Duel Distractions - Part 1
At Academy Island, Andrew did his morning training... starting with running. Ha ran around campus until he noticed Bastion standing on a high up cliff, staring out at the ocean as the rising morning sun was shining brightly. "Hey, Bastion!"
The intelligent Ra turned around and saw Andrew approach him. "Good morning, Andrew. Out for your daily exercise I see."
"You got it. Although, I never thought I would run into you at this time in the morning."
"Well, I just woke up and thought about our current situation, regarding the spirit keys and Shadow Riders." He turned back and stared out at the ocean again. "Ever since Alexis and Jenny defeated Cynthia Pepper, aka Black Thorn, it's been eerily quiet. Too quiet."
"That's true." Andrew agreed. "We better keep our eyes open for anything crazy. Who knows when they will strike next time?"
"Indeed." Bastion nodded. "With two of the ten spirit gates already open, it's more important than ever that we'd be prepared." He then opened his blazer, revealing his six deck cases. "Good thing I'm well equipped."
"Really well equipped." Andrew replied as Bastion took out one of his decks and looked through the cards. "Huh?" He stopped when he came upon one particular card. "Where on earth did this card come from?"
Andrew got closer to him to look at the card he was staring at. It was White Magician Pikeru. "I remember this card. You had it in your light deck when you dueled me."
"It's true. I did have this card in my light deck. How did it end up in this one?" Bastion wondered. The intellectual Ra pondered for a moment before shaking his head. "Silly distraction. Well, nothing distracts me."
Andrew raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure? Anyone can be distracted by anything."
"Well not me." Bastion said. "Not even the cute Pikeru card."
Andrew smiled amused. "Cute? Wow, I never thought you liked the card that much."
Bastion's eyes widened as his face reddened a little. "It's nothing like that! I'm just finding that card useful, that's all!"
"Sure you are." Andrew replied sarcastically.
"Anyway, I'll head over to the Slifer Dorm." Bastion said while walking away.
"What for?"
He turned back and smiled. "To wake up a few specific students and let them join me in a special exercise. Oh, and since you're here, how about you join me as well?"
Andrew thought about it for a moment before nodding. "Sure, why not? I need to continue my training anyway."
At the Slifer Dorm, Jaden, Syrus and Chumley were snoring away peacefully, despite the fact it's school day.
But that was about to change... by Bastion and Andrew. They activated their duel disks and setting one monster card each. Bastion brought out Barrel Dragon. And he let Andrew borrow his Blowback Dragon.
"So then, shall we?" Bastion asked.
Andrew tried his best to keep himself from laughing. "Ready when you are."
"Well then..." The genius put his hands over his ears. "Ready..."
Andrew did the same thing. "Get set..."
"FIRE!" Both dragons fired off shots from their cannons, which was more than enough to wake up the three Slifers and make Jaden fall out of his bed.
"Hit the snooze button." Chumley complained.
"More like the snooze trigger." Syrus added.
"That's getting up with a bang." Jaden commented. They then heard laughter from Bastion and Andrew and saw them turning off their duel disks. "Bastion, Andrew?"
"Good morning sleepyheads!" Andrew greeted.
"Yeah... well it was good..." Syrus mumbled.
"Yes, now that we're all awake, how about some good old fashioned daybreak duel exercises?" Bastion suggested, earning some groaning from the Slifer trio.
"One, two, draw! One, two, draw! One, two, draw!"
The gang were now standing at the cliff where Andrew met Bastion earlier, with the latter standing opposite the rest of them. All of them had their duel disks on and decks at the ready, repeating the same motions, following Bastions example.
"Yeah... this was worth getting up for." Jaden muttered.
"Quiet, you'll make me lose count." Syrus whispered as he drew.
It was then Chumley noticed the latest card the smaller Slifer drew, and held it still to get a better look at it. It was a monster card with the picture of a cute girl with red hair and tiger-skinned clothes, sitting at a set of drums. "What the... Is that Thunder Nyan Nyan?"
"Yeah it is." Syrus replied with a small blush on his face. "I got her a while ago. I kind of have a bit of a card crush on her."
"Card crush... that's so lame, Syrus. At least having one on that card." Chumley pulled out a copy of Dian Keto the Cure Master and showed it to him. "Check out mine!"
