Chapter Two

Kurenai is appalled at the findings of her investigations. From what she can tell, the instructors have been sabotaging Naruto's lessons and Anakin's as well, making them unfit to graduate. The reason being that they hate the demon in Naruto and anyone who associates with him, with the exception being Hinata since they fear the Hyuga clan. Sadly Anakin is not in any clan, so they get free rein on him without having to worry about any sort of backlash. She's sure that they'd most likely be able to pass if they were being properly taught and treated fairly. The fact that both seem to struggle with the ninjutsu test could easily be overlooked; especially since the previous year a student named Rock Lee couldn't mold chakra to even do ninjutsu or genjutsu, but was allowed to graduate. It'd be bad if they keep holding these two back and force them to move to another village who will greatly accept them into their ranks after seeing their talent. She can't help but chuckle at the fact that they treat Naruto like a demon, only for them to act like monsters themselves. She'll have to take the proof she finally found to the Hokage. With the graduation test already in progress, she just hopes that she's able to give this information to him before the kids get held back again.

Once at his office, she gets let in and sees that the other jounin instructors for this year's genin are there with the Third Hokage already.

The Third looks up at her, "Ah Kurenai, good of you to come. We were just discussing the teams for you all."

"Hokage-sama," she started, "I've come with news that students are being held back on purpose and I have the proof to confirm my claims." She hands the documents to him.

"And which students are those?" Asuma Sarutobi, one of the jounin asked.

"Naruto Uzumaki and Anakin Solo," she answers back.

The masked jounin, Kakashi Hatake narrows his one uncovered eye. "Does it have to do with-"

The Third coughs interrupting Kakashi's sentence, "This is very upsetting news to receive. I knew people didn't like Naruto, but to do this is wrong. It seems like even though I reside over everyone in the village, I am still fairly blind as to what is happening in it. See if you can bring the boys to me and I will judge them for myself if they are ready to take the next step to become ninja or not."

After the jounin leaves, Hiruzen is left with nothing but his thoughts as he looks at the picture of the Fourth Hokage. It seems that I haven't been doing a good enough job of looking after your son. For that, I do apologize. I just wished I hadn't been so blind trying to carry out your and Kushina's dying wish.

Anakin sighs heavily thinking back at the day. Once again he has no luck trying to mold his own chakra to do anything for the ninjutsu test. Even with all the help Ko tried to provide, he still can't seem to do much with it. Naruto has had better luck during their training sessions but with his huge chakra pool, simple ninjutsu seems to be a struggle for him. While they both appreciate Ko's willingness to help, the Hyuga clan only allow their members to learn Hyuga techniques and that doesn't help the boy's much with their problems. Though the boys were genuinely happy for Hinata when she came to them with a leaf headband. In fact, they both would prefer if she got to graduate if they had to pick which one of the three did. Anakin just lazily walked the streets of the village with his thoughts until he felt a presence of someone near him. He quickly turned around to find a pair of red eyes looking at him.

"You're not easy to find Anakin," the female jounin said.

"Well I'm not really hiding but may I ask why it is that you were looking for me and who you are?" Anakin asked.

"My name is Kurenai Yuhi," she begins answering, "and I came to bring you and Naruto to the Hokage."

He arches his eyebrow, "Are we in trouble or something?"

"No you are not. We've done some digging and found that you both were being held back by the instructors there. The Hokage wishes to see you both to judge for himself whether you both are ready to become genin."

"We are being held back? May I ask for the details as to why?"

"Well…" she tries to begin, but can't seem to find a reason to tell him that doesn't involve breaking the law about talking about the Nine Tails sealed in the blond. As Anakin waits for an answer, he holds his head. He sees quick images of Iruka wounded and Naruto being flung away. The vision was short, but it gave Anakin a reason to be worried for his friend and their teacher. Kurenai catches the look of worry on the boy. "What is it, Anakin?"

"Naruto and Master Iruka are in trouble. We have to go help." Anakin replies back.

"How do you know this?"

"It'd take too long to give a detailed explanation, but the short version is that I saw a vision of them both being attacked." He explained before rushing off into the woods.

