Disclaimer: I am getting nothing but enjoyment from writing this. After all, if I owned Harry Potter then I wouldn't be working on fanfiction, would I?
Sometimes
Sometimes, Remus thought that whoever was in charge up there had a seriously fucked up sense of humour. It was usually days when the moon was nearly or just full, or the days when he got the job rejections. Sometimes it was the days when Sirius brought home all those stupid bimbos. But it was his own fault. He should never have agreed to share a flat the man he'd craved for … two years now.
Sometimes, Remus thought that Sirius Black had a seriously fucked up sense of humour. Particularly his insane need to take him, Remus, on all those bloody double dates. Did he, Sirius, really think Remus wanted to spend time watching Sirius snogging someone while he listened to her friend with a 'really great personality' just so he could increase Sirius' chances of getting laid. And if Sirius really must insist on getting laid in their flat, could he at least us Silencing Charms like everyone else.
Sometimes, Remus thought James Potter had a seriously fucked up sense of humour. Just because the man knew about his attraction to Sirius, didn't mean that he could go on about it. Maybe Remus didn't want to think about the man at every single opportunity. Did he ever think about that? And does he really have to end every visit with the words 'Don't wait until it's too late'? Remus is perfectly aware of his own mortality; he doesn't need to be reminded of it all the fucking time.
Sometimes, Remus thinks Lily Potter has a seriously fucked up sense of humour. Just because James told her about his crush – and that IS all it is – doesn't mean she needs to give him those pitying looks every time Sirius comes in. And he really doesn't appreciate being told not be afraid of rejection by the woman that refused to date James Potter for two years because she was afraid of being hurt. Just because Sirius is bisexual, doesn't mean he will automatically be attracted to him.
Now, Remus knows that whoever it is in charge up there has more than a seriously fucked up sense of humour. And most of the time, Remus is very glad that he never told Sirius about his feelings. But sometimes … sometimes, Remus thinks that maybe he could have stopped Sirius from turning to Voldemort. Sometimes, he doesn't care if he could or not, as long as he'd gotten one kiss. But Sirius is a traitor. He killed Peter and James and Lily and tried to kill Harry. Sirius is a traitor.
But, sometimes, Remus doesn't care.