"Yeah... she's... really pretty, Chum." Syrus said, obviously thinking otherwise.
"Totally reminds me of my girlfriend back home. Her name's Sally... no wait, Adrianna."
Syrus faced Jaden and Andrew. "Hey guys, do you have any card crushes hidden away in your dueling decks?"
"You'd better believe it." The brown-haired Slifer answered. "They bring loads of luck!"
"I used to have one a few years back. I think it was Lady heat." Andrew then looked thoughtful and rubbed his chin. "Or was it Poison Rose?"
"BEG YOUR PARDON!?" Bastion interrupted them, clearly not happy at the moment. "But I thought we were training here! And training gentlemen, does not comprise of standing around and talking about birds!"
"Did he say birds?" Syrus asked, confused.
"You know what? I think that Bastion doesn't have a card crush." Chumley assumed.
"A crush on a card? Of course not!" Bastion scoffed. "That's just plain irrational, illogical, ridiculous...!" But he suddenly remembered his White Magician Pikeru card and a small blush was formed on his face.
"Actually, Bastion does have a card crush." Andrew said, noting the blush on his fellow Ra's face. "He just doesn't want to admit it.
Bastion shook his head and glared at him. "There's nothing to admit! Look, let's just get back to our dueling exercises, alright?"
"Sure, but I do have plans to play solitaire with Thunder Nyan Nyan in about 15 minutes." Syrus said, holding up the card in question.
"WHAT!?" Bastion shouted, startling Syrus and Chumley enough to make them fall over. "You'll be breaking that date, and soon breaking a sweat! Now gentlemen... back to our duel training!"
"And into the dog house for me." Syrus moaned. "She hates it when I cancel on her."
"Somehow, I think she'll understand, Syrus." Jaden said.
"You think?" Syrus looked up at him.
Chumley nodded. "Totally. It's not like she's a real girlfriend, like Sally-er... Adrianna."
"Yeah Chumley we get it." Andrew said.
Later on, the band of Slifers and Ras were sitting in Banners class. The Slifer trio were sitting together, their heads down and snoring away, while Bastion and Andrew were sitting together with Shiori.
As for Banner, he frowned as he noted the big number of empty seats. "There certainly are a lot of absences today. Hm... must be a bug going around."
'None that I've heard of.' Bastion thought to himself. 'There's definitely something strange in the air. Well...' He then glanced the sleeping Slifer Trio. '... besides all of that snoring.'
The sound of the door hissing open made Banner turn to see a young woman dressed in white and orange walk towards him, holding a duffle bag with a worried look on her face. "May I help you?" He asked.
"Well... do you recognize this bag?" The woman asked, showing him the duffle bag she was holding.
Banner looked down at the bag. "Yes, it's one of my students, why?"
Andrew frowned, as he realized that something was up. As did the other key keepers, including Jaden, who woke up in time to see Banner talk to the woman.
After class, Banner traveled around in the forest, along with Jaden, Andrew, Syrus, Chumley, Shiori, Bastion, Chazz, Alexis, Jenny, Michael... even Clover and Xander.
"I wonder why that pack was left all the way out here." Jaden wondered.
"Indeed." Bastion agreed. "And Jaden, where its owner is."
"I hope that no one is hurt." Banner worried.
"I wonder what happened to them?" Jenny said.
"Maybe it has something to do with a Shadow Rider?" Shiori suggested.
"What? You mean another one kidnapped them, like Black Thorn?" Chazz scoffed. "Yeah right."
"Well, let's hope that isn't the case." Michael replied.
The group continued walking through the woods, searching for the missing people. Even calling out for people, without getting any answer. After what felt like ours, they came to a large cleared out space, where they found a big surprise. A large colossal stadium, like out of the roman empire.
"Where did this come from?" Jaden asked, staring at it.
"Did the romans come to this island and built this?" Andrew wondered.
"I'm going in!" Bastion declared and ran towards the structure.
"Wait up!" Syrus called out before he and the others ran after him.
"Aww, running." Chumley complained.
A moment later, they came into the center of the arena and to their surprise, they found the missing students working in different areas of the arena. They were lifting rocks, putting them in places, and doing other such things. And they seemed to not mind doing these kind of jobs.