The woman is shocked to say the least. She knew he has a power that sees never seen nor heard, but this was not what she was expecting. There appeared to be more to his power than she first thought, but now was not the time for that. Her fellow leaf ninja was being attacked and she had to go help. She quickly started to chase after the boy seeing how she didn't know where the two in question were but Anakin does.

Anakin didn't wait for Kurenai to catch up nor stayed to explain any more. He just kept rushing to the sight of where he saw the vision taking place. He wished he had his sword he managed to eventually save up the money for, but he had no time to turn around to his apartment for it. He'd have to rely on the Force for this. Sure he'd have spars with Ko and the other two during their private training session, but he hadn't fully used the Force in those other than enhancing himself. Plus Ko didn't utilize ninjutsu in any of those so Anakin is unfamiliar with how to fight against it. He finally manages to reach the spot only to see a battle is taking place. Iruka is holding his wound, Naruto has a scroll in his arms, and Mizuki, another instructor at the academy, with a grin on his face.

"What is the meaning of this?!" Anakin demanded.

Mizuki turns to the comer, "Well well well, if it isn't the friend of the demon."

"Demon? What are you talking about?"

"Oh you don't know? I guess that's not too surprising seeing as the demon seems to not know himself. You see, Naruto has the Nine Tailed Fox sealed inside him." He sees the look of surprise in the boy's face, "Yes that's right. The same one that attacked the village years ago!"

All of a sudden, everything started to make sense to Anakin. The way the villagers looked at his friend and how the instructor treated him now became clear. They all blame Naruto for what has happened that was out of control. This wasn't sitting well with him, but he has bigger problems at the moment. Mizuki took advantage of Anakin's momentary shock and charged at him. The former Jedi snapped out of it and sent a wave of energy to force the attacker back into the side of the tree.

"Tsk," Mizuki clicked his tongue, "Your strange power is annoying, but let's see how long you can keep it up." He quickly throws some shuriken at the boy.

Anakin quickly pulls a kunai from the ground and tries to block the attack. He manages to block the ones being aimed at vital points of his body, but is unable to deflect the rest leaving him with cuts. He's a bit frustrated that he has to use something this small to defend himself. His fighting style is suited for something longer, so using a kunai isn't ideal. But luckily for him, his foe just threw a bunch of weapons at him for him to use. Using the Force, he lifts all the shuriken around him and hurls them at Mizuki. They all struck, but a cloud of smoke appeared and a log was in place of the target. He then turns and blocks an attack from his side after sensing the danger with the Force. The two clash their kunai and block each other's hits. While in his former body Anakin could have ended this fight faster, he slowly finds himself being overpowered by the much older and more physically stronger ninja. He curses again on not having his sword on him, but seems to be saved by a third person or more specifically dozens of the same third person.

Unknown to the two fighting, Iruka's speech to Naruto about not being the Nine Tails and accepting the boy seemed to give the blond the fire he needed. Using the knowledge he learned from the scroll, Naruto created well over a few dozen shadow clones and charged them all at Mizuki in an attempt to save his friend. Mizuki was too distracted to react in time and was being piled on by the clones. The clones began kicking and punching the ninja repeatedly as some others held him down. Anakin took this moment to catch his breath. He watched the clones do their job as he was being approached by the actual Naruto.

Seeing how Mizuki could do nothing in the state he was in, Anakin turned to his friend. "Naruto I think he has had enough. Killing him in anger would only make you no better than he is."

Naruto complied with Anakin's request and ordered his clones to stop beating on the poor bastard. What was left was nothing more than a black and blue man with blood covered all over him.

Hiruzen is in his office the next morning doing over the details of what happened the night before. It seemed Mizuki tricked Naruto into stealing a scroll by telling him of a "secret test" for students to become ninja. His plan was to bring the scroll to Orochimaru, an enemy of the Leaf Village and Hiruzen's former student, in an attempt to join him. Iruka caught up to Naruto and they had a fight against the traitor. Iruka was injured protecting the boy. Apparently Anakin had a vision of what happened and rushed to the scene where he and Naruto took down the traitor. When Kurenai arrived, she went to tend Iruka since Naruto's clones were already subduing the attacker. Iruka could do nothing but be proud of his two students and couldn't help but be very hopeful of their future as ninjas as he deemed them fit to graduate. The whole matter is chaotic, but he was glad that it ended before something terrible could have happened. Mizuki breaking the law seemed to not to much to the boys but strengthened their friendship. Anakin has known Naruto long enough to easily conclude that the Nine Tails has no control over the boy. The old man couldn't help but smile about the fact that Naruto has found a friend willing to accept him even after learning the truth. His thoughts are quickly cut off by a knock at the door.

