Chapter 36
He was taken off the school grounds, into a clearing where Suiryu told him to sit down and listen. "We got a lot of work ahead of us. We need to refine your technique and we also need to get you stronger. As such we are going to use your fear factor again!"
'Oh God, more cliffs….' Junpei thought.
"SO, first lesson… getting the attention of the fans. It's one thing to merely sing your heart and soul out, you got to move around on stage…"
Wait…
"Not to mention, you want to make sure they always have their eyes on YOU. Not Eso, not Tanso, or any other brother… YOU"
How come he's talking about this?...
"Now, your first task is this, you need to work on your rockstar persona, like what you did at our first concert where you didn't describe yourself as Junpei, it was Kechizu. So, we are going to refine Kechizu!"
He didn't understand what was going on or why, but for a few hours. Junpei sat there, too stunned to move as Suiryu went over various ways one can shake their hips as well as appeal to the female fan with such seduction in their movements.
He seriously couldn't understand WHY he was learning this.
"Suiryu…"
"So, you want to try it now? Come on, get off your ass!"
"No, listen!" he protested. "I thought you were going to help me with my curse technique?"
"I am! This is double training, two birds, one stone sort of thing. Look, let me explain something. Curse energy isn't just about control, it's the confidence of that control that allows proper output. Think about it, and I am going to use that asshole as an example. Sukuna knew everything he needed to about his abilities, when he's in battle, he's in control. Why? Because he was confident in himself and how to handle curse energy. If one wavers, if one is uncertain to the mechanics as well as the output of their own energy, they are not going to be good in battle the least bit." He said.
"Take this into consideration as well. You knew NOTHING about blood manipulation. Absolutely shit all, right?"
"Yeah, well I didn't have that ability before…"
"And yet, Choso sings your praises of it, and I consider him at the time to be the master of it. You surpassed him."
He froze to the news. "Wait, how could I?"
"Choso has a more traditional approach when it comes to his ability, as well, he is not fussed on it considering how it was obtained and who he gained it from. There's strong resentment to that, which explains his output of it…" Suiryu said offhandedly, he thought about it even before nodding his head to the conclusion he made.
"You know the story as to how they came to be. Choso never asked to be born and yet, here he is… as well as all the brothers. They won't grow any farther if they hesitate on learning what they are truly capable of. I noticed that none of the other brothers use blood manipulation the same way Choso does. Eso to an extent, but no one else but you can match Choso in skill of the ability"
He took a moment to consider it. It was true.
The other brothers tend to go to their secondary abilities more, since it drifts from the family lineage and technique they gained from Kenjaku. At the same time, it will hinder them later on, wouldn't it?
"Suiryu…"
"You have been through hell. I know you have Junpei. But at the same time, I got a feeling that something more is coming… and we need all the strength we can get. Let me explain it to you like this then. In the top five that I have in my mind to keep Yuuji safe, you are on that list."
He froze. Stunned even to the decree.
Looking into Suiryu's face, he saw how serious he was. "Really?"
"You have no idea how far along you have come. And when I am through with you. I would have you in my top three to keep Yuuji safe from harm. You up for it now?"
He couldn't explain it, but yeah, he was now!
Little did he know, the method of training, involved a lot of concerts!
#
He couldn't tell anyone about this 'secrete' training either.
However, Junpei got to spend a lot more time with the brothers than before. Normally, everyone would go off and do their own thing, but, when they are a band, they were hanging out a lot more, practicing and rehearsing.
At the same time, Junpei still attended school.
There were regular classes as well as learning about jujutsu. Yuuji wasn't too happy when it came to math and what not. However, it was everything Junpei could have hoped for… it was everything Yuuji promised him back in the day.
The school was great.
He was still getting use to Nobara, she was rather outspoken for herself and was not afraid to call anyone out on anything! He met the second years later that week and was surprised to see Panda up close!
Mika offered to train him with weapons.
That he never considered before. "I usually make my own…" he said offhandedly.
"It's one thing to know how to make a weapon, it's another to use whatever you can in the heat of battle. After all, you could run out of curse energy OR lose your weapon… right ITADORI?" she asked as her glare came upon him.
Yuuji froze. "Huh?"
"The slaughter demon dagger… sensei borrowed it from me and gave it to you… and yet YOU said you returned it to him…"
Suddenly, Itadori went white in the face. "Oh… haha… yeah…"
"It broke as he tried to strike down a special grade curse, a finger bearer no less…" Fushiguro explained. "It shattered upon impact…"
"Tch, I knew it…" she growled lowly. "Those things are NOT cheap you are aware of that right?!" she scolded him. Yet sighed aloud. "I over looked it this once since you had made new curse weapons for us when you became… like that," she said offhandedly.
Junpei however began to think. "Can you draw it?" he asked.
"Huh?" everyone questioned.
"Can you show me what it looked like? Do you have a picture of it?"
"Salmon," came out of Toge as he showed him his cellphone.
Peering over the image, Junpei got the basic idea for it and nodded. "That's rather simple enough…" outstretching his right hand, the small mouth opened. From there, blood began to gush and then linger in the air. He took one more look at the photo before nodded his head. Then, he envisioned it.
The blood quivered and reacted before taking solid form. It dropped right into his hands, a crimson slaughter demon dagger.
He carefully inspected it before nodding his approval. "Will this make up for it?"
Everyone paused oddly.
"I thought only Sanso could do that…" Yuuji whispered.
"He taught it to me," Junpei said and smiled. "In fact, all the brothers are determined to have me learn their technique… Tanso and Sho know it may not be possible for me to learn their method, but I'll try nonetheless, it makes them happy."
Mika reached over and took the dagger from him. She tested the weight of it yet sighed. "Nice thought, however I won't be able to use it."
"Why?" he asked innocently enough.
"Weapons have to be infused with curse energy for me to use them. I don't have any." She explained and looked away bitterly.
"Oh, that shouldn't be an issue, that will work for you. It's my curse energy, not to mention the blade itself will be poisoned so it will be more effective against curses…"
Suddenly, no one moved.
They stared at Junpei oddly enough. "Did… I say something wrong?" he asked nervously.
"It's a poisonous curse weapon?" asked Panda. "How…"
"Oh, family ability, due to the rot technique we have as well, it's in our blood and our blood happens to be poisonous… I won't be donating blood any time soon…" he said and nervously laughed it off.
No one really moved after that, Mika kept peering over the blade before she turned to the one in her hand. The polearm with the blade.
She looked it over before she presented it to Junpei. "Can you make your version of this?" she asked.
He took it from her, testing the weight of it and then the length of the blade. "Easily," he said with great confidence.
Passing the polearm back, Junpei went to work, expelling more blood until it began to take shape as to how he envisioned it. Then, in an instant, it all solidified and became a sturdy weapon. He passed it to Mika, and upon closer inspection. She was impressed. "I like it," she said. "Mind of I…"
"It's a token of friendship how about that?" he asked and smiled to her.
"I gladly accept… what else can you do?"
He spend the rest of the day with Mika, working on various weapons and tools…
