, when the light faded, it took the form of a duel disk. Both duelists drew their opening hands.
"Duel!"
Andrew: 4000
Wynn. 4000
"Don't think you can impress me by dueling with your 'handicap'. I draw!" Wynn drew her sixth. "I summon Petit Dragon in defense mode!" A small, green serpent dragon with wings appeared. Its cute face didn't make it look so threatening. (ATK: 600 DEF: 700 LV: 2)
Jaden smiled at the creature. "Hehe! That's a cute little fellow."
"A monster with only 700 defense points?" Chazz scoffed and crossed his arms. "Guess girly is using the weak monsters here."
"I end my turn with a facedown." A card appeared at Wynn's feet.
"Then here goes." Andrew drew. 'I could bring out one of my heavy hitters. But I promised her to bring out weak monsters. She'll learn that there are duelists who rely on them.' He nodded and made his move. "I summon Elemental HERO Shadow Mist in attack mode!" The woman in black armor rose up on his field. (ATK: 1000 DEF: 1500 LV: 4) "Now attack her Petit Dragon!" The woman dashed forward.
"I activate my trap! Human-Wave Tactics!" Wynn's facedown card flipped up. But that didn't stop Shadow Mist from punching the dragon, shattering it to pixels.
"I end my turn with a facedown." A card appeared at Andrew's feet.
"And this is when Human-Wave Tactics activates." Wynn said. "For every level 2 or lower normal monster that was destroyed in battle this turn, I can summon another one from my deck. So now I'll let Archfiend Marmot of Nefariousness take Petit Dragon's place!" The monster that appeared in the dragon's place was a marmot with a white horn and a pair of purple wings. It was gnawing on an acorn. (ATK: 400 DEF: 600 LV: 2)
Andrew raised an eyebrow, wondering what Wynn was planning.
"My move!" Wynn drew. "I summon Skull Servant!" The marmot was joined by a skeleton in purple robes. (ATK: 300 DEF: 200 LV: 1) "And then I activate the spell card Back-Up Rider! This card gives a monster 1500 attack points for one turns." The skeleton glowed with an eerie purple aura. (ATK: 300-1800) "Now attack his Shadow Mist!" The skeleton released a purple mist from its mouth, which swallowed the black armored heroine, leaving nothing left.
Andrew: 4000-3200
"And now it's time for my marmot to..."
"Not so fast!" Andrew interrupted as he revealed his facedown card. "By destroying my monster, you allowed me to activate Hero Signal. Now I can summon an Elemental HERO that is level 4 or less. And I choose Elemental HERO Woodsman!" The green-skinned, wooden hero appeared and kneeled down. (ATK: 1000 DEF: 2000 LV: 4) "And there's more. Since Shadow Mist was sent to the graveyard, I can take a HERO monster from my deck and add it to my hand." Andrew took the card of his choice from his deck and placed it in his hand.
Wynn huffed. "Don't think you make me see things differently with that. I switch my marmot to defense mode and end my turn." The marmot crouched down. (ATK: 1800-300)
"Okay then." Andrew drew. "I summon Elemental HERO Knospe in attack mode!" The little plant hero appeared next to the wooden hero. (ATK: 600 DEF: 1000 LV: 3) "Then I'll switch Woodsman to attack mode." The named hero stood up. "Now Woodsman, destroy Skull Servant!" The wooden hero punched the robe wearing skeleton, shattering it into pixels
Wynn: 4000-3300
"And next I'll use Knospe's special ability. She can attack you directly! Go, Seed Blast!" The plant monster fired seeds from her buds, which exploded at Wynn's feet, making her yelp.
Wynn: 3300-2700
"And since Knospe's direct attack was successful, she gains 100 attack points while losing 100 defense points." (ATK: 600-700 DEF: 1000-900) "And that's all."
"Hey, this duel is getting good!" Jaden said excited.
"More like lame." Chazz retorted.
