"Ah, Midoriya! You're awake now!" Kaminari waved at him as we arrived at that hospital room we'd been checking up on again and again, just hoping. "Have you been watching TV? The media's all over UA. It's pretty bad."

"That time in Spring doesn't even compare," said Sato.

"We got you a melon!" piped in Mineta.

Midoriya's arms were in splints. He looked exhausted, and had only just awakened from hours of fever and in/out consciousness turns.

"I've caused you trouble, Midoriya," sighed Tokoyami.

"No, I should be saying that. Is everyone from Class A here?" asked Midoriya.

"No…" Iida said slowly."Jirou and Hagakure still haven't regained consciousness from the villain's gas. And Yaoyorozu suffered a serious head injury so she has also been hospitalized. She supposedly regained consciousness just yesterday, though. Anyway, those three aren't here."

"That still makes just 15 of us," said Uraraka, hesitating. Nobody wanted to tell him.

I spoke up. "Because Bakugou's not here."

"Hey, Todoroki!" cried Ashido.

Midoriya's eyes seemed to come back to life as he heard Bakugou's name.

"All Might was saying," he said, slowly, "You can't save people where your hands can't reach. So that's why you have to save anyone within your reach. But…I could reach him. I had to save him…that's why I have this quirk. But it turned out exactly like Mr. Aizawa said it would. My body couldn't move." And he started crying.

"Then this time around, let's save him."

Kirishima set his jaw. I nodded to him.

"Todoroki and I were here yesterday….And we happened to overhear Yaoyorozu talking to the police."

And we told them our plan.

"In other words," Iida said, attempting not to scream. "This tracking device - you mean, Yaoyorozu could make us one?" Then he exploded. "It's exactly as All Might said! This is a matter that should be left to the professionals! This is not a situation for students like us to be meddling in!"

"Damn it, man! I know that already!" cried Kirishima, and he clasped his hand to his chest. "But still! I couldn't do anything! I heard my friend was targeted. And I just stood by! I didn't do anything about it! If I don't do something about it here, then I won't be able to call myself a hero or a man!"

"Please calm down Kirishima!" cried Kaminari. "Your determination is good and all, but this time…"

"Iida's right," said Tsu.

"Iida's right, I know!" cried Kirishima. But still!" And he turned to Midoriya, throwing out a hand as if inviting Midoriya to take it. "Listen, Midoriya! Your hands can still reach him!"

WE can still reach him. With her help, we can still save him, Midoriya.

"So, you're going to get Yaomomo to make a tracker, and then follow it to go save Bakugou yourselves?" Ashido asked us.

I nodded.

"Even though the villains called us 'kill targets', they snatched Bakugou away without killing him. They may let him live, but I honestly can't be sure they won't kill him. Kirishima and I will go -"

Then, Iida interrupted me, almost screaming. "Stop messing around! You all are getting carried away!"

"Hold on. Calm down," said Shoji, holding his bandaged arm up to stop him. "Kirishima's frustration of not being able to do anything. Todoroki's frustration of BAkugou getting snatched before his eyes. I know how it feels. But this is not a decision one should make based on how they feel," he finished, the last words coming from the mouth on his tentacle.

"Let's leave it to All Might," said a shaking Aoyama. "They rescinded our combat authorization too."

"I agree with Aoyama," said Tokoyami. "I know I'm not in a position to say anything, since I'm part of the reason we failed."

"I know we're all still in shock from Bakugou's kidnapping," said TSu. "However, let's be level-headed about this. No matter how just your feelings may be, if you engage in battle…if you break the rules like that, then your actions are no different than those of the villains."

Wow, none of you get it at all. We all stood there in silence for quite a long time.

It was the doctor who broke it.

"I'm sorry to interrupt your conversation, but it's time for MIdoriya's check-up."

"L-Let's go," said Sero. "I want to see Jirou and Hagakure too."

Behind me, Kirishima whispered to Midoriya as the others left,

"I talked to Yaoyorozu yesterday. IF we're going, it's gotta be fast. Tonight. With your injuries, I don't know if you're gonna be able to move. But I'm inviting you because…I think you're probably the most frustrated of all."