"Hey! That guy's from class." Syrus said, glancing at one of them.
"Yeah, so is she." Chumley added.
"Oh my." Banner said.
"I don't know about you guys, but this kinda reminds me of when we faced Black Thorn." Shiori commented.
"All that's left is meeting the female Shadow Rider, if there is one around here." Clover added.
Chazz observed the many workers... until his eyes bugged out when they landed on one worker in particular. "CROWLER!?"
Upon hearing Chazz exclaim, everyone else followed his gaze and saw the blue headmaster try move a large stone block with a crowbar. "What are you doing here?" Michael asked.
Crowler looked at them and smiled proudly. "Oh! A man's work!"
"A man's work?" Banner repeated. "My, they must have been running very short of men." Shiori, Michael and even Clover's face turned red as they held in their laughter due to Banner's comment.
Xander snickered at that. "Hehe, good one."
"Huh?" Andrew noticed something from afar. And then, he paled.
Which Jaden noticed. "What's wrong, Andrew?" To answer the question, the dark blue haired Ra pointed at what he was looking at. When Jaden followed the finger's direction, he paled as well. Because what was standing before them was a big, one-eyed and fierce-looking tiger, growling at them. The others noticed it as well. But only just in time to see it roar and run towards them. That of course, caused them all to shriek in fright and run away from it.
"First a colosseum, then a tiger! What's next, a gladiator!?" Banner cried out.
"Actually, I think she prefers the term, 'Amazon'!" Crowler corrected, acting almost like he was head over heels.
"Amazon!?" Banner repeated, who by now, along with his students, was clinging on top of a pillar, avoiding the claws of the angry tiger.
"That's right." A new voice spoke. The group of students, plus Banner, looked at the direction the voice came from, and saw a woman with a well-built body, short green shirt, tight black pants, long red hair in a ponytail, a set of golden bracelets and a spike collar around her neck... and two large scars that went from above her right eye all the way down to her chin. And finally, she was wearing a large, bladed duel disk on her arm. "And thanks to your friends, I've been able to finally finish... my glorious arena."
"Arena for what?" Jaden asked.
The amazon jumped off the spectator seats and somersaulted a few times before landing in the ring of arena. "Dueling." At that, the tiger walked over to the amazon, letting her stroke its fur, much to the gang's relief.
They got down from the pillar one by one and then focused on the amazon, who walked over to the students, plus Crowler, that lined up before her. "Job well done!" She said proudly, holding up a set of envelopes in her hand. "I had no idea that Duel Academy students could make such fine laborers. Now as promised. Here's your payment." She said while passing out the envelopes to them. "Some rare cards, well deserved, I might add. Until next time." And then, they walked away, satisfied with their payment.
Even Crowler walked with an envelope of his own, grinning from ear to ear. As he passed by the group, Clover gave him an unimpressed look. "Okay, that's just pathetic."
"At least they weren't mind controlled this time." Andrew added.
"Hey! What is going on?" Jaden demanded.
The amazon turned around to face him and the others. "What does it look like? I'm setting the stage, key keeper, for your vanquishing. I'm one of the Shadow Riders."
"So I was right, huh?" Shiori mused.
"A Shadow Rider? Aw man." Syrus moaned.
"You mean aw wo-man." Chumley corrected. "Amazons are a warrior race, of all females."
"Wow, you go girl." Alexis said.
"Totally." Jenny added as Clover nodded in agreement.
"The name is Tania." The amazon introduced herself. "And now that the battle ground has been established, it's time that we battle. Now then, which one of you big strong men will it be?" She asked, glancing at the girls. "After all, I would never harm a sister."
"Hey, don't do us any favors!" Alexis said, felling offended.
"Yeah, what she said!" Jenny added, feeling the same.
"Well, at least two of you are safe from this predicament." Banner said.
"So, which of you males will it be?" Tania asked. "Who's my man?"
"Right here!" Jaden stepped up.
"Yours truly!" Chazz added.
"I'll take you!" Bastion declared.
"Let's go!" Andrew said.
"I'm game!" Shiori added.
"Bring it on!" Michael said.
Tania looked at the boys, thinking carefully. "Hmm... If this is really the best you have to offer... then I suppose I'll pick... you!" She pointed at Bastion, who was smiling a bit.
