I don't own Teen Titans

Airen winced and hissed in pain as Mi'nah cleaned and applied medicine to her raw and bloody back.

"I'm sorry your highness. I know it hurts." Mi'nah muttered sympathetically.

"Ah! Don't, *hiss* worry about it Mi'nah. I've had worse." Airen grunted.

"Yes, but still," Airen heard Mi'nah sigh. "With all due respect highness, why do you allow him to do this to you? You and I both know that you could…."

"Beat him senseless? Put him in the infirmary for the rest of his pathetic life? Or better yet, kill him altogether?"

"Yes."

"We've been over this Mi'nah. The last time I fought back he only made it ten times worse, and he tried to take it out on one of my siblings. If I try to fight back even a little bit, he will go after my family. That was the deal. I won't let that happen. Because of me, they spent a year at his mercy with no protection at all. A year too long. I am not putting them through that again."

"Yes, your highness."

A knock on the door interrupted them.

"Enter!" Airen yelled a smidge louder than she intended due to something touching an open wound on her leg.

Mi'nah muttered another apology as Aunt Komi swept into the room.

"Good news! I-" she stopped mid-sentence when she saw Airen and Mi'nah. "What in X'hal's name…!"

Airen shot Komi a "really? You have to ask?" look. Realization dawned on Komi's face.

"Oh, Air'i…what was it this time?"

"Mar'i, gah! Mar'i broke the Shinta's "welcome to the throne, please don't kill us" statue in the great hall this afternoon." Airen winced.

"How could she possibly-"

"She and a bunch of other teenagers were there for an etiquette lesson and while the teacher was distracted some of them bet that Mar'i couldn't hit the damn thing with her star bolts or something like that."

"Aha. Well, I shall have to talk to Mar'i about the appropriate times in using star bolts and not allowing simple-minded teenagers to goad her into something so childish." Aunt Komi said in irritation.

"I already did," Airen said.

"You-what?"

"I already had a talk with her. She knows that she shouldn't have complied, and she'll make sure the statue gets fixed. I've taken the personal punishment, and now it's behind us. It's time to move on."

"Air'i," Komi said in a scolding tone, "You do not have to do all of this! You are not her parent, it's not your job to-"

"Really? Yes, it is my job! I don't see any parents around here to take over! Do you?"

Komi glared at her. "That was low Air'iand'r, and you know it. Your mother would-"

"Be here if she could, I know. But I was doing this long before she was arrested, and you know it."

Komi was silent, so Airen continued.

"I'm the oldest. It's my job to protect and provide for them since our parents can't. Even you can't do everything that they are supposed to be doing, but I can. So, it's my job too."

There was a heavy silence in the room for several minutes. Finally, when Airen couldn't stand it anymore, she spoke up.

"What was the "good news" you came in here to tell me?"

"Oh, yeah. Um, all of the invitations have been sent out. I made sure of it."

"Thank you, Aunt Komi."

"I still don't understand why you wanted to invite half of the universe to the treaty signing," Mi'nah said quietly.

"The Nokra thrive on attention, especially with grand events that are thrown in their honor. The larger we make this event, the better allies we make in their eyes. Besides, the more potential allies we invite, the more we can show off ourselves as potential allies for them. We can also showcase our skills in negotiating and other political aspects. Which we can use to build our political allies. We can also use this event to expand our resources, political network, and make connections." Airen explained.

"We can also use this as an opportunity to canvas other planets and allies as potential safe havens should something happen and we need to, ah, leave quickly," Komi stated.

"Ah," Mi'nah said from above Airen.

Suddenly something that felt like the fires from the planet Rager's forges was pressed firmly into Airen's back.

"YIEEE!" Airen yelped.

"Sorry, your highness!" Mi'nah said, but the pain didn't stop. If anything, it became more intense.

Komi rolled her eyes.

"You are going to have to get this under control before the treaty signing. We very well can't have our own Crown Princess yowling in pain through the whole event."

Airen bit down on her sheet-covered fist, tears stinging the edges of her eyes.

"And what do you suggest I do about it?" She gulped weakly.

