Morgan was laying out in the gardens of the castle completely and utterly bored. Ever since her father had come back, things had settled down substantially. She was happy that there was peace certainly, but as she was catching up in her studies, she could not help but feel a bit bored. Father had said she could be his assistant soon, but even that felt like an eternity away for the hyperactive girl.

"Morgan, there you are," The young bluenette sat up after hearing her mother speak, "I've been looking for you."

"Mother!" Morgan promptly picked herself up and ran toward Lucina. She also noticed the bag under her arms, "Are you headed to the stables?"

"Yes, would you like to accompany me?"

"Yeah!" Morgan loved going down there with her mother. She loved the chance to bond and make memories and she had become fond of the animals as well. Even if they were not always as fond of the loud girl, she had a weak spot for cute things. Plus, loving pegasi was practically in her blood given her grandmother could seemingly almost talk to them.

"Good," Lucina smiled enjoying how her daughter liked to accompany her. While she was not known for it, Sumia made sure her daughter could ride so Lucina was at least proficient. Well, she may have undersold herself a bit when it came to that area. She was an above average flier. Though, she was not particularly comfortable with aerial combat, and the lance, as much as she tried, remained somewhat awkward to her in the air.

Regardless, she was not on the same level as her mother or sister. While she had long recovered from her clumsiness with newfound confidence, none of the now queen's clumsiness seemed to transfer to her riding even before she had overcome said clumsiness. In fact, she may have even been a superior flier in some ways to even lady Cordelia though her lance work had been less than exemplary until she integrated it into her flying in a more unorthodox way. Something Cynthia had adopted as well.

Regardless, Lucina had been no stranger to riding, though in her world she lacked a mount of her own. She would generally ride whatever was available if she rode whether it be a pegaus or horse. She never flew a wyvern herself though as, well, Minerva was the only one they had, and no matter how much the wyvern may have liked her, she was not her master.

That had changed after Grima's defeat when her mother had gifted her a personally selected pegasus complete with riding attire to match her and her sister – a slightly darker blue than Cynthia's. While Lucina's duties training new recruits and castle guards had her busy, she did occasionally go for a ride, and tending to her mount had become a relaxing activity as well as a bonding opportunity with her daughter.

When they arrived at the stables, Lucina got to work grooming her pegasus while brushing her carefully. Morgan meanwhile fed her plenty of apples before deciding to go admire the other mounts; Lucina struggling not to appear suspicious as her daughter did so.

Morgan happily greeting her grandmother and aunt's mounts though Sumia's was still a bit ornery around anyone but the queen. While Cynthia's was her mother's, she had mellowed significantly by the time Cynthia inherited the mount. Then Morgan went down and saw lady Cordelia's pegaus. The Wing Commander having a special spot for her mount along with the queen and other royalty.

However, as she went, Morgan noticed a new addition in the far corner of the stables. A young, dark pegasus that looked barely old enough for the job. It was the type used by dark fliers that were even more resistant to magic than their already magically sturdy cousins. They were also fairly rare and while her mother and lady Cordelia had both used some at a point, they had never been their personal mounts. The ones they used could definitely not be this young.

"What do you think of her?" Morgan jumped a bit having not noticed her mother approaching.

"She's adorable!" Morgan practically cooed, but her curiosity remained, "Whose is she though?"

"Yours," Lucina smiled at her daughter, and the reaction was priceless.

"Mine? Really?" Lucina nodded and perhaps faster than she had ever seen the younger girl move, Morgan pounced in a hug, "Ah! This is amazing! Best mother ever!"

"Well, I didn't do all the work," Lucina admitted as she pried Morgan's vice grip loose, "Mother helped. Perhaps you should thank her as well."

"Huh?" Morgan turned around to see her grandmother coming out of hiding looking about ready to burst. Morgan was liberal with her thanks once again, and Sumia ate it all up.

"I thought you might like it," Sumia grinned widely, "I even got you this!" The queen held up a custom dark flier dress tailored after Morgan's typical tactician look. Judging from the way she snatched it from her grandmother, she was a fan.

"Given how little time you've spent with a lance and you're already excellent magic, I thought that dark flier might suit you better."

"I'll go try it on right now!" Morgan dashed off and Lucina and Sumia watched with smiles on their faces. However, as soon as she was gone, Lucina frowned.

"Are you sure that this is a good idea, Mother? Some of the other pegasi aren't exactly…fond of her."

"Oh, you're worrying too much. I picked her pegasus myself. I found one especially gentle. She's well trained. Even Morgan shouldn't agitate her. Too much at least."

"I don't know."

"Oh, relax. You've given her lessons, I've given her lessons, Cynthia gave her some pointers, and I think she's even talked to Cordelia and Cherche about flying. She'll be fine."

Lucina did not look particularly confident but made sure to disguise her concern as her daughter returned in her new outfit.

"How do I look?" Morgan twirled about. It was a bit short for Lucina's liking, but that was how those types of uniforms went. Did not mean she had to like it. Still, she wore it well, but she was super biased as a mother.

"You wear it well."

"You look lovely," Sumia replied, "Do you wanna go for a ride?"

"Can I?" Morgan looked expectantly up at her mother who put up a valiant resistance, but in the end she caved to the wide, expectant eyes of her daughter.

"Very well."

"Thank you!" Morgan in an instant was leading her new mount out of the stall.

"But be sure to fly low!" Lucina called out as Morgan prepared to take off, "And take a wind tome to break your fall just in case."

"Got it right here!" Morgan waved the verdant tome before setting out with her new mount.

To Lucina's credit, she was able to wait until Morgan out of sight before dropping her façade, "Where is my riding attire? I'm following her."

Sumia giggled before producing the very attire. She suspected this might happen. She had come prepared herself. She thought this might be a fun bonding experience. So, after Lucina changed in perhaps record time, the mother and daughter set out with Sumia grinning wide the whole time.

A/N: Even if it means referencing how she was done in Heroes, if Morgan wasn't too well versed in lances, at least dark flier would let her use her magic. Also, for this I'm going off that falcon knights use the same mounts and the horns are decorative.
