A/N: Okay, so this is a short little piece based off of two things: a recurring dream I've been having for as long as I can remember, and the song "I Miss You" by Blink-182. ("Hello there, the angel from my nightmare...")

It will not be continued, so if you ask me to, you will be wasting your breath. However, if someone would like to write a sequel/continuation with the same premise, you are more than welcome to it. Just please, tell me first.

She was falling.

Blackness was all around her, choking her, squeezing the life from her.

She fell past her parents, past her brother, past Angela, but could not cry out to them. Salvation was always out of reach.

Into the abyss she tumbled, like Alice down a twisted sort of rabbit hole. She didn't have to look down to know that there was no end. There was never an end. Only him.

Temperance woke with a start. Shaking and dripping with sweat, she turned her alarm off and sat in silence. She had fallen past him again. Every night was the same. He would come closer, closer, and then he was gone. Each night she fell nearer to him, but never near enough. She kept falling. Always.

The routine had become familiar, even predictable. She would arrive at work that morning, having shaken off the effects of the night terror. He would make his entrance some time after, greet her with a "Mornin', Bones!" and a smile, and she would be falling all over again.

She was falling, terrified and helpless, waiting for the day when the angel from her nightmare would finally catch her.

As always, I like honest reviews... but be polite. Flames ruin my day.
