The Dark Scorpions
Somewhere in a dark cave, a group of four were gathered around a dimly lit candle. "We've been waiting for this day a long time. Now it's here." A young male with a large hammer said.
"I know." A large, older man replied while polishing a giant, spiked mace. "It's hard to believe the boss is actually coming."
"Of course he's coming." A woman with a thorny whip said. "After all, al ofl the pieces are finally in place."
"They will be, once we enact the plan at least." Another man with a big dagger added.
The four people rose up and brought their respective weapons together. "There's no stopping the Dark Scorpions now!"
It was early in the morning, and a ferry boat was heading to the Academy Island. The only people onboard was its captain and a man wearing a brown trench coat.
"Land ho, detective!" The captain called out to the man on the deck. "That's Academy Island right up there!"
Looking out at the island, the detective squinted a bit. "Time to go to work."
Jenny, Alexis and her brother Atticus were standing together in one of the main building's hallways. The older Rhodes was absentmindedly staring out the window. Physically, he was fine. But mentally, not so much. And that made his younger sister stare at him with a melancholy look. Jenny figured that she could be there for her best friend.
"What's up, Alexis?" The blonde and blunette turned to see Jaden walking up to them, alongside Andrew, Chazz, Michael, Shiori, Banner and a purple-haired man wearing a brown trench coat and hat. "How's your bro Atticus doing?"
"So-so." Alexis replied and turned back to her brother. "I mean, he's out of that hospital bed now, but he still can't remember much of what happened."
"I'm sure he'll come around soon, Alexis." Andrew assured her.
"Thanks." The blonde replied.
"So what brings you all over?" Jenny wondered.
"The law, actually." Banner answered and turned to the other man, who tipped his hat to the young girls, drawing their attention to the golden eye-looking eyepatch on his right eye.
"Good afternoon, ladies. I'm Detective Zaloog." He greeted.
Alexis blinked, as if something was off about him. "Okay."
"You see girls, since 3 of the 10 spirit keys have already been taken by the Shadow Riders, and the fate of the world rests on protecting the remaining 7, the academy thought it best to call in the police." Banner explained.
"By the way, where are your keys?" Jaden asked the girls.
"Around our necks." Jenny answered as she and Alexis showed them their keys.
"Same here." Chazz said.
"Yeah, same with me." Jaden added.
"It seems we all have the keys around our necks." Shiori commented as he, Andrew and Michael revealed their keys as well.
"Oh my, that's exactly what I was afraid of." Detective Zaloog spoke up. "You may think that's where it's safest, but it's not. For you see, all the Shadow duelists have to do is find you and they find the key."
"So, the detective suggests... we all hide the keys somewhere." Banner added.
"Whatever's clever, I guess." Jaden shrugged.
"Perhaps I could help?" Someone said. Everyone turned and saw Xander approach them.
"What's up Xander?" Michael asked.
The mechanic smiled. "I overheard your conversation, and thought I could show you something that could help you keep the spirit keys safe...
Later at the Slifer Dorm
"Voila!" Xander said as he showed everyone something placed on the desk in his dorm room. There were a few small disks that had some sort of red dots.
"What are these things?" Chazz asked.
"Just a few sensors I built." Xander said. "They are linked to this alarm I made." He held up to a small, grey device that resembled a walkie-talkie. It had three buttons. Red, yellow and green. "As soon as these tiny things sense some movements, then this thing kicks in. Let me show you..." Xander pressed the green button, making a small bulb at one side of the alarm to lit up. He then picked up one of the small disks and pressed its red dot, making it blink with a red light. And after placing it on the desk, he waited for a short moment until it stopped blinking and glowed like a regular lamp. "And now..." He waved his hand right above the sensor. And as soon as it blinked again...
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
The group were slightly startled by the loud noise coming from the alarm. Xander pressed the yellow button again, stopping the loud noise. "As you can see, the green button tis for turning the alarm on. The yellow button is for stopping the blaring. The red button is for turning the alarm off. "So, what do you guys think?"
The gang were certainly impressed by his work.
"Xander, you really outdid yourself." Andrew complimented.
"That's very impressive." Professor Banner added.