Wynn glared at her opponent. "This isn't over! I'll use Human-Wave Tactics to summon a new monster! Meet the monster known as Boo Koo!" In Skull Servant's a place, an open book appeared. It seemed to have gloves and shoes, but no limbs. (ATK: 650 DEF: 500 LV: 2) "And now..." She drew her next card. "I summon Hourglass of Life!" The hourglass that appeared was full of red sand and had a crescent moon on top, and a pair of angel wings. (ATK: 700 DEF: 600 LV: 2) "Then I'll switch Marmot to attack mode." The marmot rose up. "And then I activate Thousand Energy! This gives all level 2 normal monsters 1000 attack points!" Wynn's three monsters were surrounded by white energy. (ATK: 400-1400) (ATK: 650-1650) (ATK: 700-1700)
Andrew's eyes widened. "Uh oh."
"Now Archfiend Marmot, attack his Woodsman!" The marmot threw its acorn at the wooden man, making him explode.
Andrew: 3200-2800
"Boo Koo, attack his Knospe!" The hands of the book flipped a few pages, before it glowed and fired a golden beam of magic that destroyed the plant monster.
Andrew: 2800-1850
"And now I'll attack with my Hourglass of Life!" The winged hourglass flew up and unleashed a light bright enough to force Andrew and the others to cover their eyes.
Andrew: 1850-0150
"Then I'll end my turn with a facedown." Wynn inserted a card into her duel disk. "And because of the effect of Thousand Energy, all monsters affected by it are destroyed." All her monsters shattered into pixels.
"Wow! Wynn is not holding back. What a sweet move!" Jaden commented.
"I guess it was pretty okay." Chazz said.
Andrew smiled at his opponent. "See, this just what I've been trying to say. A good duelist knows how to make a good use of weak cards, just like how you and I did so far."
Wynn blinked at his words, before she huffed, crossed her arms and turned her face away. "This changes nothing. I know that humans are cruel and heartless."
Andrew frowned. 'Guess I need to push her further.' He drew a card and looked at it. It was his duel spirit. He smiled and placed the card on his duel disk. "I summon Phantom Magician in attack mode!" The skeletal spellcaster appeared. (ATK: 600 DEF: 700 LV: 3)
"I never thought I would be allowed to get offensive." The duel spirit mused. "You're not regretting for dueling with this handicap?"
"I made up my mind, partner. Now, how about you launch an attack on Wynn?"
"My pleasure!" The magician pointed his staff toward Wynn.
"I don't think so! I play Graceful Revival!" Her facedown card flipped up. "With this trap card, I can summon a level 2 or below monster back from my graveyard. So welcome back, Hourglass of Life!" The angel winged hourglass appeared again. (ATK: 700 DEF: 600 LV: 2)
Phantom Magician lowered his staff. "I'm afraid I can't beat that monster."
"Don't worry, you'll get your chance." Andrew assured him. "I end my turn."
"I'll give you no chance!" Wynn drew. "First I activate White Elephant's Gift. This lets me send a non-effect monster to the graveyard and draw two cards." The hourglass disappeared as Wynn drew her extra cards. "Next I play Pot of Greed, allowing me to draw two more cards." She drew more cards and looked at them. She nodded and activated on of them. "And now I activate the spell, Soul Release. With this, I can take up to 5 cards from the graveyard and remove them from play. And I think I'll remove all 5 of my monsters." The cards in question came out of her graveyard slot.
"Huh?" Andrew blinked.
"So she's removing all of her monsters?" Chazz asked while raising an eyebrow. "What a waste."
"What gives?" Jaden wondered.
"I activate the spell card, Spell Economics!" A card appeared on her field. "With this in play, I can activate spell cards without paying life points. And now I play Dimension Fusion!" Wynn held up another spell card. "By paying 2000 life points, I can summon monsters that are removed from the game. But thanks to Spell Economics, I don't have to pay anything."
The academy students gasped at the revelation.
"Now it's time for all of my monsters to return!" From a dimensional portal, all monsters she played so far returned to the field. (ATK: 600 DEF: 700 LV: 2) (ATK: 400 DEF: 600 LV: 2) (ATK: 300 DEF: 200 LV: 1) (ATK: 650 DEF: 500 LV: 2) (ATK: 700 DEF: 600 LV: 2) "Now everything is set! I activate The Law of the Normal." Wynn held up the last card in her hand.
"What is that?" Chazz asked.
"I don't know?" Jaden shrugged.
Andrew narrowed his eyes. "What does that do?"
