Cécile

By Me

Summery: A newly crowned King Louis XV thinks of Cécile.

Cécile…

I miss the girl with orange colored hair. She brought me Stabdille when I needed him most. She gave me hope when I had none. She saved my life. Last I heard she was at sent to St. Cyr, Madame de Maintenon's school. I visited her once; she was excited to see me. Madame always fills me in on Cécile's adventures. I wonder… Where is she? I want to find her, bring her here again… to be my wife. Grandpapa banished her for saving my life, but I am in charge now, I am overruling her banishment. I remember when she danced with Bretagne at the Christmas Ball about five years ago…

She arrived almost 11:35 p.m., Bretagne and I where sitting belly-down on velvet cushions. "Cee-Cee" I cried grabbing on too her leg. "Hello Anjou" she said curtsying.

Bretagne came up smiling, and said "Let's dance". "Hold on" Madame said. "Cécile, you can not dance with royalty" she said seriously then as she snapped the pearls off wrists she broke into a huge smile. "Without the proper accessories" and snapped the pearls on Cécile and handed her a fan. "Oh Madame" she said smiling. "For this dance only" Madame said. "Merci." Bretagne and she started. I smiled. Then at the end Cécile in my opinion found her way into my mother's heart. Then Cécile left.

I loved her. She helped me when maman and papa died, then when Bretagne died. I would have died too, if she hadn't of locked herself in the closet with me in her arms with my governess and nursemaids.

When I heard she left I was crushed. I remember what happened:

I ran to grandpapa's apartments and said "How come you banished Cécile?" I was almost crying now. He pulled me up and said "Disobeying the court doctors is very serious, you need your nursemaids and governess, but Cécile was already under suspicion for poisoning your maman and even your papa" I understood, but of course I want to try to get him to overrule. "Oui, but she saved my life, doesn't that count for anything?" I asked. "Oui, but she was too much like her father, Dr. Revel, and if I had not punished her she would keep continuing this behavior." I sighed knowing it was hopeless. "Grandpapa, I think I will go visit Madame."

I said half smiling. "I will send a page to take you to Madame's apartments. Wait here" He ordered. I did and when the page arrived I knew it was Philippe, Cécile's favorite page.

We walked in silence, and then I asked "Philippe have you heard from Cécile?" I sounded hopeful. "No Anjou, I am sorry" he said, he understood completely, I could tell. "Meci" said I as soon as we reached Madame's. I bowed as he did and he scratched the door. The door opened and François, Madame's lady-and-waiting, smiled. "Bonjour Anjou" she said curtsying. Madame rose from her position and said "Anjou, I am writing a letter to Cécile, if you would like to say anything" she was smiling. "Oui Madame, tell her I said hello and that I miss her and I wish her nothing but good fortune" this was it I got to at least tell Cécile something

I was so excited when Madame de Maintenon said I could go visit her.

I walked into the school; Madame de Maintenon took me to Cécile's dorms. When we reached the dorms I saw Cécile. She walked up and curtsied "Bonjour, Madame de Maintenon, Anjou"

"Bonjour Cee-Cee" I ran and hugged her, and she quickly returned the hug. We spent the whole day together and when the day was over and we hugged again "Don't get married when I am king I will overrule grandpapa's punishment and you will be my bride." I whispered in her ear. "Oui Anjou" she curtsied I bowed and then we left.

I will find you Cécile. I vow it. You will be my bride. Queen Cécile. I like the sound of that.
