After the scraplets, Jack realized he needs to learn and fast. Anything about Cybertronian biology. He needed to know whether he enjoyed it or not.

Picking at the cereal that Miko got him, he just placed the spoon back inside. Setting the bowl down at the desk he sat at. He banged his head against the table. 'I'm so hungry' he whined.

Ratchet has taught himself to be very observant. Having age and experience under his belt sure helped him with many situations. The most current of those were the 3 human children Optimus insisted on protecting.

It's not like they can't just give them over to their government to take care of. Ratchet has said this to Optimus more times than he can count. Even when Rafael helped them or Jack came up with plans to save the bots, he still held on to his beliefs. They were safer away from this war. It wasn't their fight.

Groaning, he looked at the screen before him. Letters blur. He couldn't focus. Sitting on the berth he eyed the 'human section'. The bots named it because the kids took the liberty of adding their touches to the space. The computers set up at a desk were Rafael's. The TV and game stations were claimed by Miko's, though everyone else used them. The only human to leave nothing was Jackson.

He would just sit and join the kids and bots in whatever they were doing. Lately, Ratchet noticed he's been looking worse for wear. Paler than usual and the few times he looks over Jack was staring at food as if it's offending him.

That hasn't been the strangest thing about the boy. He has gained the interest of all the Autobots. He seems to understand them more than the other children. He listens and feels for them. He has never treated them as if they were any different from him. That in itself is strange.

From the moment he met Jack he has kept an optic on him. The scraplet incident only brought more questions. Jack seemed just as scared of the creatures as they were. He didn't think they were cute like Raf and Miko did. He kept his distance.

Ratchet may have been preoccupied with the scraplets, but when Jack was trying to help he could have sworn he saw some of those pests attacking the boy. Like they figured out he had metal on him. Not much but a bit to make him confused.

Those images have been floating in his processor.

Noticing the child walking over to him, he gave him a confused face. Jack stopped before him, eye level with the towering bot. He watched the organic life form fidget and look everywhere but at him.

Growing impatient, Ratchet growled.

"If you have something to ask, just say it." He said. His voice made Jack jump but finally turn back to him. When their optics and eyes meet again he could tell Jack was tired. Proceeding to do a scan he found the boy was starving. His body needed food.

"Why aren't you eating, you need food." Ratchet shouted in outrage. Standing he walked to the human section, scanned the area for food, and was about to grab a random thing for the boy to shove down. He stopped when he felt a small, warm hand on his armor plating.

Looking down he saw Jacks' small face simply shaking his head.

"Why, you will die without it." He snapped. 'Did this teen have no will to live' he shouted to himself.

"Can you teach me about Cybertron?" His voice asked.

Ratchet was beyond confused. This child made no sense.

Jack looked away kicking his shoe against the ground. "I think we have more in common than you think," he stated.

He then looked up and what he saw shook my spark.

"By the Allspark" he simply whispered. 'Why can't things ever be simple' he groaned rubbing his helm.