"I can only activate this card when I have 5 normal monsters that are level 2 or less. And since that's the case..." Wynn paused as she smirked. "All cards in our hands are sent to the graveyard, and all the level 2 or lower normal monsters remain on the field while everything else is destroyed!"
Andrew gasped as the cards in his hands disappeared before he heard Phantom Magician groan in pain before he shattered into pixels. "No, Phantom Magician!"
"Don't act like you care about him." Wynn scoffed. "Like I said, no human cares about weak monsters like us. There's no way that's gonna happen. That being said, it's time to end this duel! Everyone, attack!" Her monsters flew forward, intending to strike Andrew down.
But suddenly, an electric barrier surrounded him, causing them all to halt.
Wynn's eyes widened. "What!? Where did that barrier come from?"
Andrew smirked as he held up a card. "From this. Electromagnetic Turtle. When your spell card forced me to get rid of the cards in my hands, including this one, you gave the defense I needed to stop your attack. By removing my turtle from play, I can end your battle phase."
Chazz smirked and crossed his arms. "What do you know? Looks like girly messed up there."
"Nice one, Andrew!" Jaden cheered.
Wynn scoffed. "Lucky move. Since I have nothing else to play, it's your turn. Not that it matters. Since you're playing with that so called handicap, you will most likely draw something too strong to play."
Andrew smirked. "Maybe, but I have faith in my cards, so I believe I'll be able to play my next card." At that, he drew and looked at the card he got. He smiled. "Alright! Looks like I drew Elemental HERO Bubbleman!" The blue-armored hero with white cape appeared. (ATK: 800 DEF: 1200 LV: 4)
Wynn gasped due to the luck of the draw Andrew had.
"If this monster is the only card in my hand, I can special summon him. And if I have nothing else in play when he's summoned, I can draw two cards from my deck." Andrew drew his extra cards. "And look at this..." He held up one of them. "Legacy of a Hero. If I have at least 2 level 4 or higher Elemental Heroes in my graveyard, I can draw 3 more cards." And he drew again. "Next I summon Elemental HERO Avian in attack mode!" The green hero with feather wings appeared next to Bubbleman. (ATK: 1000 DEF: 1000 LV: 3) "And now I play Monster Reborn! And with it, I summon Phantom Magician back from my graveyard!" The skeletal spellcaster appeared again. (ATK: 600 DEF: 700 LV: 3)
"Nice of you to bring me back." The magician said.
Andrew smiled. "I told you that you'd get your chance."
Wynn was just staring as the duelist and duel spirit interacted with each other.
"Now for a triple attack! Phantom Magician, the first strike is yours!" The spellcaster nodded as he pointed his staff at Skull Servant and fired a beam of purple magic at it, blowing it up.
Wynn: 2700-2400
"Now Bubbleman, attack!" The water hero fired a stream of bubbles from his cannon, destroying the Marmot.
Wynn: 2400-2000
"And now Avian, your turn!" The green hero flapped his wings and shot a flurry of feathers, making Boo Koo. That caused Wynn to raise her arms defensively.
Wynn: 2000-1650
"I play two cards facedown and end my turn." Two cards appeared at Andrew's feet.
Wynn recovered from the attack and glared at him. "You'll pay for that." She drew her next card and looked at it. "I play a facedown monster in defense mode." A facedown card appeared next to the serpent dragon and hourglass. "Then I'll switch my two other monsters to defense mode and end my turn." They crouched down.
"In that case..." Andrew drew. "...I'll let Avian and Bubbleman destroy your Petit Dragon and Hourglass." The water fired another stream of bubbles, while the wind hero shot feathers, creating a combined attack that destroyed the dragon and hourglass. "And that's all."
Wynn drew her next card. When she saw what she got, she smirked. "Perfect, this just what I need to put you down, human scum."
Andrew widened his eyes, not liking this at all.
"Now I reveal my facedown monster..." The facedown card flipped and glowed. And then, to everyone's surprise, Wynn disappeared. Their attention was focused on the glowing card, which was now enveloped by a light pillar. Eventually, the light died down. But when it did, they were all shocked to see Wynn standing in the card's place.
"What the...!?" Chazz exclaimed.
"No way!" Jaden gasped.
"Did you just summon yourself!?" Andrew asked in shock.