"Impressive indeed." Detective Zaloog agreed. "That alarm of yours will be a great asset to this."
"Then let's go and hide our keys." Jaden declared.
The first stop was Chazz's dorm room.
"Nobody'd will think to look here." Chazz said, hiding his key inside the sink cabinet, right behind a small couch.
"Yes." Zaloog nodded. "Just be sure Chazz, that you keep it a secret."
"Then allow me to place the first sensor." Xander said. Chazz moved aside as the mechanic placed it on the couch, so it was facing the cabinet.
It was then everyone heard a strange noise from outside. "Who's that?!" Zaloog exclaimed.
Everyone turned and saw a big man in a blue outfit painting the railing. He had a scar over his right eye. "Oh, that's just Gorg." Jaden reassured him. "He's the janitor."
And now it was Jaden's turn to hide his key, so everyone headed to his dorm room.
"There. The junk drawer." Jaden said and placed his key into a drawer filled with knick knack and small toys.
"And there." Xander said and put the next sensor inside the drawer.
"Good. With the sensor inside there, the thief would trigger the alarm if they decide to look inside." Zaloog said as Chazz closed the drawer.
The sound of someone fiddling the doorknob made Jaden run over and open it fast. "Who's there?!" The person who was startled by Jaden was a short Slifer red boy with spiky blonde hair and a red headband. "Oh, it's you."
"Well, who is it?!" Zaloog demanded.
"Hey, C.K. You lost again?" Syrus asked as he and Chumley passed by.
"Your room's next door, remember?" Jaden reminded him.
"Oh!" C.K. rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Oh yeah." At that, he ran off.
"C.K.'s a new transfer student." Chumley explained. "He's kinda on the slow side. I love dueling him.
Now they were in Andrew's room.
"I have a good hiding spot for my key." He approached his desk and opened one of the drawers and brought out a black book. He then opened it and showed everyone its secret compartment.
"A hollowed-out book." Jenny noted in awe.
"That's a classic." Michael said.
"And very clever." Zaloog added.
Andrew placed his key inside the book.
"I don't think I have a great hiding spot in my room." Shiori said. "Is it okay if I add my key?"
"Sure." Andrew said as he letthe ritual duelist put his key inside the book.
Chazz approached the duo who put the book inside the drawer. "Hey Xander, pass me one of your sensors."
"Got it." The mechanic threw one to him and set it inside the drawer.
Next stop was Alexis' room in the Obelisk Blue girl's dorm, where she placed her key inside a jewelry box. "Well, this is where I keep all my other valuables."
"And here's the next sensor." Xander said and gave it to Chazz.
"Nice work." Zaloog complimented as the black clad Slifer closed the jewelry box and placed the sensor on top.
"Oh, um, sorry..." A beautiful woman with long, brown hair entered the room. She was wearing a white coat with a stethoscope around her neck and held a clipboard in her arms. "I, um, didn't mean to disturb you all."
"Huh? What? Who is this?" The detective asked.
"It's cool. That's Meanae, the school nurse. No one to worry about." Jenny assured him as the woman gave a friendly smile to everyone.
"Usually, that's Ms. Fonda Fontaine's job." Banner explained. "But her job has become a little stressful recently, so the school decided to get an assistant for her."
"I see." The detective mused.
"Now to hide my key." Jenny declared and led everyone to her room. There, she walked over to a desk where she had her own jewelry box. "There." She placed her key inside.
And just like before, Xander gave another sensor to Chazz, and closed the box before placing the sensor on top.
And finally, everyone arrived at Michael's room. "I bet your spirit key will be safe there, Michael." Chumley commented as the Obelisk boy placed his key in a personal safe.
"What makes you think that, Chumley?" Chazz asked sarcastically. "The fact that it's called a safe?" With that said, he was given the last sensor from Xander and placed it inside the safe before closing it.
At that moment, because of Michael's room entrance being opened, Zaloog noticed a man in a uniform with a matching hat and glasses pass by. "Wait! Who's that over there?!"
"Oh, that's just Cliff, the security guard." Banner reassured him. "If anything, he'll make it even more safe." And then, he let out a yawn. "Well, I suppose we can go to sleep soundly now."
