Chapter 21
Junpei has been busy.
He got a new computer recently thanks to Suiryu, and with that he began to explore the internet. Mainly the dark web and watching what was coming in and going out. He just learned recently of a trafficking ring being set up, and they were going to be arriving at the Handea airport with some 'surprise goods'.
"As such perhaps these are the people we need to stop." Junpei explained as he and Tanso made their way to the airport. They kept to the shadows to make sure that no one saw them coming, as well, they could sense curse energy at the airport as well. Something… something was going on here.
Stationing themselves near by, yet kept a view from the top, Junpei peered down at the tarmac and saw the sorcerers standing and waiting. "Why would they be here? There are no curses in the area… unless…" he paused.
Tanso tapped his shoulder gently, almost worried for him as he went deep into though. "Hear me out for a moment. I learned that there was never a police report about my mother being killed, let alone me being killed. It was all covered up, which means the general public does not have much information on this do they? If any, also even the police are in on this…"
Tanso's head tilted in confusion. "Sorry I am not making much sense am I? When something terrible happens, we usually have the police that deal with it, however, if it is curse related, they turn a blind eye and let the council deal with it. Which explains the sorcerers here. The police will assume it out of their hands and it has something to do with curses… when it's really a cover for a smuggling ring."
Junpei turned back to his brother who appeared rather amazed by his deduction. 'How do you know that?' Tanso asked with great admiration.
"Just looking at the signs of it all, so, those sorcerers have been bought off so the police won't look this way… so we got some work ahead of us here."
They waited, by midnight. A plane finally arrived. The sorcerers scolded the smugglers on being late. "Where the hell were you? I am increasing my fee for making me wait here!"
"Easy, we ran into a little altercation… we also lost some product so they need to be rid of as soon as possible."
"I got a place," one man said with a slimy grin. "The bodies vanish by the next day…"
Junpei paused oddly, he has noticed new familiars from Tanso, and yet he hasn't mentioned anything… He suddenly turned to his older brother. Tanso appeared a little embarrassed at the notion but nodded. "So they have a dumping ground near us then? Okay, Tanso. Head back, wait for them there and take them! I'll deal with the smugglers."
He was stunned to the decree, but Tanso nodded and began to make his way back home. Junpei on the other hand had to bide his time, he watched on as they began to unload the cargo. There were birds and animals from all over the world being brought out. Those that died were tossed into a pile off to the side. "Only half made it, get rid of those and we will move on with the living cargo."
He waited for the sorcerers to leave before making his move. Junpei made his way down to the tarmac, no one noticed him at first until they finished unloading the animals. When they finally turned around, they froze at the sight of him. "Who the hell are you, kid?!" one shouted. "You ought to go before you get hurt…"
He merely smiled to them. "That's very thoughtful of you, thinking I am going to get hurt. Really, I'm touched!" he said mockingly. "But… I don't think it's right you are treating little critters like this. My mom used to LOVE animals… so I'll dedicate this victory to her tonight…"
They pulled out guns.
Junpei paused as they cocked the barrels. "What now boy?" one asked with a sickening grin. "You brought a knife to a gun fight!"
Sure it does look like that…
Junpei only smiled as none of them saw the blood that had oozed out the sides of his mouth, under his shirt and down his legs, as unpleasant as the sensation was, no one took notice. He smirked as he extended his arm, a flick of his wrist and the blood stiffened and reacted to his command.
Piercing through their wrists!
"GAH! MY HANDS! MY HANDS!"
He snapped his fingers next. The blood that pierced them, is also now in their bloodstream. Junpei knew it too and triggered the posion effect it had. He watched with odd satisfaction as they clenched their dominate hand in agony. They trembled as the poison spread up their arms. "Now, who brought the knife to a gun fight?" Junpei asked with a grin on his lips.
"What do you want? You want money? I'll give you everything, just… stop this!" one of the smugglers pleaded.
"Not interested in money, as I said before, my mom LOVED animals and you go and do this to them? Not smart, so I am going to make sure you don't do it again…"
He watched the poison spread even farther, within twenty minutes, their arms had turned black, then… they started to melt! "AAAAHHHH!" they screamed into the night as the rot spread up their arms and eventually, their bodies.
'I pity the person who find them in the morning…' Junpei thought.
They were dead now, but that just leaves the animals they were trying to smuggle…