"That's right." Wynn replied smugly. "You're about to feel the wrath of me; Wynn the Wind Charmer!" (ATK: 500 DEF: 1500 LV. 3) "And if you think placing myself in attack mode was a mistake, then think again! Because my flip effect activates. As long as I remain on the field, I get to control your wind monster."
Andrew gasped as he glanced at the monster she was referring to.
"Now Avian, come to me!" Wynn raised a hand, making a green, magic circle appear in the air. Avian's eyes glowed green as he slowly approach her.
"This is bad." Phantom Magician stated.
"Tell me about it." Andrew said.
"It's about to get worse, because now I activate Shield Attack!" Wynn inserted the named card into her duel disk, causing a green aura surround her. "Thanks to this equip spell, my attack and defense points are switched." (ATK: 500-1500 DEF: 1500-500)
Andrew gritted his teeth.
"You have lost! It's time for you to leave this place! Now Avian, attack his Bubbleman!" At Wynn's command, the wind hero flew forward, raising his claws.
"I activate my trap!" Andrew interrupted and revealed one of his facedown cards. "Blast with Chain! By equipping this card to my monster, I can give him 500 attack points." Bubbleman glowed with a blue aura. (ATK: 800-1300) And just when Avian was about to strike, he aimed his cannon at hit and blasted him with a bubble stream.
Wynn: 1650-1350
"No way!" Wynn exclaimed.
"Do you still believe in your claims?" Phantom Magician asked, getting her attention. "Do you still believe that all humans would treat cards like you like trash? I'm pretty sure know the answer. My partner knows how make his cards valuable assets, no matter how weak they are. And more importantly, he respects his cards. And so do other duelists."
Wynn's eyes softened for a bit, letting the words sink in. But those eyes then hardened in anger. "You're wrong! There's no way he does!"
"You're the one who's wrong." Phantom Magician retorted.
"No! Enough this! I won't listen to anymore lies!" At those words, Wynn thrusted her right palm and shot a ball of green energy.
"You really should control your anger." Andrew stated. "Because that attack will cost you." His facedown card flipped up.
"Huh?" Wynn's eyes widened.
"Thanks to the trap card Covering Fire, I can let a monster share its attack points with the one you're attacking." Blue energy came out of Bubbleman and was absorbed into Phantom Magician's staff. (ATK: 600-1900) He then used said staff as a baseball bat and struck the energy ball, sending back to Wynn. She only have time to gasp before it exploded at contact and sent her back to her original position.
Wynn: 1350-0950 (ATK: 1900-600)
"And now..." Wynn just sat there as Andrew drew. "It's my turn. Bubbleman, attack!" The water hero fired one more bubble stream. Once the strike made impact, the spirits from earlier were forced out of Wynn's body, forcing her to return to her spirit form.
Wynn: 0950-0000
After the holograms disappeared, Phantom Magician approached Wynn, who looked up. "You played well."
The Charmer just huffed and glanced away. "Save it. I don't need your pity."
"I'm not saying that because of pity, but because of respect."
Wynn merely glanced back at him.
"I can tell that you've been through something horrible, but not all duelists are as bad as whoever left you here. Andrew treats his cards with respect, even if they are weak. Trust me, I know." It was then Phantom Magician placed the tip of his staff on Wynn's forehead as it glowed with a purple light.
And then, Wynn's eyes widened as her mind was filled with images of his past. All the time he'd been through along with Andrew. And then, after Phantom Magician removed his staff, her eyes softened. "He really does care about you."
Andrew smiled and walked up to them. "That's right. Phantom Magician may not be as strong as my other monsters, but he's always with me when I need him the most. What defines a monster's usefulness is not always the attack points, but the duelist using them. Just like how you and I did. Especially since you almost defeated me with The Law of the Normal. Very impressive."
Wynn's eyes widened. As far as she remembered, no one ever gave her that kind of compliment before. She always thought that all duelists were heartless and only cared about monsters with high attack strength. But this one was not anything like that. And then, her eyes suddenly let out some tears as she sobbed softly. "...Sorry... I'm sorry..."
Phantom Magician patted her head in comfort while Andrew and Jaden smiled at this. Chazz looked indifferent.
The black and green spirits, who haven't said anything in the entire duel, couldn't help but burst into tears.
"This is very touching!" The black spirit cried out.