"Yes.. quite soundly." Zaloog agreed. "Now children, get to bed. You all must be exhausted."
That night, everyone's fallen asleep. Xander slept peacefully along with his roommates. The alarm he showed everyone was hidden in a drawer. But, a shadowy figure snuck into the room, found the device, and pressed the red button, turning its bulb off, meaning the alarm itself was now off.
Jaden and his roommates slept peacefully as well. None of them were aware of a drill that made a hole on the wall above the junk drawer.
In Andrew's room, he faced the same predicament as Xander as a shadowy figure simply snuck into his room, approached his desk, and opened the drawer where his book safe was hidden.
As Alexis slept peacefully in her dorm room, a vent grate in her ceiling opened, and a thorny whip shot out of it, wrapping itself around her jewelry box, and then pulled it into the vent.
Whoever pulled that stunt did the same thing in Jenny's room.
And finally, Michael slept peacefully in his room, completely unaware of the shadowy figure who snuck in, walked up to the safe, and positioned his light on the lock's number dial.
With all the keys taken, the thieves gathered around the locks of the spirit gates. Three of the slots were lit because of the three keys won by the previous Shadow Riders. The remaining keys were in their own slots... which weren't lit at all.
"And, it's done. All the Spirit keys are ours!"
"So why aren't the gates opening?"
"Yeah, that's the only way we can get those Sacred Beast cards!"
"We must have to do something else..."
"I bet those children know what. So much for doing this the nice way."
Meanwhile, Chazz was sleeping peacefully in his room, until a light shined into his eyes. He woke up and was greeted by the sight of Jaden and Syrus waving their arms. They also seemed to be yelling at him, but because of the earplugs he was wearing, he couldn't hear a thing. He sat up and pulled them out. "Uh, morons? See these little things in my ears? They're earplugs. Now start over."
"Your key! It's vanished, Chazz! Look!" Jaden pointed at the door. Or more like... the broken down door.
"What in the...!? No, it can't be!" He rushed over to the sink cabinet where he hid his key. And it turned out to be broken down, just like the door. "It's gone! How!?"
"Those things in your ears? They make it so you can't hear doors being kicked in!" Jaden pointed out. "It looks like they're back..."
"The Shadow Riders!"
"Come on, we have to tell everyone!"
After gathering the key keepers, plus Syrus, Chumley and Xander, they all sat in Chazz's rather cramped room. "So all your keys are gone too?" Chazz asked.
"I'm afraid so." Shiori replied.
The black clad Slifer turned to Xander. "Looks like they managed to get around your alarm, Xander. Care to explain?"
The mechanic looked embarrassed. "I guess I kinda screwed up. I gave you guys so many sensors that there were no sensor left for me, so I hid the alarm in a drawer in my room. I didn't think they would look for it, but I was wrong, because when I checked the alarm after waking up, it was turned off."
"See, Jaden!?" Chazz glared at the brown-haired Slifer. "And he wasn't wearing earplugs!"
"We'll figure this out!" Everyone turned and saw detective Zaloog standing in the doorway, with Gorg, C.K., Meanae and Cliff standing behind him.
"Detective Zaloog?" Andrew rose to his feet. "What's going on?"
"I rounded up some suspects to help get to the bottom of this most serious crime."
"So, you'll question them?" Jenny asked.
"In due time, after I pose a few questions to you first."
"Huh, whatever!" Jaden agreed and stood up. "After all, he's the detective, right?"
"Wrong." Chazz said, getting everyone's attention. "Something's up."
"What's up?" Jaden asked
"Dude, why don't we just let the detective do his job?" Michael questioned.
"Sorry, but this here's a job for... Chazz Princeton!"
"HUH!?" Everyone was baffled at his declaration, but calmed down after a moment and decided to let him give them his piece of mind.
"Now, everyone who knew where those keys were is in this room, so that means the thief has to be too."
"Yeah... I guess." Syrus agreed. "But how will we find him. I mean, won't we need evidence?"
"You know..." Alexis spoke. "I did see a press-on nail on my bedroom floor."
