Chapter 2

Izumi POV

I was sitting in class, thinking about Izuku. Last night, he left and now I can only hope he's okay. As I was thinking about him, I saw someone put their hand on my desk. "So, where's Deku?"

I looked up and saw Bakugou, or as Izuku likes to call him sometimes, Bakubitch, which I find funny. "Go away Bakugou."

"Aww, don't be like that. I just wanna show the nerd his place for looking down on me for thinking that he can be a hero."

He was really starting to get on my nerves. "Look Bakugou, I'm not telling you where Izuku is."

Bakugou began to get really angry with me thanks to his very short temper but I just stared at him. Before anything else could happen though, the teacher came in and started class.

'Don't worry, Izuku. I'll do my best to keep you safe from here.'

——

It's been ten years since my master began to teach me the ways of the sword. He was like the father I never had. After I crafted my weapons and armor, I left his small cottage and returned to the city.

I decided to be a vigilante with my skills. I knew it was illegal but I wanted to help people. Not to mention UA or any other school wouldn't even let me in without a school record and since I left when I was eight, I never finished school officially. Master taught me everything I needed but that wasn't gonna cut it so here I am.

I was sitting on the edge of a building, watching over the city, when I heard what sounded like a girl scream only for it to be cut off. I rushed to the location and saw three guys there surrounding a girl with pinkish red twin tails. One had a knife to her throat and a hand over her mouth. "Give us your money, girly or we might have to hurt you."

"Hey, what do you say we have some fun with her?"

I jumped down from the rooftop I was on and drew one of my two longswords and smashed the pommel into the back of the head of the guy holding the knife to the girl's throat, knocking him out.

The other two turned to attack me as one had a knife but the blade just bounced off my chest plate. When they both looked and saw me, they began to freak out. "Oh shit, it's Mura!"

Before they could run, I grabbed both of their heads and smashed them together, knocking them both out. I looked at the girl. "Are you alright?" I had a voice modulator in my helmet to hide my voice. It made it deeper while also layering it with different levels of deepness.

"Ah! Y-yes. Thank you."

"It's no problem. If you are sure you are alright, call the police. They can handle things from here."

As I was about to leave, the woman stopped me. "Wait! Those two called you Mura. Is it true?"

"Yes. I am Mura. Why?"

"I just wanted to meet you. I know you're a vigilante but you save people. You're a hero."

"That's why I do this. To save people. But I'm not a hero. Not to the law. To them, I'm no different than a murderer or a deranged psychopath."

"Then why don't you become one?"

I turned back to look at her. "Heh, if only it was that simple. I'm sorry, I must leave. Please, stay safe." I jumped up the side of the building and made my way home for the night.

??? POV

I watched as my savior left as I heard police sirens in the distance. I told them what happened and one of the officers took me home. When I got there, I went to my room and went to bed. 'I wonder if I'll ever meet him again?'

Izumi POV

Today was the day of the exams. As I was getting ready, my mind began to go back to what dad wanted to talk about last night. What he wanted made me absolutely furious with him to no end. It made me want to scream my head off at him.

Flashback ~(-w-)~

I was sitting in bed, writing about some of the newest heroes when I heard a knock on my door. "Izumi, I want to talk to you about something."

I got up and opened my door. "What?"

He came in and sat down in my desk chair so I went and sat down on my bed. "I wanted to talk to you about my quirk. As you know, I'm All Might."

"Yeah. It wasn't that hard to figure out since you got your injury the same time All Might stopped working for a week. So what about your quirk?" I asked in a bored tone, wanting to get back to my hero journal.

"Well, my quirk is very unique. It's called One for All. It is a quirk that is passed down from generation to generation through the ingestion of dna. You see, when I was about your age, I wanted to be a hero more than anything. But, there was a problem. I was quirkless. My master, when she learned this, decided to take me under her wing and made me into the hero I am today. And now, I want to pass it to you."

As I heard him talk, I could feel my anger begin to rise. 'He was quirkless and still did all those things to Izuku?!' Before I let my anger get the best of me, I took a breath to calm down. "Dad, no. I won't take your quirk."

He seemed surprised at my answer. "Izumi, you're the perfect candidate. You have the heart of a true hero and the determination to carry it to its end. Why?"

"Can I ask you a question?" He nodded. "Why not Izuku?"

"Izuku? He's not cut out to be a hero. He doesn't have a hero's heart or the determination. It would be a waste to give it to him."

I held my head down when I heard him say that. "Get out."

Dad looked at me surprised. "What? Izumi what's wrong?"

"I said get out of my room." I was trying my best to hold in my anger at him.

Dad didn't say anything else and left. I used my telekinesis to close my door before going back to my journal.

These last few pages were dedicated to a new vigilante that showed up recently but made a big hit in the streets. People called him Mura. He's never killed anyone despite his main weapons being two European longswords. He also gives villains a choice to surrender unless they attack. He's like a knight in shining armor for those he saves but the police seem to have some sort of vendetta against him.

As far as I know, they've never come close to catching him even with that heavy set of armor. I wasn't sure what his quirk was so I was writing down different ideas about it. 'Maybe sword creation? Or a super strength quirk of some kind? Oh, or maybe some sort of teleportation or warp quirk? Ugh, there's too little info about him from eye witnesses. Maybe it's some kind of sound dampening quirk?'

——

I stayed up later than I intended but managed to wake up on time. Anyways, I was heading downstairs to leave when mom called me into the kitchen. "Honey, why were you so upset with your father last night?"

I really didn't want to talk about this right before my exam but I knew now it was unavoidable. "Where's Izuku?" I asked her, crossing my arms.

"Your brother? In his room, I would think." She looked at me confused.

I sighed before going to the door. "Mom, we'll talk about this after the entrance exam." With that, I left the house and made my way to UA university.

On my way, I kept thinking about Izuku. 'I hope he's okay.' He's called a couple times to let me know he's fine but I can't help but worry from time to time.

As I walked in and sat down, I saw both Bakugou's in front of me. Katsuki seemed overly cocky as always but Katsumi seemed… off. I put that out of my mind for now and focused on the exam.

——

The written exam was pretty easy. There were a few questions that I had some trouble with but I think I got through with a passing grade. Now, I was sitting in a big auditorium as Present Mic walked up to the podium in the center. He began to go through the exam, explaining the robots and their point values. He just finished explaining the three pointer when a kid with blue hair and glasses. 'He looks like a sonic ripoff. Izuku probably wouldn't like him very much.'

"Sir, you did not explain the fourth robot that is clearly shown in the pamflet! If this is a mistake or misprint, then that is very unbecoming of UA, the most prestigious hero school there is! This kind of mistake is unforgivable and-"

"Shut up!" I yelled out. He looked at me with a glare. "If you were patient, you would know that he was just about to explain that, rather than waste everyone's time!"

The boy looked at me for a second before he sat down. I sat down as well and Present Mic went on to continue his explanation. Once he was finished, we all went to the buses that took us to seperate fake cities that made me wonder where UA gets all of the money to pay for all of this stuff.

The doors to the city opened and I took off inside with a few others, leaving many behind including a sonic ripoff, yelling at everyone who ran inside, only for him to be interpreted by Present Mic yelling about how there are no countdowns in real life.