"Well, can't duel them all." Jaden said as they walked back to the gang. None of them noticed the annoyed expression on Alexis, who huffed slightly. Jenny and Clover did the same thing.
The tiger moved away from Tania, while the academy students, plus Banner, went to sit in the stands. "What is your name?" The amazon asked.
"Bastion... Bastion Misawa." The Ra answered.
Tania seemed to smile in interest.
"Alright pal! Go and get her!" Jaden cheered.
"And don't go easy on her cuz she's a girl!" Syrus added.
"Not like any I've seen." Chumley muttered.
"Alright, let's do this." Bastion declared. "The only question is... which deck to choose?" He opened his jacket to reveal his six deck cases.
"Really? I have the same problem myself." Tania said, holding up one deck in each hand. "I have two decks. One is of knowledge. The other is of courage. Why don't you go ahead and decide which of the two I use?"
"Fine then. I'll pick the deck of knowledge."
"Nice choice." Tania inserted the deck in question into her duel disk.
"Thank you, but it's not nearly as nice as the choice that I am making for myself." Bastion said, pulling out one of his own decks and inserted it into his duel disk. "I select my earth deck."
"Then let us begin. And don't worry. This isn't a Shadow Game."
"Beg your pardon?" Bastion asked, clearly confused.
"You heard me Bastion. I don't want your soul. I want you, big boy.~" Talia cooed. The Ra almost fell flat on the ground in surprise at her words. "It's like this; my tribe's all women. So to marry, I have to shop around."
"To marry!?" Bastion exclaimed.
"That's right, hun. Now let's do this." The amazon winked at him before they drew their opening hands.
Michael and Andrew sweat dropped at this. "Well, the stakes are pretty new." The former commented.
"Now I'm suddenly glad I didn't get picked." The latter added.
"You and me both." Jenny and Clover, who were sitting behind him, replied at the same. That caused them to glance at each other, scowl and huffed while turning away from each other.
"Duel!"
Bastion: 4000
Tania: 4000
"Alright, it's my turn." Tania declared and drew her sixth card. "And first, I'll summon the Amazoness Swords Woman in attack mode." A familiar, well-built woman in a blue outfit with long, red hair and a curved blade appeared. (ATK: 1500 DEF: 1600 LV: 4) "Then, I'll place one card facedown and end my turn." A card appeared behind the Swords Woman.
"I'm up." Bastion announced and drew a card. "And I summon to the field, Magnet Warrior Sigma Plus in attack mode!" A humanoid shaped monster with a strange head and decked out in a tough orange armor appeared from a flash of electricity. It had a pole in one hand, while the other held a shield with a plus symbol. (ATK: 1800 DEF: 1500 LV: 4) "And now Magnet Warrior, attack that Amazoness! Lode Stone Baton Bash!" The two monsters charged at one another, with the Swords Woman making her first move. She struck with her sword, but the magnet warrior blocked it with its pole before releasing an electric charge that destroyed the amazon. However...
Bastion: 4000-3700
"Why'd Bastion lose life points?" Syrus wondered.
"Because of the Swords Woman's ability." Clover replied.
"That's right." Tania nodded. "Her opponent takes all battle damage that was dealt to her."
"He walked right into that one." Chumley said.
"Yeah, that's not like Bastion." Alexis added.
"Nu-huh. It's just like Bastion. Think about. Sure, he has fewer life points, but she has fewer monsters. Smart move."
"Yeah... until I play my facedown card!" Tania said with a smirk and revealed her facedown card. "Pride of Tribe. This trap activates when an Amazoness is destroyed. Now I can summon another one from my deck. So tell me. Who here is the smart one now?" A second Amazoness Swords Woman appeared on the field. (ATK: 1500 DEF: 1600 LV: 4) "You miscalculated on that last move. After all, now we have the same amount of monsters... but not the same amount of life points~"
Bastion took a deep breath and sighed before inserting a card into his duel disk. "I'll play a card facedown, and that will suffice."
"Oh my! That will suffice?" Tania spoke up with dreamy eyes. "Say it again, it sounded so cool!"
"You know," Syrus spoke up. "I'm thinking that it's been a couple of years since Tania's interacted with a guy."
