'I hate myself.' Granger unhappily said to himself as he slumped down on the couch.
During an undercover op to bust an international drug ring, he had been forced to punch Callen a few times to prove he was 'loyal'. Callen wasn't hurt badly from that, but then he had been forced to 'shoot' him. Thankfully, it hit the body armor, but Granger still felt terrible.
Then Hetty approached with a bottle of Pappy.
'You've had a rough day. Care to discuss over Pappy?' She asked.
'Want to hand over the whole bottle?'
'Nah. You're not that depressed.'
Hetty poured them both a cup.
'So, you had to do some tough things today. Feeling okay?' Hetty kindly asked.
'You're not mad? I had to hurt the man you consider to be your own son! I feel awful.' Granger unhappily replied.
'You did what you had to do to keep your cover going, Mr. Callen understood. And I understand too. You're not the only one whose had to hurt someone just to keep a cover going.'
'What if it was you I had to hurt?! I'd never forgive myself for that.'
'But it wasn't! Also, do you remember that one time that we had to pretend to fight so we could bust those art thieves and I had to slap you 2 times? I, actually felt really bad about having to do it.' Hetty admitted.
'Barely. And, I guess I felt weird about that as well.' Granger replied, confused.
'Look, these types of missions are difficult. But, it's important that we don't let it get to us too much. Cheers?'
'Cheers.'
Then they toasted.
