Rushing the little girl upstairs telling her that Kathleen was a nice lady that was making ginger biscuits, just as he sat down in his chair he heard a car pull up. He was early.

Remus felt his heart thud. Five minutes earlier and there could have been a disaster. Hauling himself from the chair he made his way to the door. Relieved that Kathleen's kitchen faced the back of their flat; as the black limo parked ostentatiously in a front of their front door. He man with the styled beard was defiantly Tony Stark.

"Hello Mr Stark," Remus said with a small smile as Tony approached him. "Nice to meet you," he said shaking his hand, and gesturing for him to come inside. Tony could tell Remus didn't have a lot of money, his clothes were frayed, and his land owner clearly didn't care his apartment was stuck in the past.

"Where is she?" Tony asked, he was desperate to see her, he looked around one door, he could see a little pair of jeans.

"You have to pass my tests first. I won't have her disappointed if you leave,"

Tony's head snapped away from the trousers and his eyes narrowed at him.

"And what do you mean by that?"

Remus sighed and gestured for him to sit, he did. Remus went to the high cabinet above the fridge and got out a carton.

"Is boxed wine ok?"

Tony nodded he wanted this Remus to get to the point. Why couldn't he see her yet?

Remus sat on the seat opposite him.

"Mim…" Tony could tell Remus was trying to phrase something a certain way. "Mim, is very special. More special than the other special people… like I am. Like her mother was."

"You mean she has a mental – "

"No, no. I haven't phrased this well… Do you believe in magic, Mr Stark?"

"Are you trying to be funny?" Tony frowned, why was this man trying to joke with him. He wanted to meet his daughter.

"Guess not, ok maybe a demonstration will help." He pulled an incredibly designed piece of wood from the draw behind him. He gave it a flick and the coffee table turned into…

"Son of a – How did you – What?" Tony got up to avoid the pigs snout.

With another flick of the stick the pig turned back into a table.

"Magic is very real, and there are people who have magic within them, they live in secret to non-magic people." Remus gestured to Tony who was still amazed. This man just turned the table into a live pig!

"Mim, is one of these special people, like her mother, and like me."

"Mim, is a witch? Or is that an offensive term?"

Remus smirked.

"Witch is fine. It means that they go to a magic school at the age of eleven the one in Britain is Hogwarts."

"You were worried I'd run because of magic?" Tony said finally understanding Remus's intention at the beginning.

"It happens." Remus said looking tried. "It's why Petunia treat her badly, she was always jealous of Lily." Remus sipped his wine.

"Have you got a picture?"

Remus laughed.

"She's like her mother, the camera loves her… but Petunia didn't take any – I have baby pictures though. Meet her tomorrow. I'll tell her who you are. I explained without going into too much detail, that you didn't know Lily was having a baby and I wrote to you,"

"How did Lily die?" he asked sipping his wine. Remus scowled.

"There was a war in our world. Voldemort who thought those who did not have full wizarding heritage were second class. Myself, Lily and other friends of ours joined a secret group to help fight this man… He had followers too, we were outnumbered extensively." Remus took another sip. Tony was fascinated, he wanted to learn everything he could about this new world, he would have never found. "The war ended when Voldemort disappeared the night he killed Lily, the night… the night Sirius..."

Tony could see Remus's free hand clench up.

"Perhaps the more extensive details can be saved for a later time." Tony said saving Remus from going on. "Thank you for finding and trusting me. I assure you Mim will be treated like any other child, I look forward to learning about this other world. But can I ask? Why Mimosa? I think it's a beautiful name, but the cocktail."

"Flowers are a big part of Lily's family. And Mimosa are most common in the American continents." He gestured to Tony, then rubbed his neck. "She wanted to try and make you a part of her, American plant, and her middle name."

Tony felt his eyes burn with sadness and gratitude for a woman he barely knew.

"Thank you, Remus." He said clamping his hand on Remus's shoulder. Remus smiled, and took a deep breath.

"You mentioned learning about our world. I'll find some books for you when you and Mim go out together." Remus promised sipping his wine.

"Can I take her out tomorrow?" he asked. Remus smiled.

"Of course, I am sure she will be very excited."

"How long have you had her?"

"Three days,"

"What have you learnt about her?"

Remus smile got wider.

"Well first of she…"

"Mim," Uncle Remus said, she glanced up to see a man wearing a t-shirt and a pair of jeans. When her eyes met his, the man smiled at her. Mim's gaze reverted back to her feet, she blushed heavily.

She could feel him walking right up to her. His black shiny leather shoes came into view. He crouched down, but he was still too tall for her to see his face.

"Hello Mim," he softly, bottling her courage and curiosity she looked up.

"Hi," she whispered blushing.

"Would you like to go and get something to eat?" he said holding out his hand, she nervously took it and gave a little nod. His hands were so warm it felt nice to have someone hold her hand…

"Mim," Remus said, the small girl with smooth wavy brown hair looked up. She was beautiful, adorable and perfect. He never thought he would fell his heart warm in the way that it did, the urge to cuddle and protect this little girl was overpowering. She had a resemblance to him in a way he couldn't deny. He smiled at her, she was adorable. Did he think that already? He could see her mother in her, but there was no question she was his with those high cheekbones and feminine version of his nose, eye shape, the shape of her face. His smile had the opposite effect to what he hoped as she dropped her gaze back to her feet, a blush creeping onto her face. He couldn't really blame her. Determined to make her talk to him, he walked until he was close enough for her to see his shoes, then crouched down.