"Uh oh..." The nurse flinched and glanced at her fingers, noticing one of her red nails missing.
"A press-on nail? That sounds like a very promising clue, Lex. So, where's the press-on nail now?"
"I uh..." Alexis blushed in embarrassment. "...kinda threw it in the garbage."
"The garbage? Well, there goes that lead."
"Yeah, I guess I goofed."
"And what about you, Jenny?" Chazz asked. "Was there anything unusual in your room."
Jenny shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I don't think so."
"Hey, I got one!" Micheal said. "There was a set of foot prints leading right up to my safe."
Cliff was panicking as he noticed the mud on his shoes that were placed on the floor nearby.
"That's perfect, Michael!" Chazz looked at the dark duelist. "What size shoe was it? What was the style of the shoe tread."
"Well, I was about to check, but..." Just like Alexis, he blushed in embarrassment. "I kinda tripped and messed up the prints."
"Oh, that explains the mud on your cheek." Chumley noted.
"Huh?" The dark duelist placed a hand on his right cheek, and was surprised to feel some mud there.
"Did you find something suspicious in your room, Andrew." Chazz turned to the blue-haired Ra.
"I don't think so." Andrew shook his head. "All I found was my opened up drawer with my book safe being empty, and that's all."
"You know..." Jaden turned to Syrus. "There was a hole in the wall of our room."
"It's true."
"And let me guess, Slacker. You already sealed it back up." It was clear that Chazz wasn't surprised by this point.
"Well, um... kind of." Jaden admitted.
"You guys are really something else."
"Hey, thanks." Jaden rubbed the back of his head. "We do what we can."
"That wasn't a compliment, Jaden!" Andrew pointed out, annoyed.
At the same time, C.K. was nervously putting a hand-turn drill behind the couch.
"It's official." Shiori sighed. "Given how bad we are as detectives, we can't find the thief without evidence."
And then... "He did it!" Chazz exclaimed and pointed to Cliff. "And him!" Then C.K. "And him!" Then Gorg. "And her!" And finally Meanae.
Those four people were obviously startled by the accusation, but started to calm down. "Uh... you're basing this on what?" C.K. questioned.
"Yeah, you heard everyone!" The nurse said. "There's no proof. You've got nothing on us!"
"Oh, don't I?" Chazz countered with a smirk.
Detective Zaloog frowned. "Look, how about I ask the questions?"
Chazz merely reached into his blazer. "How about... we hear from them!?" He then pulled out 5 cards and held them up. Those cards were Ojama Yellow, Green, Black, Red and Blue. "See, when we hid each of the spirit keys..."
Flashback
"I hid one of these cards with them. The five of them are kind of my eyes and ears when I'm not around."
Chazz hid his Ojama Yellow in Jaden's junk drawer while before closing it.
He then hid Ojama Green in Andrew's drawer.
Ojama Black was placed inside Alexis' jewelry box.
And Ojama Red was placed inside Jenny's box.
Finally, Ojama Blue was hidden in Michael's safe.
Flashback end
"And in my dorm room... I had all these watching you!" He grabbed a stack of the cards he got from the abandoned well and flicked them between his hands, but lasted a couple of seconds before he dropped them on his bed. "T-the point is... they all saw who did it!"
"Caught ya redhanded!" Black exclaimed.
"Sointly did!" Green pitched in.
"You're so busted!" Yellow added.
"Big time." Blue agreed.
"Somebody, call the cops!" Red yelled.
"Who told you what?" Zaloog asked, confused.
"Really..." Meanae looked around. "I'm lost."
"Where are these so called 'witnesses'?" She, along with Gorg, C.K. and Cliff asked, looking around the room and seeing nothing.
"Well maybe you can't see them, but I can!" Chazz glared at them. "And I know they're behind this, detective!"
But right after he finished that sentence, the detective chuckled evilly. "You're mistaken. It's not just them. It's me too."
"WHAT!?" Everyone exclaimed in shock.
"That's right my children. All of us are in on it. We are the criminal ring known as..." All five of the exposed people threw away their disguises and revealed their true clothing. Brown, tight tank tops and tight, red pants with brown patches. And each one of them had a tattoo of a black scorpion on the shoulder.
