Chapter 9

Itadori stuck around for a while longer, yet when Suiryu came about he took the brothers off to the side, one by one to see their progress. When it was his turn, Junpei explained that he may have found his technique, it was linked to all the brothers in a sense as well, he can take in any sort of blood and convert it to his own so the brothers are able to use it in battle as well.

"Ah, a universal donor are we?" teased Suiryu. "Okay then, what else you got?"

"Uh… I… I rather show this in private…" Junpei said meekly.

Suiryu nodded. They left the camp and headed for a small mountain range. There Junpei explained these mouths on his hands, but recently learned he could move them about on his body. "Shit, like what Sukuna could do… then again some of his influence was bound to mix in…"

"Sukuna? You mean…"

"Like it or not, yeah, you see… Junpei, you and the bros came OUT of Yuuji, remember? Transfiguration reincarnation. You need a host, materials and the souls of those you wish to bring back. So naturally, some of Sukuna's power may have slipped in there. For you, it's those little mouths. And you said you can move them right?"

He nodded and explained that he has been able to shift them to his back, when they open up, blood can come out, but at the same time it lingers there. "I think I can make blood wings or something. Eso said he makes those… part of his ultimate technique. I borrowed from that to see if perhaps I can make blood wings to fly…"

"You could also try using your curse energy… then again not even Yuuji does that… if he did he would he in space by now…" he muttered.

Junpei snorted a laugh, he could picture Itadori doing something like that! "But, that's besides the point, I was wondering is it possible?"

Suiryu appeared rather curious. "I think so, I mean it allows Eso to do so correct. I think you have a good chance of it working for yourself." He paused as he looked around and then peered off the side of the small cliff they were standing on. "Okay then, let's start the lesson then, and let's let nature guides us…" he decreed.

Why did a chill just go down his spine?

Suiryu looked him over, top to bottom. "Your energy is still in flux, I can see that, at the same time you are learning from your brothers and understanding their method to better your own. Although you do not have the same technique as all of them. Sho for example, he can devour a whole body and absorb their technique into himself. The draw back for him is if and when he consumes someone stronger, he loses that technique. That can be a weakness, for if he masters one and yet gains another, what he has learned is pointless, correct? As well, gain a new technique without knowing it properly like the last one…"

Junpei didn't consider that, but he agreed. Sho also doesn't appear to be the kind that would abuse his power either. Despite his appearance, he is rather laid back and goes with the flow. However if there is an issue, he is there front and center for the family.

The other one is Tanso, he cannot possible copy his talent with the blood maggots, but he is able to make blood familiars and weapons too. The muscle, bone and flesh manipulation he hasn't even dared to try yet.

"So…" Junpei said nervously. "What's the lesson for today?"

Suiryu's smile turned creepy.

Like horror film, murderer just revealed himself to the masses he is about to slaughter creepy. "As I said, we take a lesson from nature when it comes to this…" he said in such a calm and yet oddly cheery voice.

"Oh? So like an animal?"

"Exactly, I am drawing inspiration from birds today." He decreed.

Birds?

"Okay…" Junpei said in a creeped out tone. "How?

"How they always teach the little ones to leave the nest…." Suiryu said as he inched closer.

At the time, Junpei had no idea how close to the edge he was. "And how's that?"

His smile grew. "Fly, bitch" and kicked him!

Suiryu kicked him off the side of the cliff! He remembered screamed as he thought he would plummet to his death, only to hear Suiryu shout from the top. "DON'T WORRY THE FALL WON'T KILL YOU!"

#

He doesn't remember much about the fall. Besides the fact he hit every single tree limb possible! He came to on the ground with Suiryu peering down at him.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk… you didn't even spread your wings let alone make them. How the hell do you expect to fly without your goddamn wings? Noob…" he muttered.

"Don't you mean newb?"

"Maybe? I still don't know that much human slang yet, I'm getting there..."

Junpei was rather stunned that he recovered as fast as he did, then again, that kind of a fall should have killed him. Perhaps there is a bit of benefit of being half curse at the moment! "Gah, why did you kick me!?" he demanded of Suiryu. "I wasn't ready!"

Suiryu became rather serious. "A sorcerer's growth isn't by leaps and bounds, and more often than not, it's because they are on the cusp of life and death. That there, was a jumpstart. You see, despite the fact that you are half curse, we are using your human side to our advantage. After all, you got that fear of death in you still. We are going to use that to get your curse strength and ability to a level I am happy with."

"Wait, this was to get my curse energy up?!"

"Up and also evolve it. There is untapped potential in you, and I want to see it all first hand!" Suiryu said as he licked his lips at the thought of it all. "Imagine that, I'm excited to see something like this… got to admit it's nice."

Junpei… got three-degree creeps off of Suiryu.