"I don't know, but something. This is getting ridiculous! Last week it was because Ryan failed a test. The week before that Or'lan didn't meet his standards on some stupid requirement. The last thing we need is for someone to speak out of turn or something and you end up in the infirmary and miss the whole thing."

"Okay, okay! I got it! I-Owwww!"

"Sorry highness."

Komi tried not to look amused. "I'll just leave the two of you to it."

"X'hal!"

"Sorry!"

"I'm going."

A slapping sound rang through the Bat Cave as a piece of paper landed on the desk. Bruce looked at the paper then up at his oldest son with a raised brow.

"I deserve to go more than anyone else. And you can't stop me, I'm a grown adult. Even if you tried, I would find a way-"

"Dick." Bruce turned to fully face his son. "Are you sure you're ready?"

"I-yes."

"You may not like what you find."

"I don't care! Damnit, Bruce! This isn't about liking what I find any more, I just need answers! I need to know what happened to her." Dick had prepared himself for this conversation since he had gotten the invitation. He knew that this was one of Bruce's few probable reactions to this conversation. Dick knew that Bruce had a point, hell, if the roles were reversed, he would be making the same points. But he didn't care. He needed to know. He needed to know that he truly did everything in his power to find her. That his failure wasn't due to lack of trying. That he hadn't given up too soon. That even if she wasn't still alive, she had passed on without regrets. On top of that, he had a theory that he wanted to test.

"And you're prepared for what that might be?"

"Yes." Dick crossed his arms as his steely blue eyes held Bruce's brown ones.

Bruce studied his son for a moment then nodded.

"That's what I thought. That's why I was the one who sent you the invitation." Bruce said as he turned back to the computer.

"I-you….wait, what?" Dick stuttered confused.

"I sent you the invitation or a copy of it. I knew that you would want to go, should go even. Provided you have an excuse for Melissa?"

"Work trip. Already told her." Dick hurried to say.

Bruce nodded. "Good. Then you're in."

"Great. Who else is going?"

"You're going."

A single piece of paper landed with a soft slap on the desk in front of Johnathan. He looked up, startled at whoever had disturbed him, which turned out to be his mother.

"Going to what?" he asked slightly annoyed.

Raven leaned up against the desk facing her son with a raised brow and nodded at the piece of paper.

"Read it."

Johnathan reached for the paper as he eyed his mom suspiciously. Looking down he realized that it was an invitation. Throwing his mom another skeptical glance, Johnathan picked up the invitation.

The Planet Tameran's Royal Delegation and High Council Invite:

The Azarathian Royal Delegation

To:

Witness the singing of The Tameranian and The Nokran Peace Treaty

Celebration to follow

When:

September 4th

Where:

The Tameranian Royal Palace, Capital City of Forthdrack, Tameran

Special Note:

We would be honored to have your attendance.

-Grand Ruler of Tameran

Johnathan looked up at his mom in disbelief.

"I thought they wanted nothing to do with the rest of the universe?"

Raven shrugged. "So did we, but apparently either they're under new management or something else is going on. Either way, we're going. All of us."

"Mom, no. I can't! I'm only here for a few days to help you with Azrael. I have a job I have to get back to and the search! I can't just leave it behind." Johnathan protested.

Raven gave him the "mom glare".

"You're going. End of discussion. You can take a leave of absence at work; we've made enough progress with Azrael that the monks can take it from here. You're the prince of Azarath, which means that any events that require the presence of the royal delegation includes you. As for the search," Raven sighed. "Perhaps it's time to consider that maybe, just maybe, you haven't found Airen yet because she doesn't want to be found."

Johnathan sat back in his chair letting his mother's words sink in. After several moments of silence, she continued.

"Be packed and ready to go by 8 am. We're leaving in the morning."

With that Raven left her son's room to let him ponder the last thought she had given him on Airen's disappearance.

Johnathan hated layovers. They gave him too much time to occupy. He sighed as he rummaged through his desk at the precinct. True to Raven's word, the Logan crew had left Azarath the next morning. They had arrived at the Logan townhouse in Gotham to kill a day or two until the Justice League was ready to depart. Apparently, the Logan's would be riding with the delegation that the League was sending.