"I'm moved to tears!" The green spirit added.
Chazz gave those two an annoyed look. "Oh, gag me!"
It was at that moment Ojama Yellow appeared and leapt onto his head. "What's the racket?"
All three spirits' attention was now focused on the yellow spirit.
"He's got a duel spirit too?" Wynn asked.
"Yup." Andrew replied.
The green and black spirits stared at Yellow in disbelief. "Is that..." The black spirit said.
"Yes!" The green spirit replied.
Yellow noticed them. Black? Green? Is that you?"
"Our lost brother! Ojama Yellow!" They cried out happily.
"Yeah! My brothers!" Yellow leapt off of Chazz's head and landed into the welcoming arms of his brothers.
"Welcome back!" They greeted as they spun their brother around in joy.
Wynn smiled at the scene. "I never thought that someone would come down here with their missing brother."
Phantom Magician. "Yeah. What are the odds for that?"
"Whoa! What a family reunion." Jaden commented.
"Yeah, maybe a dysfunctional one." Chazz scoffed and turned back to the ladder. "I'm going." He said, surprising everyone.
"Going? But why, Chazz?" Jaden asked.
"Yeah, I thought you needed them for the duel." Andrew added.
"Your friend defeated me in a duel to get everyone out of here, and now you're just gonna walk away?" Wynn questioned.
Ojama Yellow turned to his brothers. "Boss isn't a fan of duel spirits. He might, um... decide to leave the two of you here."
"Leave us!" They exclaimed.
"Who does he think he is!" Black demanded and turned to Chazz. "Look at me when I'm talking to you!"
"I'd do what he says! He gets violent!" Green added.
"So much for weak." Andrew remarked.
"You're taking us!" They both said.
"And us too!" More spirits gathered in front of the Ojamas. "Don't forget us!"
"Well Chazz?" Jaden asked.
"Well, it can't hurt." Chazz muttered before turning back to the spirits. "Fine, whoever wants to can come with me." Those words made all the spirits cheer loudly, happy and relieved to finally leave this place. "But there's one condition." Chazz held up a finger.
"Let me guess!" Yellow replied. "Lots of hugs?" He pounced on him and kissed him on his cheek, causing him to freak out and try to whack him away.
"Hugs coming up, Chazz!" Black and Green called out as they pounced on him as well, freaking him out further.
"Finally! Freedom! Freedom!" The spirits cheered.
Later that night, Andrew was relaxing on the bed in his dorm room. Or rather, he was trying to, but found it difficult because of a certain Charmer, who was floating in front of his desk, puffing her cheeks in anger.
"Not qualified? What did he mean I'm not qualified to be used in his deck!? That rude prick!"
Andrew shook his head. Earlier, Chazz was arranging his deck, preparing himself for that one important duel. Wynn was eager to help him. But Chazz refused in his usual rude way, making her quite angry. That lead Andrew to take her to his dorm room, to make sure that none of them made a scene.
"Yeah, I know Chazz can be rude, but it's not because he has something against you. It's because of that rule his brothers added to the upcoming duel. He's only allowed to use monsters with less than 500 attack points. And your attack points are exactly 500."
Wynn huffed. "Whatever, doesn't mean he had to be such a dork."
Andrew just smiled and approached her. "I'll tell you what. You can be a part of my deck if you want."
Wynn looked at him surprised. "You... really want me?"
"Why not? I'm pretty sure you can be a great asset to me in the future. Especially with that neat flip effect of yours."
That caused Wynn to smile brightly and hug him. "Thank you!"
He just chuckled.
The next day, all students and faculty members were seated in the main arena. Jaden, Andrew, Syrus, Shiori, Bastion, Alexis, Jenny, Clover, Zane and Michael were sitting together. Chazz and Slade stood face to face on the platform in the middle.
"Ladies and gentlemen." A voice spoke through the speakers. "Today's match determines the fate of Duel Academy! Slade Princeton vs Chazz Princeton! Now, are you ready to duel?"
"If you wanna back out, tell me now." Slade warned Chazz.
"Does this answer your question?" The black clad Slifer asked and held up his duel disk.
"Ha!" Slade smirked. "Bring it! Duel!" The duelists activated their duel disks.
"It's go time!" Chazz declared.