Out in the hall, Iida gestured us into a private room. The group surrounded us, like they were going to physically stop our actions.

"Todoroki, Kirishima,"he told us. "I will not allow this to happen."

"You gonna stop us?" I snapped back at him.

"Guys, this - this isn't about fighting!" said Uraraka. "But think about it. I really think - Bakugou would probably feel disgraced to get rescued that way."

Asui nodded. "Ochako's right too."

"You've said all this already," I replied, and turned away. None of you are seeing the real problem here.

"Todoroki, listen- " Sero began.

We all started arguing and nobody seemed to be listening anymore. Eventually everyone just went their separate ways, annoyed, frustrated.

I waited outside, deep in the night, with Kirishima. Yaoyorozu…what are you planning? Are you going to help us?

'Yaoyorozu said she'd think about it. Think she's coming?' asked Kirishima.

'Well, no matter how impatient we get, in the end it's all up to her.'

But then the doors opened - and there she was, changed into civvies, and looking serious. I had a feeling, from that expression, that she'd made up her mind as we wanted her to.

Behind her-

"Midoriya?" I was actually surprised. I hadn't honestly expected him to come. But then again, it is Bakugou…

'Yaoyorozu?' Kirishima asked her. 'What's your answer?'

She started to say 'I think - ' But then an interruption.

'Wait!'

It was Iida. You think you're going to stop us?

'Why…' he asked, glaring at me and Midoriya. 'Why of all people…why you guys? The two of you who scolded me for my own reckless actions. Who received a special pardon. Why are you guys trying to make the same mistake I did? This is too much!'

'What're you talking about, man?' Kirishima asked; i put a hand on his shoulder to stop him.

'We're under the protection of the school. And things are bad enough for UA as it is. Who do you think will have to take responsibility for your actions?'

'Iida, you've got it wrong!' said Midoriya. 'It's not like it's ok for us to break the rules -'

And Iida punched him in the face.

What the hell? I was absolutely stunned. I hadn't, honestly, expected it to come to that.

'I'm frustrated too! I'm worried! Who wouldn't be? I'm the class president! I worry about my classmates! Seeing your injuries, lying on the bed, just like my brother…if you guys go through with this rashness - if something happens to you that can't be recovered from - are you saying my concerns don't mean anything? Do my feelings not mean anything?' He held Midoriya's arms.

'Iida…' said Midoriya.

'Iida!' I said, sick of this. "We're not trying to confront and attack them head on. Not at all. We're going to rescue him without combat.'

'This is a covert operation! A way for us to fight without breaking the rules!'

'I trust in Todoroki's judgement,' said Yaoyorozu. I looked at her, a little started and embarrassed. Trusting me, huh? 'But I came with the attention of accompanying you all. As a failure, should the unthinkable happen, I will prevent combat.'

'Yaoyorozu!' Iida cried out.

'I don't really understand it myself,' said Midoriya. 'After being told that my hands can still reach him, I can't just sit around. I can't help but think I want to save him!'

Iida didn't look like he was gonna give in. 'A parallel, huh? In that case, take me with you!'

"We all headed out from the hospital together, and the silence was pretty awkward. Iida was the one who broke it.

He said "I apologize for getting violent with you. I'm sorry."

"Really, Iida," said Yaoyorozu. "Your argument for coming along isn't really all that persuasive."

"It's OK! I've forgotten about it already!" cried Midoriya.

"It's precisely because I can't accept your behavior that I'm coming along. If I get so much as a whiff of the possibility of combat, I will bring you back immediately." He pushed his glasses up on his nose. "I'll be your guardian, so to speak. That's right, like Watchman!"

"Watchman Iida," I muttered. We'll see what happens.

"Me too," said Yaoyorozu. "This is a job for the pros. From the outset, there has been absolutely no need for you all to get involved. Call me watchmen Yaoyorozu. However, because I understand how you guys feel. You can call this a compromise plan. Don't you forget it." She held up the new receiver and gave us all a nod.