The stop-over gave both Johnathan and Violet, who was also being required to go, time to take care of a few things. They both needed to swing by their apartments to pack for an extra week or two, check the mail, bills and throw out any food that would go bad while they were gone. They both also needed to let their bosses, and in Violet's case, school know that they would be out for another week or two. Johnathan also needed to grab a few things from his office and check on the progress of the search.

"Hey man! I didn't expect to see you for another day or two!" Tony greeted as he came in.

"Well don't get used to it. I'm just here to check on a few things and then I have to leave for another week or two. Family emergency." Johnathan quipped as he looked for a certain file that he had left locked up in his desk.

"If you're looking for the Marquis case file it's already in archives," Tony said refilling his coffee mug.

"Why?" Johnathan asked, his head popping up from his drawer. Tony shrugged.

"I got bored. So, I finished it and filed it for you. It's been pretty quiet around here since the Noler incident."

Johnathan rolled his eyes. "Don't remind me."

Johnathan expected a sarcastic quip of some kind or an inappropriate joke in response. At Tony's silence, Johnathan looked up. Tony was looking into his coffee mug forlornly as though something was on his mind.

"What's wrong?" Johnathan asked, suddenly concerned for his friend.

"There's something else," Tony said hesitantly. "A couple of people called while you were out. You know, those favors you called in?"

Johnathan's heart lept into his throat at the prospect of making some headway on looking for Airen finally. It then sunk back down to his stomach as Tony's eyes met his own.

"They wouldn't tell me much, but it was clear they weren't able to find anything."

Tony's pitying look did nothing to help the sting in his heart, nor the wail of the Beast within. Johnathan clenched his teeth and looked away.

"Those were my last leads." He muttered quietly.

Tony shuffled his feet. "Tell you what, why don't we go to dinner and talk about it, sound good?"

Johnathan nodded.

"Alright, meet me at Antonio's at 8. Whatever you need to do man. Rant, sit in silence, get wasted…. I'm here man."

"Thanks," Johnathan said with a small smile.

His job done for the moment; Tony left the office. Once Tony was gone, Johnathan slammed his fist into the desk.

'How could they have not found anything!? Those were my last connections! My last leads!'

"Not entirely."

Johnathan looked up from the desk and at the mini-fridge. Striding over to it, he yanked the door open and found the vial. He had promised himself and Airen that he wouldn't use it, but desperate times called for desperate measures.

"I'm not sure what you want me, expect me, to find, but this is pretty old…." Fenton, the resident lab tech looked between the vial and Johnathan skeptically.

"I just need you to run a DNA check. You know, paternity, medical issues, any past or current warrants….that type of stuff."

"I don't know…"

"Fenton please, I'm desperate. This is my last chance to find this person." Johnathan pleaded.

Fenton sighed. "Fine…what's the case number?"

"No case number."

Fenton looked like he was trying to swallow the world's largest horse pill.

"No case number?! What, exactly, is this for?"

"Personal favor."

"For you, or for me?" Fenton asked suspiciously.

"Well…"

"Oh, uh-huh. I am not getting wrapped up in a lawsuit and disciplinary action waiting to happen." Fenton crossed his arms. "You need a case number for me to run anything. New or old."

Johnathan rolled his eyes. "Fine, run it under case number 246892."

Fenton frowned and turned to his computer. After typing for a minute, he pushed up his glasses and read the screen. "Th-that's the Noler case file. I thought that was open and close?"

Johnathan shrugged. "Call this a hunch. Just run it okay?"

Fenton eyed him and vial as though just looking at them would get him fired. He probably wasn't too far off. After a moment's hesitation, he took the vial.

"Thanks, Fenton, I owe you one."

"Oh, you owe me far more than just one."

"Table for two please," Tony told the maître d' at Antonio's later that evening.

While they were waiting to be seated Tony tried to distract Johnathan by playing an old club game of theirs. They would gage the room of the female occupants and each rate them on their personal 1 to 10 scale based entirely on looks of course.

