AGENT OF THE BAU

CHAPTER TWO

August 17th 1996, Ministry cells, Ministry of Magic, London.

Despite moving very quickly for the British Wizarding isles It had been a full two weeks since the fight in the alleyway and Amelia was run off her feet, It had taken that time to organise appropriate trials for both Dumbledore and Moody. Arthur Weasley and Remus Lupin having originally been arrested with the older men were let go after being questioned under Veriterserum. Once out Saint Mungo's and almost fully healed Dumbledore and Moody were transferred to Ministry cells, where Amelia led the questioning of both men again under Veriterserum. Despite both being charged with breaking the statue of secrecy, the information given to her from Azalea and her allies once reviewed by a chosen few from the Wizgenmort and their ultimate confessions, Dumbledore faced much more serious charges and as such they were given separate trials. Amelia sighed as she walked down the Cell block to where an obviously tired and Ill-looking Albus Dumbledore sat awaiting the news from Moody's trial.

"Hello Amelia" Dumbledore said sounding as defeated as he looked fiddling with his magical repression cuffs

"Hello Albus" Amelia replied standing at the bars "I have news...news on Alastor's trial"

"And?" Dumbledore asked clearly concerned for the man he called friend

"He was given five years in the low security wing of Azkerban" Amelia replied "It would have certainly been less but Duchess Potter-Blacks status as the head of two houses and as the Girl-Who-Won unfortunately went against him"

"I understand Amelia" Dumbledore replied after a moment of contemplation "I hope his long service with the ministry as an Auror was taken into account"

"Yes hence the low security wing" Amelia replied and reinforced "Luckily he's not considered a flight risk"

"And I am" Dumbledore admitted sheepishly looking up the the minister with knowing eyes "When is my trial?"

"In two hours" Amelia replied "Their giving everyone a break and bringing in a new jury...a mix of Wizgenmort and ICU Witches and Wizards...they want to give you a fair chance"

Dumbledore puzzled over it a moment before nodding. Seamed the fairest way for a trail especially for a wizard as famous and well known as him.

"Thank You" Dumbledore finally said breaking the silence "I think that is...very sensible...wise even"

Amelia managed a small smile and nodded turning to the side to go back to the Wizgenmort courts.

"I will see you there" she said after a moment "And I hope you receive a sentence...that you can accept"

"So do I" Came Dumbledore's answer nodding at Amelias back there was no goodbye between them, they knew they'd never meet in person again.

Washington DC August 31st 1996

Azalea sat on the back porch of her new home and watched the sun go down in an emotionally confused daze. Ever since she'd ended Tom Riddle's reign of Terror she'd experienced a strange array of freedoms with events leading up to the third of August when the showdown with Dumbledore happened and her escape via car, and now thanks to the letter in her hand Azalea was now truly free.

"What you got there?" came Toby's voice from behind her making Azalea jump.

"Oh...Hey" Azalea replied after a moment "A joint Letter of sorts from Grimjaw and Trollspear with information...about Dumbledore's trial"

"Oh" Giovanni started following Toby out and sitting down opposite her "What does it say?"

"He gets five years" Azalea replied trying to read the appropriate part of the letter again "In the maximum security wing...under the Dementors"

"Sounds fair" Toby announced sitting down beside her "Well enough for him anyway"

"He deserved longer" Azalea admitted sheepishly letting the multi page letter fall to the floor as her gaze returned to the skyline

"Certainly" Giovanni agreed "No matter what he did during WW2 with Grindelwald he did so much damage, hurt so many people..."

"Even me" Azalea threw in with a warbled voice as tears welled in her eyes.

Giovanni shifted seats to bear hug Azalea alongside Toby as she physically shook and tears spilled down her cheeks...now she was truly free the hell she'd been through had finally caught up with her...and now it was time to mourn the loss she'd gone through.

Azkerban Prison, High-Security wing, September 1st 1996

The pressurised sadness which often accompanied Dementors began to ease surprising the Ex Headmaster. Dumbledore cautiously approached the bars and watched as the pair of Dementors slowly floated away down the corridor, passing other inmates in their own cells. It would be another five minutes max before another Dementor crossed his door. Albus Dumbledore knew how far he'd fallen and knew if he'd ever get out his climb back to the top would be long and hard...if he ever lived through his sentence. He gave his withered arm a glare before settling down on the small bed provided to all inmates, Knowing once asleep the sadness wouldn't penetrate his dreams. After all It was September 1st and If he hadn't of messed up he'd be in the Hogwarts Great Hall awaiting the arrival of the students both new and old, ruling over the small kingdom he'd fought hard to make his own.

As he tried to get comfortable something landed on his head, something light...something smelling of ink and paper. Opening his eyes and raising a hand to his head Dumbledore looked at what had landed on him...it was a letter, he looked up to the window to see an owl which hooted at him and flew off. Dumbledore felt hope stir in his chest as he cautiously opened the letter and began to read. When the Dementors returned to his cell, they could feel the Euphoria radiating off of the old man and as such remained outside his door until it subsided. However Dumbledore didn't care, he still had an ally and if all went well with the plan forming in his mind he had a way out too. Even if he died to do it.
