"Hmm, no not that one," Robin sighed as yet another gift idea was ruled out. This was proving a lot harder than he had expected. He wanted something special to give Lucina to show her how much he cared, and, hopefully, to tell her how he truly felt. Unfortunately, he was very much out of his depth here.

He, quite frankly, had no idea what he was doing. He had not even been on a date in as long as he could remember, so this was all pretty foreign to him, and he had quickly ruled out asking for help. Sumia would see right through him far too easily, and most of the others would pry too much. That left him decidedly short on options.

"Hey there, Robin," The tactician nearly jumped out of his skin upon hearing the last voice he wanted to hear right now. Not that it stopped Chrom from continuing, "Fancy seeing you out here. Doing a little shopping?"

"Um, yeah," Robin did a quick status assessment before finally deciding that maybe if he was vague enough this could work to his favor, "Actually, this is a bit embarrassing. I'm looking for a gift, but I'm having a hard time picking something out. I figure that since you're married you must know at least a little something about this."

"Oho," Chrom's grin threatened to eclipse his whole face, "Finally bitten by the love bug. I knew it'd happen sooner or later. Who's the lucky lady?"

"I would rather keep that to myself. At least for now. Sorry."

"Ah, no problem. The fear of rejection can be a major hurdle. I can understand wanting to keep it under wraps until you get things settled, but I'm sure it'll be fine."

"Thanks, I appreciate it."

"Now, did you have anything in mind?"

"No, not really. I haven't been able to narrow it down much."

"Hmm, well, you can't really go wrong with flowers."

"I thought about that, but there isn't a booth selling them."

"I'm pretty sure I saw some growing out on a nearby hill," Chrom replied, "Could grab some there."

"Would that work if I just picked them off the side of some hill?"

"Robin," Chrom put a hand on his shoulder as if he were about to deliver some sage advice, "Trust me, if you go out and get them yourself, they'll mean that much more. So long as she isn't shallow, but I doubt you'd fall for a woman like that."

"True," Robin mulled it over for a few seconds, "Yeah, I think I'll do that. Thanks, Chrom!"

"No problem," Chrom smiled as his friend departed, "And good luck. I'm sure Lucina feels the same way."

Robin paled and froze in his tracks just to see a laughing Chrom retreating further into town.

Lucina could not help smiling as she gently caressed the flower to make sure it was still in place in her hair. She was so happy that her more pragmatic side had temporarily been suppressed as, for once, she allowed herself to be happy. Something which did not go unnoticed by those around her.

"Someone's happy," Sumia grinned mischievously as she approached her daughter.

"Mother! Yes, I, well," Lucina stammered, causing Sumia to giggle.

"It's alright, dear. It's quite lovely. Robin is a lucky man."

"You knew?" Lucina blanched.

"Of course, and I knew you'd love the flowers."

"That was your doing?"

"Not directly, no. I knew he wouldn't ask me for help, so I sent Chrom to go move things along. So, when's the wedding?"

Lucina blushed intensely, "We're not engaged, mother. We agreed to take things slowly."

"Probably smart," Sumia relented, "It's not something you want to rush into. I'm just glad you're finally happy."

"You really don't mind my being with Robin?"

"Why would I be? He makes you happy, and I know he'll take good care of you. Plus, he's my friend and you make him happy. I wish you both the best."

"Thank you, mother."

"And that you'll get me some grandkids."

"Mother!"