"The Dark Scorpions!" They declared, posing together, arms pointed in different directions.
"Uh... sorry, never heard of you." All key keepers, plus friends, said together.
"Of course you haven't." Zaloog replied with a smirk. "We've been in deep undercover at your school for years now, waiting for our chance to nab those keys."
"And now, the Scorpions finally have them!" They said together.
"So?" Chazz smirked back. "To use them, you'll still have to beat me in a duel. So bring it on!"
"Why you? I'll duel." Jaden objected.
"I'll take them on." Alexis jumped in.
"Or me." Jenny added.
"I would like to have a crack at them." Shiori said.
"Same here." Andrew replied.
"Well too bad! The Chazz got the first dibs, so back off!"
"Okay, fine. If you insist." Michael replied.
Zaloog grabbed a duel disk nearby. "Of course! That's it! Why the keys didn't work! Ha!" He laughed and put it on his arm. "We have to beat them in a duel!"
"Got that right!" Chazz stood up with his own duel disk ready. "So let's go, Shadow Rider!"
Everyone left the dorm room and walked outside. Chazz and Zaloog were standing opposite each other. The key keepers were standing behind Chazz, while the remaining Dark Scorpions were standing behind their leader, each carrying their own weapon. Gorg was holding a giant, spiked mace, Meanae had a whip, Cliff held a dagger, and C.K. carried a big mallet.
All this commotion managed to get Banner out of his room. "(yawn) What's going on?"
"The Shadow Riders are back!" Andrew replied and pointed to Zaloog's group. "And the detective is one of them!"
"Oh my..." Banner gasped.
"Duel!" Chazz and Zaloog shouted and drew their opening hands.
Chazz: 4000
Zaloog: 4000
"I'll win this as easy..." Zaloog drew his sixth card. "...as I stole your keys! First, I'll summon Golem Sentry in defense mode!" A stone doorway with arms appeared, wielding a spear. (ATK: 800 DEF: 1800 LV: 4) "Next I place a card facedown. That'll do for now." Zaloog concluded as a card appeared at his feet.
"My turn!" Chazz drew. "I play the spell card, Fiend's Sanctuary! With this card, I can summon a Metal Fiend Token to the field!" A grey figure made of built up metal balls appeared. (ATK: 0 DEF: 0 LV: 1) "And now, I'll sacrifice my Fiend Token... to bring out... Armed Dragon LV 5!" The token disappeared and was replaced by Chazz's spiked, dark and red dragon. (ATK: 2400 DEF: 1700 LV: 5) "Go, Armed Dragon! Use those arms to destroy that Golem! Spiked Spinner!" The brutish looking dragon spun its arms in a rapid whirlwind as it quickly made its way to the other side and rammed the stone doorway with its claws, sending a smoke cloud all around the field. "Alright! And for my next move, I'm gonna place two facedowns..." Two cards appeared at his feet. "Then I'll use my dragon's ability. And, it's a big one..." In a flash of light, the dragon was now standing on the field in its evolved form. (ATK: 2800 DEF: 1000 LV: 7)
"Got that right!" Jaden nodded. "On the turn Armed Dragon LV 5 wins a fight... well then, you can trade him in..."
"For a LV 7." Chazz filled in.
"Level him up all you want, it won't matter! And you're about to see why!" Zaloog declared and drew. "First, I play Pot of Greed. It lets me draw two more cards from my deck." After drawing his extra cards, he looked at them. One of them made him smirk. "Just what I wanted: The one and only, Don Zaloog!"
Everyone was surprised by hearing the name of his next card.
"And when I say 'the one and only', I really mean it. Because, my children..." Zaloog placed the card on his duel disk, and then... he moved onto the field, where a monster would be! "I am him!" (ATK: 1400 DEF: 1500 LV: 4)
Syrus blinked. "Wait so..."
"He's a card?" Chumley asked.
"So we're dealing with a duel spirit? Again?" Shiori questioned.
Andrew then noted the golden eyepatch Zaloog. "The eyepatch! It must be some kind of Shadow Charm that gives him a physical form!"
