Curtis Holt was happy as he headed off to rejoin the Arrow team. What he had seen of Time Master technology had given him more ideas for future projects than he knew what to do with. Cisco Ramon was a bit less happy - yes, he'd enjoyed taking part on this mission. Yes, Barry and Co had been told he was safe. No, he wasn't looking forward to the next time he met Caitlin.
As for Lyla Michaels, this was very much of a mixed day.
She'd had to say 'Thankyou' to a man she disliked, who was presenting her with a problem, and his hulking sidekick.
She had taken possession of a piece of advanced technology, now tucked away at a secure A.R.G.U.S. site.
She had to send John to restrain the A.R.G.U.S. scientists and technicians who appeared to want to start taking the jump ship to pieces straight away.
Telling Floyd that, yes, he could take off to see Naomi had been one of the better parts of the day.
The next debriefing session ended on a much stickier note. Sara had done a good job. Lyla had said so. But -
Sara was very well aware of that 'but' and must know what it was.
''Your nocturnal activities'' Lyla made it definite.
Sara's face had coloured. Lyla was pretty certain it couldn't be embarrassment and was afraid it was going to be anger.
Lyla decided the best thing to do was to be very much Director Michaels.
''I'm giving you a few days off, Agent Lance. You have a choice to make, and I suggest you make it soon.''
Lyla's assistant, discrete, but probably very well aware of the tension in the last interview, had entered immediately after Sara's departure, bearing coffee and Lyla's favourite donuts.
''Only allow me one'' Lyla said regretfully.
There were no appointments, good or bad, scheduled for her after Satra's. She had time to think. Vandal Savage and his allies were unlikely to be finished. She needed to get ready for whatever they be planning to do. And she needed something - someone - better than this motley crew Hunter and Baxter had put together. In her mind she ran through a list of people, made a decision and then pressed the intercom to speak to be her assistant.
''Ask Agent Ava Sharpe to come and see me.''

When Sara exited Lyla's office, she was annoyed and at herself as much as Lyla. On one level, it had been a rotten idea for her - working for the US Government - to get personally involved with a known felon. She was annoyed by the 'I'm the boss' attitude Lyla had taken. She was annoyed with herself that she couldn't think of a way to explain that Len was much more of the person he'd been just before his death in her recovered memories - much less like the person he'd been at the start.
He was waiting in the car a few hundred yards from the offices she'd just left - out of surveillance distance. They had got to the stage when they might have kissed but he could see from her face it wouldn't be a good idea to try.
''That bad?'' he asked, with slightly uncharacteristic sympathy.
''I don't want to talk about it'.'' That sounded snappier than she'd - please just drive.''
''OK'' he nodded. ''Dead End, here we come.''
