Chapter 7: Sports festival 1
... . .-.. .-.. --
The gates opened and I made it my way past everyone by jumping on the narrow walls. As I reached the exit, the doorway froze over and through the thick ice, I could see Shoto smiling at me with Bakugou next to him.
"WOW, LOOK AT THAT! SHOTO TODOROKI FROZE OVER THE ENTRYWAY TO THE OBSTACLE COURSE!" Present Mic announced much to the annoyance of Aizawa.
I hit my gauntlets together and sharp, pointed shields came out as I punched my way through the ice. It easily broke under my punches and shattered to pieces by the third punch, leaving a shocked Shoto who was running down the course.
"AND MURA EASILY BROKE THROUGH LIKE IT WAS NOTHING! WHAT ARE YOU TEACHING THESE KIDS, ERASER?!"
"I'm not teaching them anything. This is what they've learned for themselves."
"YOU HEAR THAT FOLKS?! ERASER IS A TERRIBLE TEACHER!" Mic was then hit over the head by an even more annoyed Aizawa.
Landing on the ground, I immediately broke into a sprint and quickly passed both Shoto and Katsuki, leaving them in the dust.

No one POV
A man with a steely, focused look watched the race. He had a single sword on his hip and a scar on his face. He kept his eye on the screen as the race played. He noticed someone come up behind him. "What is it, Endeavor?"
"Why are you here?" The hero grumbled out.
"I am allowed to see the sports festival if I wish. There are no rules saying I can't."
The hero glared at the man. "You're a villain. You should be arrested."
"I've broken no laws. Your brother sought the sword knowing full well of the curse. My job is to stop those foolish enough to seek it out and take it. Your brother's death is on him."
The hero stood there with one desire. To burn the person in front of him to a crisp but he knew he couldn't. He walked away, grumbling to himself.
——
Izuku had just arrived at the first obstacle and was easily avoiding all of the robots. He quickly passed them and was still in first by a large margin.
Arriving at the second obstacle, he jumped over the pit to the different platforms and quickly got through.
The third obstacle wasn't of much note. Izuku just charged through, taking the explosions like they were nothing.
"In first place, we have Mura!" Midnight announced. The crowd was mostly silent. Many of the observers weren't too keen on cheering for a vigilante.
——
Izuku POV
After the second round was over, all of the teams gathered around the stage Midnight was standing on. "The teams going on in the event are team Mura, team Shinso, team Katsumi and team Katsuki! Now we'll take a break for lunch!"
Everyone was headed to the lunchroom to eat before the final round. As I was walking, I was stopped by Izumi, which surprised me. She wanted to talk to me in private. I went with her, wondering what she wanted.
We were at one of the side entrances and she was fiddling with her fingers, nervous. "U-uh, M-Mura?"
"Yes?"
"I-I, uh… a-are you good at finding people?" I nodded. "C-can you find my brother? H-he's been gone for over ten year." She began to cry. "I-I just want to see him. J-just once."
I just walked up to her and hugged her. I wiped away some of her tears. "Izumi, don't worry. Your brother is fine. Believe me when I say he's closer than you realize." She looked up at me confused. "I'll tell you after the festival, alright? I promise you'll see him soon."
She nodded and we went to the lunchroom to enjoy lunch with our friends.
——
I was standing across from Hitoshi Shinso. He looked at me and I could tell he was pissed at me. Midnight cracked her whip and got our attention. "Are you two ready?" We both nodded. "Begin!"
"You should be locked up like the villain you are. I bet all of the people you've "saved" are all threatened by you to say that you saved them and you probably robbed them."
I just took a deep breath and let it out, relaxed. "It's a really nice day for a sports festival isn't it, Ms Midnight?" She looked at me confused before nodding and I just grabbed the wooden swords from my back. "Well, better get this fight started."
I began to approach him. "What? Think you're too high and mighty to speak to me?"
I walked closer as he got angry and when he tried to punch me, I deflected it to the side before tripping him and holding my sword blades on either side of his neck. I put my foot on his back so he couldn't get up. "Hitoshi Shinso is unable to move! Mura wins the match!"
I removed my swords and let him get up. He rubbed the side of his neck as he glared at me. "Tch, all of you with heroic quirks are all just assholes who don't understand what a heroic quirk is."
"You're an idiot." I pinched the bridge of my nose on my helmet. "Do you think that the people in the hero course got in because they have "heroic quirks"? No. They worked hard for years to get where they are while you whine about how it's unfair for you to not get in even though you haven't put that much effort in. Heroes make up for their shortcomings with hard work and determination, not whining. Come find me when you learn that lesson."
I left the arena and went up to my class's seating area. They were congratulating me about my win when Sero left for his match.
——
Sero didn't last long since Shoka froze him in an ice glacier. She unfroze him but seemed visibly pained doing so.
Iida 'won' to a girl from the support course who used him as a Guinea pig to show off her invitations. Momo lost to Stella and looked upset. Kaminari lost quickly to a girl from 1-b with vines for hair. Mina lost to Shoto and got some bad burns but Recovery Girl should be able to heal them.
Izumi had to fight Katsumi. Her fight went pretty well. She would use her quirk to either redirect the explosions or protect herself with a shield she learned to make over the training I had with her.
I noticed that Katsumi seemed to be holding back a lot and I already figured the reason. Izumi wasn't too happy with that and kept pushing Katsumi to stop holding back against her.
Eventually she relented and began to fight seriously and Izumi just barely managed to pull out a win.
Katsuki ruthlessly faught Kirishima and won, causing a lot of damage to Kirishima.
It was time for me to fight Shoka so I got up and walked towards the arena. On my way there, Endeavor walked up to me. "You, you're fighting Shoka, right?"
"Endeavor, father to Shoka and Shoto Todoroki. A terrible excuse for a father or hero."
Endeavor began to grow angry. "Listen here, I'm going to give you two options. First, you get Shoka to use her fire so she can crush All Might. Second, I have you arrested for attacking a hero."
"You are really stupid. You can't arrest me for that to begin with and if you did, I know a certain detective who can easily prove my innocence." I moved to walk past him but he got in my path again.
"I can easily buy out that detective. Money is of no consequence."
"That just shows how ignorant you are. His name is detective Tsukauchi. You're welcome to try and bribe him." I walked away, ignoring him as he tried to stop me from walking away.
When I got out to the field, I saw Shoka there looking slightly upset. When I stepped into the arena, she looked at me.
"You look upset about something. Is everything alright?" She just looked away, ignoring my statement.
Midnight cracked her whip, gaining the attention of us both. "Are the two of you ready?" I nodded to her while Shoka nodded while looking at the ground. "Begin!"