Johnathan appreciated Tony's thought process, but the game just didn't seem the same to him. He would rate the women, but he kept finding himself comparing them to Airen. This one's ass wasn't as filled out. That one's curves weren't right. Too much makeup. Not enough in the right places. He even went from gaging brunettes which were his usual go-to, to blondes. They were even worse. Their hair was too light or too dark. Eyes weren't the right color. It got to the point that Tony called the whole game off altogether.

Once they were seated with drinks in front of them and their food orders placed, Tony got down to business.

"You want to tell me what this is all about?"

Johnathan sighed. "I don't know man. I just can't seem to find her no matter how much I try."

Tony shook his head. "Not that man. I mean why are you even trying? She left a note, didn't she?"

"Well, yeah…."

"And it said that she left of her own free will, right?"

"Yeah but-"

"And it said not to come looking for her. Correct?"

"Yes," Johnathan admitted in defeat.

"Then I just don't get it, man! You two could barely stand to be in the same room together, and when you were you couldn't go five minutes without bickering. Then all of a sudden, she's gone and you're a mad man on a mission to hunt her down! Dude, she wasn't even your type! Bottle blonde Lila aside, you never looked at blondes, let alone go out with them until Airen came along."

"Is that a problem?" Johnathan tried to keep himself from growling.

"No, just…. you've been so different since you took an interest in her and I can't help but think that maybe her disappearance is a good thing. That maybe, just maybe, it means that you can go back to normal."

Johnathan bristled at Tony's implication. Before he could respond the waitress arrived with their food.

"One chicken parmesan with marinara and angel hair pasta and one vegetarian pasada with olive oil and spaghetti." The waitress flashed Johnathan a suggestive smile. "And one phone number for the gentleman in the leather jacket." She slipped a piece of paper over to him. "If you need anything else, just let me know." She brushed her fingers over his shoulder as she left.

When she was gone, Johnathan turned back to Tony. Anger draining out of him at his friend's concerned look, he responded.

"Look, I get why you're worried, but I-"

Johnathan's phone suddenly started to ring. Confused, he pulled it out of his pocket and looked at the caller ID. It read Lab. Still confused he answered it, motioning to Tony that it was important. Tony put his elbows on the table and leaned into his hands, interested.

"Hello?"

"Logan!" Fenton's panicked voice came over the phone.

"Is that Fenton?" Tony asked. Johnathan motioned him to be quiet, annoyed.

"What's up, Fenton?"

"Man, I don't know what kind of a "hunch" you had, but you need to get your ass down here, now."

Johnathan threw Tony a worried glance. "Fenton is everything okay?" he asked as Tony signaled for the waitress.

"Just get down here! You'll see when you get here." With that Fenton hung up.

"I guess I have to go back to the station," Johnathan told Tony.

"You mean we have to go back down to the station."

Johnathan and Tony arrived at the lab of the station less than a half-hour later. Johnathan practically sprinted to where Fenton's desk was.

"Fenton?" He shouted as he entered.

"Over here, Logan." A deep voice that definitely was not Fenton called back.

"Chief?" Johnathan and Tony rounded the corner to where Fenton and the chief were standing looking at a computer screen. Fenton seemed agitated and upset while the chief seemed perfectly calm.

"What's going on? You called the chief?" Johnathan looked accusingly at Fenton.

"I had to!" Fenton protested. "It was too big not to call him!"

"What do you mean?" Johnathan growled.

"Show him." The chief said.

Fenton turned toward the computer and started typing.

"Show me what?!" Johnathan asked tired of being kept in the dark. "And how do you already have results?"

"You'll understand when you see it," Fenton explained.

The screen on the computer changed to show two files.

"you told me to put it under the Noler file which has been officially closed. We can't reopen it without cause or reason behind the break-in and attempted kidnapping." Fenton explained.

"What does that have to do with your results?" Tony asked.

Johnathan wanted to know the same thing, but he was too busy reading the computer screen. One of the two files was locked. All it read was:

Locked By: Justice League

Red Level 5 Required

Classified; Top Secret

Johnathan frowned. 'Interesting.' He thought. But they ran into Justice League blocked files all the time. This certainly was not what had Fenton all in a panic. Which lead him to read the second file, though he made a mental note to look into the League file at the first opportunity. When he read the second file however all other thoughts, including the ones about the first file, left his brain. The second file read:

File Name: S. Howard

File Number: 36495

File Restricted: Yes

Clearance Level: 4

"What the hell is this?" Johnathan asked looking at Fenton.