"Right," I said. Iida I could've fought off but…I'm not sure if I can argue with her.

With that, we were headed to the train station.

Yaoyorozu told us on the way, "All right, the coordinates of the tracking device point to the Kamino ward of Yokohama city in the Kanazawa Prefecture. We'll be departing from Nagano, so it will take us about two hours. Which should get us there at around 10."

"Hey, um…did you tell the others about the specifics around our plan?" asked Midoriya.

"Yeah, after we did they just tried to stop us from going," I sighed, finishing our quickly cobbled together dinner.

"Uraraka had some pretty harsh words for us," said Kirishima.

"Uraraka did?" said Midoriya, surprised.

We told him what Uraraka said, what'd gone down that afternoon. Judging by his face, her words about Bakugou had really shaken him. "Bakugou would probably see being rescued as disgraceful"…

I took a deep breath. "In any case, listen. No matter how you look at it, what we're trying to do is driven by our own egos. If you want to turn back, it's not too late,"

Kirishima said back, "If I wasn't sure about this I wouldn't have suggested it in the first place! He's not the kind of guy who will want to just let the villains have their own way."

"I…there's no way I can turn back now," said Midoriya.

It was right in Camino ward, the city was filled with people.

"We're here! Camino Ward! They villains are hiding around here somewhere in this city."

"Lots of people here, huh?"

"All right, tell me where to go Yaoyorozu!" said Kirishima.

"Please hold on a second!" said Yaoyorozu. "If we don't proceed with every precaution from here on out! Don't forget that the villains know our faces now!"

"That's right! It's a covert mission!" said Midoriya.

"But in that case, we can't even go on and scout!" said Iida.

"And on that note," said Yaoyorozu. I have a proposition for you all!"

She pointed us to the local Donki Ote store, where we could buy costume props on the cheap.

We were all disguised like grown ups in the shopping district. I'd selected a black, spiky wig that stuck up rather like Yaoyorozu's own hair; a dark vest, suit shirt and pants. The wig covered the burn on my left side.

"Aww right!" cried Midoriya. "Let's go!"

"I see. Disguises, huh?" I sighed out.

"No, no, you gotta push your jaw out a little more!" I told Midoriya, correcting his cosplay.

"Aw right!" said Midoriya again, getting it right this time.

"We're in the night shopping district! A bunch of kids wandering around will attract too much attention!" said Yaoyorozu.

"We've got women with large breasts !" Cried Iida, completing the disguise.

"Yaoyorozu," I asked her, a little perplex, "Wouldn't these have been free if you just made them with your quirk?"

"Th-th-that's a violation of the rules! If I just went on and used my quirk to make whatever I wanted, the circulation of currency in the that's right - as a citizen of the country, I have to contribute - to the economy!"

Right…I guess that makes sense…

"Oh? Isn't that UA?"

"Aw - aw rihgt?" cried Midoriya.

We turned - but we hadn't been spotted. Instead, the crowds were looking up at the TV broadcast. "And now, a scene from the events that have just transpired. Here's a clip of the public apology issued by the official at UA academy."

Sensei, Vlad King, and Principal Nezu, in their best suits, were speaking at a Press Conference.

"On this occasion, our incompetence resulted in the injuries of 27 of our first year student heroes. Despite being an institution for the development of heroes, we were negligent in our defense against evil interests and have caused great anxiety within society. With the utmost sincerity, we respectfully and humbly apologize for our shortcomings."

"Even Aizawa, who hates the media…" said Kirishima.

"Reporting with NHA. This is the fourth time this ear your academy where students have come into contact with villains. This time, students were injured. How exactly did you explain this to their families? Please tell us specifically what measures have been taken to address this matter."

"They're being treated like criminals…" said Midoriya.

Nezu said, "We have strengthened the security around the school, and we have re-examined the campus' crime prevention system. We are taking strong measures to guarantee the safety of our students. That was the explanation we gave."

We heard the crowd muttering. "EH? They're not protecting them at all! What are these guys saying?"

The mood was changing.

People were turning against heroes
