Grey half-light was filtering through the window when Sara woke up. She lay there for a while not wanting to be up and about so early in the day - especially not when she was in the group that had - for the moment - very little to do. A couple of days ago, she had put her head round the door where Martin, Ray, Cisco and Curtis were hard at work, Jax helping with the practical aspects. The technical talk had sounded like a foreign language to her, so she strolled away looking for something else to do.

Her bed moved when she didn't, and she recalled that she wasn't alone. Looking to the side, she could see dark hair next to her blonde tresses. The previous evening the 'layabouts' as she was half-mockingly calling their part of the group had settled down to watch a film and share a few beers. Rip and Eve had joined them for a while and Nora too, although the latter slipped away to join Ray. Afterwards, she and Len had walked the perimeter of the camp, neither feeling particularly tired - and now here they were. Lyla would not have approved, but last night she hadn't cared. She had needed something to banish the memory of that arrogant, hard-faced woman that definitely wasn't her Laurel, no matter what she looked like.

Rip was up early that day too. He'd followed his instincts to the Acheron's jump ship to find that, as he'd expected, Eve was standing studying the controls - or rather at what had been done to them. The 'tech team' - they had also coined a name for themselves - had - based on the information from Cisco and Snart - added controls that enabled the drop ship to travel between dimensions. There had been a few false starts - but the trial run, under the control of the Acheron's A.I. Morris had gone well. The next flight, piloted by Eve with guidance from Cisco and Curtis, was due to take place that day.

He squeezed her shoulder, gently. ''Stage fright?''

''A bit' 'she admitted. ''But curious - I want to see this Earth 2 of HR's.''

Everyone wanted to come, so everyone did. Eve, Cisco, Curtis and HR needed to be in the flight cabin and Rip had squeezed in there too. Martin, Jax, Ray, Nora, Carter and Kendra - the rest of the scheduled expedition team were watching on the passenger room monitors. Sara, Len and Mick had found seats at the back - curious but also glad that this phase was coming to an end, Cisco and Curtis would join them and they could start their own mission.

Eve Baxter went smoothly through the start-up sequence and then guided the jump ship until it was above the fencing that surrounded the A.R.G.U.S. compound.

''Punch it'' Curtis advised her softly.

''Brace yourselves'' Eve said and threw the lever. Her stomach lurched as an odd kind of tremor ran through the jump ship. The sky outside blurred into a chaotic mass of colour. They were moving but she couldn't have told anyone in which direction. When the view shifted back to something approaching normal, they were looking down at a city landscape that was familiar and yet strange. HR had given the co-ordinates for S.T.A.R. labs and they were hovering above S.T.A.R, labs but the building was different - more elegant. In fact, all the buildings in the area shared that quality.

''That was good'' Rip said, after she had safely landed the jump ship at the A.R.G.U.S. base. ''Tomorrow, we go.''

''Tomorrow go'' she agreed. Earth X, here we come.