"Couple of years? Try decades, Sy. This lady is man crazy!" Jaden commented.
"Makes me even more glad I didn't get picked." Andrew added.
"I'm quite flattered." Bastion said. "But I'm well aware of what you're trying to do. You're trying to distract me. But I can tell you right now, my dear, it's simply not going to work. I'm too focused!"
"Oh, are you? We'll see!" Tania said and drew a card. "I play the Amazoness Blowpiper!" A woman with long blue hair in a green outfit and holding a blowpipe with a small skull at the end appeared next to the Swords Woman. (ATK: 800 DEF: 1500 LV: 3)
"And I play my facedown!" Bastion interrupted and revealed his facedown card. "Magnet Force Minus!" The trap card released red electricity that enveloped the new amazon. "When this card is activated, it can equip onto one monster, then who it's equipped to... gains a negative magnetism, and becomes what's known as a Minus monster. And from there dear, it gets interesting. See, two Minus monsters? Well, I'm afraid they're not allowed to engage in battle with each other. But, a Minus and a Plus? If they're out, they must fight!"
Tania glanced at the Blowpiper. "So, since Amazoness Blowpiper is a Minus monster..."
"And Magnet Warrior Sigma Plus is a Plus monster... it's on!" Sparks flew between the two charged monsters. "You've heard that old quote 'Opposites attract'? Well I'm afraid it's true."
"I know it." Tania said. "After all, just look at the two of us."
"Oh, stop it!" Bastion said, annoyed
"Stop it? Why don't I just stop you from winning this battle instead?" Tania held up a spell card. "Go Amazoness Spellcaster! Now, one Amazoness and one monster on the field exchange their attack points with each other."
'What!?' Bastion thought in disbelief.
The Amazoness stood a little higher as her strength was increased, while the Magnet Warrior dropped down as it lost power. (ATK: 800-1800 DEF: 1500 LV: 3) (ATK: 1800-800 DEF: 1500 LV: 4)
"This is bad!" Syrus panicked.
"Tell me about it." Shiori replied. "Now Bastion's monster is going to be outmatched."
"Attack, Amazoness Blowpiper!" The named monster blew into her blowpipe, shooting out a dart which flew across the field and struck the Magnet Warrior in the chest aream blowing it away.
Bastion: 3700-2700
"And now, the Amazoness Swords Woman will attack you directly! Go, Amazon Slash Attack!" The sword wielding woman jumped into the air and came down swinging her blade Bastion.
Bastion: 2700-1200
"That was fun." Tania said as she ended her turn. (ATK: 1800-800)
Bastion gasped, trying to recover from the last attack. "But how? That's two times that she's been able to outthink me."
"I guess we know where our kids are going to get their smarts from then." Tania teased him.
"WHAT!? OUR KIDS!?" The Ra exclaimed "We are enemies! Rivals!"
Tania smiled. "During this duel, we are. But afterwards, we'll be betrothed to each other. Just think about it, you'll be Mr. Tania The Amazon Woman!"
Clover groaned at this. "And I thought Tracey was disturbing. I mean, Mr. Tania The Amazon Woman? When married, the females are supposed to change their last names, not the other way around. That woman is so ridiculous."
"I am so not!" Tania glared her direction. "But then again, I don't really have a last name. So the thought of having the last name of a dominating male just turns me on.~"
"You're relentless." Bastion said, now beginning to question his situation. "Truly, are you that smitten with me?"
"I prefer in love!"
"You hardly know me!"
"I know enough... my little sugar booger.~"
That nickname just made Bastion a little more annoyed. 'Keep your cool, Bastion. She's just trying to distract you. Like how those silly card crushes distract Syrus and Chumley. But you've always been above that.' He thought about Thunder Nyan Nyan and the Cure Master and how they affected the two named Slifers. But then, the image of White Magician Pikeru appeared in his mind, at which he gripped his head with both hands. "NO! Get out! I'm above all this!"
The spectators sweat dropped at his behavior. "Bastion sure is acting weird." Jaden noted.
"Love works in mysterious ways." Syrus added.