Fenton gulped. "You wanted me to run a DNA test, right?"

"Right."

"Well, um, this," He motioned to the computer screen. "Was the result. There's a 50% familial match to the locked file from the League, but that's not what I'm worried about. What I'm worried about is that, um, well…."

"Spit it out, Fenton," Johnathan growled.

"There was a 50% familial match to Howard "Howie" Stevens." Fenton finished quietly.

Johnathan's blood ran cold, and his ears rang. He could hear the conversation continuing but he felt as though he were an empty shell, only witnessing it from afar.

"As in, the leader of the S gang Howie Stevens?" Tony asked cautiously looking at Johnathan as though his head was turning purple.

"The one and only," Fenton answered, also eyeing Johnathan.

"Then that means…." Tony began.

"Whoever's blood Fenton here ran is the child of Howard Stevens, the most powerful crime lord, gang leader, and mob boss in Gotham and probably the nation." The chief finished.

"Good god John, who's blood did you have tested?" Tony asked forcing Johnathan to look him in the eye. This question brought Johnathan out of his stupor. Anger fueled him as several dots seemed to connect themselves in his mind.

"I need to see Noler. Now." Without waiting for permission, Johnathan stormed off.

Tony and Fenton looked helplessly for instruction from the chief.

The chief waved in Johnathan's direction. "Go with him, Tony. I'll be there in a minute. In the meantime, try and keep him from killing anyone important will you?" Tony nodded and rushed off to catch up to Johnathan.

"What are we going to do about the case file?" Fenton asked.

"Go ahead and reopen it, Fenton." The chief said pulling out his phone. "We now have a probable cause/reason for the break-in and attempted kidnapping. I have to call the Commissioner." Turning away and dialing the number the chief sighed. "Sorry to bother you, sir, I hope I wasn't interrupting dinner…"

The guard let Johnathan and Tony in when they flashed their badges. They entered the cell and as soon as the door was closed Johnathan rushed Noler.

"Where is she!?" He yelled as he slammed Noler up against the wall.

"John!" Tony protested, but Johnathan didn't care.

"Where's who?" Noler croaked out glaring at Johnathan.

"The girl."

Noler rolled his eyes. "Yes, I know you're looking for a girl genius. I got that from the "she" in your sentence. But I do not, however, know to which girl you're referring." He snarled.

"Let him go, John, he's not going to tell us anything with you ruff housing him." Tony coaxed.

Knowing that Tony was right, Johnathan let go of Noler with a growl.

"First things first Noler, how did you know?" Tony asked.

Noler brushed himself off and rolled his eyes. "You're about as smart as your partner here. Know what? How on earth do you two expect to get any answers out of me if I don't know what answers you want?" he drawled.

"How did you know that Airen Stevens was your boss, Howard Stevens', daughter?" Johnathan snapped.

Noler and Tony both froze and looked at him. Tony with a look of extreme shock, Noler with wide-eyed panic. He was even a few shades paler.

"How-how did you…."

"I have connections. Now, how did you know?"

Noler shook his head. "Nope. Can't tell you. The boss'll kill me."

Johnathan snarled. "So, you would rather Stevens kill you because his daughter is missing and you prevented the investigation into her disappearance and search for her?"

Noler turned a shade or two of green.

"She-she's missing?" He whimpered.

Johnathan glared at him. "And every minute we sit here to convince you to tell us what you know is a minute she gets farther away from us and possibly closer to death."

The statement was meant to scare Noler into cooperating, but Johnathan ended up scaring himself.

"I don't know anything, I swear!" Noler exclaimed.

"Really? Cause last we checked you were trying to kidnap her." Tony said.

"Look, I was only following orders," Noler explained.

"How did he know what orders to give?" Johnathan growled.