He straightens himself up before speaking, "Come in."

Kurenai and Kakashi entered the room. They never got their team finalized before the mess that was yesterday happened.

"Hokage-sama," both said.

"Good you're here. After what happened last night, it seems like the original team layout isn't going to be the same for you both now that there are a couple new graduates in need of a team. I'm sure you already know who they are, so I'm curious as to who you would like to be placed on your teams."

Kurenai speaks first, "I would like to have Naruto, Hinata, and Anakin."

The Third wonders, "And why would that be?"

"They've already formed a bond with each other and to split them apart wouldn't be right. They already know of their strengths and weaknesses so they could easily get into gear on missions about how to protect each other and cover each other."

The Hokage nods, "A fair point to make, but if I'm remembering correctly the Kakashi already has plans for both Naruto and Sasuke to be on the team together."

"That is correct Hokage-sama," The masked ninja answered. "I see great potential for the two boys to easily form a strong rivalry with each other and perhaps form a brotherly bond."

Kurenai glares at him, "You can't be serious about splitting them up for something like that. Naruto and Hinata specifically counterbalance each other perfectly. Hinata being with him is gradually getting over her shyness and Naruto being with her is becoming more level headed."

Kakashi turns to her, "If that's the case, then I'll take Hinata as my final member of my team. Sasuke needs someone to compete with and from what I can see, Naruto is the only one to fit that bill. Sakura is too much of a fan girl. Shino doesn't have the attitude for it. Kiba might have fit the bill, but he's already taken. Lastly, there's not much I can do for Anakin until he learns to use his chakra."

"From the sounds of it, you just seem to be wanting to dump those you don't deem necessary for this plan onto me."

"That sounds harsher than I intended it to be if you put it like that. Look at this from another angle. Your original team was to be a sensor team, but with the members you are left with then it turns into a really well balanced team. Shino can still be the sensor of the group, Sakura seems to have an aptitude for genjutsu which would be better off being taught by you, and Anakin is the heavy hitter in case you are in a situation where you need to fight your way out." Kakashi explained.

The Hokage nods, "You make a very good case."

Kurenai turns to the old man, "You can't be serious?"

"I'm sorry, but I can't overlook the greatest potential he has proposed. Team Seven will be Kakashi, Naruto, Hinata, and Sasuke. Team Eight will be Kurenai, Shino, Sakura, and Anakin. I will hear no complaints about it, so go prepare to greet your genin."

All the passing students are sitting in the classroom very excited to see what teams they all will be on.

"Team Seven will be: Naruto Uzumaki, Hinata Hyuga, and Sasuke Uhicha with your jounin being Kakashi Hatake." Iruka states.

This team announcement has gotten varied reactions. Everyone in the Sasuke fan club are all disappointed about not being on his team with Sakura and Ino being chief among them. Sasuke is fairly happy with this development. He has noticed how much Naruto has caught up in the past year and the mysterious power of Anakin, thus he determined that having one of them on his team will at least give him some sort of challenge. Also he has noticed that Hinata seemed to have a crush on Naruto that's obvious to everyone but the blond, so he is also happy to not have to worry about being pestered constantly about someone wanting to go on a date with him. Hinata is so absolutely ecstatic about being on a team with Naruto that she's about to faint. Naruto is happy to be put on a team with one of his friends, but both him and Hinata are disappointed that they couldn't have their third friend with them. Lastly Anakin is really bummed out that he didn't get to be put on a team with either of his friends, but he is secretly hoping that the other two being on a team together will give them a boost they need to finally become an item.