"Hello Mim," he said tenderly, she looked up, YES.

"Hi," she whispered, her voice was so soft, her cheeks went darker, and he found himself finding it adorable.

"Would you like to go and get something to eat?" he said holding out his hand, pleading internally she would take it; timidly she put her tiny little hand in his. It was quite cold which worried him…

The two set out of Remus's little apartment, Mim's eyes widened as she saw the big black car, Tony smiled at her as a man with darker hair got out of the car.

"Mim, this is Happy, he is one of my very best friends." He said watching her reaction.

"Hello," she said shyly.

"Hello, little Lady," he said opening the door for them; she giggled tugging her father along she went inside.

"I don't know why we bothered with DNA. A picture would have done." Happy said quietly so the little girl wouldn't hear.

"I know," Tony said grinning.

"Alright where would you like to go?" he said, he smiled as he saw her scrunch up her little face as she thought about it, once she choose somewhere she looked up at him shyly.

"Can I try a McDonalds?" she asked him timidly.

"Of course you can. Happy take us to a McDonalds if you would,"

"Yes sir,"

The two sat down nuggets and big mac ready to be eaten.

"So Mim what is your favourite subject at school?" he asked her, she looked at her chips.

"Um, I dunno, everything is boring."

"Everything?" he said.

"It's all too easy, I remember it straight away. The other kids don't." she mumbled taking a bite.

"Do you remember everything?" he asked her. She has my eidetic memory, he though with a smile.

"Yes, is that bad," she whispered.

"No no, sweetheart, it is a very special gift that you should be proud of. I can do that too. It's called an eidetic memory. It means that you store everything very easily, and you don't lose it."

"Oh, ok," she said feeling a little more cheerful.

"What else do you like to do?" he asked her.

"I like making things," she said, taking a bite of the nugget. "It's fun and takes a long time."

"We'll get you some craft stuff," he promised.

After another half an hour of Tony trying to pull information from the little girl, he decided a new approach.

"Would you like some ice-cream?" he said. Her eyes widened and she shook her head frantically. Wondering why she looked so frightened, he put his hand on her shoulder.

"It's all right." He said. "That is a very pretty dress Mim," he told her she beamed at him.

"Remus says it's a special dress cause you don't wear it every day, but today is a special day… right?"

"Absolutely," Tony said softly. "Today is a very special day," he said…

"Why is your voice funny?" a pyjama clad Mim asked curiously.

Both men chuckled, Tony was glad she was gaining confidence.

"I am from America, we talk differently."

"We talk differently," she tried to copy making her father laugh even more.

"You have your accent and I have mine, don't try to change it." he said softly touching her cheek.

"Come on, cub bedtime," Remus said. "Tony do you want to read to her?" he asked, Tony nodded eagerly.

"What book do you want to read, Mim?" Tony asked her.

"Mog or the tiger who came for tea," she said thoughtfully.

"I like the sound of that one," Tony said picking the book out of her hands.

"Once there was a little girl called Sophie, and she was having tea with her Mom – er, mummy in the kitchen."

Tony kissed her head, before leaving the room, he went to turn off the light.

"No don't," Remus whispered. "She's scared of the dark,"

Tony smiled, leaving it on. The two men made their way to the kitchen, as Remus went to get the wine.

"Remus, I got Happy to get us something a little stronger." He said holding up the whiskey, he got to whiskey glasses and poured.

"You may just need it," Remus said accepting the drink. "James was one of my best friends; he was a pureblood – all magical blood. The wizarding world upper class society, anyway he needed an heir for the blood line… the kind of partner he wanted couldn't give him that."

"Oh," Tony said taking a sip.

"Lily was a good friend of his… helped him come out of the broom cupboard when we were at school. When she found out…" Remus nodded to the room with the sleeping four year old. "James came up with the plan."

"Marry him, he'd get his heir –"

"Lily would have friends and support for her and Mim." Remus finished taking a sip. "I think she should take your name,"

"What? But… weren't you – I mean James's – "

"He's dead, his parents – the whole Potter blood line is. You are her biological father, and her name is known in our world; sit Tony I need to tell you the rest of the story." He took Tony's glass and poured again.

"The story about the scar on her forehead," he guessed, taking the drink that the other man gave him…

"I mean our world will continue to call her Potter when she goes to Hogwarts. I imagine even if you decided to take her to Salem or Washington, they'd still call her Potter."

"So it would be for the Muggle world," he said. Remus nodded. Sighing, the billionaire downed the rest of his drink.

"Here." Remus said digging a book out of the bag by his side. "I found a few in Diagon Alley. This is one on Mim," Remus handed it to him. "This one is on blood status, culture and magical communities." Remus handed him another book. "Finally, these two are for the magic places in Britain and America, so you know where to go if I am not around."

"How can I… let me give you some money."

"No, I couldn't,"

"You bought these books, cared for Mim, the research, the work to find me, here."

He reached into his pocket and took out £500 then went into his wallet and look out another 1000.

"It's a start." He said as Remus's eyes widened. "Remus, this is pennies for me, please take it. If you don't I'll hide it around your apartment."

Remus chuckled.

"I'm sorry James made the same threat once," he said. "James and Sir – never mind. Thank you, Tony." He said taking the money.