"Okay look, here's what I know. Halloween last year, that whole gang war thing, he saw her. Saw her fighting his boys and winning. I don't know the details, I don't even know what tipped him off that she was his, but somehow the boss knew that she was his daughter. After that finding her wasn't hard. She is a model for crying out loud. Her pictures were everywhere. We just tracked down her agency and from there it was a piece of cake. Our orders were to follow her and when the opportunity presented itself, nab her."

"And you thought a crowded Christmas Eve party filled to the brim with people was a good time?" Johnathan asked sarcastically.

"It was our only option. We followed her around for over a month and we could never get her alone. Never catch her off guard. For an 18-year-old girl, she really knows how to take care of herself." Noler said.

'You got that right.' Johnathan thought thinking about her fighting skills at the Christmas Eve party.

"We were running out of time and when we found out that she was going to the Christmas Eve party we came up with a plan. We figured if we could hold up a ballroom of rich people we could be in and out before the cops or the Bat showed, and no one would think twice of us nabbing a hostage. We just didn't count on her being able to fight like that."

"Clearly." Tony snorted.

"And you rushing her outside the interrogation room?" Johnathan asked.

Noler pointed to his face. "I wanted payback for this!"

"And you didn't think your crime lord of a mob boss would take issue with you roughing up his daughter?" Tony asked in disbelief.

"Call it a moment of insanity." Noler shrugged. "I swear, I don't know where she is or how she got there. I do know that the boss was still wanting to keep tabs on her. I also know that whoever kidnapped her will wish they had never been born, let alone laid eyes on her."

'Only if there's something left of them when I'm done.' Johnathan thought.

"Do you know why he wanted to kidnap her?" Tony asked.

Noler shrugged again. "She's, his daughter. He had no idea she existed until last year. He just wants to meet her in person, up close. Other than that, I don't know. If it were me though, I know I would want some kind of relationship with her, even if it would never be normal."

"Thank you, Mr. Noler. You've been…. very helpful." Tony said.

With that, he and Johnathan left the cell. Out in the hall, the chief and the commissioner were waiting for them.

"You called the commissioner?!" Johnathan asked dumbfounded.

"Kid, when the only known child of one of the world's most wanted goes missing its cause to give me a call." Commissioner Gordon said. "In fact, it's also cause to give someone else a call too."

"Aww, man…." Johnathan grumbled to himself.

The signal flashed against the dark clouds rolling in.

"Looks like rain." The Commissioner said.

Johnathan huffed and shuffled his feet. He really didn't want to be the Commissioner's new signal buddy, but Gordon had insisted. It had been Johnathan that brought in the evidence that had made the connection, so it was Johnathan that got to help fill in Batman.

The rustle of capes made Johnathan groan. He turned to find Red Robin and Batgirl standing across the rooftop.

"Where's Batman?" Gordon asked.

"Out of town." Red Robin said curtly, eyeing Johnathan. "Who's the new kid?"

Johnathan rolled his eyes at the question but stayed silent.

"A detective who's been looking for someone. Someone who we just discovered is the only known child of Howard Stevens."

If Johnathan hadn't trained and fought alongside the members of the Bat-family for so long, he would have missed Red Robin and Batgirl's surprised reactions to this news.

"That could be a problem," Batgirl said quietly.

"Yes, it could. A big one." Gordon replied.

"Who is it?" Red Robin asked.

"Her name is Airen Stevens. She's a well-known model and celebrity. She's been missing since early March. I've got my men looking for her, actively searching for her but…."

"At this point, she could be dead in Japan, and we wouldn't know." Red Robin said callously.

Johnathan's trained eye also caught sight of Batgirl elbowing him in the ribs. Tim and Cassandra both knew about Airen's disappearance. They had even helped look for her when they were on patrol. They also both knew that it was a sensitive subject for Johnathan.

"So, is there a reason that you haven't been looking for her until now?" Batgirl asked.

Gordon sighed. "We had reason to believe that she left of her own free will, but no one has heard from her since she left. So, until we can confirm otherwise…."

"You're treating her as a missing person."

"Correct."

"We'll do our best to find her, but with Batman out of town we can't make any promises," Batgirl said, more to Johnathan than to Gordon.

