Chapter 152: Maki and R**
This was a very strange place. There was no sun or anything that produced sunlight, yet there was light. The issue was that the source of the light could not be found.
There were brightly colored plants, but none of the plants that Shido could name.
There were buildings here, but the style of the buildings was something thatShido had never seen before. It was a bit like the white and holy environment where the angels in the movie lived, and it was a bit like the imposing castle where the vampires lived. It was very weird.
In such a garden, there were two little girls who seemed to be only five or six years old. The little girls were smiling and did not seem to notice the arrival of Shido.
The one on the left, with short light green hair and lovely cheeks, was wearing a dark green one-piece dress, and her bare feet kept rocking back and forth, very cheerful.
The one on the right, with plum double ponytails and delicate facial features, wearing a slightly ill-fitting white T-shirt and short shorts, looking a little childish.
Although Shido didn't want to admit it, the cuteness of these two girls was no less than Yoshino's, to the extent of surpassing human standards.
It was this plum-haired little girl that Shido felt a little familiar with, but he couldn't recall anything. He looked around and saw no other figures. It seemed that there were only these two little girls in this place.
Shido walked over cautiously, and was about to open his mouth, but was preempted by the green-haired one.
"R**, is this your guest?"
The green-haired girl asked her friend curiously.
For some reason, Shido couldn't hear her name clearly.
The plum-haired girl glanced at Shido, shook her head, and said:
"Although I know him personally, he seems to be your guest."
"My guest?"
The green-haired girl murmured, could it be that the shrine maiden brought him here?
Shido looked at the plum-haired girl named R** a little strangely, and asked with concern:
"You know me?"
"Yes, I do!"
R** nodded affirmatively, and then said a little hesitantly:
"You...what should I call you? It should be called Shido now!"
"'Should'? 'Now'? What do you mean?"
Shido stared at her closely, this girl named R** obviously knew a lot of things.
"Don't worry about these details~"
R** smiled a little embarrassedly, and realized that she had spoiled something.
"How could I not worry..."
Shido shouted, but halfway through, he suddenly had a headache.
He shook his head blankly, then looked at the two little girls in front of him. What did he just say?
"Shido? Did the shrine maiden bring you here?"
The green-haired girl tilted her head and asked.
"That's right..."
Shido nodded truthfully. Although he didn't know what was going on, he was sure that these two were not ordinary little girls.
"But to be able to come here, you can't be an ordinary mortal! You must know that only archangels and qualified shrine maidens can come to this kind of place. Can you tell me, what is your purpose?"
The green-haired girl asked softly, her voice had a unique charm that made it impossible to refuse her request.
Shido nodded, and then said:
"I came to investigate the Tree of Life. It is said that the Tree of Life suddenly lost its power last week, so I came to find out why."
Of course, he also had the idea of taking some of its spiritual power as his own, but he didn't say it.
But what he didn't know was that there was no way to hide what he was thinking from the two in front of him. However, they didn't care much about Shido's thoughts on the power of the Tree of Life.
"Power? I gave it away..."
The green-haired girl responded casually, not planning to hide anything.
"You gave it away?"
Shido looked at her suspiciously.
"As you imagined, I am the incarnation of the Tree of Life, you can call me Maki. Also, my nickname is 'Kami Tree'."
Maki smiled and told Shido the unimaginable fact.
"In other words, you are a God?"
Shido was startled. Although he guessed a little, when the other party said it herself, he was still a little flabbergasted.
"For humans, maybe I can be considered a puny God. But, compared to the God Almighty himself, my existence is probably similar to an ant!"
Maki responded with her head sideways, and then inadvertently glanced at R** next to her.
"Maki is so cute, how could you be an ant! If I said it, it would be a little fox!"
R** hugged Maki and said softly.
Looking at the intimate behavior of the two, Shido couldn't help but think they were lesbians.
It seemed that Shido hadn't realized that he had been badly influenced by Miku. Now, whenever he saw two girls a little closer to each other, he would guess the relationship between the two.
Seemingly feeling what Shido was thinking, R** gently pushed Maki away, then said with a smile:
"Looks like last week or so? Maki felt the malice from other worlds, and because she couldn't get out of here, she secretly gave her power out. That's probably how it happened."
"To whom?"
Shido asked solemnly.
"I didn't give it to a specific person, just put it in a different place, wait for someone to take it away, and then help protect the world!"
Maki explained softly.
"Where is that place?"
Shido asked again.
"Of course I can't tell you that."
Maki shook her head. Those powers had not been discovered yet. If Shido could find them, he could easily utilize them.
And this was not what she wanted to see. Although Shido had passed the test of the shrine maiden, he had not passed her test.
If Rio knew this person, it meant that this young man was a little strange, and the feeling of spiritual power in him also made her feel a little familiar.
She even wondered if Shido was the incarnation of the Tree of Life in another world!
In this case, it would be difficult to say whether he was an enemy or a friend.
"Can't you tell me anything, not even a hint?"
Shido frowned.
"Sorry, but no."
Maki nodded firmly.
Shido gritted his teeth. Then what should I do?
After thinking about it, he decided to let it go. Although the other party had lost most of her power, she was still the incarnation of the Tree of Life after all, and the girl named R** beside her even seemed even more mysterious.
Of course, what was more important was that Shido was not such a person in the first place. He couldn't bring himself to coerce a little girl anyway.
"Well...how about you answer me a question. If I am satisfied, I will give you the remaining spiritual power, how about it?"
Maki suddenly gave a proposal, and Shido naturally had no objection to it.
"Okay! What is your question?"
Shido asked softly.
