July 21
The training continued in a similar fashion for Harry and Ginny. They would work out in the morning, and they would then make breakfast together. After breakfast, the duo relaxed until lunch. After lunch, Sirius would teach them different forms of magic. They started with a review of first and second year spells. Ginny had to catch up, but the spells came surprisingly easily to her.
The next goal Sirius set out for them was the third through fifth year DADA spells.
"Ginny, you have to have to be quicker getting your shield up. The shield needs half a second to reach full strength, and if you don't, Harry is going to demolish you on Friday."
"You're finally letting us duel!" Harry interjected. Sirius had refused them fighting against each other for the past two weeks. It was very aggravating for Harry and Ginny.
"Yeah, I think you kiddos know enough now that the duel will actually be interesting."
"You're going down Harry!" Ginny said while elbowing Harry in the ribs. "What are the rules, Siri?"
"Well, first to incapacitate the other. The duel is not over if somebody loses their wand. You guys have to keep fighting without it."
"Awesome!" Harry and Ginny said. They were looking forward to Friday, even though it was still three days away.
Harry and Ginny got back to work and finished the rest of the training session.
After their magic practice, Sirius took them down to the basement to work on their Animagus potion that they started 2 days ago. Now it was at the point where it just had to simmer for 7 days with 14 counterclockwise stirs every 24 hours.
Then it was dinner time and Ginny had to go back to Aunt Muriels.
-The Truth Behind Major Events-
Ginny got back to Aunt Muriel's house in a fantastic mood. She had been having such a fun time training with Harry and Sirius, and just relating to Harry in general. He really was a great guy, she thought.
After opening the door, Aunt Muriel was standing in the parlor right next to the door with a tall, blonde man. Ginny, being related to the twins after all, decided to listen in to the conversation.
"Madam Muriel, will you please consider this agreement. It will take that girl off of your hands, and allow you to spend the money that I and the Weasley's have given you for the ball you want to have," said the blonde guy.
"I don't know Mister Malfoy. I don't particularly agree with betrothal contracts. They were frowned upon even in my generation."
So the blonde man was Lucius Malfoy, the same guy that gave Ginny the diary. Ginny slammed the door shut after hearing this and started walking in.
"Good evening Aunt Muriel!" Ginny explained. She had the fake oblivious face down to a T after all the years of blaming the twins on her own pranks. She blatantly ignored Malfoy though. She started to make her way upstairs.
"Now Ginevra, is that how you treat our guest? I know you haven't been around a lot. Maybe that man training you is not the best influence."
"Pardon me, Aunt Muriel, but I refuse to associate myself with a Death Eater." Ginny winced mentally after she said this. She was exhausted, and tired of her Aunt ignoring her. Plus, the betrothal contract was terrifying.
"That's it Ginevra! You either agree to this Mister Malfoy's proposal, or you are disowned from the Prewett family! Draco Malfoy is such a sweet young boy. Don't disrespect the Malfoy's like that!"
This threat was much more serious than just an Aunt kicking their niece out of the house. No. The Prewett and Weasley families were two of the three matriarchal families in Great Britain's wizarding community. These families originated from a group of Icelandic warriors during the 1500s. It explains the continuation of magical powers that most patriarchal families lost over time. Thus, the magical properties of matriarchal families made having a child be a squib very unlikely.
Disownment from a Matriarchal family caused the person's magic to slowly deteriorate out of them to the point that their body cannot take the stress of living without magic. This seemed a better alternative for Ginny than marrying Malfoy.
"Fine then! I'll be leaving then!" Ginny then proceeded to storm out and grab her trunk (which was already packed in case of an emergency).
As Ginny walked back down, Aunt Muriel declared, "As the head of the Prewett and honorary head of the Weasley family, I declare Ginevra Molly Weasley disowned!" Ginny stormed out and fled to Grimmauld Place. Her sudden arrival caused Harry and Sirius to come out of the living room where they were relaxing after dinner.
"Gin, you okay?" Harry asked.
Ginny then proceeded to break down. She almost collapsed. Harry came up and wrapped his arms around her. He made eye contact with Sirius who nodded and went back to the living room.
"Gin, what happened?"
"Harry, she disowned me. It was either that or marrying Malfoy." Ginny said through the tears. Harry was getting more and more confused. Ginny kept on muttering "I'm not a Weasley. I'm not a Weasley" over and over again. Harry finally caught on and held her tighter.
"I'm going to lose my magic Harry." And at that, Harry became determined for that to never happen.