"We also would appreciate it if you wouldn't advertise that Batman's out of town." Red Robin added.

"Good. I'll also be putting the FBI and other law enforcement agencies around the world on high alert. If we can't find her, I don't want to imagine what Howie might do. Oh, and Red Robin? I never do." Gordon said.

The invisible jet had had many versions throughout the years, and all of them were top of the line. This model had two rows of double seats on either side of a single aisle toward the front of the jet. At the front was the cockpit area that had four chairs, two pilot seats, and two navigation seats with control panels at each chair. At the back of the jet were two rooms, each with two sets of bunk beds for long flights such as this one. Each room also had a bathroom and storage compartments for luggage. The rooms were part of the cargo area where the door to the jet was. In the cargo area were more storage compartments along with food and drink storage, parachutes, and other equipment the jet might need in case of an emergency.

The main hanger of the Watchtower where the invisible jet sat was alive and bustling with activity as everyone prepared for the long 16-hour trip to Tameran. Engineers, maintenance crews, techs, and other Watchtower workers hustled around the hanger going through final checks on the jet.

Justice League members stood around talking or running around trying to help with final preparations. Wonder Woman and Shierra Hall were having a discussion with a few of the other women League members about expectations and what needed to be done while Wonder Woman was gone. Flash was speeding around helping the crew with last-minute details under the close direction of Oracle. Batman stood off to the side in an intense discussion with Superman, Martian Manhunter, and Green Lantern. Superman and Martian Manhunter would be accompanying Batman, Wonder Woman, and the rest of the delegation to Tameran.

"I still don't like this. It's not their style, their way. To involve other plants outside of the Vegan system? I smell a trap." Lantern said shaking his head.

"That's why we're taking Superman and Wonder Woman. If things get out of hand their strength can rival that of a Tameranian's." Batman said.

"I still don't like it." Lantern said crossing his arms.

"You don't have to like it, John." Superman tried to reason.

While Superman tried to reason with Lantern, Manhunter turned to Batman.

"Batman, there is something that I must share with you before we leave."

"What is it?"

"I was instructed not to, but I feel as though I cannot in good conscience keep it to myself any longer, especially now that we are going to Tameran. A few months ago, our monthly transmission reached Tameran. And not just Tameran. I actually spoke with Princess Komiand'r herself."

"I know."

"What?"

"You really think I don't check the Watchtower's transmission logs?" Batman asked with a raised brow.

"I suspected as much but I assumed you had simply missed it since you had not approached me about it."

"I figured you had your reasons for keeping from me."

"I did. I was asked by the princess' niece to keep our interaction a secret. I believe they suspected someone on their planet of tampering with their transmissions and did not wish to alert the suspect that they were on to them. Or that we might interfere."

Batman rose an eyebrow at the word "niece" but said nothing about it. Instead, he said, "We'll look into it when we get there."

Meanwhile, the rest of the delegation continued to prepare for their long trip.

Cyborg was obsessively testing all of the onboard computers and making sure that all of the extra parts that they might need were on board. Bumblebee, not one to let her husband run off and have an adventure without her, organized the bags into storage compartments as they got loaded. Changeling was helping carry stuff around according to Bumblebee's orders. Raven stood at the entrance to the jet with a clipboard and list of people going. Nightwing was trying not to bounce off the walls in agitation and anxiousness and instead got into a heated argument with Huntress and Robin on why they had to go too. Beast Boy and Shade had taken it upon themselves to test out the bunks in the two rooms aboard the invisible jet. Shadow and Black Hawke were helping carry the pile of luggage into the jet.

Finally, three hours and who knows how many arguments later the entire delegation from both the Justice League and Azarath were boarded on the invisible jet and ready to depart for Tameran.

In the interest of time:

Shade- Willow Logan

Beast Boy- William Logan

Shadow (In case you missed it earlier)- Violet Logan

Huntress- Helena Wayne

Robin- Damian Wayne

Green Lantern- John Stewart

I know most people these days use Hal Jordan but personally when I read about/envision Green Lantern it's John Stewart from the animated Justice League series.

Hope you like it! Let me know your thoughts: Read and review.
