This is all your fault Josh... (ROTFL) I never planned to write a second part. But here it is.
Have fun!
Thanks to all the people who left a little note. It's good to know you liked the story and feedback is always welcomed (happy grin).
Border line
The moment she had set foot in the hall, he had known. He had always had s strange awareness of her presence and emotions. She could go through mood swings and he would feel it. Even her insomnia had kept him awake some nights. It didn't bother him thought; her presence was like a subtle flowery scent on a warm summer night. It was pleasant, sometimes heady, and often made him wonder if there wasn't more to it.
He had never meant to kiss Shalimar in the first place. He had never planned to hurt Emma. Shal had been there, staring at him with lustful eyes and all the objections he might have had had gone through the window.
It was only when he had felt Emma that he had realized the extent of his mistake. He head roughly pushed the feral aside but it was already too late. He knew she had gone to her bedroom; he could feel her inside, fell her sadness. So here he was in front of her door, one hand on the door handle, the other in the air, balled up in a fist as if he was ready to knock.
He desperately wanted to tell her, to explain what he had done. But that door, separating them, was a clear indication she didn't want anything from him. For she knew he was outside. Their connection worked both ways.
He lacked any courage again. It was unusual for a man like him. He could fight many agents at the same time; but facing her was close to impossible. In their tentative relationship, she had always been the one to take the first step. And even today, when he was the one who had made a mistake, he was waiting for her to open that door. To take the first step. Again.
After a few minutes, he rested his forehead and palms against the door. He wanted to call her. But the sadness he felt coming from inside the room, froze him. It took him several other minutes to leave her door.
That night, as he got ready to sleep, the lingering smell faded, leaving in his mind a bitter sense of loneliness.
Emma had cut their link.