"QUIET! I'm not in love!" Bastion snapped at them. 'And I'll prove it, by taking Tania down.' He turned back to his opponent. "My turn!" He drew. "Right, I activate Magnet Conductor Plus! This allows me to bring a Plus monster from the graveyard to my hand! So, come on back Magnet Warrior Sigma Plus!" He took the named card from his graveyard slot. "However, he won't be out for long, because he and the Magnet Warrior Omega Minus from my hand are now going right back to the grave so that I can summon Conduction Warrior Linear Magnum ±!" The Plus monster momentarily appeared along with a purple Magnet Warrior before they became electric energy and merged together to form a new monster. An impressive yellow and purple armored being with cannons on its shoulders. (ATK: 2700 DEF: 1300 LV: 7)
"Conduction Warrior Magnum... man that's a difficult name." Shiori said.
"Yeah, but that monster is very impressive." Xander commented, fascinated by the mechanical being.
"And now I'll activate Warrior Magnum ±'s special ability! It adds half the attack points of one magnet monster on the field to the Magnum Warrior's attack points." Red electricity emitted from Blowpiper's body and charged up the Conduction Warrior. (ATK: 2700-3100)
"He's got her outmatched now!" Jaden pointed out.
"Go get her, Bastion!" Andrew cheered.
"Now, Warrior Magnum! Attack Amazoness Blowpiper with Polarizing Pulverizing Blast!" The ± monster charged up its cannons and fired off a combined, powerful blast and destroyed Blowpiper instantly.
Tania: 4000-1700
"Next, I'll place two facedowns. And I think that'll do." Two cards appeared at Bastion's feet.
"What a move! No wonder I love you!" Tania gasped excitedly. "And sweetie, because I do... I must beat you!" Her expression then turned serious as she drew sixth card. "And with Amazoness Swords Woman's special ability, where even if she loses in battle, you take damage, I will! Now, Amazoness Swords Woman! Strike down Conduction Warrior Linear Magnum ± with Amazon Slash Attack!"
'This is it! I better think fast, or this duel is going to be over fast!' Bastion thought as the Swords Woman jumped in the air and came flying towards his monster. "Sorry, but I play a facedown!" Bastion revealed one of his facedown cards. "Power Off! Now Warrior Magnum ± splits back into the two monsters that originated him!" Magnum split in two and took the form of the two original Magnet Warriors, making the Swords Woman miss her target. (ATK: 1800 DEF: 1500 LV: 4) (ATK: 1900 DEF: 1600 LV: 4)
"No fair!" Tania protested.
"Tight move!" Jaden commented.
Bastion closed his eyes. "Yes, I agree..."
"Guess I'll just have to get you next turn." Tania said as she placed a card onto her duel disk. "And with Amazoness Paladin now on the field, you can be sure I will." A woman wearing a light-brown, sleeveless battle dress with a longsword appeared. (ATK: 1700 DEF: 300 LV: 4) "Because my Paladin... she gains an extra 100 attack points for every card on my field that has the name Amazoness in it." (ATK: 1700-1900) "Next, I'll place two cards facedown. And that'll do for now." Two cards appeared behind her monsters.
'Well at least she's concentrating on her dueling instead of on me.' Bastion thought to himself. "Alright, it's my move now..."
"Speaking of moves, sweetie..." Tania interrupted, looking at him longingly and chewed on her thumb a little. "I think... it's probably best that you move in with me. You know, after we get married? Oh, we'll just have the coziest home sweet home.~"
That made Bastion blink, taken back at her words.
The amazon noticed his reaction. "Oh, I'm sorry honey. Am I distracting you again with this talk about how much I love you? And how positively handsome you are? Oh, there I go again!~"
The intelligent Ra held a hand over his heart while blushing.
"I guess that I simply can't help myself." Tania continued before spreading her arms out and wide. "I'm head over heels!~"
Now Bastion's completely infatuated with her. "Yes... me too." Heck there was a light pink blush on his cheeks.
"Yuck! Are there barf bags on this flight?" Jaden asked, feeling a bit disgusted by this chemistry.
"I was about to ask the same question." Jenny replied, feeling the same.
"Aw man, Bastion's getting all flushed... and all sidetracked." Syrus noted.
"Come on, Bastion! Snap out of it!" Andrew called out. "You have to get your head back in the game!"
