"Sokka?"
He glanced over at the Airbender, staring glumly at the ground.
"Yeah, what is it?"
"It's nothing."
He nodded, and rocked back on his heels.
"Alright."
The boy looked up at him, quiet, but cowed by his seeming indifference.
"They're all dead, Sokka."
The Water tribe boy drew a tight smile, eyes pricking with unwanted tears. He'd heard that before—said that before. He recognized the quiet revelation that there was a great loss.
"I know, Aang."
"They're… all dead."
The older boy shut his eyes. "I know."
