Ophelia and Caeldori stood in Morgan's room waiting for this grand reveal she had called them together for. In their experience, there was not much telling what she intended to show them. She could get excited over the strangest of things, but she had just returned from a mission along with several of the Shepherds so they were really not sure what she had in store for them.
"Thanks for coming," Morgan looked like she could barely contain her excitement, "I promise it'll be worth it. I present to you," Morgan stretched out her hands to a curtain that was conspicuously set up in her room, "Mo-Mo!"
When nothing happened, the sisters watched curiously while Morgan scowled to whatever she wanted to show off behind the curtain. With a huff, she reached behind said curtain pulled out, much to the sisters' surprise, a person. A young woman that looked eerily like Morgan herself with a different hair and eye color.
"As I was saying, meet Mo-Mo. My new sister."
"I am not your sister," She freed her arm and looked none too pleased, "And stop calling me by the silly name."
"Um," The redhead in the room finally broke her silence, "Mind telling us what's going on? Like why she looks so much like you, and why you called her your sister?"
"Oh yeah, fun story. Well, actually kinda sad. You see, Mom, Dad, and I went to another world that was kinda like Mom's but not exactly. One difference being this bundle of joy over here," Morgan swung her arm around the other girl much to her chagrin, "She had been manipulated and messed with, but Mom and Dad talked her down so she's coming to live with us."
"And you're absolutely sure the brainwashing is gone?"
"Eh, probably."
"Unhand me," Mo-Mo ducked from under Morgan's arm, "And I do not need you doubting me."
"Oh, don't be like that, sourpuss. You might have had really cool friends like them too."
"And if I did, I lost them when I ended up in that world with that monster. No, thank you." The dark haired girl left the room, "I've had enough of this."
Ophelia winced when the door slammed, "I'm not sure her heroic arc is quite finished."
"Eh, she's just a bit grumpy," Morgan shrugged.
"Forgive me, Your Highness," Caeldori started, "But how can you not see she is troubled? She's been through a traumatic experience. If you really want to be her sister, then you should be there for her. You shouldn't make light of something like this."
"Oh," Morgan deflated and kicked the carpet, "Yeah, guess that does sound pretty bad in retrospect. I was just super excited to have a sister."
"That's all well and good, but you should start by being one."
"You're right!" Morgan clenched her fists and put on a face of determination, "Time to go cheer her up and be the bestest big sister I can be."
"Er, don't overdo it," Caeldori called as Morgan left without looking back.
"That was unexpected," Ophelia blinked.
"Yeah, but it's still our Morgan. I'm sure she'll be fine. Probably."
Morgan spent the next several hours looking for her surrogate sister. It was a big castle, and Morgan was having a hard time getting into Mo-Mo's headspace. She did not mope that much herself outside of complaining she was bored if that could be considered moping so she was not sure about a good moping spot.
Eventually, however, she found success at an old balcony that was rarely used despite its nice view. There she was, moping up against the rail. Morgan sucked in her breath. She could do this. Be supportive. Remember how she felt when she was upset about not remembering her mother. Empathize.
With the last of her personal pep talk taken care of, Morgan approached.
"Nice view, huh?" Morgan tried to say something that would not upset her further.
"Lucky."
"Huh?"
The darker haired girl finally turned to look at Morgan, "You're lucky. That you ended up here."
"So did you," Morgan smiled, "Now we can be lucky together."
"Unfortunately, I do not have the benefit of forgetting."
"Huh?" Morgan tilted her head.
"I wish I could forget what that monster had me do. I was robbed of some of my most precious memories, the ones I had left twisted to make me more compliant. It was not until I saw Lucina that they started returning. I still…I am confused at times."
"Don't worry. We got some pretty smart people here. I'm sure we can undo it. Tiki might be able to help too."
"Heh, perhaps. Then I can know who I am," She looked at her hands, "But that won't wash the blood from my hands."
"Hey," Morgan put a hand on her shoulder, "Don't think too hard about it. Grima messed with your head. Mom and Dad clearly don't think you're some sort of monster."
"My parents. I think they died. I was sent away to save me, but I only ended up in Grima's clutches."
"Well, now our new parents are here to take care of us. You never have to be alone like that again."
"You are an insufferable nuisance at times," Mo-Mo paused for a moment, "But you can be surprisingly heartwarming when you want to be."
"Oh, well, go on."
Mo-Mo sighed, "And there it goes."
"And now that we're sisters, think of all the fun we can have. Frederick will rue our combined power."
"I do not wish to partake in your silly games."
"Hey, don't knock it until you try it. At least come to game night tonight. Even Mom's gotten pretty good at the strategy games. Should be a fun challenge."
"Hmm, very well. I suppose it could not hurt."
"Great! This is gonna be so much fun!" Morgan practically squeed with jubilation as she led her new sister away. As she was going on about the possibilities, Mo-Mo did wear a small smile.
