The Winx Club's Sodor Adventures - Season 2
Episode 20: Percy's Predicament
Daisy and Bloom's work in the countryside was full of surprises. But Daisy was frightened to bulls and cows, and she remained very lazy and stubborn, which made the Fairy of the Dragon Flame miss Thomas even more.
One day, Toby and Roxy brought Henrietta to Elsbridge Station where Percy and Musa were grumbly shunting.
"Hello, you two," said Toby, "I see Daisy's left the milk van behind again."
"Despite the fact that it was only one van," said Roxy, "she still refuses to pull it. She's nothing but lazy and stubborn."
Musa sighed. "I guess me and Percy will had to take it on an unscheduled run, I suppose."
"Musa, are you crazy? Anyone would think we've nothing to do," grumbled Percy.
"Tell you what," replied Toby. "Roxy and I will take the milk, you and Musa fetch our freight cars."
The two girls and the stationmaster agreed.
Percy and Musa have never been to the quarry before. They began ordering the freight cars about.
"Hurry along," Percy said.
The freight cars grumbled to each other. "This is Toby and Roxy's place! Percy and Musa got no right to poke their noses up here and pushed us around." They whispered and passed the word. "Pay Percy and Musa back! Pay Percy and Musa back!"
"Come along," puffed Percy. "No nonsense."
"We'll give him nonsense," giggled the freight cars. But they followed so quietly that Percy and Musa thought they were under control.
Suddenly, they saw a notice ahead: 'All Trains Stop To Pin Down Brakes'.
"Peep peep! Brakes, Conductor, please!"
But before he could check them, the freight cars surged ahead. "On! On!" they cried.
"Help! Help!" whistled Percy and Musa.
The man on duty at the crossing near Elsbridge rushed to warn traffic with his red flag, but was too late to switch Percy and Musa to the runaway sidings.
Frantically trying to grip the rails, Percy slid into the yard. "Peep! Peep! Look out!"
The break van was in smithereens. Musa had jumped clear, but Percy was stranded.
Next day, Sir Topham Hatt arrived. Toby, Daisy and the fairies had helped to clear the wreckage, but Percy remained on his perch of freight cars.
"We must now try," said Sir Topham Hatt, "to run a branch line with Toby and a diesel. You have put us in an awkward predicament, Percy."
"I am sorry, sir."
"You must stay here till we are ready," continued Sir Topham Hatt, "and you and Musa really must be more careful with freight cars."
"Yes, sir," said Musa sadly.
Percy sighed. The freight cars groaned beneath his wheels. He and Musa quite understood about awkward predicaments.
Sir Topham Hatt spoke severely to Daisy too. He had heard what Bloom had told him. "My engines work hard with the Alfea fairies and the Red Fountain magicians on their side. I send lazy engines away."
"And nobody insults my friends and not do their jobs because they don't want to," agreed Bloom.
Daisy was ashamed.
"However," said Sir Topham Hatt, "Toby and Roxy say you worked hard after Percy's accident. So you shall have another chance."
"And you'd better change your attitude, so you won't mess up this one," added Bloom.
"Thank you, you two," said Daisy. "I will work hard. Toby and Roxy say they'll help me."
"Excellent. What Toby and Roxy don't know about branch line problems isn't worth knowing. These two are experienced workers."
"Thank you, sir," said Toby. "Years of practice."
"We're just doing our jobs," agreed Roxy.
"And Bloom," added Sir Topham Hatt, "I got good news for you. The men at the works said that Thomas' front is now repaired, and he'll be back to work with you tomorrow. He told me that he really misses you, and he can't wait to see you again."
Bloom was delighted. "Oh, thank you, sir!" she cried happily.
Next day, Thomas came back, and Percy was sent to be mended. Bloom, Annie and Clarabel were delighted to see Thomas again, and he took them to a run at once.
All were now friends, and Toby and Roxy have taught Daisy a great deal. She shooed a cow off the line the other day all by herself. That shows you, doesn't it?