"Alright, my turn!" Bastion ignored him and drew his next card, while keeping that blush. "First off, I summon Magnet Warrior Sigma Minus in attack mode!" A robot-like monster appeared on the field, with green arms and legs, its main body blue and beige, and carrying a spiked club in one hand. (ATK: 1500 DEF: 1800 LV: 4) "Next, I'll play my facedown, One Hundred Thousand Gauss!" His facedown card flipped up. "You see, I can activate this when I have a Plus Monster and a Minus monster out on my field. It lets me switch one of your monsters to attack mode, and reduce that monster's attack points by 800." (ATK: 1900-1100)
"Alright! That's sweet!" Jaden cheered. "Now Bastion's got the monsters and the match up he needs! This duel is totally in the bag!"
Tania smirked. "I would think so too. Until I play Dramatic Rescue!" One of her facedown cards flipped up. "It lets me return one of my monsters to my hand and then summon a different one to the field." The Paladin disappeared and its card appeared in Tania's hand as he took another card from it. "And as you're about to see, this one is very different indeed. Come out, Amazoness Tiger!" The swords woman was joined by a tiger. In fact, this tiger looked like an exact copy of Tania's pet tiger. (ATK: 1100 DEF: 1500 LV: 4) "And don't try catching this tiger by the toe, because she gains 400 attack points for each Amazoness out on the field. (ATK: 1100-1900)
"So not lishus." Chumley said
"And, when this card's on my field, you're not allowed to attack any other Amazoness monsters but it."
"So... there's no choice?" Alexis wondered. "He has to attack that tiger?"
"It seems like it." Jenny replied.
'Simple.' Bastion thought. 'I have three Magnet Warriors out. I'll use one to eliminate Amazoness Tiger. Then, another one to destroy the Amazoness Swords Woman. Then, I'll use the remaining one to attack Tania directly and win.'
"Fun duel, but I'm afraid it's about to be over! Go, Magnet Warrior Omega Minus! Attack and tame that..."
"Must duel! Must Duel!" A robotic voice cried out.
Everyone was startled by the random voice that spoke up.
"What in the...!?" Jaden muttered.
"What the heck was that!?" Chazz spoke up, for the first time since the entire duel.
Xander paled at this 'Hold on! That sounds familiar!'
Tania growled and looked around. "Who dares!?"
As if on cue, someone or something jumped up from another part of the spectator seats and landed on the field, right between the two duelists. The landing caused some dust from the ground envelop the unknown individual. When it cleared, everyone could see who... or what it was. It turned out to be... a white robot with a duel disk!
"What is that!?" Syrus asked slowly.
"A robot?" Alexis said.
Andrew and Shiori stared at the robot in disbelief. "Is that...?" The former muttered.
"No way..." The latter said.
Tania glared angrily at the robot. "I don't know what you are, but you just interrupted an important duel here. I demand that you leave at once, or I swear..."
"ERROR! ERROR! ERROR!" It cried out as its body suddenly sparked with electricity. Everyone was so surprised by this, that none of them reacted in time when the electricity spread and hit Tania and Bastion's duel disks. Both of them cringed at the shock while the holograms started to flicker.
"Oh my! The duel disks are malfunctioning!" Banner noted.
And right after those words left his mouth, the holograms disappeared completely. And then, the robot jumped over to Bastion's side.
"What!? What are you..." Before the shocked Bastion could finish his sentence, the robot slammed its right arm against his head and knocked him out.
"Bastion!" Andrew called out as he and the others came down and ran towards their friend.
"Hey!" Tania called out and did the same. But before anyone could reach them, the robot grabbed the unconscious Bastion, jumped over the key keepers and ran towards the exit.
"Oh no!" Xander cried out.
"After it!" Jaden said as the gang chased after it. When they got outside, they tried to find the robotic kidnapper. But... they found nothing.
"Where are they?" Alexis wondered.
"Not here." Michael replied, concerned.
"This is awful." Banner said.
Andrew gritted his teeth, not liking this at all. "Bastiooooon!"
And that's that. I'm sure many of you are wondering why I made the end of the chapter like this. Well, I've seen Bastion getting beat by Tania in many other GX stories, and in my opinion, that's getting old. So I decided to twist it a bit. Although, maybe this was a bit forced. I don't know. I just hope you guys liked it.