"Precisely. And it's not just me, because with this..." Zaloog said and held up a spell card. "Mustering of the Dark Scorpions... I can summon all of them. That's right. All the Dark Scorpions in my hand, come join me on the field. Now Scorpion, roll call!"
"Rolls? Who's got the rolls?" Gorg wondered cluelessly as he and his comrades joined their boss on the field. (ATK: 1800 DEF: 1500 LV: 5) "Where are the rolls?"
"He means say your name, Gorg." Corrected Meanae. "I'm Meanae the Thorn. (ATK: 1000 DEF: 1800 LV: 4)
"The name's Cliff the Trap Remover." The dagger wielding man introduced himself. (ATK: 1200 DEF: 1000 LV: 3) "Guess how I remove them."
"I'm Chick the Yellow!" The youngest member announced while jumping up and down. (ATK: 1000 DEF: 1000 LV: 3) "I'm six foot... when I jump up!"
"And together we're the Dark Scorpions!"
'Losers.' Chazz thought to himself.
"Now I'll play a trap!" Zaloog announced. And since Chick was standing right in front of the trap card in question, he stepped aside to let everyone see it. "You see, on the first turn that all the Dark Scorpions are out, this trap allows each of us to attack you directly. And for every one of those attacks, you lose 400 life points. Now let him have it! Dark Scorpion Combination!" At that, the Dark Scorpions ran towards Chazz, weapons at the ready.
"Take this! Thorn Whip!" Meanae shouted and lashed out with her whip.
"Double Blast Attack!" Zaloog pulled out two pistols and fired two shots.
"Scorpion Slice!" Cliff struck with his dagger.
"Mallet Mash!" Chick swung his hammer.
"Hammer Hammer!" Gorg finished, raising his mace.
Once all five attacks struck Chazz, the Dark Scorpions returned to their field. And then, Chazz recoiled and cried out in pain.
"This isn't how you wanna start a duel!" Jaden stated.
Chazz: 4000-2000
Zaloog chuckled. "And there's more too. For you see, Chazz, now our special abilities go into effect against you."
"Say what!?"
"That's right. So first a monster on your field must return to the top of your deck." Gorg explained as Armed Dragon LV 7 disappeared.
"And then next, a card on your field returns to your hand." Chick pitched as one of Chazz's facedown cards went back to his hand.
"There's more." Cliff spoke up. "The top two cards of your deck? They go to the grave." Chazz growled as he was forced to get rid of his Armed Dragon and the spell card, Level Up.
"And then one card in your hand is destroyed." Zaloog added, forcing Chazz to get rid of a trap card with the picture of Ojama Blue and Red.
"And finally, a card with 'Dark Scorpion' in its name can be added to our hand from the graveyard." Meanae said as Don Zaloog picked the trap card he used a moment.
"And I'll pick this, Dark Scorpion Combination. The card that started it all. And now it'll end it all!"
"That's not good." Xander said.
"Stay tough, Chazz!" Jaden called out. "You can beat these guys!"
"Hello! Of course I can!" The black clad Slifer replied, annoyed. "Now be quiet, and let The Chazz do his thing! I play Level Bond!" His facedown card flipped up. "Now you get to draw two cards, and I get to summon from the grave... a high level monster without paying a dime! And I choose Armed Dragon LV 7!" With a flash of bright, red light, Chazz's let out a roar as it returned. (ATK: 2800 DEF: 1000 LV: 7)
"Him again?" Zaloog growled and drew two cards. "You give me no choice but to play two facedowns and the spell card, Backup Squad." Two facedown cards, and a spell card appeared behind the Dark Scorpions.
"I hate it when this guy place facedowns." Complained Syrus.
"And one of them is obviously Dark Scorpion Combination." Shiori replied.
"True, but I know that Chazz can prevent them from using that." Andrew said.
"It's my turn!" Chazz drew. "And first, Armed Dragon LV 7's effect activates! Now by sending one monster card in my hand to the grave, monsters with attack points equal or fewer than my discarded one are destroyed. And the card I'm discarding is Despair from the Dark! 2800 attack points!"
