Chapter 15: Nino=Trouble

Obviously, Utaha could see what was inside Shido's bento, and she was shocked by its content.

She did not expect him to be this loved by his little sister, who prepared such delicacy for him. But, it seemed terrifying, since this proved to be more of a lover's meal than a sister's.

A sis-con and a bro-con loving each other, is that really okay?

Utaha felt dizzy thinking about it. She had seen a lot of ACGN with the brother-sister route, some of which she actually enjoyed, but this was the first time she experienced it in real life!

She wanted to stop this madness, after all, brothers and sisters shouldn't be crossing the line. Otherwise, they might regret it for the rest of their lives.

If Shido knew what Utaha was thinking about, he might explain to her that they were not related by blood. Perhaps this would solve everything.

But unfortunately, he couldn't read Utaha's mind, so this misunderstanding continued!

Shido finished his bento, checked the time on his phone, and decided to go back to the classroom.

"Senpai, I am heading back to class."

Utaha nodded without saying a word. She was still contemplating what method she should execute to stop Shido and his sister from crossing the line.

Shido was relieved that she didn't reply, so he could leave in peace.

When he got back to class, there was still some time left before the afternoon classes started. He checked his surroundings: A lot of students were chatting, playing card games, or running. Nothing special.

But there was one thing Shido cared about: Tomoya was nowhere to be seen. Judging from his character, he must be looking for the heroines of his show.

Utaha was still on the roof, so perhaps he was with Eriri Spencer Sawamura?

Recalling the ending of the show, Shido couldn't help but feel bad for Eriri. She dedicated her heart and soul to this guy, who rejected her feelings in the end, leaving her crying in the corner all alone.

Shido thought to himself: Maybe, just maybe, I should step up and help her like I did with Utaha?

But before he could formulate a plan, a delicate hand with pink nail polish slammed on Shido's table, almost making him jump.

Hold on, isn't it against the school rules to apply nail polish?

The owner of this delicate hand yelled:

"Hey!"

Shido raised his head, and the girl in front of him was Nakano… Nino.

She had long, reddish-pink hair with square bangs hanging over her eyebrows, along with twin butterfly-shaped ribbons on both sides of her head. Like her sisters, she had dark blue eyes, an average height, a well-endowed figure and large breasts.

But, to Shido's surprise, what business did she have with him?

"Nakano-san, what can I do for you?"

"What did you do to Itsuki?"

Nino asked, gritting her teeth. Judging from her expression, it seemed like she thought Shido did something perverted to her little sister.

The commotion attracted everyone's attention in class…

Shido disliked being in the center of attention. He felt completely innocent under Nino's accusation since he did nothing to Itsuki.

He wasn't the type to get mad easily. He wanted to get more information first.

"Itsuki? Who is that?"

"My little sister. Didn't you see her this morning?"

Nino frowned, gazing at Shido intently. Itsuki asked her about Shido during lunch break. At first she felt it was normal, but then she saw the excitement in her eyes. It was like she was in love or anything.

Nino felt danger immediately, thinking that someone might lure her sister away, so she came all the way and confronted Shido.

But now, there seemed to be a misunderstanding, for Shido didn't know anything about Itsuki. Even so, she wanted to know what happened this morning.

Shido recalled this morning, and thought for a moment:

"Oh yes, there was a girl who looked like you in the morning. But I never spoke to her."

"Then how did she…"

Nino gritted her teeth, but stopped herself in the middle of the sentence. Nothing made sense to her anymore.

At lunch break, Itsuki asked her sisters who sat together, "Any of you know about that boy named Shido Itsuka? He has short blue hair, ample brown eyes, and a gentle expression on his face."

"No!"

"No idea!"

"I don't know."

All the other siblings shook their heads.

But Nino stayed silent. She knew only one person fit Itsuki's description, and that would be Shido. For some reason, she knew that the word "gentle" described him perfectly, despite the fact that he never interacted with girls.

When she heard that Itsuki was looking for this guy, she felt a bit worried. After all, all Itsuki ever focused on was food. But now she was interested in a boy!

Therefore, Nino asked Itsuki tentatively:

"Itsuki, why do you want to learn about him?"

"Dunno, just sort of interested…"

Itsuki replied with a slight blush on her face.