Chazz: 4000
Slade: 4000
"Check this out! Ha!" He drew his sixth card. "I summon Soul Tiger in defense mode!" A vicious looking tiger with blue fur crouched down before him. (ATK: 0 DEF: 2100 LV: 4)
"With that attack point handicap Chazz has on him, I bet we'll be hearing that a lot." Alexis commented.
"Hey with defense points like that, that might just be a good thing." Jaden noted.
"You're up... bro." Chazz taunted.
"Thank you." Slade drew. "And I'll activate Polymerization, and fuse Lord of Dragons with Divine Dragon Ragnarok."
"This isn't good!" Syrus piped up.
Clover grimaced. "Got that right. With those, he can summon..."
"King Dragun!" A man with dragon skeleton armor and a light colored serpentine dragon entered the fusion vortex. The monster that came out afterwards was a larger version of the armored man, with his body from the chest down being a long serpentine dragon tail. He was holding a dragon shaped horn in one hand. (ATK: 2400 DEF: 1100 LV: 7)
The audience gasped at its appearance.
"And check out his special ability. Each of every turn he's on the field, I get to summon another dragon type monster from my hand. Like this one for example; Luster Dragon #2!" An imposing emerald green dragon appeared on the field. This one had two hind legs and smaller arms, a whip-like tail, snake-like neck and wide wings. (ATK: 2400 DEF: 1400 LV: 6)
"Two monsters with 2400 attack points!?" Jaden cried out.
"Not only that..." Michael replied. "With King Dragun on the field, no dragons can be targeted by card effects."
"Big whoop." Chazz said unimpressed.
"I think you mean big whooping!" Slade corrected. "King Dragun, attack Soul Tiger with Fire Scorch!" The human/dragon hybrid pointed his dragon horn at the tiger and destroyed it with a stream of flames. "And now, Luster Dragon #2, attack with Emerald Flame Attack!" The named dragon spat out a blast of flames at Chazz, causing him to scream in pain.
Chazz: 4000-1600
Everyone cringed at this.
"That wasn't fun." Shiori commented.
"He got nailed." Jaden added.
"Well, so much for all those defense points." Bastion said.
"Your move, Chazz." Slade smugly.
"About time." Chazz drew. "I'll throw a monster down in defense mode. That's all."
"That's all?" Slade drew. "This'll be easier than I thought. I summon Luster Dragon in attack mode!" A smaller, blue dragon with strong arms and legs, pointed teeth and an elongated head appeared. (ATK: 1900 DEF: 1600 LV: 4) "And Dragun's ability... summons Hyozanru!" The diamond scaled dragon rose up between its allies. (ATK: 2100 DEF: 2800 LV: 7)
"Four monsters!?" Chazz noted.
"Congratulations, you can add." Slade taunted. "But tell me little brother... how's your subtraction? Give Chazz a lesson Dragun! Take out his last monster!" Dragun fired another stream of fire from his dragon-like horn, revealing and taking a poor looking young girl. Slade smirked as victory was his... that is, until he was shocked to see a swarm of tiny, cloaked and masked creature float from the explosion's smoke, latching onto all his dragons. "What are these things!?"
"It's multiplication." Chazz replied calmly. "When Unhappy Maiden is sent to the grave, hundreds of her little friends drop in and end you turn automatically." The dragons were now surrounded by a dark aura, like they were depressed.
Slade glared at his younger brother. "So you last a bit longer. It doesn't matter."
"Yeah, wanna bet?" Chazz asked and drew. "I call Spirit of the Breeze, in defense mode!" A green-skinned fairy girl with long blue hair and wearing a yellow dress appeared and kneeled down on the field. (ATK: 0 DEF: 1800 LV: 4) "And I'll activate the spell card, The Dark Door!" The spell card appeared on the field. "And as long as this door is open for business, we can only attack with one monster each round."
"Nice try, bro. But it's just a matter of time before I bust that door down. And now..." Slade drew. "King Dragun, attack! Fire Scorch!" Dragun shot out another blast of fire and destroyed the fairy girl.
"My turn!" Chazz drew. "I play Catnipped Kitty!" A big, purple furred cat with a red underbelly and a bell hanging around its neck crouched down in front of him. (ATK: 0 DEF: 500 LV: 2)
"A cat?" Slade questioned.