Iruka sighs at the disappointment fangirl boos at Team Seven placement, "Alright settle down everyone or else we'll be here all say. Good. Now Team Eight will be Shino Aburame, Sakura Haruno, and Anakin Solo with your jounin being Kurenai Yuhi."

The reactions of this team wasn't given much attention as the previous. Shino is rather indifferent. His view on Anakin is that he definitely has skill in fighting but his near nonexistence use of chakra might be a problem in the future, while his view on Sakura is that she's rather book smart but a fangirl so he's not sure how that will play out on her being a ninja. Sakura is actually rather creeped out that she is on a team with someone who uses bugs instead of being on a team with Sasuke and feels like some higher power might be at play with this. Although she does get along rather well with Anakin ever since he managed to shift Naruto's focus from her to Hinata. Seeing a boy playing matchmaker with people got her attention, so they've been chatting often in class while she sometimes gives him some ideas of how to help Naruto and Hinata along. Anakin thinks that his team could be worse so he's contempt with it. He has already met Kurenai last night and is glad he is being put with someone he already knows. He's talked to Shino a few times and he seems to be alright. With Sakura he seems to get along great when they talk, but he recently found that there's something else about her that he can't figure out just yet. He just shrugs his shoulders at this thought figuring that he'll just wait until there's a clear answer. Hinata on the other hand has found the answer of what it is that Anakin has a hard time figuring out. She may be shy, but she is anything but blind (figuratively speaking). Having a crush on Naruto for years now has made it where she can see one forming on someone else. She appreciates Anakin for rooting for her and Naruto so she will secretly do the same for him, that is whenever he has finally been able to figure out his own feelings.

Iruka finishes off naming off the rest of the teams and now the genin are each waiting for their jounin instructor to come pick them up. One by one they each are being taken away and Kurenai appears to tell her team to meet her at the training grounds. Anakin takes one last hug with his two friends before heading off to join his new team.

Once the genin are at their training grounds, Kurenai speaks. "Pleased to see you all made it."

Anakin bows, "Master Kurenai, it's good to see you again."

She chuckles, "Please there's no need for all that. I'm not some snobby lord being fed grapes by her servants."

"I'm sorry about that," He scratches the back of his head. "It's a force of habit from some previous training before coming to the village that I seem to have a hard time kicking."

"That's understandable, though I am curious what kind of training you previously had."

"Um… it's a long story Master and I'm sure you probably are wanting to do some kind of training with us right?"

The red eyed woman just smiles, "I actually don't have any training in mind today. I meant this to just be an "introduce yourselves" day. If you wish, then I'll let you go first and you'll be free to talk about it. Besides, it might give me some insights on what you already know so I can plan accordingly on what to teach you."

"Ok well that would involve telling you guys something I've only told four other people."

Sakura perks up, "I'm going to guess that Naruto and Hinata are two of them."

Anakin nods and Shino asks, "If you have only told four people so far, would that mean you would like this to be a secret as well?"

"Well I'm not really trying to hide it, though I'd prefer if this is something that only I tell people if they don't know." Anakin answers.

"Alright then we'll make sure not to spread it around." Kurenai says with the other two in agreement.

Alright then here we go," Anakin starts. "This isn't my first life. In fact, I had a previous life and I still have all my memories from it."

The other three gasp and only Sakura is composed enough to speak, "So you're saying that you were reincarnated?" He nods so she asks another question, "So would I be correct in saying that's why you haven't been able to properly situate yourself with our customs?" Another nod, "So if you have already lived another life, why haven't you been able to grasp the concept of molding chakra? Even if you lived as a civilian before then you should still be able to since there's tons of ninja from civilian families."

"That's where you would be mistaken. See my previous life isn't actually from this world. I actually came from a completely different world." He explains seeing the confusion on their faces. "See I came from a place that has no chakra and I have been taught to use a completely different power."

"Would that power be what you have shown to use in class?" Shino asks.