"Hold it! I play a trap!" Zaloog interrupted and revealed one of his facedown cards. "Retreat of the Dark Scorpions! Now all Dark Scorpions on the field retreat to my hand!" And so, Zaloog and his comrades ran off the field.
Chazz was staring at a short moment before moving on. "Fine, I'll attack directly! Armed Dragon, go get him! Dragon Sonic Sphere!" The giant dragon launched a ball of energy from its hand, getting a direct hit, causing the Dark Scorpion leader to cry out.
Zaloog: 4000-1200
"Oh no!" Chick and Gorg cried out.
"How dare he strike the boss like that!?" Cliff snapped.
"Don't worry, we'll get him back." Meanae swore.
"Indeed we will." Zaloog muttered after recovering. "Especially since Backup Squad lets me draw two cards from my deck. One for every 1000 points of damage I just took." He drew his extra cards.
"I place one card facedown and end my turn." Chazz concluded and inserted a card into his deck.
"Then it's my move, and it ends here!" Zaloog drew. "I summon myself, Don Zaloog again!" He placed his card on the duel disk and moved onto the field again. (ATK: 1400 DEF: 1500 LV: 4) "Then I'll play, Mustering of the Dark Scorpions! Welcome back, team!" That earned him some cheers from them.
"Sorry, they're not back yet!" Chazz interrupted and revealed his facedown. "I play Ojama Trio!"
Before the other Dark Scorpions could be summoned, Ojama Yellow, Green and Black crowded the field. Black was doing some pushups. Green was picking his nose. And Yellow was drinking some kind of hot drink. (ATK: 0 DEF: 1000 LV: 2) x3 "Hey, wait a sec! Why are they on our field?" Cliff questioned.
"So that you all can't be." Chazz explained with a smug look. "See, Ojama Trio creates Ojama Tokens, and they take up three of your monster slots. And when destroyed, you lose 300 life points."
Zaloog growled at him before glaring at those tokens.
"Sorry pal." Black apologized while doing sit-ups.
"Thanks for having us." Green said, still picking his nose.
"I just love hot chocolate." Yellow said, enjoying his drink.
"So we can't come out? No fair!" Chick protested.
"I can. Go on Boss, do what you have to do!" Meanae said and stepped forward, right next to Zaloog. (ATK: 1000 DEF: 1800 LV: 4)
"Meanae... I'll never forget you for this." He said solemnly before holding up a spell card. "I play Dark Scorpion - Tragedy of Love! When Don Zaloog and Meanae the Thorn are on the field, I can send Meanae to the graveyard to destroy all of your monsters!"
Meanae leapt high in the air and let out a battle cry as she lashed out her whip, wrapping it around the Armed Dragon's neck. And then, an electrical current coursed through, blowing up the monster. But the explosion sent Meanae flying. "Avenge me Boss, avenge meeee!"
Zaloog gritted his teeth as he saw her flying, before turning back to his opponent. "I sure will! I attack you directly! Double Blast Attack!" He pulled out his pistols and fired at Chazz.
Chazz: 2000-0600
"And now, my special ability activates! You have to discard one random card from your hand!"
"Actually, it'd be my pleasure." Chazz replied with a smirk, confusing the Dark Scorpion. "Cuz the only card in my hand is... Ojamagic. And when this card is sent to the graveyard... well then, Ojama Yellow, Green and Black all come to my hand." He discarded the named spell card, and took the three Ojamas from his deck. "And with that done, I activate a trap card from my graveyard!" His graveyard slot ejected a certain card.
"Your graveyard?" The people from both sides repeated.
"That's right. This is the card you made me discard the first time. Ojama Duo. And by removing this card from play, I can summon two more Ojamas from my deck. Now come on out, Ojama Red and Ojama Blue!" The red and blue duo appeared on Chazz's field.
"Oh yeah! Now I get to have some fun!" Red screamed. (ATK: 0 DEF: 1000 LV: 2)
"The air is pretty good tonight." Blue said. (ATK: 0 DEF: 1000 LV: 2)
"You must have a screw loose if you think can win with those things." Zaloog insulted. "But just in case, I place one card facedown and end my turn." A card appeared behind the Ojama Trio.
"Then it's my turn!" Chazz drew a card.