"You can do better?"
"Well, you're about to find out." The elder Princeton drew his next card. When he looked at it, he chuckled. "Perfect. With this little card, your school is as good as mine. But hey, first things first! Let's declaw that kitty!" The cat cried out as it was blasted by Dragun's fire attack. "Then I'll lay down a facedown and end my turn." A card appeared at Slade's feet.
"A facedown card?" Alexis noted.
"And my gut says... he's planning to destroy Chazz's door with it." Zane suspected.
"Most likely, since that's only the second non-monster card he played so far." Jenny added.
"It's my draw!" Chazz began his turn.
"Yeah, that's right!" Slade interrupted. "And because it is, my trap activates. Dust Tornado!" The named card flipped up. "And you know what's right in its path?"
"I have an inkling." Jaden muttered.
"Chazz's Dark Door!" Andrew said grimly.
The black clad Slifer gritted his teeth as the trap card created a tornado that blew his spell card away.
"His one defense is gone!" Bastion pointed out. "Next turn, Slade will attack Chazz with everything!"
"Well, bro," Jagger spoke to Slade. "I'd say this school is ours."
"Prepare the wrecking balls."
"Not so fast, bro!" Chazz interrupted and held up a spell card. "I play Painful Choice. I know you're little slow, so I'll use small words. I pick five cards from my deck, then you choose one of the cards, and that card is added to my hand." Images of five cards appeared above him. The card in middle was a spell card, while the other four were monsters. "So? What are you waiting for? Pick."
"How scary. Five weak cards from one weak deck. Whatever will I do?" Slade said mockingly. "I'll pick the one card that's not a monster, Thunder Crash!"
Chazz slid the monster cards into his graveyard slot. "Thank you. I was hoping you'd pick that one."
"You were?" Slade asked surprised.
"But more about that later. "Now I play Enchanting Fitting Room!" A curtain appeared in front of Chazz. "I pay 800 points, and get to look at 4 cards."
Chazz: 1600-0800
"And, if any of them are level 3 or below monsters, I can summon them." The curtain opened up and revealed images of four cards. One of them was a spell card, while the other three were three familiar monsters. "Obviously Pot of Greed is no monster, but the three Ojama brothers sure are."
The yellow, green and black spirits came together and yelled. "Ta-da!" (ATK: 0 DEF: 1000 LV: 2) x3
"You are kidding!" Slade scoffed. "Don't tell me. You pin the hopes of saving your little Academy on these three twerps?"
"That's right. And you're about to see why."
The three Ojamas turned to their master. "Hey boss!"
"Sure, they look funny. They smell real bad, nobody even likes them and they never shut up!" That actually made them angry. "But these guys taught me something important."
"They did?" Jaden and Syrus asked.
"You should eat dessert first?" Green guessed.
"Flies taste great?" Black said after.
"That bathing is optional?" Yellow said lastly.
"That good bros support each other!"
"So I'm not a good bro?" Slade questioned.
"That's pretty obvious." Clover spat.
"That's right. Which is why I don't feel bad about doing this... I play a spell card!" A card appeared behind the Ojamas. "Now do your thing!"
"Righto, Boss!" They said and jumped up in the air.
"Yellow!"
"Black!"
"Green!"
"Combine!" They put their rear ends together. "Ojama Delta Hurricane!" And then they began to spin. the audience were confused at first. But then, the Ojamas spun faster and faster until they became an indistinguishable blur. They flew up and and surrounded all Slade's dragons until they exploded.
"What happened!?" Slade asked in shock. "They're all gone!"
"Thanks to a little thing called brotherly love." Chazz quipped. "Here's how it works, Slade. When the Ojama brothers are on the field, Delta Hurricane can destroy all your monsters."
"Look who's weak now!" The Ojamas boasted. "Time to take him out!"
"Oh yeah, and with this! Thunder Crash!"
The Ojamas turned around when the spell card appeared behind them.
"Guys, what's Thunder Crash do?" Yellow asked.
"Don't ask me. I left my reading monocle in the well." Green replied.
Black leaned closer to get a better look at the spell card. "Seems... Chazz deals 300 points of damage for... every monster on his field that he decides to destroy."
