Robot psychopaths, warlord resurrections, and secret organizations after nuclear weapon devices. These were just a shortlist of all the Autobots brought to Jack's life. One thing he could say was he wasn't bored anymore. That doesn't mean his mom doesn't worry though. His skin may not be damaged or bruised but his clothes show all. It is a dead giveaway. When his mom came into his room that night he wasn't expecting her questions.
"Jack, what is this?" She held up a shirt from last week. The shirt wasn't special, it was even one of his newer ones. From the look of it now it's hard to tell. The dark gray shirt had blackened patches and rips that weren't for fashion. He swore he put it in the trash. There was no salvaging that shirt. He tried to before but now knew when to give up. This particular one was from the Airachnid incident.
Shivering at the thought of that bot, Jack looked his mom in the eye. He breathed in deep and he lied. Boy did he lie.
"It happened at school. We were doing work in art class and Miko went crazy with the charcoal." The lie tumbled out like second nature now. Looking at his mom he keeps a Poker Face up. He could not let her find out the truth. She would try and help, like always. They would move and he needed to stay. He needed to know.
Huffing, she drops the shirt in his trash bin by his door. Turning back to him she gives him a tired smile.
"Well, at least you made some friends." She said, crossing her arms. " But can you ask her to try and keep it to the canvas, I fear what I will see next if she continues this way?"
Laughing he smiles at her, more in relief that his fib worked than anything.
"Don't worry, I'm thinking about moving a few desks over. We will still be able to talk but out of the splash zone." Rubbing his neck, he looked at the bin that hid the shirt. These lies were affecting him. They weren't big and harmful. He dislikes the need for lying. There is no helping it. If he wanted to stay he had to keep his trap shut. For his sake and his mom's. She would probably lose her mind then ground him to oblivion.
"You should probably get some sleep, sweety, you may not have school tomorrow but you have work." She said shutting the door on him. On her son who was lying to her. He felt horrible.
Sighing he looked around his room before approaching the dresser. He found the tin of gum. Opening he saw less than ten remainings. He needs more soon. Reaching in he popped the gum in his mouth. Flinging the closed tin back on the dresser he made himself comfy in bed. Grinding the gum he grumbled about how many shirts he lost thanks to Miko and her need for excitement. He wasn't sure distance would help his wardrobe. Swallowing the semi-sweet gum he drifted to the black oblivion of sleep.
There are some days you just wish you could stay home. Today was that said day. It started with Miko running off to play the human hero again. Raf and he decided to try and save her from being crushed to death. He really should have stayed put. If he listened to his instincts he would be on a couch in the Autobots base. Pestering Ratchet for more gum. He was not loving the fact he ran out yesterday.
When they finally were going to be safe, they weren't. No, they weren't safe by being transported to another dimension. Just another situation to add to the list. 'Maybe I should start ranking them' he pondered while Miko and Raf were freaking out.
Looking around he noticed they seem to be in the same place, but not. 'Stupid 4th dimension' he groused, heaving for breath. Resting his hands on his knees he thought of how much sleep would be great right then. Then a ringing brought him back to reality. A reality much too fanciful for his taste, but hey that's life for you, robots and all. Reaching the phone he answered only to hit static, 'guess was not saved after all' he mused till it hit him. 'I get a signal, maybe they could read them?' He hardly realized that he talked out loud till Miko and Raf started hurrying him along. Of course, that's when the zombie con seemed to find them. Now started the game of forever tag that the humans play with deceptions.
He was honestly surprised he even came up with the plan. A crazy plan but possibly could save their butts. Who knew a severed limb from Starscream would come in handy. The plan was simple to use the missile on other zombie con. Simply push the trigger on the servos and wait then aim. Everyone was ready and in position, so why? Why was the trigger stuck? He was pushing and pulling with all his might but it wasn't moving.
"Jack! Hurry up or we are going to be zombie chow!" Miko yelled and panicked.
"I'm trying! It's stuck?" He yelled back just as desperate. He continued trying. "Raf, you got any ideas of what to do?"
"Umm.. it may need power..." Raf stuttered, eyes full-blown in panic as the zombie lumbered closer.
" Power! How are you going to get power in the desert!" Miko yelled. "We might as well just run for it like before." She pointed down the canyon that would lead them back in circles.
"Jack..." Raf said, looking between the two of the teens.
Jack looked at the hand and thought. This might be the only way to slow the bot down. He just needed power. Looking down at his hands he made a split-second decision. His face resolved, he placed his hands on the servo. Closed his eyes and concentrated.
"Miko! Raf! Get the missile lined up. I think I got a plan." He yelled back to them. He just hoped this worked. So absorbed in his work he hardly heard their confirmation. He just felt himself becoming weaker. Opening his eyes he saw the blue glow exerting from his hands absorb into the severed limb. Noticing the twitching be knew it was ready.
"Is it lined up?" He yelled getting into position.
"Yes, now hurry," Miko said, biting her nails.
The trigger gave out easily and the missile launched. Then they realized they didn't aim as well as they thought. Now they were on a chase again. This time with a zombie hand that can somehow go faster. ' This is a truly tiring day' he wanted to scream. When the space bridge portal appeared he truly wanted to run through right away, just like Miko, but with Starscream and the zombie's hand, they were stuck. They had to wait, then run and hope both problems took care of themself.
When they ran into Optimus coming out of their ground bridge he felt the exhaustion hit him. 'I used too much energy today.' His feet were becoming heavier as they went through the bridge. They were back and he was still mad at Miko. If only she hadn't wanted a picture. He huffed as she said it was her fault, which it was. He let go of the anger quickly as he finally took in his state. Miko and Raf were safe. There were no cons to trying to kill them. Lastly, they were back in the correct dimension. His brain told his body it was fine. The last thing he remembered was Raf and Miko yelling his name as darkness overtook his vision.