"And now I play Gift of the Mystical Elf!" Zaloog's facedown card flipped up. "Now I gain 300 life points for every monster on the field, and including myself, that's six. Therefore, I gain 1800 life points." He was momentarily surrounded by a blue aura.
Zaloog: 1200-3000
"That won't save you from what I and the Ojamas have in store." Chazz said.
"Bring them out! They don't scare me!"
"Yeah, well... we'll see what I can do to change that! Go, Pot of Greed!" Chazz drew two extra cards. "And next, I play Polymerization! Scared yet? You will be." He then held up three cards. "Do your thing, Ojamas!" Duplicates of the Ojama Trio appeared on his field.
"You got it!" Yellow cried out and jumped up.
"Time to show these numbskulls!" Black pitched before joining him.
"It sointently is!" Green agreed and jumped.
When all three of them bumped into one another, the sky was lit up with different colors. Everyone watched as they merged together. "Ojama King!" A new voice cried out.
"What is this?" Zaloog questioned while all 5 Ojamas cheered for the arrival of the new monster, who called himself Ojama King. He was a huge, white and round creature with a big nose and stalk eyes. He was wearing bikini briefs, a green cape and another set of bikini briefs over his head with a small crown overtop. (ATK: 0 DEF: 3000 LV: 6)
"Now, I play my spell card. Ojamuscle."
After Chazz played his spell card, Ojama King strained for a second, turning his body into a muscular one. From a large six-pack, to arms of huge muscles. He then eyed on the other Ojamas on the field. "Ojamas! Come to Daddy!" He then opened his mouth and used his big, fat tongue to scoop up Ojama Red and Blue, and then, the Ojama Tokens, causing Don Zaloog to slightly freak out as he avoided that slimy thing. Ojama King then pulled them into his mouth and swallowed them, making puffs of smoke pop around him.
"Ojamuscle destroys all Ojama monsters out." Chazz explained. "And for every one that's destroyed... King gains 1000 attack points. Oh, and since three of them were Ojama Tokens, you now lose 900 life points." Three puffs of smoke popped around Zaloog.
Zaloog: 3000-2100
"And now, King's attack points will rise, to 5000!" (ATK: 0-5000) "Now go, Ojama King! Attack Don with Flying Belly Flop Drop!"
The muscular Ojama jumped high up in the air and flew over Zaloog. "INCOMING!" He shouted a moment right before he fell down like a rock and landed on top of Don Zaloog.
Zaloog: 2100-0000
His friends cheered.
"You won!" Chumley cheered.
"Way to duel, Chazz!" Jaden added.
"Bye-bye." The black clad Slifer simply said.
"No... this can't be... we can't lose..." Zaloog muttered as he was dizzy and unable to get up. And then, his golden eyepatch illuminated brightly while his comrades tried to rush over to him. But they all disappeared in bursts of light, leaving several cards behind.
Chazz walked over to where his opponent was, and picked up what was left of him: The golden eyepatch, and the Don Zaloog card. "Well guys... guess that's one less Shadow Rider we have to worry about."
"Good riddance, I say." Jenny said with a nod.
"That's what you get for trying to steal." Andrew added.
"But at least the keys are back in their right hands." Shiori said and picked up the keys that were left behind.
"Yes, and that's all it matters." Banner agreed before retreating to his room.
"But where's Don Zaloog, and the other Scorpions?" Alexis wondered.
"Don't know, but Chazz seems concerned." Jaden noted. "Wonder why."
Chazz ignored everyone and stared at the card he picked up.
Later that night, Chazz put his earplugs in his ears and climbed up in his bed. He was about to go to sleep, but opened one eye, to see all his duel spirits, including the Ojamas, and the newly joined Dark Scorpions, having fun. "You sure know how to throw a good party, Ojama Yellow!" Don Zaloog said with a cup in his hand.
"And we're going all night!" Yellow replied.
"Hey, where's Ojama King?" Meanae wondered.
"He comes late, likes to make a big entrance!"
"That's dynamite." Don Zaloog commented.
Well, that wasn't too hard. I hope you guys liked the differences between this chapter and the episode. Until next time.