Interested?

Nino was utterly shocked: The meat-bun-loving Itsuki is interested in boys now!

Also, what did she mean that this Shido was gentle? What did he do to her?

Her first intuition was: My little sister got fooled! He must have lured her with a bag of meat buns or something. That's why she believed him to be gentle.

Nino was so worried that she decided to go and confront Shido about this right away!

Little did she know that Itsuki had no interest in Shido romantically, for she already knew that he had a beautiful girlfriend.

Itsuki just wanted to know how Shido was fitting in at school…

And now, Nino concluded that Shido was the one Itsuki was asking for. Also, nothing really happened between the two of them. But still, she wanted to know what got Itsuki interested in him.

Nino felt her legs tired from standing too long, so she asked the boy sitting in front of Shido with a gentle smile:

"Sorry, could you let me sit here for a while?"

"Sure, please sit as long as you like!"

The boy flattered and got up immediately.

(Yeah, keep simping)

Shido had no idea how long Nino intended to talk, but it was not up to him to decide.

Nino sat down and winked at Shido,

"Which one of us is prettier, Me or Itsuki?"

"You."

Shido answered subconsciously. When he realized what he said, he couldn't take it back anymore.

This was his "muscle memory". In his earlier dating training, he practiced praising the girl who compared herself with another girl. It was always the right answer!

But Nino didn't know any of this. When she heard Shido's compliments, she was really happy. Every girl loved it when others praised them for their beauty, which proved that their makeup was successful.

Nino looked the same as her sisters, but she was the more fashionable girl among them, as she had various cute accessories and took great care of her nails.

After regaining her composure, Nino asked Shido,

"Itsuki is an innocent girl, and I really hope that she won't get lured by others… You see what I mean?"

"Of course, I won't lay a finger on her!"

Shido patted on his chest and assured her. He had no interest in her anyway.

"Great!"

Nino smiled contentedly. It seemed like Shido was an honest boy, and he would fulfill his promise.

Plus, he admitted that she was prettier than Itsuki.

And then, she realized that Shido looked pretty handsome, not to mention that he was tolerant enough not to get mad at her for accusing him of luring her sister.

Maybe, just maybe, she could try going out with him.

Nino was shocked by this sudden thought. She quickly got up and left the classroom. But before stepping out, she turned her head and glanced at Shido over her shoulders.

She wanted to check with Itsuki, confirming if she was interested in him. If so, she would help her sister go out with him. If not, she would examine Shido and see if she should go out with him herself.

That was pretty much what she was plotting.

Little did Nino know that everything she plotted was pointless. After all, Shido had his Spirits, currently unavailable for more girls!

Shido exhaled in relief. He considered himself lucky that Nino let go of him so easily.

Talking to anime girls that he knew really put a load on his shoulders. All he wanted to do was go out with Spirits, nothing more.

But recently, his encounter with girls increased dramatically, which started to worry him a little. He felt guilty for Spirits for letting this happen.

"You damn traitor!"

Tomoya suddenly emerged out of nowhere, grabbing Shido by the shoulders.

Shido was surprised for a second, then he returned to normal. He could pretty much guess what was wrong with him: Something about 2D girls!

Shido simply took Tomoya's hands off his shoulders.

"Only 2D girls are waifus! Why don't you understand?"

Tomoya shouted.

"You told me that you loved Naruto and One Piece. There are a lot of beautiful girls like Hinata, Sakura, Nami, Robin…Why would you like 3D girls?"

Shido was right. This guy must have seen him talking to Nino, that's why he got all worked up.

Shido simply smirked,

"What about you? Why did you see 3D girls during lunch break?"

"..."

Tomoya's face turned pale, unsure what to say. He went to his childhood friend, and she was a 3D girl.

Shido sneered, advancing his point:

"You hypocrite otaku! Of course you like 3D girls too!"

"No, I was…"

Tomoya tried to explain, but Shido interrupted him:

"Give me one reason why 3D girls suck."

Tomoya took the bait and blurted out,

"Of course they suck! They are violent, jealous, arrogant, always fighting with each other. What good do you see in them!?"

With this, Shido would have to believe in him.

Tomoya looked at Shido confidently. But, Shido was looking in the direction behind Tomoya…