"It's called the Force and before you ask, yes I will try to explain it to you. See the Force is an energy field created by all living things and makes it grow. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together. We who are Force-sensitive are trained in it, are taught that it is an ally and I can assure you that it is a powerful ally indeed. It takes years of training and disalpince to be able to wield it. The main reason I have trouble with chakra is because of all those years of using the energy around me, it's fairly hard to grasp using energy inside of me effectively. I can feel the chakra within me, but to use ninjutsu and the sort isn't possible at the moment until I can figure out how to use an external source of energy." Anakin explains.

Kurenai perks up, "So that vision you said you had last night, is it related?"

"It is one of the abilities brought about from the Force along with telekinesis which I'm sure you all have seen me do. It can also be used to enhance its user in their reflects and physical output, look into other's thoughts and feelings, and creates a shield around the user's mind to protect themselves from others trying to look in or someone trying to trick their mind if the user is strong enough to see through it."

"So would that mean someone who is a genjutsu user such as myself would have trouble using it on you?" The woman asks.

"Yes, although I will admit that it's only to an extent. If caught in a high level genjutsu I will definitely be caught in it with my normal five senses dulled, but I can use the Force to find where the weakness is and where any actual dangers will appear. That is just a theory that I am keen on testing though, and since I have you then I can definitely train myself to fight it better."

"Of course I will be pleased to help you with that. Another thing that interests me is that you said you can protect your mind from someone trying to look into it. Would that also mean that the Yamanaka Clan probably have a hard time getting in your body?"

Anakin smiles, "They in fact will. The Clan Leader tried to get inside my mind, but didn't get far enough to actually learn anything about my past even though I was taken completely by surprise by it."

The group is shocked, but not by much after learning about the Force's abilities. Kurenai lets out a small laugh, "Heh, if Inoichi couldn't get in then I can safely deduce that anyone will not be getting inside your head anytime soon. Well I think I have a decent idea of your power now and I am able to figure out what to help you with. You seem to already have a fighting style already set for you, so I need to get you to get your chakra under your control as well as seeing how the Force holds up against genjutsu. Alright Shino, why don't you go next and explain what you can about your abilities."

Shino nods, "Well the Aburame Clan uses bugs into their ninjutsu techniques. They are very versatile in what we can have them do. Spying, tracking, trapping, and attacking if need be. We are not limited to just bugs we breed in our clan, we are able to insert our chakra into wild bugs into our control. We are also the number one experts in all things bugs."

The females wait for him to continue, but Anakin has known him decently enough to know where this is going. "I think he has finished you two. He only says what he must." Shino turns to them and nods at this statement.

"I guess Sakura is next," their instructor says.

"Well I didn't come from a clan or something that has their own unique powers like the boys. What I can say is that I am fairly studious and people seem to say I have great chakra control." The pink haired girl says.

Kurenai nods, "So I've heard. I actually think you would have a great medical ninja or genjutsu user such as myself. If you are interested in becoming like me then I'll be more than happy to teach you what I know."

Sakura eyes lit up, "Really? That'd be great! Thanks Kurenai-sensei!"

The sensei nods, "Good to hear. Now about myself, I just said what my best ability is. I'm fairly decent at taijutsu and ninjutsu as well if I'm unable to use genjutsu. Now I think that's enough for introducing ourselves. I want you all rested and back here tomorrow at seven in the morning, got it?"

"Yes ma'am!" the three genin replied.

Author's Notes:

Well another chapter done. If you are wondering why Anakin with previous experience and knowledge of the Force didn't absolutely win in the fight, then let me explain. His previous body had the rich Skywalker blood in him that let his family's potential in the Force far greater than anyone else and let them have a far greater connection to the Force since his grandfather was the Chosen One. But now in his new body, he doesn't have any Skywalker blood in him thus making him have to train a lot harder and slower to reach his previous height of power. I do have plans for him to use chakra in the future, but it's going to be somewhat different than normal. I do know that Sakura is fairly mixed in how people feel about her, but I promise I do have plans for her more just than the obvious. Also it was pointed out to me that sensei means both master and teacher from last chapter and I honestly forgot it did. Though I like Anakin saying master instead of sensei to get that Jedi feel from him, so I'm going to let him keep doing it. Other than that I'm fairly happy with how this turned out, so I don't have much more to say. Thanks for reading and I'll talk at y'all next time!