Yellow and Green looked at each other nervously. "Did he say destroy?" Once that revelation sank in, all three Ojamas hugged each other and jumped in the air, panicking for what was coming. "No boss! Say it ain't so!"
"Sorry guys. Have to. See ya around." The Ojamas were absorbed into the spell card. "Go, Thunder Crash!" It then fired an electric blast, striking Slade directly.
Slade: 4000-3100
"That doesn't mean a thing, got that!?" Slade snapped. "Your deck's still full of weaklings, and mine's still full of rare monsters just rearing to tear you apart!"
"I don't think so." Chazz smirked. "Thanks to all the cards in my graveyard, Slade. Cuz I play, Chaos Necromancer!" A red-skinned human-like figure appeared, with long black hair, pointy ears and a deformed nose. He was dressed in a purple outfit, with a large blue shoulder guard, pointy gold gloves, and tattered red cape. (ATK: 0 DEF: 0 LV: 1) "Sure, he starts out weak, but he gains 300 attack points for each monster that's in my graveyard."
"Each one!" Sheppard repeated, sitting next to Banner.
"So then..." Andrew said in realization.
"So with 11 monsters in my grave, his attack points are 3300. How's that for weak?"
"No way!" Slade said in shock.
The spirits of all monsters in the graveyard appeared above Chazz's field, surrounded by green flame-like aura.
"Hey, we're back!" Yellow noted.
"So he does love us!" Black and Green said in unison.
"No! Hold on!" Slade screamed.
"Now, Chaos Necromancer! Attack with Curtain Call Catapult!" All duel spirits gathered together and formed a single ball of green aura, floating between the Necromancer's hands. (ATK: 0-3300) He then flung his hands forward, sending all spirits at Slade, reducing his life points.
"No fair!" Jagger exclaimed.
"You go bye bye!" Chazz declared.
Andrew and the others cheered at this while Slade fell to his knees.
Slade: 3100-0000
"Chazz did it! Yeah!" Syrus cheered.
"He saved the school!" Jaden added.
"Way to go, Chazz!" Andrew called out.
All the students cheered for him as well. He then interrupted them. "Wait! You know the cheer! Chazz... it..."
"Up!" Andrew and Shiori filled in.
"Of course!" Alexis and Jenny said.
"Chazz it up!" Chazz repeated.
"Chazz it up! Chazz it up! Chazz it up! Chazz it up! Chazz it up!"
"Imbecile!" Jagger berated his brother as he left the platform. "How could you lose this?"
"Relax, Jagger." Slade muttered and looked over his shoulder. "It's only one duel."
"One duel!? Just listen to them! This 'one duel' has turned Chazz into a hero... and a major headache for us!"
The owner of Duel Academy was standing in his office, looking out the window, while one of his employees informed him about Chazz's duel. "Of course he won. Did you really think I would give Duel Academy to those two? They have a lot to learn about world domination.
Later that night
"Man, what a day." Andrew muttered as he collapsed on his bed. "That duel was a close one."
Phantom Magician and Wynn appeared next to him. "That's true." The former said. "But what's important is Chazz won, so the school is safe. We don't have to worry about being forced to leave this place forever."
Wynn smiled and nodded. "Yeah, he did a really great job there. And it was actually nice of him to keep all the monsters he and the rest of you got out of that well."
Andrew smiled in amusement. "Yeah, but knowing him, he might not like it that much."
And he was right, because if we take a look inside Chazz's dorm room, we'll find him trying to relax on his bed. However, that was really difficult to him, with all the duel spirits flying and playing around. Especially with the Ojama brothers chasing each other. Eventually...
"QUIET!" Chazz yelled. "Get out of here! Now! I didn't sign up for this!"
Yellow floated up to him and smiled. "Come on, Boss. Those guys just want to be your friends. Now let's go get some pizza. I call extra anchovies!"
"Yeah! Yeah!" Black and Green agreed.
Chazz was getting more annoyed. "I don't want anchovies! And, I don't want any friends, or any roommates, or pets, or... or... whatever it is you guys are!"
"In that case, just call us family!" All spirits agreed Ojama Yellow's suggestion, while Chazz groaned in annoyance as he tried drown the noise with a pillow.
Hello, hello, hello! I hope guys enjoyed this chapter. Untill next time.
